The legend has it that it was written by the dark ones: Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, roughly translated 'Book of the Dead'. The origins of the book trace back... Back to the days when spirits ruled the Earth and the seas ran red with blood. This blood was used to ink the book, and it was bound in human flesh. This book, speaking of demons and the dark ones, was lost in the year 1300 AD. It was said to be destroyed, but truly it lay buried in a forest, as it has for seven hundred years... Waiting.

In 1981, a professor, his wife and two assistants found the book while excavating in northern England. The professor and his wife took the book to an isolated cabin in Oregon, where the professor studied it and researched it. And, after thirty-four years, the man could finally translate the passages and unwittingly unleashed something evil in the woods. This something was...

THE EVIL DEAD


And now you and your friends from the university decide to spend Spring Break at the very same cabin, only two weeks after the tragedy... And it is here that the rivers of the forests, like the oceans of long ago, will run red with blood.
Your blood.

So, now that we have backstory and shite out of the way, here's a roleplay based on Sam Raimi's legendary horror-comedy series about teenagers who go to a cabin, unleash demons, and then maybe get killed.

Combat is simple; each attack, I'll roll a six-sided die. A two is required to hit, with three adding no damage, while four and five add 1 more point to damage. A six will be a critical, adding 3 points to damage. Most enemies will have anywhere from 15 to 25 health, bosses (which won't appear often) will have 30 to 45 health, and the final boss will have 60 health. You all start with 20 health, and every time you kill an enemy you gain 1 health.

Soooo... That's that.


Lastly, few-liners WILL be allowed. If your schedule gets to be hectic (I.E. you can't access the site often) then you can post one-liners.

Personality: Subhas is outwardly a friendly, approachable man. Indeed, it's not rare for students or even faculty to come to him for advice or simply a friendly ear. However, beneath it all he boils with resentment, envy, and hatred. He feels that he has been unfairly denied the things he wants and deserves, but keeps it all in check behind a milquetoast and soft-spoken personality.

Bio: Born in Mumbai in 1958, Subhas Mukherjee was a smart and precocious child who seemed destined for great things. However, his life seemed to be run by his domineering father- for instance, his vocal early crushes on male Bollywood stars and other boys were quickly beaten out of him. He grew up suppressing his own sexuality, forcing himself to be attracted to women (though he never married or had a serious relationship).

An excellent student, Subhas managed to gain admission to a medical school in Kolkata and studied for a medical degree, aiming to become a general practitioner. He studied diligently and graduated with honors. Like many of his peers, Subhas went overseas hoping to find meaningful employment. In his case, he hoped to practice medicine in the United States and gain respect and fortune.

It didn't quite work out that way. Virtually everywhere he applied at refused to accept his foreign medical degree. It took four years of applications up and down the West Coast, but ultimately Subhas ran out of patience (and savings) in Springfield, Oregon after being rejected by the McKenzie-Willamette Hospital. Without funds, he was forced to swallow his pride and take a janitorial job at the Fatehaven Academy, picking up after a bunch of spoiled brats who didn't appreciate what they had.

Having given up his dream, Doctor Subhas Mukherjee has spent nearly 25 years in this position. While he has found some satisfaction and pride in the job, he understandably can't help but feel his life was meant to be something better. Denied his dream job and any sort of romantic or sexual gratification, he keeps his resentment and anger in check and is seen as a harmless, wise old man.

Skills:
Medical Degree- It might be thirty years out of date, but the basics still apply. Subhas keeps up by reading medical journals and textbooks, and is able to competently treat injuries or ailments.

Custodial Experience- You don't spend 25 years in the same place without learning a thing or two about the campus. Knowing which door sticks, where to hide small items, and how to keep the outdated boiler from exploding can come in handy. Not to mention he's got the skill to make basic repairs or improvisations from minimal resources. 

Weaknesses:
Instability- Subhas has been building anger his entire life that has never truly been released. He feels he's missed out on life and that the world owes him something, and that now that the world is ending he should probably collect.

Aging- In his late fifties, Subhas isn't up to the kind of prolonged physical exertion that wouldn't faze a younger man. While he's still fairly strong, don't expect this man to be running any marathons.

Personality: Kansas is honest to the point that she is blunt and often puts people off. She likes to have a good time but usually drinks too much . She doesn’t judge anything about anyone. She likes to learn and will question everything. She is vegetarian and health conscious (minus the drinking part ;) ). She can be very private when dealing with her emotions and doesn’t always open up about herself easily.

