@Alfhedil If possible, I'd like a little more clarification as to who someone would be transferred from the Third to the Second Division, such as additional training, if an appropriate sponsor is required etc

It's dependent on region, though most of them go by a merit system. The more merits one gains through combat actions or tours of duty, the greater the chances of being acquired by a Second Division recruiter. Actual sponsorships aren't as common throughout the Confederacy except in the more aristocratic societies, since it is meant to be a more special forces/alpha strike division. In most cases, all one needs is a letter of commendation from a superior within either higher division, though First Division letters are almost always followed through immediately.
Well, my weekend shift is over, so I can pretty much reply as and when I see posts in the IC. Feel free to have your characters arrive to the briefing either directly from the station, or from their bunks on the ship. It's up to each of you whether your character in particular is a new arrival, though that will affect how things go in the briefing.

As a side note, while I go and edit in my character's augments since I forgot them, if anyone has any comments on their equipment listing or requests, feel free to voice them. There will, of course, be plenty of opportunity throughout the RP to collect up new gear, but if there's anything in particular that you feel your character would be suited for, just let me know.
- Sinuiju Station, 5.17.2410

For all the beating of the drums of war across the Confederacy, rare was it to see a military station so passive. Despite the increased presence of UNISEC personnel and their warships at anchor, Sinuiju refused to be swayed. Such was the steadfast neutrality of Liaoning and her people. Among the varied ships one in particular stood out. Nearly two-thousand meters of warship sharpened to a point and bristling with enough weaponry to take down a ship three times its size, the Yoshino nuzzled close against the station's dock as it took on both supplies and soldiers for her upcoming campaign.

At least, that was how the captain saw her latest orders as they appeared on her desk within. Veteran of a dozen conflicts across three centuries, she had an in-depth understanding on the mystical ability of command in regards to understatement, and this one was hardly out of the ordinary.

"Record." Though she was rather soft-spoken, a light blinked on the desk to indicate her auto-journal's response. "Vice Admiral Genevieve Alleron, captain of the Yoshino. Mark entry as the Seventeenth of May, the year 2410 of the Corporate Era." A soft hum gave away the computer's drives working as she spoke, only recording her words and not the light pace of her footsteps across the wooden floor.

"Orders have been received from command to investigate possible alien threat within one of Liaoning's border worlds. I have taken on supplies and additional personnel in preparation of hostilities, namely in the form of additional nuclear warheads and a dozen suits of Type-85 powered armor. Aris has given assurances of the ship's anti-capital capabilities, and I have also personally overseen the adjustments to the stealth-field. Current estimate for sortie is total of six days, with travel time of 110 hours total between Sinuiju and LAT-4/877/43 already factored in."

For a moment, she debated upon concluding her initial entry there, the pause enough to register a query on the desk to that end. The barely audible ticking of the grandfather clock against the wall seemed to increase in volume in that space of time, gently reminding her that there were still things to do before underway. "Final notation: It has been discussed between myself and the ship's Engram, that executing a stealth-torpedo strike against the alien vessel would be the swiftest conclusion to the sortie, and we have both agreed that it is the preferred method."

Genevieve waited for the click of the recording ending before letting out a sigh, staring at the painting of her homeworld's capital and wondering how her family was faring through the ongoing war. All of the latest news from the station had pointed towards Pomerania being the next target of the Lexikon, and that meant their participation in the war was swiftly coming to an end. Those thoughts were a distraction however, and with a shake of her head that very nearly dislodged her pinkish hair from the tight bun, she dismissed them and focused on the mission at hand. She had new crew-members on board, people that needed to be briefed on how she ran her ship, and it would be best to go forward without thoughts of home.

Already some of them were likely on their way to the briefing room after their tour of the ship and their assigned bunks. Without delay, she fastened her officer's jacket and ensured her rank pins were in place just as surely as the rest of her appearance, and made way down to ensure that her choices of personnel would not disappoint her at least until they were underway.
Alright, I've got work on the IC intro going and will have it up in the morning after I get off work. After that, you're all free to post as and when you can. From there people are still free to join, though once the ship is underway anyone applying afterwards will have to mention that in their apps.

I think that's about where the equipment should be for both characters, though don't be surprised if I come back later and suggest additions or changes on that front lol. Most of that is because my head's a bit fuzzy from working through my own character sheet and adding more into the infodump as I can. Both should be fine to post over in the characters tab though.

If there still room I wouldn't mind getting in on this.

Equipment listing for the both of you, clearing both sheets for posting in the Characters tab. Since I'm reviewing sheets at the moment and listing equipment, I also made a minor observation that is only a little embarrassing. I completely forgot to put down an appearance section in the original CS :| If you've got a picture in mind for your characters, go ahead and put it at the very top of your sheets, otherwise just toss one in when you're ready to go. Either way, you're both cleared to post as is, but I do ask that any future sheets have either a physical description of the character in accordance with the new sheet, or a picture heading the CS.

@Alfhedil

Are you willing to accept fully autonomous machines?

I consider myself pretty flexible as a GM, so if you could wow me considerably with a CS of one and make it feasibly plausible, then I could take it under consideration. Otherwise Daedalus is correct in his statement regarding my previous comments. Fully autonomous machines rebelled in the year 729 Imperial Era, about 4,400 years ago give or take a couple years. That's a pretty long time to find ways around AI, and for resentment against them to become genetic memory. Humans don't trust AI on an instinctive level, and it's taken a lot for things such as the Engram program to become what it is. Now, if you want to talk about an Engram character, then maybe we could have a lot more to work with there.

If you do have an idea already and are quite set on it, then you could also always PM me it and we could go from there. Like I said, I'm pretty flexible even when it comes to a setting of my own creation.
@Shadow Daedalus That's about what I was thinking as well, though never hurts to ask.

Hopefully going to get some work done on the divisions tonight, as well as the IC post and my own character sheets. Still leaving a bit of time for everyone else to respond and get started.
