”What year is it? This will be my second year. Last year ruled so I’m sure this year’s will be even better. Or if not, then I’ll just get high and zone tf out!”.

”Last year I was green. I’m not trying to sound entitled, but I’m a vet, so I should get first grabs. So, uh…” Pauses awkwardly “I’d like green again, please!”

► Is this your choice to attend? If not, what can we do to accommodate you?

”Hell yeah man! I love Washington cause...uh, the weather. Yeah, totally mean the weather! But yeah, I’m hella ready!

► Any allergies, disabilities, or special circumstances we should be aware of?

”Nope! None whatsoever!” He says, lying about how he suffers from anxiety, but nobody is gonna know that because how else will he smoke his cares away?

► Do you have experience with any winter sports? Would you like lessons?

”Only experience I have with winter sports is watching the Winter Olympics every other year. But hell! I’d be down to learn. Or just watch from the sidelines. No problem either way, dude.”

► What are you looking forward to?

”Seeing some old friends. Honestly, I made some real pals last year and it will be nice to just see them again. Also, I guess seeing some really hot babes in skin-tight body suits..Wait, no that sounds creepy.” He coughs “I’d love to see some very attractive young women and have intelligent conversations with them and be very kind and polite to them and maybe get lucky if I can”

► What are you not looking forward to?

”Probably unpacking.”"

► Tell us a little bit about yourself:

”Well, I guess it depends on who you ask. To my friends, I’m pretty awesome and caring and compassionate and corny, but to those who are just mean, I can be perceived as annoying. I don’t make any excuses, but some people just can’t hang with the great one, ya dig?

No, don’t answer that. I know I have a weird sense of humor and people have told me I sometimes seem desperate for attention. I promise you that’s not it. I’m not desperate for love, but I can’t help it. I just wanna be loved and I wanna give love. Is that too much to ask? Yes? What do you mean yes?

Whatever! My mom says I’m cool and you can go stuff it!

Hair: Light brown. Nate’s hair is kept mostly groomed and mostly combed to perfection; although some days it might just be left a shaggy mess like Nate’s life.
Eyes: Brilliantly blue like a sapphire gem.
Height & Weight: 6’2, 175lbs
Body Type: Athletic enough. He is not unreasonably so but enough to seem healthy for all of the walking around he does. Also surprising considering how often the munchies hit him.
Clothing Style: When it comes to his fashion sense, Nate isn’t exactly fancy. Of course, he’s kind of poor, so he doesn’t have the option of being fancy. Even if he did, he wouldn’t because he’s somewhat of a simpleminded guy both in personality and what he wears. He’s casual to the max and wears whatever fits and feels comfortable. Above all else, he’s 100% about the #comfortlife. He has a closet full of jackets and single-colored shirts but only a few pairs of slacks and jeans. He gets them in bulk from the goodwill stores nearby and even the thrift store by his neighborhood had some interesting items of interest.
Scars, Tattoos and/or Piercings: Nope. None worth noting.

► Noteworthy luggage items:

”I have nothing too extravagant or worthy of multiple suitcases like I know some people to carry around. Honestly, I have a backpack for my essential items like my laptop, my phone, my bag of edibles, and some snacks (drug-free). Like a lot of snacks. Oh and my PS Vita. Can’t go anywhere without that. I also have a medium-sized suitcase for, ya know, my clothes and junk. Okay, but junk, I mean more edibles, a few lunch boxes with ice packs to keep my perishables cool, and about a total of two gallons of cherry wine coolers in cranberry juice bottles.”

► Brief history:

”If you’re expecting some sad tale about how I was abused or that my parents didn’t love me or that I had to struggle, this isn’t one of those stories.”

It’s true. Nathaniel Harvey Blake the third didn’t experience any rough hardships growing up. He didn’t suffer any mental or physical abuse from his parents (kids at school are another story, though). For the most part, he had a regular childhood. He had two parents, two younger sisters, and went to Beverly Hills High School.

His father, Nathaniel Harvey Blake Jr -- though he goes by Harvey -- was with a sergeant with the US Army. So, naturally, Nate didn’t see his father often. Whether it was him serving overseas, being in DC a lot, or being called away, Nate was lucky to see Harvey more than three times a month.

But as for his mom and sisters? Yeah, Nate practically was raised by his mother, Dr. Paige Romano-Blake, who worked as a Ph.D. Psychiatrist. She was the glue that held the family together. Even though his sister Hannah, who was two years younger than he was, didn’t always have faith that their parents’ marriage would survive the distance, Nate often was the one to assure both her and Kylie, who was three years younger than him, that it would be okay. He had to because if he doubted what the strongest woman he knew said, then he would drive himself crazy wondering if his parents would actually get divorced.

“Just have to tell myself that they’ll be okay. I mean, if there’s two people who could make it through, it’s the bravest man and best woman I know.”

Being the oldest of Harvey and Paige’s three kids came with pressure on its own. Not pressure from his mother or father. They only required him to look out for Hannah and Kylie. Hannah was mouthy and had a strong belief in saying what she felt in that moment that the thought was formed in her head.

Nate couldn’t relate.

But Kylie? She was too sweet for her own good. She was the innocent one of the three of them. She was too pure for this world and whether or not this made Nathan struggle with how people could take advantage of her or not, it built up, often leading him to deep into his own mind. But where he failed to come through in his promise, Hannah stuck by Kylie’s side. It was no problem for her because Hannah always felt like she was the older sibling. She was the middle child yet she often felt like she was taking care of both of them.

And this just made Nate’s anxiety grow more and more. And because he felt anxious almost all of the time, he started smoking. Because he felt like a failure as a big brother, he smoked weed, ate edibles. Because he got lost in his own head too frequently, Nate got high. It evolved into such a frequent thing that he has managed to act like normal after eating a brownie or taking a few puffs.

And nobody knew about it -- well, except for his sisters, but Hannah gets high with him sometimes and Kylie too, so it’s not like they would snitch on each other.

Getting high helped with his anxiety, but returning to Second Horizons has him feeling both excited and anxious. Maybe because he doesn’t know if his old friends are returning or if it’ll be similar to last year.

“Only time will tell, I guess. I just hope there are some hot girls there this year!”

✋ Nate has the amazing annoying habit often referring to himself in the third person as “Nate the Great”. People who know him love that about him, but most who overhear grimace and judge him for it.

► How many years have you attended Second Horizons?

This will, unfortunately, be Joey's very first time. She's trying to make the most of it, but it's hard this time of year.

► What team color would you like? Do you think you'll get it?

Joey adores and admires every single color and every shade in-between; she even likes lime green. But if you had to ask which cabin she'd prefer, it would be Pink. "I really love pink! Cotton candy, pink marshmallow peeps, pink valentine candy -- I just love it. And I hope I get in!"

