Sorry that post took so long. I spent the entire weekend watching Season 4 of Orange is the new Black so there wasn't much time for posting.

The school library was certainly eventful today. Not to say that it wasn't always crowded with students, seeing as how much of a doormat Miss O'Neil was. A lunch spent in the library always meant a brief period of freedom from teacher oppression. Nicholas would have found it distasteful to take advantage of a timid woman like Miss O'Neil, but he too sought respite from the monotonous drone of school life. He had been hoping that the library would be a bit more private today. His gaze shifted to his backpack, which rested on the floor beside him while he sat up against one of the book shelves. The strange box he had found this morning on his bedside table occupied his thoughts. Even the sound of cruel laughter following Miss O'Neil's public humiliation did nothing to avert his focus. Just who had sent the box? What was inside it? The questions gnawed at him, the insatiable curiosity sending a tingling sensation across his skin. He quickly checked his surroundings, taking note that the little nook between the shelves he'd burrowed himself into was adequately private.

With a deep breath, Nicholas pushed his hand into his open backpack and rummaged around. He felt a few textbooks, a bottle of water and some pencils. He was about to assume that he'd only imagined seeing the box when suddenly his fingertips brushed against the wooden grain of it at the bottom of the bag.
"Yo, Nick." At the sound of the familiar voice, Nicholas immediately removed his hand from his bag and stared up at his older brother. "What're you doing hiding here? You missed the show!" He glared at his brother, clearly not being into the whole tormenting weak willed women thing.
"Yeah, I bet you and your friends are real proud of yourselves." His voice was laced with spite, which resulted in his brother raising an eyebrow. He was about to open his mouth, probably to dish out some comeback or insult, but was called back to his group of friends before he could say anything. Nicholas was relieved that he was gone. Reaching back inside of his bag, he pulled out the small box. Opening the lid, he only had a moment to observe the strange ring and put it on his finger before a small, green light materialised beside him.

Shuffling away, Nicholas heard the sound of people screaming. Had they all seen the light as well? Was his hiding spot not good enough? Turning around, it became apparent that the cause of the panic was not from Nicholas' box but instead a strange lady who had entered the library and begun attacking people. She even appeared to be floating.
"You sure did take your time with summoning me." The voice spoke up so suddenly, and so close. It was a small voice, yet firm. Nicholas turned around and was greeted by a strange creature resembling a dragonfly. "Perhaps if you weren't so hesitant, you'd be able to help deal with this villain." There were no words. Clearly this was all just some dream. The small creature sighed, flying up to Nicholas' face and staring him down with those large, fly-like eyes.

"W-what are you?" Nicholas managed to stutter out, leaning in closer to get a better look at the creature. It had a pair of human arms attached to a very small body. Instead of legs, it had an elongated abdomen like you would expect a dragonfly to have. There was even a pair of wings that released a very subtle drone as they fluttered back and forth far too quickly to make out any details.
"I'm a Kwami. My name is Draxx. Nicholas I'd love to spend some time explaining all of this to you, but we are in somewhat dire circumstances. You need to transform and help the others." The young boy clasped the sides of his head. What was this thing, Draxx, talking about? Transform? The others? Yet before he could ask anymore questions, different voices spoke up from the direction of the villainous woman. Sure enough, there were several individuals dressed in what looked like superhero costumes. They appeared to be apprehending the woman.
"Wait, you mean them? How am I supposed to help them?" He turned back to face the Kwami, who looked to be growing more impatient with each passing moment. With a growl of frustration, Draxx flew up onto Nicholas' head and began pulling his hair. Nicholas winced. For such a little thing, he sure did pull hard.
"Yes them! I don't have time to explain everything else, just say 'Transform me'!"
"Transform me?" Nicholas questioned. As soon as the words left his mouth, Draxx dispersed into a bright light which was sucked into the ring that had come with the mysterious box.

