Will be away for three days - near to absolutely no internet. I'm afraid.

OH MY GOOOOOOD

I can't think of a character concept

It's either

- Military surgeon that happens to have an interest in exotic animals

OR

- Astronomer that happens to have an interest in occult magic and strange religions
I do have an idea for a former-adventurer-turned-cartographer-and-monster-researcher, but I'm worried he might be a little OP since he combines the physical ability and intense field experience of an adventurer, and the knowledgeable, thorough nature of a scholar.
I have a bit of a problem here. Most of the categories that scholars usually fall into have been taken.

We have:
- A general (military history)
- A nun (religion and, in this case, different cultures)
- A bard (folklore and knowledge of the common people)
- Whatever Deles Tro specializes in (he comes from a monastery, religion?)
- An archaeologist (artifacts, ancient civilizations, architecture, man Raziel is lucky)

Are there any other categories of knowledge that King Alem I would take interest in?
Hello!

This looks like an interesting format for an RP, and I need something to remove me from my four-month-long hiatus.

I have two character concepts that I am considering playing:

- An elderly retired adventurer that has resigned to documenting the beasts and monsters he has encountered on his travels,

or

- A cocky, clever chemist with a history of working for numerous royals and nobles as a "doctor" (read: poisoner)

Quick question: are flintlock and percussion cap firearms still in use? Or have we moved on to the revolver and the bolt-action rifle?

EDIT: Ah, sorry, we're in the Napoleonic era apparently.
Just curious - are nukes still effective? What are the kinds of WMDs now?
So, uh... am I good?

Are numbers still necessary? This is my first NRP, and I'm not used to calculating military strength through statistics.

I think I might have to revise my CS a bit, I seem to have overlooked the severity of the rareness of oil. Also I found out that liquid hydrogen and not oil powers spaceships, so they have a point on that there.

*sputters*

Alright, screw Alaska, I'll do something else. Maybe Southeast Asia, Central America or Tibet will suit me better.
Numbers have been reduced to what I hope looks more realistic. Also altered Alaska's economy and tech levels to make way for new sources of energy.

pls come back guys

*raises hands in surrender*

*steps away*

*sits down somewhere and waits for something to happen*

EDIT: Checking my numbers now, it seems I might have been in err.
Accepted. Please put your sheet in the Char tab.

Well, I guess sooooo. In a PM.

Hey, this is science fiction - it might still be science, but there's still some fiction in it. We're here to have fun telling a story, not to realistically predict the future.

FYI: The US of A currently has 1,400,000 active frontline personnel. I know that includes fighter pilots and Navy crew, but Imma still trying to emphasize Alaska's strength through numbers to make up for its technological deficit.

If all my numbers are wrong, then screw this site.
