If I ever imply France in an RP where, for example, the context for calling something "French Toast" doesn't exist, you can know that's not me.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

Regan Hadou
Wolven Pyre Guild Hall

@Cello@Lunarlord34@Raijinslayer

They stopped just outside the hall. Someone else had gone in just before them, and yet another soul approached them directly. There was... Something about her, Regan couldn't quite put her finger on it. The forced smile was her first tip, but that could have just been Bullet being obstinate. She couldn't put her finger on it any more than that. Maybe she seemed... Heavy? Careful how you say that, though.

Bullet spat some sharp words at Regan's new acquaintance, even as he retreated into the guild hall, "now, that's no way to repay the concern of this lovely young lady..." Regan watched the door only briefly, before bringing her attention back to the woman in question, "miss Manami, the pleasure is mine." Regan gave a bow, and as she did, she softly picked Manami's free hand and ever so gently kissed the back of it, "Regan Hadou." She gingerly returned the hand whence it came, and straightened. "Not at your service, unfortunately. Zhulie had been so gracious as to give me a tour, so we will have to become acquainted another time. Unless you'd join us?" She gave a coy wave with her fingers as she turned to go inside with Zhulie.

On the way to the kitchen, she sat Bullet getting chewed out just a little. Poor, stubborn fool. In the kitchen, they were greeted by who Regan could only guess was the head chef. Though, somehow, things didn't feel so formal as that. "Regan," she offered, in response to Zhulie's introduction. She carefully accepted the cookie Olga gave her, taking in the aroma and considering what she'd just been told about this particular cookie. "Yes, I can tell by the scent. It will be delicious. Thank you." She gave a gentle bow before considering the cookie, "my beloved, huh…?"

She considered that idea for a moment before Zhulie caught her attention, with a cook book. Looking it over, it became apparent what the lass wanted. Sweets! "Hmm…" Regan paged through the book, looking for something that wasn't there. This was their recipe book, they could make things from it wherever. No, no, this was an opportunity to cook something from without the book and give them something special!

"Hmmm…" she reached the end of the book and closed it, turning to Zhulie and smiling, "have you ever had a souffle? I didn't see it in the recipe book, let's make some. We'll need eggs, milk, butter, flour… salt… And cream of tartar. And then, for the filling, I do not expect you to have~..." She held her hand out over the counter and grabbed vanilla pudding from her requip, "vanilla pudding," and put it down on the counter. "For everything else, you'll have to show me. Oh, we're making for…" she went and poked her head out if the kitchen for a head count. "Eight, so double… Eh, triple it. Make extra," striding back in, "ninety mil butter and flour, seven salt, six...ehh… five-fifty milk, a whole twelve eggs and four mil cream of tartar. We'll need to separate the yolks, have you done that before?"
"Rright, yeah, you told me that part." Just political opinion? Man, she knew the Feds were upright, but this was something else. Serenity ordered a breakfast with some french toast and bacon. Paid the price for what, wanting decent policies? It's why she left federal space and employ.

It had been a while since she'd had a serious chat with someone. She'd talk with her residents, but she kept it fairly professional with most of them. "Well, kid, you give people the things they need with fair conditions and that tends to happen. The people living here are ultimately under my protection. They live on the station I built myself. Even better that it's on the edge of federal territory, and they don't have to deal with the bullshit. They appreciate that, y'know?"

"Looking for work? Mm..." Well, as long as he wasn't running around with his telekinesis all over. "There's always something to be done for the station. Vortex knows what she needs." The kitchen sizzled, they could hear it from their seat. The diner was fairly quiet, just a few folk having their own meal. "I've got a couple builder mech suits, depending on how long she takes with your maintenance. They're nothing special like yours, but they do the work I need."

Their food didn't take long to come to them. Serenity didn't waste any time in digging in, thinking about what the lad could do. "The work you'll find around here might be a bit boring, kid. We don't get a lot of excitement out here, which suits me perfectly fine."

I should look into where his parents might be held. But, say we rescue them… what then? She certainly didn't want to bring the feds here in force or anything. She didn't have the kind of firepower to defend herself against the Federation if they really decided to come down on her. She might last a little while, but that'd just put her on the run again… Not something she was excited to go back to.

"Do you have any sort of plan? For how you're going to proceed from here." If he had somewhere to go, or some such, that would make things easier.

Aww, shit, she made Jasmine mad. She was hoping she'd at least get a chuckle out of it. She supposed she should have known better. She couldn't help but be a little jealous of tiny nuisance as Jasmine held Rajah close. "Mn, aww, Jasmine, c'mon. She's such a little brat to you all the time. And you see how she treats everyone else."

The expression on her face was upset as she heard a voice within her mind. She lifted a hand to her head, caught off-guard as her mind burst into activity.

