Our Hero Academia: Rising Age of Heroes






It has been nearly ninety years since the birth of the luminescent baby. The world has been thrown in chaos due to the discovery of Quirks, Quirks are superhuman abilities that 80% of the world's population has. Because of Quirks the world has been thrown in chaos for nearly a century, the only stopping the flood gates of humanity destruction and anarchy are heroes. Pro-heroes to be specific. These brave people risk life and limb to protect those in need.

You are determined to become a Pro-hero.

Whatever your reasons, you have the ability and the Quirk, but lack the experience to do so. This is where U.A. High School comes in. At U.A. you will be taught and trained to fight villains and save civilians. But you are still a student after all at U.A., you will be graded and taught as such. In U.A. Grades and status are the same thing. So not only will you be expected to be heroic and brave, but also intelligent and tactical.

Are you brave enough to endure U.A.'s brutal Hero Grading to become A Pro-Hero?











Here's the CS! I will warn you though the more I feel the character is well developed the better the grades will be all around! I don't mind decently strong characters at the start but know that you must have a good reason why they are as strong as you want them to be. If you want a strong starting character you need to work for it! I recommend at least double the bare requirement if you want a strong character! But remember potential is also important in the RP and I will limit the growth of the truly powerful beginners for awhile as a warning to those who want to make powerful first year Students!

Also I will grade your character with the system I made above! Just know I will grade the system as objectively as I can!



Secrets: If you found this this that means you are either very attentive with the extended post with no text text or you like to highlight everything lol If you found this this will be helpful on your quest in the RP!? IC post will be segmented with players involved and This invisible and sometimes coded text will sometimes hide IC information that can potentially help your character! Sometimes I will even put secrets in OOC Posts~ If this becomes too broken of a system I will get rid of it but I think it will be a fun to add to the rp! and it gets people motivated! But also be sure to make this make sense for your character to learn the information of the secret! Each Secret text will give an explanation of how to learn the secret IC

Would you class something like Tokoyami's Dark Shadow as a Transformation or Mutation type quirk or a combination of both? Because his body is always altered but the quirk isn't always active.


I personally class Dark Shadow as a Transformation quirk himself and Tokoyami is a product of a Mutation quirk but never the less Tokoyami would be classed as having a transformation quirk~

Very much incredibly interested! I even have several ideas I am currently running through; I can't decide on one! D: So to get the ball rolling on discussion about characters; here are the ones I am juggling between making..

Sonic
Quirk: Sound wave manipulation. Able to influence the flow and magnitude of sound waves.

Notes: She is actually deaf, but because of her quirk she is able to actually see sound as a wave with designated colors. Because of this she has actually learned to understand the flow of sound waves and can hold conversations without anyone knowing, simply by deciphering the sound waves emitting from people as they speak.

Flux
Quirk: Fluctuating genetic coding. Flux actually has no true quirk to rely on. On a random basis his body slowly changes and develops quirks every few days at random. One day he could hold extreme strength and the next he could be very physically weak but able to throw out blasts of energy. Flux never knows what will come next or when. But with his quirk comes a high level of intuition; able to decipher through instinct how to manifest his new quirk, though it takes time to become proficient. The longest Flux has had any one quirk was a full week, the shortest time with a quirk was 3 hours. Through deductive reasoning Flux has come to the idea that the stronger the quirk is the shorter time he has with it.

Notes: Though Flux's quirk mostly revolves around quirks, on rare occasion he has changed into the opposite gender or an alien form. It's mildly rare but it has happened.
Notes 2: This character is very complicated and will need a lot of explaining and tuning to keep fair. Mostly thinking of keeping close contact OOC with GM to discuss what his next quirk will be and the like.

Beast
Quirk: Beast transformation. Beast is able to transform himself into various animals, often larger than their counterpart and white with crystal blue eyes. Often he relies on his wolf form.

Spark
Quirk: Living Lightning. Spark quite literally has electricity running through her veins. Because of this she is incredibly fast and reactive. Through her quick motions she can generate more electricity and fire lightning with varying strengths.

Notes: Spark has to drink a special liquid to keep herself awake; more important than food and water. Her quirk is very hard on her body and the liquid helps regulate everything and keeps her from burning out.

Zombie
Quirk: Improved physique and regeneration. Though by no means can Zombie tear a building from its foundation or beat spark in a foot race but she is certainly faster and stronger than your average human, maybe even bear. But her true strengths are in her regeneration. Zombie can survive most any damage inflicted on her; to an extent. Though she is vulnerable to fatigue. Her regeneration takes a toll on her stamina and the more damage she takes begins to take longer to regenerate and will wear on her, making her weaker and more sluggish until she can recuperate.