► Is this your choice to attend? If not, what can we do to accommodate you?

No, it's not her choice. If Joey had her choice in how she'd spend her winter break, it wouldn't be halfway across the country at a resort she didn't know and with people she wasn't familiar with. If she had a choice, she would spend it with her twin brother, Brad, her mother, her older sister, Mara, her brother Ty. She'd go to Rockafeller Center, but nope! Because she had a little too much fun at her sweet sixteen last year, her father is punishing her by forcing her to spend the winter at Second Horizons. Stronzo del cazzo!

► Any allergies, disabilities, or special circumstances we should be aware of?

Joey has no allergies or any unique disabilities, but she does have a mental health disorder. Since she was 13, Joey has been clinically diagnosed as Bipolar and, though her doctors and therapist advise both her parents and local doctors that she needs to take her lithium, Joey doesn't always do it. "They say I get a bit too wild if I don't have my pills. As if these labcoats know what's best for me!"

► Do you have experience with any winter sports? Would you like lessons?

Joey's experience with winter sports is falling on her ass in the snow when she tried learning snowboarding when she was nine. She likes watching it, though. So why not? She'd be down for lessons.

► What are you looking forward to?

Is that a trick question? It sounds like a trick question. "I guess figuring out if I should hitch a ride elsewhere or not. Okay, but seriously, I guess I'm looking forward to maybe meeting some new friends. It's depressing enough that I can't see my family, so maybe misery loves company?"

► What are you not looking forward to?

When it comes down to it, the one thing Joey isn't looking forward to is this being the first year in her entire existence that she'll be without the comforts of home. "I won't be able to eat Dad's homemade canoli's, Grandma Jade's German Chocolate Cake, Ty's spiced eggnog or, really, anything I want."

► Tell us a little bit about yourself:

She has a default mode of curiosity mixed in with probably way too much optimism. She wants to know things about people. Mystery annoys her and negativity even more so, which is only natural because the notion of keeping things a secret is a foreign concept to her. She is open with just about anyone who wants to hear what she says. She’s known for being maybe just a tad too open and has picked up on a certain brand of honesty that is unique to New York’s very own Manic Pixie with a lot of Hart.

With every ups that Joey possesses, whether it’s smiling so bright the room lights up in rainbow brilliance, or the natural good vibes she gives off, there is also a down -- a side effect of her excitable, nigh bubbly personality. This comes in a sort-of-kind-of-most-definitely wild side that not even spring breakers might be able to compete with. Whether this is a side effect of manic having its worst form or just some need to live up every possible moment, there is a certain madness to how negligent she is when surrounded by people who enable her. It doesn’t matter if the party is only with ten people or over a hundred, from dancing on tables to getting two random guys and/or girls to dance with her, Joey has all the potential in the world to literally lose her mind in the midst of a chaotic scene that matches the pulsating EDM beat that could very well be playing.

► Noteworthy appearance traits:

Joey doesn’t have any physical features that make her stand out in any u nique ways. She’s got a short, slightly-curvaceous body and the features that one of Brazillian and Italian heritage would. Her eyes are brown with a spec of green that comes through in natural lighting. Her arms are slender and waist-to-neck has a slight hourglass figure.

No, physically, joey isn’t remarkable in any way, but what does catch the attention of most is her choice in attire. She will frequently dress in colorful clothes. Whether that’s jean overalls with smiling rainbows, tye-dye blouses, wild cat-print dresses, slightly inappropriate tops that expose her body in ways that might make her father more disappointed in her than he already is. But nothing is so clear as day as her frequent changes in hair color.

Joey is a vibrant soul and maybe likes attention. Who is to really say, but what one can say is how much Joanna Hart loves dying her hair. And she does it so frequently, it’s hard to tell what her natural hair color is. She goes anywhere from magenta pink to soft pink to cyan to platinum blonde to Melanie Martinez-ing her hair with two colors split down the middle.

She loves to express herself and her dream is to be a beautician. How can she make others beautiful if she doesn’t experiment on herself first?

► Noteworthy luggage items:

With her Joey has a total of five separate bags/suitcases included in her total luggage (including two large suitcases and three carry-on bags, two in which were stuffed inside her official carry-on bag). Her luggage came in a set of five and is colored powder blue and with white/gold handles/straps.

Carry-On - Included in her carry-on bag is where most of Joey’s personal and immediate items are kept. In the smaller bag is where she keeps her wallet and phone, as well as a 3DS for when she’s bored. Her phone charger is included too. In the slightly larger one is where most of her essential make-up is kept: eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, chapstick, a couple of brushes, nail polish, her laptop and charger, and a few Chanel no. 5 perfume bottles.
First Suitcase - Included in the first suit case (aka the medium one) is most, if not all, of Joey’s casual wear (there’s a lot). And given it is also colder than her father’s sense of humor, she came prepared with parkas, sweaters, sweatpants, boots, scarves, etc. Also included in this suitcase are dresses, bathing suits for the hotsprings, and her lithium pills.
Second Suitcase - In the slightly larger suitcase is a collection of beauty-related items like her 9-step program of haircare, her straightener, a special iron for her dresses (she has a whole process), her bathing products and essential oils, her single-use hair dye, all of her colofrul accessories, and, last but not least, Mr. Snuggles.

► Quirks:

• Asking too many questions to the point of asking ten before anyone gets a chance to answer the first one
• Greeting people she meets with hugs and them lasting for a surprisingly uncomfortable amount of time.
• Giggling whenever a cute boy/girl walks past her

► Brief history:

So, you might know my family. The Hart Family, Hart Dynasty of New York, HartCorp -- it really doesn’t matter how you know them, but it might benefit both of us if I tell you a bit of history about my family.

My great- grandfather, Zachary Stephen Hart, founded HartCorp. He was if Ted Turner fused with Donald Trump before he became president. Yeah, you could say he’s a bastard, but he also carved his legacy into the entertainment world. Among the big boys: Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Mirmax, and so many others, HartCorp was right up there. Through radio stations and television/film deals, and, eventually when enough capital, he built something incredible.

And if my great-grandfather was the architect, then it was my grandma, Addison Bailey Hart, who took his plans and built into the empire it is now. Everything her father wanted to achieve was done so through her vision, through her innovative measures, through her reluctance to quit and give into the male-dominated world. My mother has often spoke about Addison as her inspiration.

To tell you the truth, I idolize them both, but I’m not my sister Samara. I don’t aspire to follow in the Hart family footsteps, but what I want to do -- what I can only hope to achieve -- is be like my other grandma, Jade. Her success in the fashion industry is what I aspire to achieve. Her alternative style that really took off in the 70s and 80s is such an iconic look. Granny Jade is also one of the coolest people I know. She knows what it’s like to be the wild one and you won’t catch me not aspiring to be like her in every way that I can.

