Bio

Just a small, fragile birdboy with a huge beak. I used to be Manapool, but we don't talk about those days. I have been here a while if you couldn't tell.

In all honesty, I am 25 and in a committed relationship outside of roleplay. I work as a cook who works nights. I'm a big fan of seeing people's food they make and learning about new foods if you ever want to share. I enjoy tabletop games, card games, and video games as well as reading comics in my spare time. Your typical nerd, you might even find me at conventions!

Most of the time I stick to Superhero groups and Play by post D&D here. I have admittedly begun taking far fewer rps. I prefer Fantasy and Superheroes as a genre but I find myself more and more interested in interested in Sci-fi settings too! My main fandoms are Fallout, Kenshi, and Marvel but I have a lot of niche interests like Hylics, Neopets, and Monster High. Do you have a strange fandom you want to rp? I am the kind to at least take a look at the source material!

These days I am closer to a low to mid Casual roleplayer. I want at least a paragraph from replies and don't mind dipping lower than casual if it fits the flow better. I am capable of writing decent long posts but expect me to take eons to reply. I also must warn you that I tend to lose a lot of steam in the winter months.

Do we want level 1 feats?
Let me precident this by stating the obvious: I know that everything I am about to write is dorky. You're right to gawk but don't be a jerk and bash other people's fun!

It was staggering to see the speed faerieland was rebuilt. Only a decade ago the floating landscape crashed into the ground, leaving the people scattered and the country destroyed. Now the fallen city has been rebuilt on its foundations. Nowhere else in all of Neopia matches the luxurious city and its thriving economy. After rumors spread that King Altador had destroyed the darkest faerie once and for all, Queen Fyora felt content putting all her resources into rebuilding the country itself, rather than its army. It seemed as though nothing could stop the faeries from bringing their city back to the clouds. Great wizards from all across the world had gathered here to help in the magical affairs. There was no doubting that things looked good for the faeries.

But looks can be deceiving.

Meanwhile, in Brightvale, Lord Hagan and his court all diligently work in a lab. A faerie with dulled skin, sunken eyes, and withered wings watch on as they test various samples of her blood and skin. The test isn't conclusive, only reaffirming what they know: her elemental magic had been completely drained from her. She was a grey faerie, the first one in nearly a century. Her story was troubling still: a group of brutish Lupes had taken her to the haunted woods, where experiments were done on her by a mad chai. They drained her powers from her with a bizarre machine. Who this strange group remained a mystery, but Hagan smelled trouble afoot.

Lord Hagan was a wise man, and he knew not to waste his element of surprise. No one knew he had the faerie in his castle, and he sent out his spies and diviners to gather information. Rumors of a number of kidnappings revealed a secret society, and worse yet, Hagan was able to identify a few members of Lord Darigan's court. Hagan couldn't risk a full-on war, but using his hefty wealth as an incentive has begun recruiting 'neutral' adventurers to deal with the problem without involving his kingdom. The group of adventurers gathers at Hagan's castle now, preparing for a foreshadowed 'test' to see who is worthy.

  • Gain a feat at level 1!
  • Use Standard Array please!
  • Players will be starting at level 3
  • Bring all homebrew classes to the group to decide upon, leave backgrounds open for your Neopet's 'paint'
  • This is a current list for Neopet races but please feel free to talk to me about editing it: docs.google.com/document/d/1-CYA6QaeO…

Can't wait to get this started!
@Olive Fontaine I would be fine with it as long as the other players don't mind! Take it up with them too!
@Olive Fontaine
I'll get a post started soon enough! Looks like we have enough potential players!
@Olive Fontaine we are in the same boat, this is my first time dming anything neopet based! Make your summons what you want but most likely they would be some sort of ghost, neopet, petpet or other creature in neopet lore!
@Digizel I have a bias towards fighters but the scorchio sounds interesting to me.
@Moon Man You would be playing a neopet unless you really want to be a faerie!

@Digizel I can 100% agree with certain skills or abilities changing or not changing with morphing potions and I think we will change that as we go along, I talk with my players a lot and I think our small group can reasonably deal with this when/if it shows up. For all we know you guys may never use a morphin potion!

Regarding a neopet's 'color' I was going to have these take the place of backgrounds. Eventually each part of neopia would have a background and the other more miscellaneous brushes (glowing, pirate, mutant, etc) would likely have their own backgrounds.

I am aware of Balthazar and he may or may not be making a cameo ;) so be ready for a tough fight!
@XxFellsingxX I think I mostly intend to design them as we go along. I am not exactly happy with the homebrew races I found. Here are the races I found though if you would like to get a general idea of what your race Might be like.

By the way, Ixis are adorable! I personally am a big fan of Meerca!
@Digizel Those were my thoughts exactly. Fairy Blessings or powers given by say the Shrine to Coltan or something similar for Clerics. Paladins can follow that or be flavored into basically an eldritch knight or still stick with the following code of honor for power that 5e suggests.

We are fairly similar in that regard. I play the same classes and always want the weirdest spells as a spellcaster. I lean more towards paladins because I like to buff my teammates a lot. The flying thing will be something I would definitely have to work around, but I was aware of it. Depending on who joins we may not even have a flying neopet on the team though.

Wow, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually notice this, let alone actually be interested. I would be amiss if I didn't mention how giddy I got when I one day noticed that there were people talking on my topic! Thank you guys, I was very sad when months went by and I had practically forgotten my plans.

@Digizel I definitely need a master of the lore. I myself am not an expert on that and could really use someone to consult with. I am aware of the Darkest Faerie game but only know the basics of it. I'd love to get a history lesson someday! More importantly, I would love to get some second opinions on homebrew Neopet races, as I used a set someone else made that I slightly edited.

@XxFellsingxX Glad you held out! What race and class would you want to play? I am interested!
