Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

@Balthazar007 Yep, that reward system sounds good. And if Alolan Pokemon are available in the wild, does this mean Pikachu, Cubone and Exeggcute can evolve into their Alolan forms? If so, how do we determine this? Is it random in-universe (meaning we can choose), or is there some kind of item that makes them evolve differently?

The answer to that is already in the Manual. Pokemon>Evolution. No item, just make it make sense, like some rare situation that causes the evolution. Creative freedoms.
@Balthazar007 Yep, will mark the Pokemon once it hatches.

Hmm, I'd personally prefer to stick with mission rewards other than just TP (gives missions more variety), including eggs. I mean you can get given eggs in the games, and in the old thread it was the only way to get Alolan forms. It'd feel unfair to be the only one with an Alolan Pokemon.

Alolan forms don't HAVE to be from eggs. They can be found in the wild. They can also hatch from eggs randomly. The same holds true for shineys. And missions don't JUST give out TP; they also give out items (I've updated the "Mission Information" hider to better reflect this).

REMEMBER: Alola is not actually a region here. Neither is Kanto or any other region. This is a completely separate Pokemon dimension. As such, Alolan form Pokemon are basically just rare alternate forms of Pokemon that occur randomly in the wild.

I suppose we could put a hypothetical TP value on eggs so that they can be mission rewards as well. Since eggs hatch tier one Pokemon at level 1 BUT egg hatch Pokemon grow at such a fast rate, I think a value of 20TP is fair enough. I'll put that in the "Mission Information" hider as well.

Yo I'm kinda late to the party but is there still room on this? I've been waiting what seems like forever on a good pokemon RP.

There is always room! Our RP is very detailed, but feel free to ask questions as you go. Once you get it, it's pretty fun to just live as a character in this world.
Nicholas (Nick) Dalton

Central City (River Banks)

Nick stared the new Crabby down. He didn't know what to do honestly. As mentioned, this was his first Pokemon battle. Thinking as hard as he could, he thought of the first move that came into his head. "Um... Feathers. Use Wing Attack!"

Feathers simply nodded its head, still focusing on its opponent. The Crabby was already starting to charge, claws chomping at the bit. Suddenly, Feathers' wings began to glow a bright white, as he took to the air on a direct B-line for the charging Crabby. Feathers' attack collided with the oncoming Crabby's claw, knocking the Crabby back a few feet. It looked more annoyed than damaged though, and was obviously not done yet.

Now flying just out of reach, Feathers' awaited her trainer's next command. "I guess, while you're up there, use Fly!!" Feathers' head tilted off to the left as if to wonder, "How do I damage someone by flying at them?" Regardless of this, she gave it a shot, barreling down toward the Crabby. In preperation, the Crabby raised both of its claws to the sky. Just as Feathers was about to land her attack, the Crabby grabbed her by both the wings and slammed her to the ground. She obviously took some damage.

"Oh no, I didn't mean for that to happen. Don't give up Feathers'." Encouraged by her trainers words Feathers let out an uncharacteristically aggressive GROWL. This surprised the Crabby causing it to let go and back away a step or two. "Quickly Feathers, attack while it's off guard!" To Nick's amazement, Feathers launched a in incredible Quick Attack that landed hard, sending the Crabby tumbling backward into the water.

Feathers fluttered backwards landing on a rock, waiting for the wild Crabby to resurface. Without warning a blast of water came shooting out. "Dodge that Feathers!" Still a little out of breath from her own Quick Attack, Feathers wasn't able to dodge the entire blast, knocking her backwards. With surprising speed, Munchlax jumped forward to catch Feathers, softening her fall. "Munchlax! Munch!"... "Starly?"... "Munch. Munch..." Feathers nodded her head and flew back, landing on Nick's shoulder. The two seemed to have decided to switch on their own.

"Okay, I guess it's your turn now eh, Little Guy?" The Crabby came charging out of the water, its eyes filled with bravery. "Okay, Little Guy! Give him your best shot!" Just as the two Pokemon were about to collide, Munchlax lowered his shoulder for a strong Tackle. The Crabby pinched down on his ear as the he came barreling down upon it. The two of them went rolling across the rocks, both getting beat up in the process, Crabby having to let go. The Crabby took more damage, as Little Guys pudgy physique absorbed most of the impacts.