She’s really the sole reason why I want to make others beautiful.

But like my grandma, who when she was my age decided not to play by the rules of her father, rebelled. And maybe that’s why I decided to not care what my Deputy Director of the FBI father wanted for me. He was all about the image. Even when MTV wanted to do a special revival of “My Sweet Sixteen”. Wyatt was against it, but after one conversation with mom, apparently, he came around. I still don’t know what they talked about, but me and Brad didn’t care. Oh right, Brad is my twin brother, so technically it was our sweet sixteen. Bradley is so antisocial, though, that he didn’t make a big fuss about it.

But me? It was involved in every step: planning, sending e-vites, getting Benjamin Cross to DJ my party (really thanks to Mom for knowing him through his wife), and even having Watch Dog Security serving as, well security. It was all perfect. And the party itself was just..oh, it was fucking perfect (thanks Pink).

Until it wasn’t.

I’ll take full blame here. When the party was in full swing and I had just a little too much to drink (plus mixing my meds with alcohol), I lost control of myself. I was dancing with anyone and wasn’t exactly appropriate about it. Even Lottie was worried about me. She tried to convince me to leave. She wanted me to cool it, but I wasn’t hearing any of that. Truth be told, I didn’t give a damn what anyone had to say. Since Dad made it his mission that he didn’t want to be involved, I was going to make sure he couldn’t not hear about it.

Good news? Joey Hart’s Sweet Sixteen episode was the highest-rated since the first iteration of the series. Bad news? Not only did Wyatt not approve of me having a little fun, but his punishment was also so unfair! I was shipped off to an all-girl boarding school in England! England! How was that fair? And to make matters worse, Dad is so disappointed in me, that instead of spending my winter break with my family, he decided that I needed to be taught a lesson and had to spend it in freaking Washington State. Over 2700 miles away.

But I guess it’s fine. I’ve always liked camp, so we’ll see how Second Horizons compares to my childhood home.

Meeting Colin for the first time is a tricky experience for anyone to handle. This is because of his distinctly strong personality, his impactful personality. He’s someone who displays a dynamic, hard-to-read energy. When you meet him, it’s not clear which version of Colin Gallagher you’re going to get. On the off chance he’s in a good mood -- which is as rare as it is for him to not be drunk and/or high -- he is friendly enough. You’ll get a handshake, he’ll ask you about your day or what’s new in your life. You’ll be meeting the colin of old that those closest to him miss. You’ll remember him and probably think Colin Gallagher isn’t a bad guy and not as scary as most say he is.

But this isn’t common and it’s because colin never allows himself to be like that. It hasn’t been a while since he’s genuinely smiled without the spontaneous fits of laughter caused by his vices. The Colin everyone knows either because they’ve been on the opposite end of his mood swings and erratic behavior or just from whispers is a selfish prick who only thinks about himself. Yeah, you could say Colin is kind of a basketcase, a dick who displays nothing of what people knew him for just four years ago.

Everything he does is without a purpose and he does it just because he can. It is not because he wants to cause harm or make people’s life miserable. It’s not even to say that Colin intends to be an asshole. It’s just, he’s miserable every day and every hour of every day. And they say misery loves company, right? Who is Colin to deny that?

Eighteen years ago was an important day. No it wasn’t because troops were sent to Afghanistan or when The Bachelor debuted on ABC. It wasn’t even the expansion of the European Union. No, in the great city of Dubin, a magical thing happened. Right a year after the marriage of Shawn Sheamus Gallagher and Caroline Maisie Brady came the birth of their first born, rightly named Colin Brady Gallagher.

He was a beautiful baby. His bright blue eyes resembled his mother, whose hair was redder than a fire and eyes that sparkled a rich sapphire in the proper lighting. But it was the baby shade of a dimmed gray that he would be declared as his father’s twin.

Colin’s birth wasn’t a special night because of any danger he posed or anything but that he was the firstborn. And him hailing from such a traditional, Irish Catholic family, nothing seemed as important as the firstborn. They wouldn’t say it, but Shawn and Caroline had a favorite. The irony is he’s one of their four kids who has given them the most grief. Whether he did it unintentionally or to make some noise, that’s how raising Colin Gallagher went. But before we get into that, let’s know about his life growing up.

He didn’t always live in Rosefell -- or at least the part of Columbus that was within the Rosefell High district. Actually, up until about three years ago, Colin spent the majority of his life in the upper-middle class. His parents made enough money to where they could live comfortably enough. Even with Rhonda, his younger sister, and the twins that came after, Shea and Sinead, they managed to raise their kids without any signs of there being any struggles.

Shawn was a B-cop for the majority of their time spent in the Liberty district. He didn’t make a lot, but he was home every night. The main breadwinner was Caroline. She serves as lead anchor for MSNBC’s Columbus affiliate and she also wrote crime fiction on the side. That was more than enough for them to live comfortably, but when it came to their kids, there was a divide of sorts on how to raise them. And when both were around, the kids felt it.

Under Shawn’s eye, the kids knew rules and traditions. They went to church three time a week: Sunday mornings and evenings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturday if they could. Shawn was as devout as anyone could be, but he was also really engaged in his beliefs and a traditionalist, at that.

But on the flip slide, Caroline was much more relaxed. Granted, she was also a devout catholic and loved going to Mass, but she didn’t abide entirely by it only because she wanted her kids to feel like the church wasn’t the only thing that should matter.

Naturally, this led to a lot of fights. When they were home, the kids felt it.

Some days, the screaming matches weren’t as bad, but on others, the kids went to their rooms (or at least to a room together) until they were done. This happened frequently, and it forced Shawn to take extra shifts just so he didn’t have to see Caroline all of the time.

During this intense time where his home life wasn’t the greatest and Colin was under too much stress that a thirteen-year-old boy should, he wasn’t entirely miserable. This was due to a fateful encounter that, at the time of it happening, he thanked God. See, he lived in a nice neighborhood that came to mind when you imagine America Suburbia.

And the house to the left of his was special because it belonged to the Marino family. The reason it’s worthy to note is because of the only child of the Marino family. Her name is Cosima. And believe it or not, but she changed his life at hello.

To understand Colin's blackest days and the darkest hours that came after, you must know who Cosima Marino.

Even from a young age, Cosima Marino always displayed a fire that made people pay attention to her. Whether it was her father's friends who always came over or the family from her mother's side, Cosima was always the light of every room. Her wondrous smile and big eyes that thrived from the attention took hold of the attention she received and chained it down to secure it. This was both her greatest attribute as a person and her greatest downfall.

Yeah, you could say Cosima Marino was the kind of girl who thrived off of attention and when she couldn't get it from those who would willingly give it to her, then she had to seek it elsewhere.

