while tru, quantity != quality, the fact is there's enough good writers out there with diverse enough interests to fit most niches apart from the unrealistically specific i.e. kitten beheading RP

If you enjoy my posts then consider pressing here to see my 1x1 interest check.

About me:
Where do I begin. I'm from Belarus, and fairly proud of it. I've been RPing about a decade starting mostly with chat stuff and some LARPs/reenactments, doing the stuff of this site for maybe half a decade now. I'm a former serviceman, and while I was conscripted I make sure to stay in related circles. As a day job I'm a programmer letting me usually work from home even when we don't have coronavirus forcing us to do so and thus I got a lot of time for RP.

Would players be able to customise their nations to be more divergent from canon? An alternative take on a nation, so to speak.

What in particular do you have in mind? The story is only loosely based on the official lore of the end times and I intend to give rather large player agency. However this has to be within reason. Bretonnia is still feudal Western Europe, Kislev is still Balto-Slavic Renaissance Europe, etc.
Hallo lads, its me your favorite lad. I was thinking of making a Warhammer Fantasy based nation roleplay.

I got inspired for it when I saw this map once upon a time.

In said roleplay, each player would take control of a civilization that they would play as. Combat would be resolved with either dice, or in a roleplay manner depending on which you as players would prefer.

If dice, the system I have in mind is incomplete but approximately is as follows. There are different unit types; melee infantry, ranged infantry, artillery, cavalry, air forces. They would roll in different ways to add to a total for your side's combat roll. As an example, for each division of infantry that is in a certain province in combat, you add +3 to the combat roll that you have. Meanwhile, for ranged infantry you add a direct +2 to the final result, without rolling. Artillery would remove 1 from the enemy's army roll for every 10 units that they [the enemy] have, while cavalry would remove 1 for every 10 of the enemy's final roll number. Different races would naturally have different modifies and special rules for combat, like Dwarves have a "shieldwall" that means for every 5 melee units that they have they get a +1 to defensive rolls. There would also be a similar system for naval combat. Now, to raise said armies one would have to pay gold coffers. For most races save for Dwarfs and a few others with rather small but powerful in lore Empires, they would generate one Gold coffer per turn from each region that they own. This in turn would be used to buy things like troops, or fortifications etc. to make better modifiers, or if we all get together to make an interesting system we could even add things like using money to invest in industry and such.

Alternatively, all conflicts and development could be resolved through RP. Naturally, this would involve thing like battlemaps on which players draw battleplans and troop movement although my one issue is that faction bias could easily come in here for long arguments of "no my one unit of Empire Halberdiers is better than your one unit of Estalian Halberdiers." However I am open to this variant too.

Regardless, for either version I am in search of a Co-GM, because for either option there is a lot of conflict resolution and help of development that I would need. That said, player input would be desired and to some degree even needed.

This Nation Roleplay would vaguely follow the end time tales but if players do it right they can always change the path of the story. Archaon can be beaten back, the skaven can be stopped, etc. So, interest?

Worthy children of Low Countries
Whom a fine passion has aroused,
To your patriotic fervour
Great successes lie in store.
Remain under arms, so that naught shall change!
Let us keep to the same will,
And we shall see Orange bloom anew
Upon the tree of Liberty.

-The original Brabanconne

Marching bands, girls waving handkerchiefs and blowing kisses, all of this accompanied the squad of Sergeant van der Koopften. But unlike most of his men he knew better than to smile and be glad of what he was about to see. He was marching off to what had a reasonable chance of being his last day alive.

As he saw in the distance the farmstead with the bridge he'd be defending he grunted; the scale was quite different in real life than upon the map. The damned krauts had already ruined the livelihood of this innocent worker, not particularly caring for the ambitions of the Germans. The bastards didn't want to fight war honestly and attack France through it's proper borders so they invaded Belgium to get around the French defences. Well, if a scrap was what the nazis wanted then they'd get one. They'd see what the sons of Flanders and Wallonia could bring forth, and they'd taste cold steel on their filthy lips.

As they got closer, Leopold started to bark orders.

"Nicolet, Albrecht you old bastard, get over to the far side of the road right before the bridge, go in the ditch and cover yourselves with mud. I know, I know, your beautiful uniforms will get dirty but I don't care. You'll use the ditches as cover as you lie down. You won't show your faces until the enemy is right and close where you can throw your grenades and get off some fast shots, you hear me?" As the grumbled confirmations came the Sergeant said "Good, on to the next order of business. Private Janssen, you'll go to the barn, stand at the door and look through the lines of the forest, you'll be one of our little reserves. Heavy gunner team, you'll set up at the right window of the farmhouse. Robert, Heinrich, you two will be at the window and doorways of the farmhouse... now!"

At last, the Sergeant inhaled, and massaged his eyebrows as only two remained without orders. Corporal Voors and Private Jacobs, you'll come with me to the windmill, we're the aegis, you hear? The others will be relying on us for support. Enemies our comrades don't see, we take them down. If all else fails, we are here. Understood? Good. Let's go, I think I hear the Germans in the distance."

With that, they were deployed. Some men smoke, whilst the gunnery team quietly played a game of cards to settle their nerves before the invader arrived....

The Lance-Corporal spat as arterial  blood went into all of his facial orifices from mouth, to noise, to his eyes and ears. Ioannis quickly recovered his blade and raised it into the air for comrades and enemies alike to see its ichor shine, and to prepare to bring it down once more.