His skin felt like it was on fire. He could feel his form melt away and then be reborn. His vision went dark for a second, but then it returned and suddenly he could see everything. It was like a strange kaleidoscope, he could see all around him perfectly. He looked down at his new outfit, feeling a little bit silly in the get up.
"Woah, this feels weird. Draxx, what happened to me?" He spoke, but the Kwami did not respond. He looked around only to see that Draxx was gone. He'd been sucked up into the strange ring. Nicholas was left alone with no idea what he was supposed to be doing. He poked his head out from behind the shelf just in time to seeing the villain address the other heroes and depart from the building. He ran out to them, staring up at the blockade on the windows.
"Sorry I'm late!" He stared at the others, clearing his throat before standing up tall with his shoulders squared. He was trying to seem more confident than he actually was about this whole ordeal.
"Let's not waste any time now! We should chase after her."
This whole trapped in a painting mini arc youre talking about reminds me of the painted world of Ariamis from Dark Souls. Anything that reminds me of dark souls has my approval.

I havent read the post yet because I'm still enjoying oitnb. Will eventually get around to it.
I have spent this entire weekend marathonig the new season of Orange is the new Black. God I love this show I cant believe I only have two episodes left and then it's another year long wait.
As a piece of trivia; what Claudette's mother said about Miss Greenwood is pretty much a paraphrasing of something my own mother has said about her sister in-law.

Welcome to Italian families, we live for drama.

@Evil Snowman 🌹

The chirping of birds whistled through the quaint village of Krukow, only slightly muffled by the moderate gossip and bantering of the locals. Even on its busiest days, the local markets were tame in comparison to the hustle and bustle of Kuiper. Though if Claudette were to be honest, she much preferred the quiet. Her frequent trips to the markets would be quite stressful if she had to make her way through a large crowd. Straw basket in one hand, her holo-pad in the other, Claudette browsed through the list of supplies her mother had sent her to acquire. The transparent screen glowed a light hue of violet, projected from the small capsule which was nervously clasped in Claudette's delicate fingers. Of coarse she would be nervous; tonight her father was expecting company for dinner. This was a common occurrence in Claudette's family, yet tonight was not just any regular house guest.

Maria Greenwood was coming for dinner. Maria Greenwood. Now, the lovely Miss Greenwood seemed all honey and sugar to most of the town folk. She was an elderly lady who regularly attended the Deacon's sermons and brought baked goods. Yet despite appearances, Miss Greenwood was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Her and Henrietta, Claudette's mother, did not get along. In her mothers own words;

'The woman's a smug, condescending old crow. And her quiche tastes like cat shit. I wouldn't feed it to my worst enemies.'

Claudette could feel her face going red just thinking of the language her mother had used when complaining in the kitchen this morning. The thought of speaking like that aloud was inconceivable. Yet her mother was a proud woman, and she loved her husband. She put up with the evil Miss Greenwood; who Claudette also detested with a passion, for the sake of keeping the peace in the community. So it felt only right that Claudette, who was strolling through empty streets when she'd much rather be reading under a tree, did the same. Though she still didn't like it. The thought of Miss Greenwood talking to her with that insufferable forced smile while she made passing comments on how Claudette should be more devoted to the faith made her stomach churn. She briefly considered saying a prayer for tonight's dinner to be quick and painless.

As Claudette approached a small shop, a comfortable little place ran by a woman named Amelia, she felt a sudden buzzing in her ear. The droning only continued to grow louder; the earth beginning to rumble a little. Claudette turned around and looked up to confront the noise. Eyes wide open in concern, Claudette slowly reached for the doorknob of Amelia's shop and pushed the door open. Creeping inside, she quickly shut the door behind her. Her heart was racing like a hummingbird. What were Crucible ships doing in Krukow? Suddenly the dinner with Miss Greenwood seemed like a trivial matter. The Crucible frowned upon The Children of Aura, and Claudette had heard many harrowing stories from her father about how they persecute those who practice it. Before she could get ahead of herself, she stared forward to see Amelia minding her shop while dealing with another customer. Pushing off from the door, Claudette walked forward with shaky legs. She did her best to remain composed, but the second she reached the counter she just blurted out the first thing that came to her mind.

