By the way, there is still room for my nation, right? It's not gonna be very big, but I want to make sure I'm not getting pushed out :)

Hmm, I would check the claims of everyone so far, but I'm sure there's room enough for a small nation.

Ditto, but don't you already have those weird geomagnetic generators? Why would you want nuclear power?

Wouldn't really be using it for anything other than something to highlight the eccentricity of Ytterban and their scientific prowess. Whatever they did come up with(Assuming it would be a thing) wouldn't reach a point where it was more efficient than the Iron Core for at least a few decades, even getting to the level of 1990's Nuclear Power. I say that because over time they'll be developing the Iron Core further, and at some point the generators will be able to output enough power to negate their start-up costs and essentially become free-energy. Such things are not anywhere close, however, and are merely the dreams of Ytterban, but it's something to work towards. Besides(Suddenly back to nuclear) developing such technology would give Eisenkreis something to do with the veins of radioactive material deep beneath the mountains of Ytterban.
In regards to nuclear power, it's hinted at that Ytterban could make a breakthrough in that realm. Radioactivity is a known field among the Technomancers, and of course there have been efforts to make some use of the materials. Whether or not those efforts are an actual thing, I'll respect GM's wishes regarding the matter. Regardless, there would not be any kind of weaponization of the technology, even if nuclear power was a thing.
Definitely very different fields, though that's not to say there isn't dabbling in non-industrial/military fields. Even with the dabbling though, breakthroughs and such won't be happening in the chemical/biological field in Eisenkreis. Nor will there be any kind of aviation or naval advancements. The only state of the Hegemony that even has a navy is Kzechverin, and it's woefully outdated.
A challenger to Eisenkreis' technological edge? Come at me, ya filthy commie! =P
<Snipped quote by Alfhedil> Elves ride Griffins into battle while equipped with rifles and SMGs.
Also while it's certainly fantastical I took pains to portray them in a serious light with all the realistic issues such unit could have.
Using them to backhandedly justify your own forces is just plain uncalled for.

That being said, I have no issue with your military but I'm getting enough of people referring griffins and elves as something of an outlier.
This is a fantasy NRPG set in 1940.

Looking back, that was more than a little unfair, I apologize. I just get more than a little weary of joining into an NRP, only for people to become too concerned with what someone else has over the principle of forging a narrative. That however, is no excuse for doing the same to another player.
@AlfhedilUm, acccording to this source, WW2 soldiers were already carrying some 40 kilos of equipment and gear.
Tripling it won't be possible, neither it makes sense.
An armor which doesn't cover mot of the limbs or such but 5mm thick would weigh around 25 kilos.
So at best you're raising their load to 65 kilos (which is of course pretty ridiculously lot),

While that's interesting and a cool source and all, the average WW2 soldier also marched in their equipment. The Stahl-Männer do not march, instead utilizing APCs to get to the combat zone they are needed in. So while the kit is heavier than the standard kit, the troopers are not nearly as strained as you make it out to be. In fairness, I may have been over-zealous in terms of weight.

Then again, this is a setting where elves ride griffins into battle. -shrugs-

@Alfhedil

Also, that's an absurdly large army for a nation of that size. I think Voltus said the rule was only around 6% of the population could be in the military, but even that is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many examples of standing armies comprising more than 3% of the population.

It's a nation where service in the military is required, by law, though more so encouraged by the militant police. Of course their military is not going to be on the same level as another nation with a standing army. One must also take into consideration the intense paranoia they have in regards to their neighbors.

I think @Alfhedil claimed an ultra jingoistic German-like state though. Its basically Nazi Germany without the Nazism and genocide.

It's somewhat Nazism, but yes, pretty much on par. I'm working on fixing tags and such and I'll have a rudimentary NS up here shortly.
If the fantasy tag is being pulled, does that mean we have to stick to humans? I ask because I was including a few non-human species in my nation.
