I scowled at Xerxes the moment he spoke of cowardice. How dare he call me such things. True I stayed out of the fighting at prison, but that was only because of the blur of the moment and the fact that these pirates already had much of it under control, there was no reason for me to kick the dead horse that was the marines. I would give a faint growl, almost tempted to transform and wipe that cheeky grin off of his face, however against better judgement I would silently sheathe the lance back over my back, knowing full well that regarless of the victor a battle between us would destroy the ship. Seeing as Xerxes had no intent to actually kill anyone, I would make my way back towards the captain.
I'd give bogard a full bow, getting onto one knee and placing my armored knuckle against my bowed head as if I was pledgling to a king. "Captain Bogard, I am Jacak Ventmaw at your service, what is the motto of your crew? what makes you lot pirates, and what are your personal goals?" I asked upfront, despite my demanding questions I would keep a calm voice and bowed, respectful position. Unfitting for a pirate.
When I boarded the bus, so much was on my mind. I had taught myself the common language, raised my own fire and strength without guidance or assistance, but now, after the struggle lasting over a decade, I finally had a place to further my experience more so though then I could do on my own in 10 years, 'Although I am so grand.'. I had briefly looked over my fellow monsters, they had parents, a home to go to after every day, and seemed like they fitted in well. These uniforms weren't exactly comfortable, and are true forms are forbidden in this school, then again I suppose its to help blend in with those cowarding humans we will be learning about. I suppose they are fascinating in their simplicity and mortality, nonetheless, this was it. I was ready to add to my experience.
All dragons are reptiles, closely related to lizards and snakes (squamatas). Dragons have undefined lifespans, age itself has never claimed the life of a dragon, nor do dragons weaken with age, in fact its quiet the opposite. Every dragon, even those that relate with snowy environments or lack any sort of fire ability, have an innate affiliation with fire, and as such they cannot be burned or damaged by heat. All dragons have some sort of magical or spiritual aura, and their biology reflects much of that energy. not all dragons are intelligent, or capable of speaking. Many act like animals or even lack sentience altogether, while others while sentient are unable to speak or are knowledgeable of a language. Lastly, dragons are often born with at least 1 of the seven sins; greed, wrath, lust, sloth, envy, pride, and gluttony. Not all dragons are evil and there are plenty of dragons that could be considered good or benevolent, however they still suffer from at least one of these sins. Pride, wrath, greed, and gluttony are the most common sins.
Dragons have varying traits and forms to the point that almost every dragon is unique. However all dragons can be classified as one of the following:
Hellkites (typical six limb dragons, 4 legs and a pair of wings.)
Drakes (Wingless 4 legged dragons)
Wyverns (Two legs and two wings)
Basilisks (Often resemble lizards or snakes, usually having no more then 4 limbs, and rarely do any have wings. However most basilisks have some form of toxic property such as acidic saliva or a venomous bite, and can turn people to stone by looking into their eyes.)
Cockatrices (bird-like dragons, often resembling a cross between a basilisk and a Wyvern)
Wurms (serpentine dragons, rarely have any limbs, and many vaguely resemble reptiles. Often both gigantic in length and diameter, they are rarely sentient. Some resemble snakes.)
Tarragons (Like hellkites but are bipedal, some may have forms that could resemble a dinosaur.)
Drakkens/draconians (Dragons with a humanoid posture and build, often ranging between 5'11 to 9'10 in height, they are as varying in appearance as any other dragon, though all drakkens are sentient)
Longs (Asian styled dragons, serpentine and with 4 limbs, though wingless they can usually fly as if they defy gravity. Longs are often the most intelligent of dragons and usually are more involved with spiritual energy then magic.)
Drosians (dragons that do not fall under any other category are Drosians.)
Elemental, Fae and hydra dragons are mutation-like traits that happen within individuals regardless of type. Elementals often are more magical then biological, for example they may have a shell of ice over a frail naked body, or an armor of lava-flowing stone instead of scales. The weakness of an elemental are the opposing elements, for example fire can weaken the magic significantly of an ice elemental dragon, although dragons cannot burn the heat against those of ice can render them unconscious. Hydras are dragons with multiple heads, some can even regenerate new heads. The number can vary within 2 to a thousand, though it is rare for a hydra to have anymore then 20 heads. The heads of hydras are either each independent heads, or are all one conscience. Fae dragons tend to have butterfly-like wings and generally have fairy-like traits, they also are usually quiet small, they have various magical qualities that can be attributed to fairies as well.
Being cold blooded, most dragons are vulnerable against cold conditions and attacks of the sort, with exceptions of dragons that have an affiliation with it. Dragons usually have tough scales that act as natural armor, though their bellies tend to be of soft scutes and scales that are the Achilles heel to their physical defense. Dragons have a hard time of overcoming their sins, affecting their personalities and decision making.