Bio (at least a paragraph): Kansas grew up in a wealthy, conservative family. Her parents were both scientist who fell in love in college. Her father started many biological research foundations in her brother’s name - a twin brother of hers who died of an unidentified illness when she was 5.  She was raised in a spoiled manner but always felt as if her parents missed having two children. She was put in every available theater production and pageant her mother could find but she never took to them as well as she took to dance. She became obsessed after her first class. She has always had a lot of friends but has never had a best friend. She has attended private schools up until her senior year, when she convinced her parents to let her try a public school for the “experience”.

Personality: Teddy has a very childish outlook on life, stubbornly looking at moral issues from a black-and-white perspective. He's not shy, but is easily frightened and looks to traditional authority figures for guidance, and is easily influenced by them. Older kids he sees as bad or untrustworthy if they don't fit into his idea of right and wrong. Although stubborn, he is a little selfish and might be convinced to betray his own values if there's some greater benefit to him, such as a reputation boost.

Bio: Teddy was born in Redding, California to two lower-middle class idealists. He went to a public elementary school in Redding, before his family moved to Salem, Oregon in the summer of 2016 for his mother's job. After only a month to adjust, Teddy began school at Fatehaven Academy, for which his slightly wealthier grandparents helped foot the bill. The upheaval was difficult for Teddy, and the lock-down certainly hasn't helped (though he's sure the adults will take care of it), but he's managed to make a few friends over the past few months, and has enrolled in an extra-curricular book club run by his 6th grade English teacher. All in all, the future looks pretty bright for Teddy in Fatehaven Academy.

Skills:
Decisive - For better or worse, Teddy doesn't hesitate when it comes to making a tough decision. Though his fear may hinder this skill.

Weaknesses:
Easily Frightened - Teddy expects adults to handle everything, so when they seem to be failing, or simply aren't around, his whole reality is shaken.
Easily Influenced - Teddy can be persuaded to do pretty much anything if he looks up to the person asking him to do it, or if there's something in it for him.

Extracurricular Activities: Teddy is involved in an after-school book club.

Personality: Ken is the very definition of pervert; a lech with so much sex drive that it's not even funny. This young man aspires to one day have what he calls a 'harem': a bunch of female lovers who would, more likely than not, do various inexplicable acts to him, as he would to them. At least, that's how he portrays himself. In truth, he really just wants to make the people around him smile, forsaking his shame and looking like a total idiot just to make them do just that. In fact it's been seen in the past that he'll go to great lengths just to make sure that his classmates don't cop any harsh punishments or to never feel down. He's not really that bad of a guy when you get right down to it. After all, it's the most damaged hearts that smile the brightest...

Bio (at least a paragraph): Ken hasn't always had the best of luck in life. People ridiculed him throughout his younger years which made him rather reserved and quiet from about nine onward. During middle school, Ken was essentially the quiet young boy who sat at the back of the class, not talking to anyone. He was practically isolated, at least until he got him. His younger step-sister -- his god-send; his sweet little angel -- was Ken's only real salvation. It wasn't till she died in a horrible accident two years ago that Ken began to slowly change. His step-sister wanted nothing more for him than to be happy, and to smile, and that stuck deep in Ken. The whole of ninth grade was a mess for him, but the fact that he began to talk to others more really helped. During the tenth grade, he had grown more accustomed to his classmates and was capable of casual conversation. 

However, it wasn't until he came into contact with the student council -- four lovely ladies with whom he named after the season -- that his life really began to change and take form. After getting the support from those four girls, he began to realise what his step-sister meant, and how he could do it. And so, he worked his ass off in order to get the last seat on the student council - a seat preserved solely for those with the highest academic ability. Though there wasn't much time to get this done, Ken persevered, and, believe it or not, he actually managed to pull it off! Now, in his eleventh year, Ken strives to make everyone he meets happy, though specifically those in the student council. And so he studied long and hard, playing dating sims and reading romance novels, and continues to do so to this day, in order to try and become a better man.

Skills (for every skill, add a weakness): Excellent writing skills.

Weaknesses: Physically weak (only barely stronger than your average girl).