When the two Pokemon stopped to rest, Nick noticed a crack on Crabby's back. "Oh no!" he thought, running to the exhausted Crabby's side. Crabby looked confused for a moment as Feathers flew down to his side and Little Guy rolled over to sit in a non-threatening position. "You're hurt." Nick said, "Look, we're sorry. We wanted to train, but that crack looks serious. Can I take you to a Pokemon center to get you all healed up?" Crabby looked hesitant for a few moments, but Little Guy seemed to have a few words of reason that loosened it up.

"Crabby!" The wild Crabby seemed happy with this offer, despite the intense battle that had just concluded. Something about this trainer and his Pokemon seemed oddly soothing.

+1 CP = 12 CP
So I said a while ago that I was interested, and that was true, I was just punched in the face by a huge ball of writer's block right after. So here's my character idea, a bit late but still here ^-^.

Cool, you can post this to the "characters" tab. it is approved. Interesting
@Dusksong Good luck with the exam!

@Balthazar007 So, when should the eggs hatch? It's been a few days, so I'm thinking Cici could get her kitten in the morning if that's ok.

All eggs will hatch on the same day of the month that you placed it in your party, one month later (IRL). (E.g. placed in party November 3rd; hatches December 3rd.)

This roughly translates to 12 hours IC. Since we have done a time skip though, you can hatch whenever you like.

Also, two changes to keep in mind. One, from now on, eggs are only available through daycare breeding. Two, mark your hatched Pokemon after they hatch. Hatched Pokemon level up at a double rate (besides rare candy).
@Balthazar007 How am I supposed to RP going to the lab? Am I supposed to RP with a GM playing the professor and/or other important NPCs? Or should I do it all in one big post? I plan to make an IC post in about 12 hours.

The second option. We all control the NPCs in this RP. I'm here for establishing the rules and such, but within IC tab. I'm just another trainer. And you don't have to be super long about it. There are no post length requirements.

<Snipped quote>

Sure. :) It might take a little while for us to be able to RP, though. Kelci should at least get a Pokeball first, if not a Pokemon.

BTW, I approved of your character. You can check the 0th OOC posts and the 0th Character post. So you can remove the (pending approval) from your character sheet hider.

:)
Ok then. I'll get to work on that. In the meantime, would you mind revealing the 2nd knight challenge? It's impossible for me to fail the 1st anyway, so I'll probably just write about how Durwith steamrolls the 1st challenge and then roll for the 2nd.

I'd rather do the roll anyway, just so everyone is clear on how it is handled. If your winning result is only a positive "1" you won't steamroll the enemy (i.e. if you only roll a 2 against the enemy's 1). In that case, the enemy will surprise you and put up a decent fight. Now if you roll a 3 or 4 (4 due to a possible weakness bonus), then you can steamroll the battle. Make sense?
@Balthazar007

Wait. Am I supposed to write as everyone if I'm going at it alone? Because I was actually waiting on you. Usually in RPs like this 1, the players write as their character (along with the occasional minor NPC) and the GM writes as the NPCs the players interact with. Do let me know if this isn't the case for this game.

I'll be busy enough with reading everyone's posts, updating their stats, and updating quest details as you all breath life into the NPCs. (e.g. You named the knight, so I added that into the quest description.) I'd rather not respond to everyone's post and control every NPC at all times.

So yeah, I'll only post when a player takes on a "dice roll" situation, to describe the results. Otherwise, you all, as the players, create the story details and control the NPCs.

@DragonofTheWest@CHammer

Made a post relevant to you both.

I like your IC post, but I'd like to point out something pertaining to the sewer approach some of your troops seem to be taking. This is a quote from my description of downtown:

Today, the sewers beneath downtown overflow with rivers of molten lava, threatening to spread across the entire city.

Maybe they can report this back to you in a later post??