Foreign presence detected penetrating consciousness boundary

Scrambling background threads

Brianna had asked something, but whatever it was had been quickly forgotten in the face of mental trespassing. "Wh-, Jaz, do you hea-" the sword?! Her eyes turned sharply to the sword hanging from her guildmate's waist, as her mind quickly churned out a response to the magical probing. "What the fuck, Brianna?!"

Invasive presense magical in nature

Pooling magical power... Insufficient power

She started to mould her Energy Make to augment her mental barriers, but found herself sipping lightly on a Wind to have the power to finish the complex construction.

Jamming

As she slipped the bottle back into her bandolier, about a third gone, she tried to calm herself. There was a lot of important or embarrassing or secret stuff up there, and telepaths were a very real threat to her and Neil's businesses. "Keep your telepathic shit out of my head." Rather attached to her mental privacy, as well.

She turned back to Jasmine, realizing what just happened to their short-lived conversation, "uhm..." She'd completely lost momentum, and she'd already made Jasmine mad cause she collared Rajah. Not too mention she didn't really feel like talking anymore. She heard Neil mention Markovis (and heard Karn's cringy nickname for the gloomy guy. There was no way Mark liked it, she should have a gentle conversation with that kid... He's not even a kid!), and found herself an out. "Right, I should check on Markovis."

Should she have just stayed home? Her day just kept getting stepped on. And she knew some of that was her own mentality, and not just... There was no reason to get grumpy for having a band play a show for them.

She didn't even know James played bass, though, what the hell.

So she retreated to the bar and the familiar shape of Mark's back at the bar, lightly touching Neil's back as she passed him. She couldn't be bothered with anything else happening in the hall, did she just feel out of place? The powerless Make mage occupied the stool next to her gloomier teammate, the weight of her upper body never leaving the counter after being introduced. She gave her team a weak smile before looking to Jarvis, behind the bar "Jarviiiiiis, gimme a drink?" She was pretty sure he'd remember the kind of thing she liked. Something sweet or sour or both, preferably. Fruity never hurt, either.

She'd ask Mark, but he'd give her straight liquor.
"I'm asking you, kid. The station listens to my every word, if you haven't noticed. Although... Maybe I should just have it moved." It'd be less likely that he'd run into someone she didn't want him to run into or that someone would ask him a question it was better wasn't asked. "Yeah, I guess I'll have Vortex move it, instead. I can just claim it's mine to avoid suspicion... Cmon." She started to head back to residential, as drones started to filter in. Vortex had heard her, loud and clear.

Ascot thanked her. It wasn't like she was doing this for him or something, she just didn't feel right turning him out. Maybe that meant she was doing it for him. Whatever. "You'll be able to stay in residential. I can keep feds out if I want. If they decide they want to search my station, they'll search it anyway."

"Vortex can handle most of the maintenance. We'll stop by the diner in residential and grab some breakfast. I'll have her leave anything weird for me to look at. Cmon, then."

She led the way back to residential, finding that nice, quiet little diner where they could sit and talk in relative privacy. "So, your folks are held in some prison somewhere, are they?" She started speaking once they got out of the space port, "what for, do you know?"

The residential area was a very comfortable place to live. It was open and well lit, looking more like a miniature city than anything else.
She paused as she came into the hangar, "whoa. That's not much bigger than my builder, kid," she waved a hand and parts of the hangars started to move, "you fought in this?" A small cargo drone, usually used for deliveries, came into the bay, carrying a toolbox and bringing it to the woman as she approached the mech. "Thank you, Vortex."

This kid just got hotter and hotter. And she most certainly did not mean the attractive kind. She was taking all kinds of risks, sheltering this boy. But, If she turned him out, he'd just end up caught, most likely. And she knew about him, so they might even trace him back here. Her best course of action was to hide the kid and his mech as best she could.

But that would be very selfish of her. The kid knew what he wanted... She couldn't deny him the justice he sought. In a way, it was the same thing that brought her all the way out here. They each wanted what was rightfully theirs. She couldn't just turn him out to fate.

"Ah, of course," she complained from under the outer chassis is the torso. "Can't even get in without specialized tools. So much for a tune up. I'll just have to check everything besides the engine. Tiny thing..." She shook her head, going over the rest of the mech and studying it's parts closely. They were very worn, from all the stress of combat over a whole year, don't parts would need to be replaced. She figured as much... You need a miracle material to get both performance and durability. Maybe it was made from just that, but that wouldn't make them unbreakable, either.

After a little while of inspecting this crevice and that nook, she comes down from the lift, wiping her hands off with a rag. Drones have been assisting her the whole time, and she passes her hand towel off when she's done with it. The little automation, this one spherical and cute, bobbed and chirped and flew off with it. "Not gonna lie, kid, the mechanical parts look pretty rough. Why don't you bring her to my private dockyard, we can let Vortex handle the maintenance. Don't worry, she'll handle it. It's hard to make a computer forget something accidentally, she won't forget how it goes together. Vortex will upload the docking coordinates to your nav computer."
