Corbin watched the vampyress flee from the tavern through a scornful glare. How dare she dismiss him so? That vile wretched...his fuming anger drove his hand over the pendant he wore around his neck. The pendant that housed the essence of a winged demon that would obey his every command until the day he set it free...if that day were to ever pass. The pendant began to turn black at the edges then stopped. His apprehension consumed him. If he sent his minion after the bitch who didn't even have the courtesy to introduce herself before completely dismissing him, as if a chance encounter with another of their kind wasn't a big deal, then he'd be left flightless for the time being. His rage nearly got the better of him as the edges of the pendant began turning black once more, his eyes staring venomous daggers at the threshold in which she had just passed through. Damn the wings...she would pay for her transgressions, she couldn't get too far and...

How did he not sense it sooner? The hand that he held over the pendant dropped to his side. The further the unnamed vampyre got from him the clearer the remaining patrons of the tavern became. By this point he had returned to hiding behind the bar from the mage who was looking for him, but the guard found no luck here and had just left. Corbin stood up and couldn't believe what he was sensing...it couldn't be...yet another vampyre? Two others of his kind in the same place on the same night? After having gone over a century believing he was the last of his kind? It wasn't as though he'd hidden away for all this time...he had traveled extensively, even beyond the material plane. He'd taken multiple pilgrimages to other planes of existence in search of answers and meaning and never so much as heard a whisper of the existence of his kind here or elsewhere.

Corbin zoned in on the other vampyre. This one was also female, and compared to the one that had so easily dismissed him...he felt his blood begin to boil at the thought...this one seemed more...to his liking. Whereas the one he'd met first radiated femininity and beauty, this other one seemed as if she'd enjoy soaking a battlefield with blood much like himself. She appeared in every way to be a warrior of some sort, more aggressive and in tune with what she was, whereas the other one rejected the blood he had so generously offered. Corbin found himself smiling at the potential, but reminded himself that hope was for the weak, tempering his expectations as he approached the silver haired vampyress.

Her golden eyes, much like his own, pierced the dim lighting of the tavern and filled him with excitement. The strange rude creature with the flower sticking out of an eye socket was seated at the bar with her...Corbin groaned at the misfortune that he would yet again have to interact with the thing that spoke as though it had never lived a day on this planet. Rolling his eyes and deciding he didn't care, Corbin took a seat at the bar with the two women. He offered the flower-eyed woman a knowing nod and turned his attention unto the vampyress. Still sipping his chalice of blood, Corbin met her golden orbs with his own. "I haven't seen another of our kind in over a century and now I've come face to face with two in one night..." Corbin said bluntly. He turned to regard the flower lady. "Does this have something to do with you then?" He wore half a smirk across his face when he turned back to the as of yet unnamed vampyress. "The name's Corbin..." He said to her as he held his chalice up in toast. "What's your poison this evening?"

Corbin was taken off guard when the vampyress rejected the blood. He cocked an eyebrow and studied the woman curiously. "No?" He asked as he poured the contents of her glass back into the vial and drank his glass. "What brings you to a place like this?" He asked. Corbin couldn't help but notice that the woman seemed distraught, distracted and uncomfortable.

She seemed to keep glancing in the direction of the entrance to the tavern as if she had somewhere else to be, and wondered if she wasn't as excited to see another vampire the way he was. "Have somewhere to be?" Corbin asked her. "Need a lift?" Corbin slid closer toward her with his drink, hoping the scent would tempt her into sharing the blood.

As they stood behind the bar, and they each glanced toward the entrance periodically, he felt the slight tingle of magic in the air. A moment later the entrance opened and a mage walked in, not just any mage though...this mage was city guard. He carried a decapitated head. The mage was asking patrons questions as a spell projected the head's last moment through its eyes. A projection of himself appeared before the face.

Corbin could easily take care of the mage and be rid of the head once and for all, but he had a feeling this vampyress would look down upon him for such a thing and he wasn't ready to part ways just yet. He grabbed her and pulled her below the bar. "Alright, well..." He went on. "Where did you come from?"
@Crimson Crusade apologies for not replying sooner!!

I’m thinking air nomad orphan who was originally meant to be raised in one of the temples but something happened in their younger years which led to them being completely on their own

Perhaps due to this they might retain the peaceful teachings of the temple but that may also be mixed with some pretty aggressive and primal behaviour since surviving on their own.

Their air-bending wouldn’t be the strongest but they could also develop newer and a little less traditional techniques (such as man idk, taking someone’s breath away in the literal sense but a lot less hardcore)

Not sure if this is going over the top. Please do let me know ^^

(Also also- welcome to the site! I did not realise you were new aswell I have to admit)

Hey! Thank you. I'm okay with that type of character as long as you're aware I've already made the initial post and my character is also an airbender. But that's cool with me
<Snipped quote by Crimson Crusade>

That's fair. I overlooked that.

Usually any out of character information such as lore or rules would go in that tab. The post at the start of this thread, for example.

Ahhhh gotcha I understand. I'll keep that in mind moving forward thank you

Corbin cocked an eyebrow as he watched her get back to her feet. "I haven't seen another..." He paused for a moment. "...like us in over a century so I know how you feel." He smiled. The smile wasn't entirely genuine though. He enjoyed her flat out denial of having felt afraid of him, and he was glad for it. Yet, there was something that had spooked her, or induced an old trauma that went beyond simple surprise at seeing another vampyre. Who was this woman? Where did she come from? What was she doing in such a place as this? What had caused her hand to tremble? She was a mystery and arguably the most interesting thing to disrupt his life in decades. "When I felt your presence..." Corbin rolled his eyes at how quickly he was beginning to feel comfort. For all he knew she was from a rival clan or was behind the orders that had sent an army to his doorstep. Caution was the wise move here.

The strange woman on the other side of the bar interrupted. She clearly had no idea how to communicate with other intelligent species. He chose to ignore her this time, but in an attempt to appeal to the woman of interest, he grabbed a new glass and filled it with...something from one of the bottles atop a shelf. He slid it across the wooden bar to the odd creature before returning the mystery bottle to its rightful place. Corbin then grabbed a couple wine glasses, spinning them between his long fingers (in retrospect perhaps that was a little much) and placed them on the counter beneath the shelves holding the liquor. Tracing a finger tip along the pommel of his blade at his hip, a couple quick motions and Greyscale released a vial that had sat snugly within the hilt. Corbin dumped its contents into the wine glasses and offered one to the vampyress. "Still warm."

There was no need to provide context to the woman. She would know exactly what he was offering and hoped she would appreciate the gesture. Corbin lifted his glass to his nose and swirled the glass as he'd seen others do and basked in the delicious scent. "The name's Corbin." He said to her as he raised his glass in toast. "To our unexpected meeting." He watched and waited to see how she would proceed before bringing the glass to his lips.
@Crimson Flame

For both ATLA and Korra? If so, I'd very much like to hear about your water bender. Just keep in mind this is thousands of years before ATLA.