Loralei has the petite frame of a gymnast, complete with pixie like features like a perfectly symmetrical face and properly proportioned nose. Her small bust actually fits her frame perfectly, making her Bs look like moderate Cs. Slightly shorter than average, Loralei only stands at about five foot three. Her golden topaz colored eyes are round, but she uses eyeliner to help create the illusion of narrowness/almond shape even if she isn’t wearing any other make up. Generally, she only wears nude smokey-eye eyeshadow and a lip gloss a shade or two darker than her own lips. Light brown hair color often confused with dirty blonde flows down nearly to her waist; she keeps her chin length bangs tucked behind her ears but not pinned. When not having to wear her school uniform, she typically dresses in sneakers, some nice hip hugger jeans, and a baby-tee; she likes to be comfortable over making sure she looks attractive/dolled up. She loves jewelry, especially necklaces and rings, and never goes anywhere without at least one of each.

Personality: Sweet and kind of bubbly, she has a knack for finding the silver lining to almost anything. As much as she loves sharing exciting stories, whether they’re her own exploits or someone else’s. Despite a childhood being the center of attention from her father and eldest brother, she still always wants to hear about everyone else’s day - especially if it helps her make friends with someone else. She doesn’t stand for any kind of bullying; that’s when she puts on her serious face and will step in to try to work things out peacefully. 
Often times she wishes her life were more like a musical. She sometimes breaks out into a song - not in the middle of a conversation, but more out of nowhere - just to get it out of her head or because she just wants to fill the silence. It doesn’t take much to egg her on to sing or break out into monologues from plays; the more people around, the better her performance.

Bio: Youngest of four and only daughter, Loralei grew up babied and pampered *because there is a difference* by her father and overprotected by her eldest two brothers. With her love of being photographed (a regular occurrence since her eldest brother aspired to be a cinematographer or director) beginning at a young age, her mother helped get her life in front of a camera started when she was five. She did local modeling photos and commercials until she was nine, when she landed her first acting role in a children’s show as a background character with one line. After a series of appearances like that on various television shows, she finally got a break when she was fourteen and was hired on as one of the leads in a musical high school sitcom. 
Despite loving it, Loralei ended up quitting the show after only two seasons; during that season her brother - William - had been injured on active duty and returned for physical therapy, her uncle had passed away, and her father was struggling with writer’s block being so far from the rest of their family. After spending the summer with her family and school hunting, she finally found Fatehaven Academy and enrolled.

Personality: Irvine is a very laid-back individual, stemming mostly from an anti-social record.  He would prefer to observe a situation rather than partake, typically writing short hand notes during group conversations.  To those he knows he's an open book, so long as there aren't too many people observing him.  He considers himself somewhat of an anti-bully, not afraid to stand up for those who don't feel they can stand up for themselves.

Bio (at least a paragraph):
Irvine was the 'problem child', sent to private school in order to 'straighten him out'.  Although this was only the first of many situations.  Irvine couldn't help but stand in on situations such as bullying and fighting, and due to how often it occurred he'd regularly be blamed for it.  This of course lead to him lashing out in his own defence.  Over the years of his private schooling Irvine had a lot of difficulty trying to change this part of him, landing himself with fairly regular referrals, detentions and warnings of expulsion.

The explosive mood of the teen eventually died down, leaving him a laid back shell of a person he used to be.  Within his early years of the school Irvine was kicked out of multiple clubs he was a member of due to his behaviour.  His past choices led to him developing a anti-social personality, with very select few friends.  But with this he became steadily more observant of what was happening around him and within school life.  Although even now he still will stand up for fellow students, his carefulness eventually got him off the teachers hit list, although when he was caught it would be the typical drone on about how they thought he'd changed.

Coming to the end of his school life, Irvine was just starting to get to grips with trying to change himself.  But no one could of foreseen the outbreak that would occur.  It was that event that would prevent this student from changing after all. 

Skills (for every skill, add a weakness):
Strategic - Irvine's natural desire to observe his surrounding situation allows him to formulate ideas, plans in his own mind, which have proven helpful in the past during group assignments.
Bravery - Not afraid of getting into a fight or taking on a tough challenge.
Anti-bully - Strong link with bravery, doesn't take kindly to other students being ganged up on.

Weaknesses:
Lost in the moment - When situations suddenly arise or drastically change, Irvine often becomes flustered when he hasn't taken account for it.
Fool hardy - Doesn't fully accept the limits of his capabilities when taking into account bravery.
The trouble maker - Due to Irvine's past mistakes in school (well documented in his files) Irvine is often seen/mistaken to be the root cause of any problem situation he tries to intervene on.

Extracurricular Activities:  Chess club (Mainly joined to help with his group observation/strategic thought process), boxing (ex-member, restricted access to the gym)
