Still looking for a couple more players to play larger ships such as heavy cruisers and battleships
I think I'll take that idea of the Le Fantasque class and use Le Terrible. I can't wait to run circles around everyone.

Go for it! I think with you we'll have our last destroyer for awhile

Oh neat, I'm grabbing the Yukikaze then.

Still though, from what I've been reading, the ships only got sighted starting 2012 and got in full force 2038. Even if we take the start of the re-activation, that was in 1945, and halted because the Admiral code wasn't around.

I'm going off the assumption the Fleet of Fog didn't attack humans until 2039 here, as stated in the OP. 1949 seems like a really weird date in that respect. I'd assume it was 2049, as that's a solid chunk of time after the re-activation of the Fleet of Fog, rather than nearly a century prior.

Facepalms

Whoops! I meant 2039 and 2049. My brain got it mixed up.
@Sola

Awesome character! You're good to post it in the Characters tab.
@Ammokkx

The emergence of the Fleet of Fog in 2039 is still part of the history. 2049 is the year that the last major battle between humans and the Fleet of Fog occured, which is why it is mentioned in Shinano's Bio, resulting in an absolute defeat for humanity.

There are certain ships, such as the Yamato, that I am reserving for the purposes of the plot. If you really want the Yukikaze, I can make it work without much difficulty.
@Walulululuigi

Would be glad to have you!
@Ithradine So have the Phantom Fleet fought in skirmishes with the Fleet of Fog already, then? I'd assume so when you mentioned a possible reason for joining would be having fought them and giving in.

I'm probably not going to go with that route (or maybe I am, pree conflicted on how to construct the BG rn) but it's nice info to have.

Yes it has. There was a period of time when the stealth drive wasn't fully complete and they would run into small patrols of Fog ships.

I'm tempted to make two characters now so I can pull off a merge.

It's certainly possible in the future. For now, just focus on one making one character.

@Ammokkx

The supreme flagship of the Fleet of Fog is the battleship Yamato. When the Admiralty Code is not present, which is almost always, Yamato has complete command over the entire fleet. The Fleet of Fog itself is divided among several smaller fleets focused on guarding specific bodies of land. For example, in the Anime there are the 1st and 2nd Oriental Fleets that blockade Japan. They are led by the flagships Nagato and Kongo respectively. The Fleet of Fog will not attack anything on land but any airfact, spacecraft, or ship will be destroyed by them. The Yamato gave Fog ships the ability to create mental models in the hope of copying Humanity's tactical sense.

The reasons around why a Fleet of Fog ship might defect revolve around the mental model they possess. They were intended to help mimic a specific way of of human thinking but have also allowed the ships to take on a personal identity. Interaction with a Mental Model no longer connected to the Fleet of Fog or having a conversation with a empathetic human are enough to shift their views. For Shinano, she first began combing through human history in boredom after the battle of 2049. This caused her to begin thinking of activities outside of battle. Another caused might be that one of the Fleet of Fog ships had a close bond to one in the Phantom Fleet, and wanted to be with them. It possible they simply asked to be let in or fought them to release the ship, only to be defeated and resign to tagging along.