"Oh, Miss Crovus! Did you see the airships? Why are the Crucible here of all places? I just don't understand." It was clear that Claudette was panicking. She had her free hand clutching onto her chest and her eyes were darting back and forth around the shop. She was seemingly having a little trouble breathing. However after a moment, her breath steadied and her stature stiffened. Claudette stood in silence for a moment before clasping her hands over her mouth in embarrassment.
"Oh dear, how rude of me. Good day, Miss Crovus. Blessings of the Mother to you." Claudette bowed polite, forming her hands into a circle at her chest. It was a holy sign among The Children; used for greetings, blessings and pretty much anything else. It was rare for most people to see Claudette so flustered, but even so she made sure to remember her manners. Even though she grew more frightened by the minute.

Reason 2: Doesn't see Rosa as a woman, but more of a monster.

That's fair.
@Leslie Hall
I think you should stop asking for 'rogue wizards' as that gives off the wrong impression XD
Sounds like to me you're looking for people to arrest rather than recruit

I do see your point. However looking at it through Rosalina's perspective; there's no reason for Nolan to know why she's looking for them. It seems that looking for rogue wizards who have committed a crime is a less pathetic excuse than 'We literally have no other options for recruits atm can you smell our desperation?'

Besides, it might make it more interesting this way. Rumor starts going around that the council is supposedly arresting Rogue Wizards could make for some interesting interactions when Rosalina and the other Council Members find them. One big misunderstanding.
Rosalina Idwal
"..."

"I know you're afraid, Rosa."

@Lmpkio | @hatakekuro

The once peaceful cafe wasn't looking too comfortable anymore, with a few shattered tables and terrified patrons. The staff looked relieved when the two Knights were sent away, though they had no gratitude for Rosalina. Not that she cared, the people had every right to be mad at the Rune Knights after that shocking display. Of coarse, Nolan's actions only served to make him the hero in the eyes of all the bystanders. The way he talked to Rosalina was nothing short of smug, and listening to his satisfied tone was infuriating. Thankfully, Rosalina wasn't an impulsive person. She could keep her own emotions under control, appearing almost pleased. She would let Nolan ride out his little heroics, let the citizens recognise him as such.
"Right, right...I'll be sure not to spit on your boots Ms. Idwal." Rosalina took a step past him to their table, stopping beside him. She moved her face besides his, talking directly into his ear with a voice like venom.
"Captain Idwal to you, boy. You think I wear this badge to cover a stain?" Moving past Nolan, Rosalina took her seat.

The three sat in silence for a moment, which was eventually interrupted by a rather distraught looking girl. The waitress thanked Nolan for the efforts while Rosalina averted her gaze. Looking at that poor girl made her absolutely mortified. To think people who would do such a thing could be a member of the Knights. Nolan ordered coffee for the three of them, Rosalina nodding in approval. Nolan leaned forward and began to explain the situation.
"Those two knights of yours were harrassing that waitress. Sexual harrassment, assault, and who knows else before I came here. From what I could tell from what they said, this isn't the first time." Rosalina's posture straightened up, clearly taken back by the knowledge that not only had this happened; but it had been for quite some time. She was not a naive person, she knew that there were still horrible people serving in the Knights. She had made it her prerogative to eliminate them from the rankings, with the help of any other Captains. Yet here they were.
"These incidents were most likely reported and ignored. Which means this goes up even further than just those two." Rosalina held her head in her hands, just as the waitress returned with the three cups of coffee. She ignored her, still too held up on the thought that something like this could be allowed to go on. "We Knights must look truly despicable to you, Nolan. I wouldn't blame you. There was a time when being a Knight meant you stood for something; that you lived to serve the people." She was mostly talking out loud. Rosalina had always seemed distant, or uninterested in her purpose as a Knight. It would come as a surprise to many to see her like this. She was a proud woman, and incidents like these only further stained the good name of the Rune Knights which she had clung too so passionately for many years. Those Knights were gone, and that was the truth.