Sparkles
Quirk: Light manipulation, absorption, and emission. Sparkles is able to bend and manipulate rays of light in many different ways. Often condensing light into solid forms she can control. Sparkles quirk is often mistaken for shadow manipulation as her creations are always black as night though that is simply from the light being condensed and held in one area, letting no light out around its form which makes it appear black. She can also use those forms she makes and release all that light suddenly outwardly in various directions like a super charged flash bang; or focus that burst in a direction to make a super hot beam of light. Alternately she can focus light from her hand that becomes a sort of laser that can cut through metal at a close range.

Notes: Sparkles can actually change the color, at least the appearance, of her hair and eyes by altering the light that gets reflect back off those surfaces to give off different colors.
Notes 2: Sparkles has a hail Mary ultimate move in her arsenal. She has only ever been able to maintain it for 3 minutes at full strength but it goes as follows: Condensing light around her body she gives herself a type of power suit. Improving her speed and strength significantly. Her body appears as twisting light and shadows with various sparkles of light, hence her name, that look like the galaxy within a void. these all sound so cool! I especially like Sonic, Sparkles, Spark, Beast, and Flux. I just have a few questions with each Quirk?

Sonic's question is more of a character question. I'm assuming she can speak, right? I'm guessing you will go into details in the CS but I'm curious how she came to learn how to speak~ This should be good to use!

Flux is a very cool sounding Quirk but might be a bit too much of a Wild Card For Pro-heroing but weaker powers has become Heroes. If you do use this Quirk the Quirk tab on your character needs to be constantly updated and changed and that could be a pain. It's possible to use but I need to watch it carefully so it doesn't become a Deux ex machina in the RP. I say a maybe for this

Beast sounds Wild! heheheh but it sounds a little too easy to become OP if he can change into any animal and often larger then the original, maybe a limitation is that he has learn how to adjust to move as different animals which explains why he often uses Wolf form because he's used to moving in that form? But I think this could be great to see running around!

Spark, Spark, I have a soft spot for speedsters! My only question is how fast can she go? I'm putting a limit on speed at the start of the RP at Iida's Recipro Burst. You can go faster and I hope you do~

Zombie is pretty awesome! I'm curious about the limitation of her regenerative ability? Is it deadpool/wolverine levels I'm guessing its so if its called zombie. A near unkillable student. Good thing death isn't gonna be the main concern of the plot for awhile. This letting you know even with the strength and speed this quirk could be rather limiting depending on the other characters since I'm expecting some heavy hitters. But this could be amazing for character development!

Sparkle, I actually have no questions for this Quirk it is simply dazzling! You explain the strength and even a technique rather well just add in some weaknesses and the CS and it will good to go!

My first thought for a quirk was something along these lines:

Quirk Name: Guardian Angel

Quirk Type: Transformer

Quirk Basics: A sentient angelic being exists as a permanent companion to <NAME>, existing for the most part as a visible halo of light above <NAME>'s head. This angel can speak directly into <NAME>'s mind to warn him of approaching dangers and the like while in this form. In fights, <NAME> can take on some semblance of the angel, granting them physical changes and a variety of angelic powers, while at the same time giving up part of their agency to the entity itself.

Quirk Strengths:
  • <NAME>'s ability to pick and choose how much of the angelic form to take on allows them to tailor their powers specifically to each engagement to avoid tiring themselves out by taking on powers they don't need. The primary powers he can call forth are: Angel's Wings (a pair of feathered wings able to carry up to 300kg total in flight without serious strain), Angelic Senses (Can detect lies, increased reflexes, improved sight, smell, and taste), Angelic Physique (increases physical stamina, pain endurance, and physical strength by a great deal), Angelic Arsenal (Can call a flaming sword, bow, and/or whip out of thin air. Can only be touched without harm by <NAME>)
  • <NAME> can call forth limited miracles, such as healing others, casting out individuals who are possessing others, or even in the direst need raising people from the dead
  • Even when completely exhausted, the angel will never need to sleep, and always retains some level of its divine senses, making it extremely difficult to sneak up on or surprise <NAME>, given the constantly watching guardian looking out for them


