I am have tempted to craft one for a doctor and go for flavor of kinda memey. Also, can I ask what does a Signals Officer even do?
It is usually a position in charge of communication systems so I'm guessing maintaining the communication within the fleet, the HQ, and maybe the alien race? Additionally, since we don't have a dedicate lookout position, I guess this also means Signals Officer might have to read the signal of things in space like Heat, magnetic, echolocation, etc. and act as the ship's eyes as well.
Not a character submission yet but I want to submit the planet of my character first in case it needs to be change/modify. Please let me know if I have to change anything!
Planet name: Kore Soteira (Commonly referred to as Soteira)
History: Formerly known as Gliese 514 b before the age of galactic expansion and within the distance of around 25 light years from the solar system, it is one of the more remote settlements in the federation. While the settlement of this planet is a recent thing, its availability as a home to humanity has been speculated and confirmed even as far back as the last century.
Planetary characteristics:
Mass: Minimum mass of at least 5.2 Earth masses. Orbital Period: 140.4 days. Orbital Distance: 0.422 AU from its star. Orbit Shape: The orbit is highly elliptical (eccentric). Host Star: The planet orbits an M-type star named Gliese 514.
Kore Soteira is known as the land of extreme hot and cold. It spends 3 quarters of the time in winter and the last quarter in extreme hot summer. This is due to its unique orbital that moves in and out of the dwarf star’s heat emitting range.
Life and custom in Soteira: The most important time of the year for people living here is, of course, the summer. It is when the ice melts into water and most crops can grow without relying on too much expensive technology. Their most important festivals include ‘The Last Snow Festival’ which celebrates the coming of summertime, ‘The Lost Month’ which is the time when Soteira orbits outside the heat zone, thus making it too cold for most people to work, it is also their planetary holiday month.
Industry and role in the federation: Despite being a remote planet, Soteira is considered the federation’s leader in AI technology and data systems solely because of one thing: the extreme coldness. It is one of the few habitable planets that can maintain the temperature suitable to operate the quantum computer without spending too many resources in keeping people alive. Its signature extreme seasons also attract some tourists who want to experience something novel, especially during the early summer when the ice melts.
Note: The name I choose 'Kore Soteira' is another name of Persephone, the queen of the underworld in Greek mythology. Not only that, 'Kore' means 'the Maiden' which I think really suits this planet since it is also one of the stars in the Virgo constellation. (Yes, this is a real planet)
@Vec To add on to Rekkuza questions, I also want to know how many points we get in the beginning (if we get any at all). Cuz before we have human or even creature in general we have to created them first, right? And how would a point generate in times with no follower at all like the creation era?
We have plenty of room, and if you have any questions then feel free to ask.
Nothing at the moment. I'm interest in the Quartermaster position because I rarely see this role in rp (or in media in general) so I kinda want to try it out.
@CmmelodyA Ripple happens regardless of who triggers it, be it an evil or good god. On the contrary, an evil god running around causing negative ripples for mortal followers of other gods paints a target on their back for said gods to chase him around. Don't rest on your laurels mel :)
Well, I plan on using the conviction reservedly anyway, gotta have some in the bank to bail those criminals out of trouble XD. I just think people can be pretty trigger happy with it. But no one know the system more than you do so I will trust you on this one. (I apologize if I sound too doubtful)
The Zeroth post has been updated with new information about another core mechanic of this roleplay, Ripples! Peruse it at your leisure.
Uhm about the ripples, if I might add something. I think the punishment is too harsh on the righteous side. Maybe because I play an evil god I don't think any of the consequence other than some of the nightmare levels are really undesirable? Or maybe I just didn't understand the system
