Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Meal? Benjamin looked from the shadow to the woman in the lab goat, he smiled as if she had received a present.
"Thank you," Lily said to the figure. "Thank you so much. You are much more reliable than those agents are." She clapped her hands in delight. "Oh, this is wonderful." She gestured to two underlings. "Take him to his room."

The two guards took Benjamin and dragged him along, putting him in a holding cell. Benjamin tried to resist, but was no match for them. He stumbled into the cell when they pushed him and turned around when they closed the door. "Let me out!"

It was reassuring to know even Harriet didn't know much about angels and demons and Mike relaxed a little. It was good to hear Freya was improving.
"A witch?" he asked. "Where?" He was certain he hadn't met a witch before. "How do witches use magic?"
He thought back to what he had learned about them, but the topic hadn't come up yet, nor did he know if the Agency hunted witches or considered them allies.
The half-Oread next to him continued to speak, but it was a friendly voice at least. "Trevor," he replied when Skagi introduced themselves and with a nod of his head agreed to join them and have a look at the instruments.

Before they got to that, the priestess spoke. At least she came to the point quickly, Trevor could appreciate that. He narrowed his eyes at the comment that seven wouldn't be allowed to leave the island. He was definitely not going to be among those. Whatever it took.
One of the men in the crowd spoke Trevor's mind, why would they trust an elf? He knew he didn't. A frown creased his forehead when the elf spoke of a beast awakening that had to be defeated.

"Tame dragons?" he repeated and watched the eggs be revealed. "Tame dragons?!"
He gritted his teeth, someone was definitely going to pay for this. Ordering him to go here, where he was now faced to either never leaving this place (as if he would let that happen) or tame a dragon. He knew nothing of dragons except for some stories, and none of those stories had painted dragons in a good light. A beast they had to fight, and beasts had to be used to do it. So be it. Whatever would happen, he would not be among the losers.
Fenna sat on the cart, watching the trees go by. While her shoulder was bandaged, the wound still hurt and the many bumps in the roead didn't make her more comfortable. Sil soared high in the sky, going ahead and circling back. Fenna knew exactly where she was without looking up, but she did anyway to admire the bird. With very little to do, her mind wandered to a vacation with her family, where they had done a sightseeing tour with in a wagon pulled by ponies. The children had loved it. She thoughtlessly rubbed the crystal on her hand. People had called her a hero, but she hadn't even done this for them. Of course she wouldn't hesitate to help a person in need, but her goal was to get that message. It felt like the next step towards going home. There had to be a way, whatever brought them here should return them. She hoped.

In an attempt to stop herself from thinking about their world and the people she left behind, or their uncertain future, she turned to MacKensie while Zell and Barracker were discussing Gods and afterlives. "After the hospital I'm going to find a glass of that champagne-like drink they served us in the clothes shop and drink to the demise of the water ninja," she said. Maybe after that find a place that could mend her armour, or get something new. Either way, it was good they were heading back to Valheim.
While Marc got lost in the files, Benjamin continued his conversation with his companions. He pondered Ari's question, but had to shrug in the end. "Somewhere normal patients can't come," he told her. "I don't know where Ray is, but she has to be somewhere. Somewhere behind a locked door and I'm pretty sure there is a kitchen in the basement, maybe down there somewhere?" He had an apologetic look on his face. "I'm sorry, I really don't know where you can go."

Down in the basement, one of the staff entered the room where Ray was being kept to check her vital signs and take a blood sample. They monitored her closely for any changes and noted all the effects they could see. They had learned to administer a smaller dosage of the experimental tranquillizer after the last patient they had here.
"Are you awake?" the nurse asked. "How are you feeling?"
Two more weeks before the deadline!
It happened too fast. Something pushed him into the shadows and Benjamin tried to yell but it felt like something was covering his mouth. His eyes were wide open and he tried to break free, but the struggle was futile.