However developing events forced his hand quite quickly once more. His endangered allies had fired a volley and went off on a supporting counter charge at the enemy, but not before they sent a volley of their own. Ioannis ducked as bullets whistled around him, glad of the apparent reprieve until one ball went into his shoulder. The officer gave a pained cry that turned into an angry roar as he realized it wouldn't do well for the men to be demoralized now of all times. He glanced down to see the deformed thing intact and relatively far out of him to even pull out with his fingers if he so wanted. But not now. "Return fire, now!" He yelled, sword under armpit as he cracked off one of his own pistols. He made the obvious inflection of urgency for aiming was less important than just getting the shots off right now. They had to soften the enemy for the counter charge of the Byzantines upon the bridge so that it would slam into a disorganized enemy rather than one that managed to draw blades, shoot, or affix bayonets.

Depending on the man, the soldiers under his command would have from zero to three loaded pistols left at the moment, averaging to a pessimistic one. Thus he had to keep those as a reserve to either fire at the routing enemy, or to once more quickly disorganize them if things turned in their tide again. For now, sharpened steel would have to do the trick.

"Get the closest one to you, but look for the officers!" He screamed, as he himself looked for distinctive markings. He briefly considered himself at the same risk for even though he was not ornamented as a leader, his shouting of what were obviously words of command most likely gave him away at least to some of the enemy. As he raced forward he put on a grim expression as he prepared himself for the next cuts with his sword. He leaned slightly to his right and stared at the closest enemy to him on that side, as though he were about to try and cut them down. In fact it would be feint, for he would quickly make use of the fact he was actually going forth straight and not leaning too much, so that he could quickly turn to the left and cut down the unprepared enemy further along his left side. His first kill was based on sheer surprise, now he had to use a measure of skill hoping the enemy wasn't experienced enough to catch his feint for what it was. If they did, Ioannis would be between two enemies who could cut him up at their leisure if he didn't act fast. Through gritted teeth, the NCO glanced around again hoping to catch a glimpse of an enemy officer before turning back for the moment of truth, blade swinging for his coming trick.

"Encircle them, get them from behind, get them!" Screamed the Lance-Corporal, as he rode on. He had to think fast in such a case, but luckily there wasn't much need for thinking. They had caught the enemy by partial surprise, and they'd show them what it meant to face an elite of the true Romans.

He quickly placed his sword in his teeth (by the handle, for he knew only idiots and writers - arguably the same - thought soldiers stuck blades in their mouth) and quickly snapped off two pistol shots at any enemies who were closer to trees or other terrain that could not be navigable by horse. Just as quickly he put them away and drew his sword once more.

He swung the blade in the air a few more times with a meaningless scream of battle, before giving off two quick whistles. As he approached the enemy he screamed "Ei Fritz! Ein gefe til eseis!" hoping the old Varangian tongue passed down by his kin still shared enough German roots for them to understand. As the lines began to close, he greeted his teeth as he prepared to cut down the first kraut he got to, aiming for his neck to get the head right off.
Should of stayed locked.

Should have
@VoiD
Oh, is it okay if I retroactively add that my lad quietly pocketed the Cornet's pistols?
The Belgians

1 Leopold van der Koopften - Sergeant
The commander of the unit, he is like many recruited from the lower gentry. He carries a Karabiner 1889: Cavalry with a socket bayonet always on, alongside his sabre and FN-1910.

2 Charles Epee - Corporal (Heavy Machine Gunner)
A young French-speaker paradoxically from Flanders, he is small but surprisingly well built. He carries a Maschinengewehr-08, alongside his Browning Hi-Power and set of armour from the first world war's era.

3 Francois Voors - Corporal (Light Machine gunner)
Almost as paradoxic as Charles, Francois is a Dutch-speaker from Wallonia. He is a quite average man in both build and appearance. He is armed with a Hotchkiss-1914 machine gun, alongside his armour and Browning Hi-Power.

4 Karl Rotden - Private (Assistant Gunner)
Karl is from the small German speaking area in Belgium, but is ardently loyal to his Kingdom. He is armed with a Karabiner 1889: Engineer with a socket bayonet in it at all times.
5 Nicolet Morrois - Corporal (Grenadier)
Nicolet is a rather poor Walloon driven to joining the army for sustenance. He however swiftly rose through the ranks, and now carries a MP28 alongside three Mills bombs.
6 Albrecht Doonfasdt Private (Grenadier)
Albrecht is a quite old Fleming that was sick throughout most of the first world war. As such, the spry old chap sees it as his duty to repay his country by serving now. He carries a Karabiner 1889: Cavalry with a socket bayonet always on and three mills bombs.

7 Johannes Jacobs - Private (Sniper)
Johannes is a rather quiet, and introverted Fleming. He is however rather resourceful, and a great shot which is why he carries a Gewehr 1889 with a 3x telescopic sight and an FN: 1910.

8 Hermann Janssen - Private (Rifleman)
Herman is from a German speaking region in Belgium and is of more dubious allegiance, rumoured by his comrades to hold sympathies with the enemy. Nevertheless, he is sent to the front to fight with a Gewehr 1889 bearing a socket bayonet at all times.

9 Heinrich Declerq - Private (Rifleman)
A happy Walloon, he is quite a chubby middle aged conscript. However he shows promise with a steady hand when shooting and calmly reloading his Gewehr 1889 when under fire, and affixing his socket bayonet if so demanded.

10 Robert de Veld - Private (Rifleman)
de Veld is a Walloon from a prominent business owning family. Despite this, his fierce nationalist feeling made him join the army at once. Only now going to see his first combat, he eagerly awaits tasting kraut blood with his Gewehr 1889 and more than willing to charge the enemy with his socket bayonet should his officer demand it.