Cosima's life was about as normal as one could be with a superintendent father and an actress mother. Her father worked late but was the one around the most. His name is Ricardo Marino; while her mother, Angela Marino, who most might know her from her soap opera fame and starring opposite of Kavi Salvador. Due to Angela's job, she was always gone and only was around when she could -- which was one weekend of every month. And when she was home, Angela didn't always have time for anything but sleep, let alone paying attention to her or her husband.

Yeah, it was normal from the outside, but the Marinos had their fair share of troubles. But Cosima maintained a smile. Her attitude didn't shift in any way that would make others from the outside question if she was unhappy. Of course, she wasn't happy, but Cosima didn't want pity. She hated anyone feeling sorry for her. She hated the very notion that people would throw sympathy at her like she was a begger on the street.

But as she grew older and came into her own, Cosima's personality changed -- well, maybe a better way to describe it was that it evolved. She craved attention and sometimes that led to her acting out. With her parents barely around to notice her and the fact that she was an only child meant she didn't have any siblings to turn to. Cosima was relegated to being taken care of by nannies and relatives, but even they had their limit. Cosima made their lives miserable and if it meant her parents paid attention to her, even to punish her, she persisted.

And they did. On one summer, just a week after she graduated seventh grade, Cosima underwent the worst verbal -- and, if the marks on her arm and face were to be taken as proof -- physical abuse, too. See, her father had a stressful job and instead of drinking like many would, he was the type to smack around his daughter.

Moments after, Ricardo stormed out and his convertible stormed out of the driveway. Cosima took a few moments to bandage up her face and in doing so, as she went through her mother's medicine cabinet, she found a bottle of Vicodin pills. She knew enough to know what they were and she did so with slight hesitation.

And then she walked outside. The pain in both of her arms and jaw had more than faded and she smiled as she parked herself on the steps on the front porch. She turned her head and that's when she met Colin. Both came from troubled homes that appeared normal. They exchanged glances and both smiled at each other.

When they met, both were only thirteen, both were still young, but their life experiences were that of someone in their later teens. They’ve both endured tremendous trauma and frustration with a homelife that hid the truth behind a facade of normalcy. And maybe that’s why they took a liking to each other.

Their first impression of each other was how both seemed to have this enigmatic allure about them. Cosima was energetic and engaging, her eyes filled with fire and life and Colin had a protective aura about him. Even at thirteen, Cosima saw that and she clung to it. Plus, even though Colin didn’t know it at the time, he gave her the attention she had been seeking.

As they spent nearly an hour talking, they bonded over how much they hated their school, how their music tastes were nearly identical, and how they both agreed that Person of Interest was a severely underrated series that deserved more recognition than it got.

In the weeks that followed, Cosima spent more time at the Gallagher’s than she did at her own house. Her parents signed off on it because the Gallaghers were known for their decency. And let’s be honest here. The only reason they did was because they didn’t want Cosima around.

Cosima not only bonded with Colin and he with her, but she also got along well with his siblings. When Colin realized that she was getting along with them, it made him smile. And the more time he spent with her, a quick friendship blossomed into what would become his first relationship. They didn’t go to the same school, but it didn’t matter because Colin knew, no matter how hard his day was, she would be there waiting for him. And his parents also didn’t mind because they adored Cosima.

As the weeks went on, Colin and Cosima had done more than just hung out at his place. They experimented with their relationship physically. Neither knew what they were doing, but they were learned with each other. It was definitely a rough patch and Cosima started to pull away. Beside himself with anxiety, Colin knew there had to be something he could do to make Cosima stay. He loved her more than he loved himself. Every part of him that was happy and safe began and ended with her.

So he hit up a friend of his from Rosefell. He knew his father was a drug dealer who often brought the product home. Colin asked if Hunter could steal a small vile of cocaine. He didn’t need much, only enough to amp up his connection. Hunter not only stole a single vile, but he managed to sneak a few pills of E.

On a Sunday morning, Colin and Cosima were alone at her place. Both of their parents were at work and Colin had asked if Rhonda would watch the twins. She didn’t have much of a choice. Besides, they were sleeping, so it wasn’t as though it would be that hard.

They were in her room and on her bed. Colin had brought up the idea of experimenting differently. Cosima being the type of girl who just appreciated being noticed by Colin agreed to whatever it was. She nearly jumped off her bed from how excited she was when he pulled the vile of the white powder from one pocket and two pills of E from another.

Colin didn’t know it, but before he came over, she had already taken a few oxy pills and was already feeling the high.

The mood was set: Colin had a clear, flat glass plate that he placed on the bed. He had rolled up a dollar bill he had in his pocket and the cocaine was divided into two lines. He was nervous as he hesitated to snort his line. He felt Cosima’s hand touch his and he looked up at her.

“It’s okay,” she said to him and they smiled at each other. “I can go first if you want me to.”

But he shook his head, knowing he needed to do this to show her he wasn't a coward. So he bent down. Colin took in the drug in the nose, snorting deeply and as he raised his head immediately, there was such a wild mix of emotions flowing through him like blood rushed to his head ten times over. He shook his head repeatedly, grunting loudly, and “woooo!”-ing with excitement.

And Cosima was feeding off of his energy. She smiled widely until it hurt her face. She kissed him and took her line almost immediately after. Her reaction mirrored his, but something was different. Colin didn’t notice it because he was still reeling from his own line and he kept sniffing in and out.

By the time colin recaptured control of his awareness, he looked down as Cosima was down face first. He didn’t think much of it because he figured this was something she did. She always was the type to do weird shit to get a rise out of him.

But after a few minutes and him commenting that it was getting old, he shook her body. When she didn’t budge, he tried again but shaking her harder. When that failed, panic set in and Colin desperately shook her tiny body but her body remained motionless.

“Shit. No…”

Colin panicked more and pulled out his cell phone. He was grateful that his parents had let him keep it. He dialed 9-1-1, not even thinking about how his father could find out.

Already in tears and his voice cracking, his despair coming through as he tried to hold his emotions back long enough to let the 911 operator know what happened and where he was at.

After he did and Lucille told him to remain calm and check her breathing and if she was breathing.

She wasn’t and Colin’s tears poured out in an unyielding stream. He held Cosima’s lifeless body in his arms, clenching her tighter than he had for anyone. He wept for her, repeating her name over and over in a grief-stricken voice. His screams filling her room even as the ambulance arrived and EMTs came into her room.

Even as they pulled him away from her, telling him it was okay, Colin didn’t believe them. He saw them see the evidence of the drugs. He knew they were judging him, but the only thing he could focus on was them performing CPR on her. They did everything EMT’s were supposed to.

But in the end, it was for nothing. Cosima was pronounced dead. She had died of a drug overdose on August 11th, 2015. She was going to be fourteen in just seven days.