Mike looked up when he heard Harriet. "We've done a lot of talking and some research. I realised I know very little of angels and demons and I'm not sure how I feel about all the information I got today. My head feels like I spent a whole day at school, but I still have most of the day ahead of me." He checked his watch, Benjamin should be there soon. "How was your day so far?"
When was the last time he had a moment with Harriet alone? Had he had one? So much had happened the past few days he wasn't sure.
The ever-energetic Primeape started jogging around the camp. Merlin watched him go and sighed.
"You two can't catch me!" he said when he noticed the small ones doing more playing than eating.

Netherlu joined Gavin and Andy. "Mgoof stuff," he said with his mouthful, eating of the heated up meal Michael had prepared. "You humans lack a lot of strength, but your innovation in technology and food is admirable." He glanced at the sky when Gavin did as well. "The sky is pretty, but it's too dark for me to fly. I like the sun on my feathers. I'm most stunning when the sun is orange and close to the horizon."
"I'd say my brother agrees," Andy commented. "He saw you flying once."
"It wouldn't be fair to not show myself to humans from time to time. Everyone needs some beauty in their life."
"Would you believe it that when I expressed a similar sentiment, after professor Maple said "I see you finally showed yourself again", her reaction was a glare and "get back to work"?"
Netherlu gasped and took Andy's shoulder. "She should feel blessed to have you around."
"I told her that! Then she sent her Haunter after me."
Netherlu laughed.

Michael saw Niccia close her eyes. "Tired?" he asked. "It was a busy day."
He knew he could sleep, although he wasn't sure what time it was. On the other hand, it didn't matter. He turned to Eros. "I bet you never slept outside yet. Do you think you'll manage?"
The villages had done a good job at treating her wounds, but Fenna knew her shoulder would need a visit to the hospital. Her legs were fine, but her wounds ached so she choose to remain seated for the time being. She smiled when Clive joined her, addressing Sil first. The man was polite, even to a bird. "I'm blessed to have her," she said in reply to his comment about how watchful Sil was, although she didn't comment on the remark about how worried he was for her. It was kind he did, it meant he cared. During the battle she had focussed on defeating their enemy, not on how it would make others feel if she got hurt. She recalled their conversation and nodded. It made sense what he said.
"Your father sounds like a wise man," she commented.

When MacKensie spoke up, she turned her attention to her fellow ranger. Both Adam and Clive gave their opinion on the matter.
"I agree," she said on her turn. "It's no use staying here, we should head back. The people here are kind but can't fix my shoulder. I too want to go back as soon as we can. There is a message waiting for us."
Trevor stood in the atrium, arms folded and his eyes moved around to take every detail. Someone was going to pay for this.

First they had knocked on his door saying they brought orders from the capitol. He had closed the door on them. They continued knocking and it wasn't until they threatened to remove the door that he opened it again. With unkind words he told them he wasn't interested in any orders, he had left that life behind. The leader of the group failed to persuade Trevor. Neither bribing nor threatening helped, but when one of the soldiers spoke, one that had once served under Trevor, and told him he didn't know what this was about but he knew it was important, Trevor took the letter. The stamp seemed genuine, just as the handwritten names of the important people who signed it. It was vague, too vague for his liking, but he read the urgency between the lines. He had begrudgingly agreed to accept the order, after he made them promise this would be the last time they would bother him with trivial nonsense like this ever again.

After he accepted the soldiers stayed as guards. He ignored them. Then the travel on boat came during which he was treated as some kind of prisoner. He barely spoke to any of the soldiers, it had become clear they either didn't know anything, or had very clear instructions to not say a word about it. The travel was fine for the most part, the solitude of his cabin wasn't unlike the self-sought solitude of his house.

He had accepted the blindfold in silence and allowed them to lead him somewhere. This Atrium, guarded to keep others out or to keep them in, and filled with people who were once considered his enemies. He knew the colour of their blood and he didn't trust any of them. When spoken to, Trevor turned to the person next to him. Oread. No, half-Oread. He only glanced at him, before going back to glare at the human priest and whatever rank the Elf next to him had.
"I was very comfortable at home, this better be worth it," he grumbled.
I'll try to post tomorrow.