Quirk Weaknesses:
  • Total Possession can last for only up to three minutes before the angel is completely exhausted, and must return to its halo form to rest until the next sunrise (God's First Light being what gives it power). If the angel is not able to absorb the rays of the dawn, it will remain exhausted until it is next able to see the sun (time is no longer relevant at that point). Depending on how much of the angel's power <NAME> is drawing on, the partial possession can last up to 2 hours for only one power, with each additional power drastically reducing the amount of time before the angel exhausts itself.
  • The angel's miracles can never directly affect <NAME>. He can never directly heal himself, only others around him. Additionally, miracles will cause the angel to become exhausted for a proportional amount of time, with major miracles potentially taking days to weeks for the angel to become strong enough to manifest itself again.
  • The more of the angel <NAME> takes on, the less control he has over himself, on a slowly escalating scale which ends when he fully takes on a Total Possession, where their roles reverse, and <NAME> is simply an adviser rather than fully in control. This may lead to the angel doing things that <NAME> would not wish to do, but the angel will always work toward what it believes to be his interests, and the Total Possession can be stopped at any time, at the cost of exhausting both parties significantly. The angel can choose to take full control voluntarily, but if it does so it can only be as a Total Possession, and the angel can only keep it maintained for 30s before it becomes exhausted.


Quirk Techniques:
  • Total Angelic Possession: The full power of the angel is unleashed, taking on its full form as a searingly bright figure of light with flaming weapons and a terrible visage. Any and all powers are available for use for the full duration of this ability, though no matter how hard the fight is, this form can only last for three minutes, after which the angel is completely spent and retreats to its halo, with <NAME> no longer able to call on any of its power.
  • Angelic Visage: Light spears out from every surface of <NAME>, making them appear larger than life. Foes who look at <NAME>'s face during this time are struck with a deep terror which sears them to their very soul. Friends and bystanders who look upon <NAME>'s face feel calmed and rejuvenated simply by looking at him, though there is no physical benefit or harm that comes to any individual who looks (other than retinal damage for anyone stupid enough to stare at <NAME> for too long
  • Heaven's Fury: Drawing their hands together, <NAME> can draw on the fury of the heavens, manifesting itself as either a cone of white-hot flames or a piercing beam of white light capable of piercing through most objects


I'm not sure on what power level you expect for these characters, so this might be a little much? Please let me know your thoughts and I can tweak and modify this as needed!


This is such an awesome Concept, law but these are all a bit much for one character I can give an idea how to make this character quirk acceptable! Maybe get rid of the heavenly arsenal, Heaven's Fury, and miracles at least for now. We can talk about it more once they have more control and understanding over their quirk. You can keep the others pretty much the same expect the wing's carry weight to 150 kg, also make the lie detection being unable to detect half truths and lastly make it so the character can only access one set of abilities at any one time for now and after that it'd should be good. It just from the sounds of this quirk the character has too much of an understanding of their quirk for being a first year, unless you have a reason why in their CS why they have such an excessive knowledge of their quirk. I like the idea of this quirk being rather terrifying for everybody since Angels are terrifying. But I hope asking all of these isn't too much! The only lore worry is that this Angel is actually supernatural in nature while there is hints of the supernatural in MHA I don't want any thing so blatant such, so is it like Dark shadow? If it is then its fine~

This looks good, I love the amount of thought put into it so far too.

Btw what's the horse looking thing in the background of the picture?

Here's some brief ideas I've been working on for quirks, still haven't decided which one I'm going to use yet though...

Open Sesame: User can create two portals at a time. Stepping into one portal will instantly shift them to the other portal opened. The user can only open portals in his line of sight. User can open one portal, and store anything that is put into it for a limited period of time, he cannot open a separate portal to store more things inside if he's already storing something in one portal. He can only open a second portal to release what's inside, and regain his full abilities.

Can't See Me: User possesses a third eye that is always open. When the third eye looks at a person, that person will be unable to notice that the user exists, but only while the person is in the user's line of sight. It's prone to dry eye, and is particularly susceptible to dust. Obviously the user has to keep the eye covered when out of combat so he can be seen by everyone.

Hungry Hands: User possesses a mutant quirk that created a large mouth on each of their palms. The mouths can eat through anything, regardless of what it is. Whatever the mouths ingest, the user can turn into or expel out of their bodies for a period of time. So for example, if the mouths ate a metal pipe, the user would be able to turn their bodies into metal. If the hands ate an open flame, the user would be able to light their bodies on fire or spew it from any of their three mouths.