But this was where Colin’s troubles began.

First it was the grief from her death. That uncontrollable, raw sadness that rendered him bed-ridden for days. But Colin's troubles weren’t only emotional. The DA wanted to charge him with negligent homicide. At only thirteen, Colin would be the youngest to be tried for that crime as an adult, but with all of the pull that his father had, it never went that far -- it didn’t go anywhere. Colin would never see a judge, wouldn’t need to be arranged or arrested.

He suffered enough.

Cosima’s death played a rather important part in what Colin’s life would become. Her death and how it sent ripples would not only divide many involved, but at the Gallagher house, it also divided Shawn and Caroline.

Or rather, Shawn’s disdain for Colin grew to points that nobody in the family could have seen. Even though he had did everything he could (and then some) to keep his son out of jail, it was obvious to Colin, to Rhonda, to the twins who were at the age where they were starting to recognize the body languages of what was and wasn’t good, that Shawn couldn’t stand the sight of Colin. It wasn’t disappointment. In Shawn’s eyes, there burned a genuine hatred for his oldest son.

Not even a month after Cosima’s death, Shawn and Caroline Gallagher not only filed for divorce, but while Shawn stayed in the house Colin grew up in, Caroline moved out with the four kids. They would split custody with three of their four children while Caroline was practically given full custody of Colin and she moved away, closer to where Colin would attend high school at Rosefell.

As all of this was unfolding, Colin’s mental state took a turn for the worst. His girlfriend was dead and his father didn’t want anything to do with him. Colin was beside himself with grief and the pain that knew no end. He just wanted it to end.

And he knew hunter would have his back, so Colin hit him up again for more drugs, even buying some from Hunter’s dad. He started small. He just wanted some heroin to make himself feel better, but when the high didn’t last long enough, he snuck his mother’s alcohol.

This process continued, Colin putting himself down a dangerous, self-destructive path where he chose to not feel anything. He shut down ever caring about his life. And in the process, the Colin everyone knew: the brash, yet friendly and warm Colin Gallagher was no more. He died with Cosima.

Besides, being drunk all the time and getting high when he could was better for everyone. Not like his mother gave two shits anyway, right? That’s why she worked. And Rhonda was old enough to take care of everything.

Just let Colin do what he always did best: look after himself.

Truth be told, Miki isn’t exactly a good person. She likes to think that she is. To her, she thinks she’s freaking magnificent. Caring to those she considers her subjects and devoted to making sure they idolize her. That’s obviously what a ruler should hope for. And boy does she feed off of the attention. Being adored and praised makes her feel good about herself. Of course, she has the highest opinion of herself so that should tell you exactly how much having the validation of her “peers” means to her.

But don’t let this phoniness fool you in the slightest. On the surface, she might be happy to be around people who aren’t in her inner-circle, but there’s an ugliness about Miki. it’s something she hides well because she has her poker face down to an artform, but she is an incredibly judgmental person who is also often hypocritical. Think of her as a Regina George with the poise of royalty and all of the genuine personality of Kylie Jenner. Just think about that for a moment and you’ll understand just what kind of ugly person she is. It’s not that she had a tough childhood or anything, but being around so much privilege allowed her to develop this sense of superiority that found a home where humility should be.

Today was a great day for the world.

On May 29th, 2002, when it was likely hot or cold somewhere, I came into the world. I know, it’s not like my birth was God had a hand in it. Oh wait, yes she did. God is a Woman by the way. I know everyone will be angry I said that, but I am only speaking facts.

Wait where was I? Oh, right!

So anyway, I came into the world. Born to the name of Park Mi-Kyong. I know for you American’s, it’s hard to fathom, so you can just call me Miki. Or Princess Miki. Actually, I definitely prefer you to call me a princess. Momma and Daddy wouldn’t like it if you didn’t treat me with the respect like I know they expect you to show me. You know, daddy is a hotshot CEO. His family’s company is one of those international ones that own everyone’s asses.

Sorry daddy, I didn’t mean to curse. I know it’s unladylike but morons won’t learn if you don’t stoop to their level.

And speaking of my wonderful parents, Daddy is Philip Lambert. He’s got a few siblings but I don’t know them that well. They live on the east coast. I also got a few cousins who live in Palm Beach. Again, don’t know them. Mom was born in Seoul but moved to Columbus around the same time she met Daddy. Mom’s name is Ahnjong. A lot of her American colleagues just call her Annie. It’s so demeaning cause momma’s name is so beautiful and pristine. But I guess sheep really will stick to their guns. I respect that.

Oh and momma is a doctor. Neurosurgeon. Of course, Daddy wouldn’t marry someone who wasn’t intelligent. How do you think I became so utterly amazing? Like duh!

Anyway, I grew up on the best side of town. You know the part of Columbus that wasn’t anywhere near those thugs who attend Rosefell. Like why on god’s green earth would I ever want to venture into the slums of Rosefell when I am perfectly content in Liberty? Ugh, it’s like you expect me to mingle with them. I won’t! And you can’t make me.

...Calm down, Miki. It’s not like you would ever have to leave your wonderful life and your superior school. Nothing in the world would.

Flannel shirts, a few pairs of jeans, and some band memorabilia he stole from a hot topic a few times. A lot of what he owns has been given to him by relatives or stolen. He has a couple of pairs of sunglasses, but honestly that’s it for him as far as accessories are concerned.

At first glance, Hunter seems nearly harmless. People will talk, sure, but his bravado isn’t nearly as scary as when you meet him up close and get to know him a little better. The rumors of him being a problem child, someone whose ego doesn’t know any limits but new ones to create, and his ability to throw the first and last punch may have been greatly underexaggerated. He will in fact punch you in your face if you say something stupid (or what he perceives as stupid). He has a problem about being wrong, which in his case is a lot but that’s beside the point. He hates when he’s being called out about it and throws a two-year-old-level tantrum, which often leads to said punching. His attitude is nasty and teeters on unbearable.

But to some he considers very close friends, there are moments -- and with them, this is almost always his default setting -- Hunter is a delight to be around. He has an adventurer-like mindset and almos always will make you smile with his wit and actions. He knows all of the best ways to get by in this stupid town. If you back him up or he considers you a friend, you will always have him in your corner. Of course, this is assuming that Hunter doesn’t get you thrown in detention or jail because of his loyalty. His recklessness seems to come hand in hand with the fuzz or some authority-type of figure not far behind.

But hey! With Hunter, there is never a dull moment regardless if he’s being a pain in your ass or not.

Biography

The only thing stable about Hunter’s life -- both what it is right now and what it was like for him growing up -- was the fact that it wasn’t stable.