Regaining her composure, Rosalina took a deep breath before addressing Nolan.
"Please explain how this brawl went down."
"I told them to leave or face the consequences. Nutless threw the first punch. So tell me, are you going to make me take the fall so your recruits don't think you're a backstabber or are you going to let me go?" Rosalina raised an eyebrow, surprised at how brief his recount of the little battle (If you could even call it that) was. Before she could answer, however, Sayatachi spoke up beside her. The two of them engaged in a conversation that seemed quite confusing to Rosalina. She averted her attention to her cup of coffee, taking a long sip. They were seemingly discussing some form of inappropriate conduct on the count of Ms. Nijiko. Rosalina sighed, not interested in getting involved in their affairs. Before the conversation could go even further off topic, she spoke up to Nolan with a calm yet firm voice.
"Attacking a Rune Knight is a serious offense. There were many witnesses, myself included, that can testify that you did lay hands on a Knight." She paused for a second, her lips turned into a smile. "However those two weren't Knights. They lost their right to be called such the second they thought they could come in here and abuse citizens. This is just a case of self defense on your end, and that's how everyone will see it."

Rosalina knew she had to let him off the hook. Besides, she really wanted to take Nolan's side on this. Those men deserved what they got. Rosalina finished the rest of her coffee with one final swig, planting the cup down on the table before staring between Nolan and Sayatachi.
"That seems fair, doesn't it? However in exchange for this kindness to you, I'd like to ask you if you know of any rogue wizards that happen to be in town for the games." With that matter wrapped up, Rosalina decided to put Nolan to use with her search. Surely he'd come across someone over the past few days. It was the best thing to a lead they had at this point.

Isabella and Bullet
"See, was that so hard?"

"Yeah, yeah. Thanks, Bella. It's good to know you're looking out for me."

@Zarkun

With Isabella beaming with such excitement, Bullet started to feel bad for rejecting the idea. He looked at Jane from the corner of his eye; still blushing red from the sudden declaration that this girl was to be his date. She was very pretty, he had to say. But he didn't know anything about her, and he'd much rather accompany Isabella. Yet despite this, he knew that his friend would be too stubborn to give up on this. Even Isabella herself felt the same way, until Jane brought up something that required her to reconsider.
"Sorry to burst your bubble and be unable to assist you on the matter, but I'm not interested in guys, in any way." Isabella stood there in silence for a moment before clasping her hands over her mouth in embarrassment. Bullet stared at the two of them with his mouth wide open, unable to believe that things had gone this way. He cleared his throat, hoping to break the awkward silence.
"Well. You uh, you sure know how to pick 'em Bella." He tried to pass the joke off with a bleak chuckle, but that did little to stop Isabella from burying her face in her hands and shaking her head.

"Oh. My. God! I am so sorry!" She raised her head and stared at Jane, almost on the brink of tears. "Oh you must simply despise me! How rude of me to assume anything about you when we've just met." Bullet stood up and patted her on the shoulder. Before he could give any words of comfort, Jane winked at Isabella before mentioning that she'd rather accompany her to the ball. Immediately, Isabella's eyes widened and her pout turned into a smile. She stepped forward to Jane and grabbed onto both of her hands.
"Oh, Jane! You're a genius! That sounds like a superb idea! We could go together instead, I'm sure I can find a nice lady or gentleman for Bullet by days end." It was amazing, even to Bullet, just how quickly she bounced back and accepted the idea. As far as he knew, Isabella wasn't into girls. He supposed she was pretty open minded to trying new things, though he'd never consider that a spontaneous decision to experiment with her sexuality would be one such thing. He was even starting to feel a little jealous over all the attention Jane was getting from her.

"Oh this will be a fun evening! We should hit the shops as soon as possible and start looking for something to wear! I found this gorgeous little boutique in a brochure at reception that I'd like to see. We can even help Bullet find a tux."
"I'll die before I let you put me in one of those things!" Bullet immediately interjected, shoving his hands in his pockets with a grin. This morning had taken quite a surprising turn, but at least Isabella seemed to be having fun.
@hatakekuro Shit I've been called out. I can't go back to prison.