Most dragons can regenerate naturally at great rates. They can regrow a loss limb or tail within a few months, large wounds can heal in weeks, however if they are fatally wounded something else must keep them alive in order for them to recover on their own. Some elemental dragons can regenerate certain factors seemingly instantly, and many hydras can also heal most wounds in minutes. While many dragons have access to magic, their breathe weapons are usually from biological factors instead of magic, though many have sortof blended or amplified their breathe attacks with magic. The most common breathe weapon for dragons is fire. While dragons are affiliated with fire, they are not completely immune to it. While they cannot be burned or damaged by heat alone, the force from flames can knock them back with enough force, and elemental dragons that are weak against fire will start to loose conscienceless and magical power against great amount of heat.
Most dragons are capable of great strength and speed, attributing to their massive size. Dragons with forked tongues have a great sense of smell like most lizards and snakes.
Dragons are considered scourges to both humans and monsters, and even benevolent dragons can be criticized or faulted for crimes of their kin. Dragons vary greatly in power, though only those that can communicate and have a sentient intelligence can attend the school, and as such the monster world classifies them as S Class, since most dragons that have these qualities are powerful enough to qualify this ranking. However not all dragons are so strong, as some can be as low as a D class.
Most dragons are territorial, often fighting with other dragons for areas both in social constructs or in savage wilds. However some dragons form broods, or clans. A single or pair of dragons often hold authority either by brute force or wisdom over other dragons, and creating family ties within them. As such broodlings tend to resemble closely to the leading dragon.
Whelps are dragons that are under 100 years old, and is also used as an insult to dragons. Despite variety dragons are quiet rare both in numbers and interactions with others. Even among monsters dragons tend to keep to themselves or their broods, rarely interacting with other monsters except when they wish to consume them or burn down their society.
Appearance:
5'11
67 feet long.
Backstory: Jackal was born from fire, he never knew his original parents, but he was born a fire elemental hellkite. Being without any parenthood or guidance he raised himself for a bit over a decade before enrolling in the Yokai high school.
Bio: He is a dragon of iron-like scales and various fire attacks. He was born from the sin of pride and wrath, and as such he constantly overestimates himself and underestimates others, especially those that aren't dragons. He can easily become enraged though he tries to work on his short temper, a flaw he intends to fix as soon as possible. Otherwise, he seeks both knowledge and to socialize with other creatures that many prideful dragons would deem either food or fools. While he boasts of his draconic lineage he does wish to become more social with other monsters and try to leave behind his kin.
Abilities and weaknesses: He possesses a forked tongue like most dragons, and being a fire elemental he has great magic of fire abilities, and an amplified breathe weapon. He can move at great speeds, especially at flight, and even in his human form he can lift a few tons without trouble. It should be noted that his human form lacks much of the power, speed, and magic potency his original form has. His scales are like iron, with the exception of the belly which is as vulnerable as human skin. He suffers against temperatures below 60 degrees F, and while he can heat up his own body with fire, he can only do this for 10 minutes before passing out from exhaustion. Ice magic and similar powers work very effectively against him, as they can not only damage him but weaken his magic as well. His prideful attitude can make him poorly judge his opponents or obstacles and can lead for him to make a careless mistake or walk right into a trap, and if enraged while he becomes more wild and ferocious, he is much more easier to trick and 'toy' with, exhausting more energy while enraged leads him to get tired out faster.
@olcharlieboi Jackal's magic only extends to his amplified breathe and some other small fire attacks like igniting his own body in flames. Otherwise most of his strength his physical strength and speed.
Edit: Im suprised we havent seen a werewolf or anything yet.
@olcharlieboi I should also mention that since Jackal is a teenager he is a whelp, or juvenile, in terms of dragon aging, which means while he has the potential to be one of the strongest monsters during the rp span he isn't quiet on that level yet. I do like the idea of dragonsbane, that wasn't something I thought of. Ironically magic is also a good way to fight against dragons, even against elementals dragons are superior with physical superiority and aside from heat they aren't really immune to anything else, although they do have a lot of physical resistance.
I also like the sealing idea you proposed, as that not only limits dragons further but I can make that sort of involved with Jackal's birth.
Edit: and yeah, Drosians have the potential to be that strong, not guaranteed, a drosian could also be a weak lizard-like dragon the size of a dog.
Also that idea interests me, when thats up let me know!
@olcharlieboi Yeah dragons are very rare, I prefer to keep it that way. I like the idea where dragons are potentially the strongest creature but are so few in numbers and have so little influence in the world that they are neither the most major of threats nor so commonplace in the world for them to be rampant or well known other then from legend.
Edit: On that note I typically shy away from dragon based rps since it kind of breaks that rarity on dragons.
@olcharlieboi I didn't want to go too indepth with other dragon types, just to give you the basic idea of its variety. And yeah the thing with drakkens is that they can either have abilities like draconians, or not. Even with dragons of the same type, power, size, and magic varies greatly, not including the mutations of hydra, elemental, and fae that each type can receive. Drosians are technicly the strongest dragon type, as they can potentially harbor god-like abominations of absurd power and form.