Born out of a loveless relationship that was too apparent to Hunter since he could understand exactly how much of a bastard his father was, his father, Ricky Quinn, was something of a turbulent storm that just got worse as the years went by. And his mother wasn’t any better. Emily Weston was just as much of a screw up as he was. The only saving grace that came out of their relationship was that her parents happened to recognize she needed help and sent her off to rehab shortly after giving birth to Hunter. But in doing so, they refused to do anything for Hunter and Ricky. Whether he liked it or not (he didn’t), hunter was stuck with him.

And what a fucking pleasure that was.

When they weren’t at each other’s throats, Ricky barely was around for Hunter to remain angry at him. Of course, he still held grudges from the time he found out what a grudge was, which wasn’t long after when he figured out he would have to grow up fast. Just imagine an eight-year-old realizing this. Some father Ricky is, huh?

And as he grew up, his anger festered with time. From fights and stints in juvie, whether Hunter would like to admit it or not, but he was just like his father: angry, bitter, and too pissed off at the world for his own good. But unlike Ricky, there was someone there for him.

At the height of his freshman year, just three months off of his early Juvi release, Hunter’s reputation of being a violent sociopath -- which was greatly exaggerated -- also landed him into some fights. Some with his own classmates but also with upperclassmen. He picked a fight with a few known gang members thinking he was hot shit. And after he was given a broken nose, eye, and a few bruised ribs, he found himself in the hospital. It was all very ugly but he was visited by the head coach for the Rosefell Knights, Coach Zachary Porter. He wasn’t in any mood to hear it, but being bedridden, he had no choice. The coach was disappointed that Hunter was in the position that he was. After a brief conversation, though, the coach had sweet-talked Hunter with the possibility of joining the football team. Hunter wasn’t sure, but the promise of being able to hit someone without getting into trouble (or winding up dead) was appealing to him.

He thought about it. And thought about it some more, but after nearly a week, Hunter accepted it. There was a part of him -- a hidden part he would never allow himself to let anyone but a chosen few see -- that felt like that was the first time anyone who didn’t want to kill him that showed any interest in what he was doing. The coach was the first male figure in his life that didn’t make him feel like shit. That resonated with him.

And to this day, he keeps up with his grades as minimally as he can with the only hope that he can stay on the team and bash in people’s faces without getting detention.

Pre-Memory Loss Life For as long as he could remember, Levi Forrester has always had to watch his back. From his divorced parents often using him as the pawn in the nasty verbal shouting wars, using him as leverage to one-up each other, and eventually making him loath them both. Through all of this, since he was seven, he had to grow up quickly. Being the youngest of three children, Levi survived by applying a child-friendly code: don't regret and always do what makes you happy. He's tried to apply that to everything in his life, but when two big sisters feel so protective over you, it was hard for Levi to find his way. With two older sisters, Levi couldn't find his way until he dug a hole out of the prison that was his life. Sometime after turning thirteen -- maybe a bit before -- the good-natured boy who suffered under the tug of war his parents put him through and the overbearing nature his sisters had, Levi broke out of his cell (yes cell, not shell) and found ways to express himself. He started small: tagging walls at his school in Seattle, Washington, getting into fights (some started, some finished but most lost cause he was and still is a puny SOB), and not really paying much attention to this little thing called rules. Levi blames his upbringing. He wasn't raised right. Too many rules and not enough attention was given to him. Honestly, the fact that he only stuck to little stuff like vandalism and trespassing should make his folks proud. He could have been a murderer in the making. Of course, he has thought about it. Anyone who says they didn't think of killing someone at least once is either lying or already did it and doesn't want the FBI to come knocking on their door. ...Not that Levi has killed anyone or anything like that. That's illegal and he's totally a law-abiding citizen. Just like Gerard Butler was. So where were we? Oh yes, Levi's extracurriculars. Remember that bit about Levi trespassing? Yeah, there's more to that. He does so with style and grace. This is because Levi has always been one for athletics. During all of those times, his parents didn't want to deal with him, they signed him up for athletics growing up. The rigid schedule of baseball, basketball, football, track, and just a lot of activities he didn't want to do but couldn't deny there were at least some benefits. Without all of that physical conditioning imprinted into his mind, Levi wouldn't have found breaking all of the rules and climbing structures a fifteen-year-old him shouldn't be climbing the most exhilarating and form of adrenaline he felt since he pissed on a cop car when he was thirteen (among the other illegal acts he committed during his early days). A lot of his free time has been spent getting to high places with relative ease, all the while he evaded the cops and went unnoticed by his folks. They barely noticed he was gone but he had to wonder that, in the moments before some guys from some place dressed like Men in Black kidnapped him from the back alley behind the Parkour Vision gym, he had to wonder how exciting these guys were. He lived for thrills and wherever he went, at least he wouldn't be used as a pawn anymore. He was free to live his best life.

Between her seven older siblings and her parents who were borderline her housemates than actual parents, had a lot of issues and a majority of them seemed to originate from Cassie's inception. To say she was emotionally abused might be an understatement. To say that Cassie was constantly reminded just how little she mattered to her family would also be an understatement. What wouldn't be an understatement is just how little Cassie seemed to care about her own worth and how, despite all of the cruelty of their belittling, ignoring her existence, and all of the times she craved for a little crumb of affection, somehow the girl named for the Greek Vain Queen, Cassiopeia, she remained humble and true to her core nature. and in the darkness, she found a northern star in the form of a camera. It brought her home and revealed her truth. And if only that truth wasn't the thing that would carve the path for where she ended up. Cassie had snapped a photo of some kids in rural Georgia, being drugged and tossed into a black van. She did this while also, granted unknowingly, signing the contract that sealed her fate. Those photos taken, though it would be days later of her doing the same thing, she became one of those drugged kids, snatched up like a feather being blown into the open skies. ”Seeing some old friends. Honestly, I made some real pals last year and it will be nice to just see them again. ”Well, I guess it depends on who you ask. To my friends, I’m pretty awesome and caring and compassionate and corny, but to those who are just mean, I can be perceived as annoying. I don’t make any excuses, but some people just can’t hang with the great one, ya dig?

No, don’t answer that. I know I have a weird sense of humor and people have told me I sometimes seem desperate for attention. I promise you that’s not it. Hair: Light brown. Nate’s hair is kept mostly groomed and mostly combed to perfection; although some days it might just be left a shaggy mess like Nate’s life.

Body Type: Athletic enough. He is not unreasonably so but enough to seem healthy for all of the walking around he does. Also surprising considering how often the munchies hit him.
Clothing Style: When it comes to his fashion sense, Nate isn’t exactly fancy. Of course, he’s kind of poor, so he doesn’t have the option of being fancy. Even if he did, he wouldn’t because he’s somewhat of a simpleminded guy both in personality and what he wears. He’s casual to the max and wears whatever fits and feels comfortable. Above all else, he’s 100% about the #comfortlife. He has a closet full of jackets and single-colored shirts but only a few pairs of slacks and jeans. He gets them in bulk from the goodwill stores nearby and even the thrift store by his neighborhood had some interesting items of interest.

