It was too late to redirect Invading Black Dragon Cham-P's large mass to fly upwards, and too early to launch fire on the trap. Yamato placed his hand inside his scarf.
"Brace, Cham-P. Perform heat propulsion, and then free yourself from this annoyance!" Cham-P then started curling up into a spiny ball of scales, and Yamato jumped upwards. The Beastmaster then threw something below him.
"Awaken, and ascend with your wings of rainbow resplendance, Mirage Silver Falcon Jan-P!" Yamato's fall was caught by Jan-P's majestic wings. With a small blast of fire aimed upwards, Cham-P heated the air under Jan-P's wings, lifting him upwards and out of the building in a move only possible for a person wise in the ways of the fauna.
On the way up, Yamato's eyes came in contact with Orihime's, and as he looked upon her pale and beautiful face and heard her words of hate, he felt something in his chest, something buried long ago and sealed with curses of regret and remorse. He felt a thud, followed by another, and the brooding man knew exactly what this meant. It didn't matter how many years he has hardened his inner self or how much distance he wanted to create between himself and the memories of that happier time; he couldn't escape them. Yamato's demeanor lost its earlier spirit, but he managed to first keep his
composure when talking to Orihime.
"It wasn't like that! Your love was all I ever wanted, and nothing more! Yet you kept clinging on that cursed legacy, and it was something I couldn't accept. For many years I tried to forget and find someone else, but no matter what power I had over beasts of the wild, I had none for the beast of my heart. I couldn't lie to myself. I still love you, and to see someone who once was my betrothed enveloped in such madness, it fills me with the deepest sorrow."Cham-P was now fighting his way out of the trap, with ferocious biting, clawing, and tail sweeping. Though The Puppetmaster's wires were strong indeed, they were but a temporary deterrence to a member of the most powerful, yet also the most reclusive breed of dragons. Dragons of the nightshade hide themselves in the darkest mountains and the deepest caverns of the earth, and sleep for centuries in the void of light, only waking to hunt or to defend their territories against intruders. Cham-P is different in that instead of defending his territory he invades the territories of others with ferocity unseen elsewhere, and thus earned his name and reputation as a king among dragons.
Yamato flew down and jumped off Jan-P, who disappeared into the sky with the cloak of invisibility.
He landed on Steel Red Elephant Maga-Z, just finished crumbling the building Harker used to set his feet on. He knew he couldn't use Maga-Z to destroy the building, since Eos and possibly other prisoners were inside, and he didn't want to risk harming them. So he had Maga-Z puncture holes in the building with his tusks, attempting to hit Orihime's dolls with them.
Atop the building-sized monster of a Deva, Yamato thought of what to say, struggled to continue with his speech as he was in a turmoil of emotion. His true feelings came to the surface sentence by
sentence.
"Orihime...your mind is afflicted, a sickness cast on it by the Puppetmasters. I was young when it happened, too naive to understand the cause for that tragedy. But now I know what must be done. I will cleanse that corruption from you. I will save your soul from the Puppet Plague, and we can be together again...Ori-chan, my lost love."@KoL
