Current you know, my SO never forces me to say a thing that's on my mind and doesn't mind if I don't always explain myself which makes it way easier to actually tell them stuff. boundaries good.

as much as I'd love to pre-plan RPs, I've also noticed that's the fast track to killing them. A little planning and a rough gist is fine, but anything beyond that and people don't wanna write no more.

Ancient Dragon, Greed Quasar, Hermit of Prophecy, etc.

And those anime-only cards remained anime-only for a reason. I honestly don't see how they relate to what we're discussing since we are talking about the game as we are trying to play completely unscripted. And yes, some Xyz Monsters require specific named materials, but those materials have the same requirements, which is the point I'm trying to make. It's fine if it's just specifying the materials required, I'm saying that we should follow precedence and make those requirements the same. And yeah, Exciton and Castel are super splashable and versatile Xyz Monsters, but I'm not discussing that the card is OP, I'm saying that it's just not how Xyz Monsters work.

The reason I'm bringing up Anime-only is because this RP isn't the real world either. It's set in a world based on the five animes. I also get your point on making the requirements the same, but it's not like I asked to use a rank 6 and a rank 8. For all intents and purposes they're still rank 4's with just different attributes. I'm not arguing OPness either, hell, the cards aren't that good. I'm just trying to say that whilst yes, Konami didn't do this, there's no indication that it couldn't be done. There's been instances of them breaking their own rules in their own fictional universes, so why can't we do the same? That's my question.

*Wants to join argument, does not want to escalate argument. Quietly fumes to self while making feelings known.*

If you have an opinion, share it. Honestly, if more people than just Lunar and Scarifar are against it(or they manage to change my mind) I'll change it. I don't want to be a complete prick either.

Yeah, but Contact Fusion and Mask Change are pretty much evolved mechanics that border on being something new entirely, kind of like Rank-Up and Accel Synchro, with appropriately flashy introductions in the anime or manga. And yeah, Konami certainly had the chance to make Xyz Monsters like this, but they haven't, and saying they haven't done so yet is just speculation. Konami could have taken Xyz Monsters down the path of Fusions and Synchros by requiring different materials, but they didn't, and that's probably because they have a specific idea of what Xyz Monsters should be. By the way, I think you might be underestimating just how small card text can be.

I'm not. There's a reason I outright rejected a certain card, it was more like a novel rather than anything else.

Also, the anime-only monster that was a Rank 13 was a thing. Please tell me how you're going to summon that with actual Xyz materials. Or Dark Synchros, those were pretty wonky too. I know the idea behind Xyz, but if we're really going down that path, then there's a clear divide between specifics and splashable materials. There's a ton of generic rank 4's, but then some require actual named cards (hello fiend eagle). I'd consider this just another way of specifying what type of monster you need. I mean, you could use those very same monsters to Xyz Summon Exciton Knight and Castel. Hardly fair imo.

With all due respect, can't you just change it like how Charak changed Kyuubi? It just leaves a bad taste because that's not really how Xyz Monsters work.

*shrug* To be fair, There's some cards created here that simply would not work IRL because the card text is too long. We're not following reality down to the nitty gritty, card text just has to be correct and balanced. And it's not like Konami never had the choice to make them like that, they just haven't done so yet. Honestly, you weren't really supposed to send fusion materials from your field to your deck until contacts came out either or use mask change to summon a fusion monster that can't even be summoned otherwise. There will always be exceptions to the rule.
Not to be 'that guy' but Xyz have always required the materials to follow the same restrictions. As such, the materials should probably be 2 Level 4 FIRE Monsters or 2 Level 4 Monsters.

To be fair, I've made an exception before with there having to be 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster for another Xyz Monster he created.
Darn I didn't realize you'd be openin this so soon.

Guess I gotta brainstorm.

Stuff with Maisy was going nowhere. Leander, Vincent, Tsukiko and Megan were pretty much done. Not much left to do with that event.
Oh, by the way, for Angelo and Camryn, they were able to see that duel on a screen had they paid attention to it.