”I have nothing too extravagant or worthy of multiple suitcases like I know some people to carry around. ► Brief history:

”If you’re expecting some sad tale about how I was abused or that my parents didn’t love me or that I had to struggle, this isn’t one of those stories.”

It’s true. Nathaniel Harvey Blake the third didn’t experience any rough hardships growing up. He didn’t suffer any mental or physical abuse from his parents (kids at school are another story, though). For the most part, he had a regular childhood. He had two parents, two younger sisters, and went to Beverly Hills High School.

His father, Nathaniel Harvey Blake Jr -- though he goes by Harvey -- was with a sergeant with the US Army. So, naturally, Nate didn’t see his father often. Whether it was him serving overseas, being in DC a lot, or being called away, Nate was lucky to see Harvey more than three times a month.

But as for his mom and sisters? Yeah, Nate practically was raised by his mother, Dr. Paige Romano-Blake, who worked as a Ph.D. Psychiatrist. She was the glue that held the family together. Even though his sister Hannah, who was two years younger than he was, didn’t always have faith that their parents’ marriage would survive the distance, Nate often was the one to assure both her and Kylie, who was three years younger than him, that it would be okay. He had to because if he doubted what the strongest woman he knew said, then he would drive himself crazy wondering if his parents would actually get divorced.

“Just have to tell myself that they’ll be okay. I mean, if there’s two people who could make it through, it’s the bravest man and best woman I know.”

Being the oldest of Harvey and Paige’s three kids came with pressure on its own. Not pressure from his mother or father. They only required him to look out for Hannah and Kylie. Hannah was mouthy and had a strong belief in saying what she felt in that moment that the thought was formed in her head.

Nate couldn’t relate.

But Kylie? She was too sweet for her own good. She was the innocent one of the three of them. She was too pure for this world and whether or not this made Nathan struggle with how people could take advantage of her or not, it built up, often leading him to deep into his own mind. Getting high helped with his anxiety, but returning to Second Horizons has him feeling both excited and anxious. Maybe because he doesn’t know if his old friends are returning or if it’ll be similar to last year.

► How many years have you attended Second Horizons?

This will, unfortunately, be Joey's very first time. She's trying to make the most of it, but it's hard this time of year.

► What team color would you like? Do you think you'll get it?

Joey adores and admires every single color and every shade in-between; she even likes lime green. But if you had to ask which cabin she'd prefer, it would be Pink. "I really love pink! Cotton candy, pink marshmallow peeps, pink valentine candy -- I just love it. And I hope I get in!"

► Is this your choice to attend? If not, what can we do to accommodate you?

No, it's not her choice. If Joey had her choice in how she'd spend her winter break, it wouldn't be halfway across the country at a resort she didn't know and with people she wasn't familiar with. If she had a choice, she would spend it with her twin brother, Brad, her mother, her older sister, Mara, her brother Ty. She'd go to Rockafeller Center, but nope! Because she had a little too much fun at her sweet sixteen last year, her father is punishing her by forcing her to spend the winter at Second Horizons. Stronzo del cazzo!

► Any allergies, disabilities, or special circumstances we should be aware of?

Joey has no allergies or any unique disabilities, but she does have a mental health disorder. Since she was 13, Joey has been clinically diagnosed as Bipolar and, though her doctors and therapist advise both her parents and local doctors that she needs to take her lithium, Joey doesn't always do it. "They say I get a bit too wild if I don't have my pills. As if these labcoats know what's best for me!"

► Do you have experience with any winter sports? Would you like lessons?

Joey's experience with winter sports is falling on her ass in the snow when she tried learning snowboarding when she was nine. She likes watching it, though. So why not? She'd be down for lessons.

► What are you looking forward to?

Is that a trick question? It sounds like a trick question. "I guess figuring out if I should hitch a ride elsewhere or not. Okay, but seriously, I guess I'm looking forward to maybe meeting some new friends. It's depressing enough that I can't see my family, so maybe misery loves company?"

► What are you not looking forward to?

When it comes down to it, the one thing Joey isn't looking forward to is this being the first year in her entire existence that she'll be without the comforts of home. "I won't be able to eat Dad's homemade canoli's, Grandma Jade's German Chocolate Cake, Ty's spiced eggnog or, really, anything I want."

► Tell us a little bit about yourself:

She has a default mode of curiosity mixed in with probably way too much optimism. She wants to know things about people. Mystery annoys her and negativity even more so, which is only natural because the notion of keeping things a secret is a foreign concept to her. She is open with just about anyone who wants to hear what she says. She’s known for being maybe just a tad too open and has picked up on a certain brand of honesty that is unique to New York’s very own Manic Pixie with a lot of Hart.

With every ups that Joey possesses, whether it’s smiling so bright the room lights up in rainbow brilliance, or the natural good vibes she gives off, there is also a down -- a side effect of her excitable, nigh bubbly personality. This comes in a sort-of-kind-of-most-definitely wild side that not even spring breakers might be able to compete with. Whether this is a side effect of manic having its worst form or just some need to live up every possible moment, there is a certain madness to how negligent she is when surrounded by people who enable her. It doesn’t matter if the party is only with ten people or over a hundred, from dancing on tables to getting two random guys and/or girls to dance with her, Joey has all the potential in the world to literally lose her mind in the midst of a chaotic scene that matches the pulsating EDM beat that could very well be playing.

► Noteworthy appearance traits:

Joey doesn’t have any physical features that make her stand out in any u nique ways. She’s got a short, slightly-curvaceous body and the features that one of Brazillian and Italian heritage would. Her eyes are brown with a spec of green that comes through in natural lighting. Her arms are slender and waist-to-neck has a slight hourglass figure.

No, physically, joey isn’t remarkable in any way, but what does catch the attention of most is her choice in attire. She will frequently dress in colorful clothes. Whether that’s jean overalls with smiling rainbows, tye-dye blouses, wild cat-print dresses, slightly inappropriate tops that expose her body in ways that might make her father more disappointed in her than he already is. But nothing is so clear as day as her frequent changes in hair color.

Joey is a vibrant soul and maybe likes attention. Who is to really say, but what one can say is how much Joanna Hart loves dying her hair. And she does it so frequently, it’s hard to tell what her natural hair color is. She goes anywhere from magenta pink to soft pink to cyan to platinum blonde to Melanie Martinez-ing her hair with two colors split down the middle.

She loves to express herself and her dream is to be a beautician. How can she make others beautiful if she doesn’t experiment on herself first?

