Bio
Just a small, fragile birdboy with a huge beak. I used to be Manapool, but we don't talk about those days. I have been here a while if you couldn't tell.
In all honesty, I am 25 and in a committed relationship outside of roleplay. I work as a cook who works nights. I'm a big fan of seeing people's food they make and learning about new foods if you ever want to share. I enjoy tabletop games, card games, and video games as well as reading comics in my spare time. Your typical nerd, you might even find me at conventions!
Most of the time I stick to Superhero groups and Play by post D&D here. I have admittedly begun taking far fewer rps. I prefer Fantasy and Superheroes as a genre but I find myself more and more interested in interested in Sci-fi settings too! My main fandoms are Fallout, Kenshi, and Marvel but I have a lot of niche interests like Hylics, Neopets, and Monster High. Do you have a strange fandom you want to rp? I am the kind to at least take a look at the source material!
These days I am closer to a low to mid Casual roleplayer. I want at least a paragraph from replies and don't mind dipping lower than casual if it fits the flow better. I am capable of writing decent long posts but expect me to take eons to reply. I also must warn you that I tend to lose a lot of steam in the winter months.
@Balthazar007 I was hoping to have this be a little after he's started his adventure and I did intend for him to be getting ready for his first gym.
As for where I start, I haven't thought about that. I reckon that I'd want to be closer to where the other players might be, but I don't know where that is.
Welcome! My name is birdboy and while I am fairly new here, I like to imagine I am a veteran roleplayer. I usually take more of a Gamemaster stance in my roleplays, often stepping away from my own characters to play other NPCs or to be the environment around you so that I may create storylines and arcs within our roleplay. I was hoping to shake the rust off my skills by starting a good, old fashion academy roleplay. They're a dime a dozen, but you never can resist them, can you?
Below is the plot that this roleplay revolves around. It's a lot so there is a shorter version below it.
In 2077 a UFO crashed into Union city, NY and shrouded the town in a strange, silver mist. The destruction was catastrophic, with measurements predicted the object to be upwards of 600 tons. Seeing the destruction and shockwaves that rumbled the very ground from the impact, the united states declared this a national emergency and poured resources and manpower onto the issue quickly and effectively. the results of hard work were that the damage was minimized and casualties were drastically cut down. The town itself was heavily irradiated and quarantined for scientific study.
Months passed since everyone had been evacuated before the first 'oddities' began to pop up around the world. People who survived or came into contact with the mist would sometimes mutate or gain powers of various proportions and sources. The only variable that was the same was their connection to the Union city mist. The number of people affected this way where far and few between, but super-powered mercenary groups and gangs slowly began to crop up around the world. Soon, powers came to be seen with fear and resentment. Many countries went as far as to ban all known 'oddities' as they were called.
Enter Doctor Franz Muller. A self-made millionaire banking off of his advances in DNA Study and alteration and automated surgery. As if from nowhere, he reveals a large institution with an impressive campus located far up in the Alps. He reveals it by sending personally written letters to 175 different families with one or more 'oddities' living in their home. He offers them to either join his staff if eligible or enroll anyone of 12-19 years of age into what he describes as "A school that will put Socrates to shame".
He calls the school 'Empyreus Academy', and agrees to pay for all expenses that the children may need covered (Plane tickets, eating/drinking, medical needs, etc.). Franz seems to be genuine and true in his desires to just help these children, but his actions seem all too fishy. Is he up to something? Only those select few who join may ever know.
Big UFO crashed into a city and destroyed it. survivors got powers but became societies rejects. Then a rich guy suddenly has a school for some to attend.
DA RULES 1. What I say goes, I am the dude that started this after all. 2. None of the 'metagaming, powerplaying, etc' stuff. Let's have fun 3. make a narrative! I have problems with this a lot. It's fine to have a shorter reply or to not know what to do, but please remember that we are trying to progress and make a story. Be ready to lose sometimes, feel free to have different kinds of relationships: be they romantic, platonic or even as rivals. 4. You can have up to 2 characters, use them wisely 5. Yada yada, you get it. I'm sure you've all seen thousands of these.

Name: Ezra Hill Home: Pikeville, Kentucky Appearance: Personality: Ezra is an energetic young pup who's eager to prove himself and determined to make it happen. Still, he's brash and undisciplined which leads to him letting emotions overcome logic at times. He's loyal and always willing to help, even when it's hard.
Biography: Living out in the woods gave Ezra an early look into the life of pokemon. Like most other kids in Pikeville, he started to wander in the hills and hiking trails or swim in the rivers when, and this way he was the pokemon in their natural habitat. when he was 7, Ezra saw two teens battle with their pokemon in the while one of his hikes. The experience lit a fire in him, and with nothing but a net and a few pokeballs, he managed to catch a big type on his own. He took it on hikes and it protected him from any wild pokemon that would attack. As he grew older and others gained pokemon, Ezra enjoyed frequent battles after class. By the time he was nearing the age where his pokemon adventure would start, he was already considered one of the best in his school. At sixteen, his parents saw no reason to keep him waiting and got him a trainer's permit. Now, packed with pokeballs and food for the road, he's set off hoping to see the world and gather a whole team of powerful friends.