Friction Force: The User can increase or decrease friction upon themselves and anything they touch. This ability allows them to increase their mobility by reducing the friction on their feet, allowing them to "slide" around. They can also move on walls and through difficult places by increasing the friction on their feet or hands. Another application of this quirk is enhanced combat and immobilization capabilities by either increasing or decreasing friction of themselves or their opponents.

Polaris: The user has the ability to attract or repel things with his limbs. His left arm and right leg can repel things while his right arm and left leg can attract things. The user can't use the same ability consecutively, so if they were to use the attract ability, they would have to use the repel ability next. The users fighting style revolves around his mobility and ability-enhanced strikes.


These's are all awesome and creative! I especially like Polaris, Friction force, and Open Sesame! I was gonna ask some questions but you describe these wonderfully that I don't feel the need to ask questions about them! Also not just because I'm getting lazy from such a long post xD I can't wait to see which one you go with!


But with all that discussed! I will start working on the OOC tonight!
@Aquaknight I have a question about quirks in this RP. In the original show, they made it a point that there was a serious bias towards physical quirks getting into UA purely because of how the entry exam was built, and that it has probably been that way since UA's founding. Is that going to be a thing in this as well, or are we bending the rules a bit to make all quirk types welcome?


That is a very real concern I will be talking about in the RP. I imagine before the Robots were introduced into the entrance exam non-physical quirks had an easier time getting into the hero course. One of the first plot points in the RP will be the controversial introduction of the robots into your characters' entrance Exam this is indirectly caused by All Might.

As you no doubt know All Might is the Symbol of Peace to the World of MHA but I like to think he wasn't always as universally beloved as he is at the start of the series and this rp takes place a year or two after he became the symbol of peace and fifteen years before the stat of MHA. In the RP, All Might is controversial, many people questioned if the symbol of peace should be a warrior like him, but no matter what people think, he does bring peace to the world. And U.A. High School after all does creates the next generation of Pro-heroes and All Might for all intents and purposes has a Physical Quirk. So U.A. Decided to focus on Physical quirks since the threat of incredibly violence seems to keep the criminals passive.

But due to this being the first year with the robots the villain points distribution isn't as streamlined as the canon series. villains points isn't only given by defeating robots like in the series, there are many different ways to get villain and hero points in the exam. But I will go into more detail once we start the entrance exam~

I'm so busy these next couple months but I really want to play a Hero Academia RP and this one looks so well thought out and fun and I couldn't help but sit here for an hour thinking of a character for it but I shouldn't be putting too much on my platter when I'm going to be this busy but this looks like such a blast to be in and oh why is life so cruel! And I won't demand posting every day so don't worry about that! I'm planning on making this RP a relaxed Long runner and the problem I see with most long running rps at the start is people burn themselves out too quickly so I would recommend at least two slightly longer posts a week (about 2 to 3 paragraphs at least) during plot events and one average length post (1 to 2 Paragraph at least) a week during non plot events~ This is why the CS is a bit longer than normal so people can plan out their characters and seriously get invested with them while making them~

Is that asking too much? If it is I understand I start school myself again next week so I'm trying to make a chill RP to relaxed with when school's being a pain~

I think talking about character concepts will get some hype going! But I say wait to post the CS until the OOC is up! But I'll let you guys know I'm pretty open with Quirks as long as they aren't too op with too few weaknesses~ They can be pretty strong as long as they have clear weaknesses and flaws. The reason why I'm letting rather strong character into the rp is because U.A. is the strongest of the strong and I would like the character to show that in the characters in the RP but the characters are still inexperience teens so they need to learn how to cover their weaknesses and compensate for their personal flaws.

I'm also adding a rule for character creation!

7. It must be possible for every character to beat each other in a fight

Basically this means there should never be a match up where for one character its unwinnable, I'm making this rule since that won't be fun at all for the loser of the unwinnable fight. You have to be able to win though Tactics, guile, brute force, outmaneuvering, outlasting your opponent, any manner of winning as long as it possible for both character's to win! Before you ask it's okay to have an advantage over a character but not be unbeatable to them You also get better grades if you beat somebody who has an advantage over you! So play smart and you will be rewarded!

I don't feel this new rule isn't at all restrictive and in facts makes it more fun so we don't get too many curb stomps and have fun battles where characters have to fight smart and use honed skills and intelligence instead of just overpowering your opponent with brute strength by relying on quirks and nothing else!

But I'm done rambling~ What idea do you have in mind for a character, Saw?