► Noteworthy luggage items:

With her Joey has a total of five separate bags/suitcases included in her total luggage (including two large suitcases and three carry-on bags, two in which were stuffed inside her official carry-on bag). Her luggage came in a set of five and is colored powder blue and with white/gold handles/straps.

Carry-On - Included in her carry-on bag is where most of Joey’s personal and immediate items are kept. In the smaller bag is where she keeps her wallet and phone, as well as a 3DS for when she’s bored. Her phone charger is included too. In the slightly larger one is where most of her essential make-up is kept: eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, chapstick, a couple of brushes, nail polish, her laptop and charger, and a few Chanel no. 5 perfume bottles.
First Suitcase - Included in the first suit case (aka the medium one) is most, if not all, of Joey’s casual wear (there’s a lot). And given it is also colder than her father’s sense of humor, she came prepared with parkas, sweaters, sweatpants, boots, scarves, etc. Also included in this suitcase are dresses, bathing suits for the hotsprings, and her lithium pills.
Second Suitcase - In the slightly larger suitcase is a collection of beauty-related items like her 9-step program of haircare, her straightener, a special iron for her dresses (she has a whole process), her bathing products and essential oils, her single-use hair dye, all of her colofrul accessories, and, last but not least, Mr. Snuggles.

► Quirks:

• Asking too many questions to the point of asking ten before anyone gets a chance to answer the first one
• Greeting people she meets with hugs and them lasting for a surprisingly uncomfortable amount of time.
• Giggling whenever a cute boy/girl walks past her

► Brief history:

So, you might know my family. The Hart Family, Hart Dynasty of New York, HartCorp -- it really doesn’t matter how you know them, but it might benefit both of us if I tell you a bit of history about my family.

My great- grandfather, Zachary Stephen Hart, founded HartCorp. He was if Ted Turner fused with Donald Trump before he became president. Yeah, you could say he’s a bastard, but he also carved his legacy into the entertainment world. Among the big boys: Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Mirmax, and so many others, HartCorp was right up there. Through radio stations and television/film deals, and, eventually when enough capital, he built something incredible.

And if my great-grandfather was the architect, then it was my grandma, Addison Bailey Hart, who took his plans and built into the empire it is now. Everything her father wanted to achieve was done so through her vision, through her innovative measures, through her reluctance to quit and give into the male-dominated world. My mother has often spoke about Addison as her inspiration.

To tell you the truth, I idolize them both, but I’m not my sister Samara. I don’t aspire to follow in the Hart family footsteps, but what I want to do -- what I can only hope to achieve -- is be like my other grandma, Jade. Her success in the fashion industry is what I aspire to achieve. Her alternative style that really took off in the 70s and 80s is such an iconic look. Granny Jade is also one of the coolest people I know. She knows what it’s like to be the wild one and you won’t catch me not aspiring to be like her in every way that I can.

She’s really the sole reason why I want to make others beautiful.

But like my grandma, who when she was my age decided not to play by the rules of her father, rebelled. And maybe that’s why I decided to not care what my Deputy Director of the FBI father wanted for me. He was all about the image. Even when MTV wanted to do a special revival of “My Sweet Sixteen”. Wyatt was against it, but after one conversation with mom, apparently, he came around. I still don’t know what they talked about, but me and Brad didn’t care. Oh right, Brad is my twin brother, so technically it was our sweet sixteen. Bradley is so antisocial, though, that he didn’t make a big fuss about it.

But me? It was involved in every step: planning, sending e-vites, getting Benjamin Cross to DJ my party (really thanks to Mom for knowing him through his wife), and even having Watch Dog Security serving as, well security. It was all perfect. And the party itself was just..oh, it was fucking perfect (thanks Pink).

Until it wasn’t.

I’ll take full blame here. When the party was in full swing and I had just a little too much to drink (plus mixing my meds with alcohol), I lost control of myself. I was dancing with anyone and wasn’t exactly appropriate about it. Even Lottie was worried about me. She tried to convince me to leave. She wanted me to cool it, but I wasn’t hearing any of that. Truth be told, I didn’t give a damn what anyone had to say. Since Dad made it his mission that he didn’t want to be involved, I was going to make sure he couldn’t not hear about it.

Good news? Joey Hart’s Sweet Sixteen episode was the highest-rated since the first iteration of the series. Bad news? Not only did Wyatt not approve of me having a little fun, but his punishment was also so unfair! I was shipped off to an all-girl boarding school in England! England! How was that fair? And to make matters worse, Dad is so disappointed in me, that instead of spending my winter break with my family, he decided that I needed to be taught a lesson and had to spend it in freaking Washington State. Over 2700 miles away.

But I guess it’s fine. I’ve always liked camp, so we’ll see how Second Horizons compares to my childhood home.

Body Type: Athletic enough. He is not unreasonably so but enough to seem healthy for all of the walking around he does. Also surprising considering how often the munchies hit him.
Clothing Style: When it comes to his fashion sense, Nate isn’t exactly fancy. Of course, he’s kind of poor, so he doesn’t have the option of being fancy. Even if he did, he wouldn’t because he’s somewhat of a simpleminded guy both in personality and what he wears. He’s casual to the max and wears whatever fits and feels comfortable. Above all else, he’s 100% about the #comfortlife. He has a closet full of jackets and single-colored shirts but only a few pairs of slacks and jeans. He gets them in bulk from the goodwill stores nearby and even the thrift store by his neighborhood had some interesting items of interest.

► Brief history:

”If you’re expecting some sad tale about how I was abused or that my parents didn’t love me or that I had to struggle, this isn’t one of those stories.”

It’s true. Nathaniel Harvey Blake the third didn’t experience any rough hardships growing up. He didn’t suffer any mental or physical abuse from his parents (kids at school are another story, though). For the most part, he had a regular childhood. He had two parents, two younger sisters, and went to Beverly Hills High School.

His father, Nathaniel Harvey Blake Jr -- though he goes by Harvey -- was with a sergeant with the US Army. So, naturally, Nate didn’t see his father often. Whether it was him serving overseas, being in DC a lot, or being called away, Nate was lucky to see Harvey more than three times a month.

But as for his mom and sisters? Yeah, Nate practically was raised by his mother, Dr. Paige Romano-Blake, who worked as a Ph.D. Psychiatrist. She was the glue that held the family together. Even though his sister Hannah, who was two years younger than he was, didn’t always have faith that their parents’ marriage would survive the distance, Nate often was the one to assure both her and Kylie, who was three years younger than him, that it would be okay. He had to because if he doubted what the strongest woman he knew said, then he would drive himself crazy wondering if his parents would actually get divorced.

“Just have to tell myself that they’ll be okay. I mean, if there’s two people who could make it through, it’s the bravest man and best woman I know.”
