So how everyone's holding up?
@MissCapnCrunch Crap, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to overlook your application. Drug dealing Bambi is awesome! I'd be fine if you wanted to beef her up a bit but I can understand if you'd want to keep her as is. She's accepted in my book :D

Gretal is in the same boat as Bambi, good but I wouldn't be against giving her a buff if you wanted.

Also heads up, I intend on rolling out Mothman's sheet.
@Drag@Crosswire

Nananananananan MOTHMAN

I'm down with that!

@Lexicon In all fairness I'm a little squeamish about how flat out powerful Boogie is. However you really don't seem like the power playing type Lexicon. You just want to make a neat character and help create a good story. So as long as you don't try to edge out on any of Boogie's weaknesses in a fight against some of the less fantastically powered Tales, we'll be fine.

Though admittedly I can't read through your entire sheet given my current state. I didn't see anything unacceptable, so I'll give it a green light, but I'd appreciate it if you were open to any after acceptance changes should anything crazy come up.

But that likely won't happen.

Anyway, great job!
@Crosswire@DragI imagined "The Woodsmen" being the same one in Hansel and Gretel's story, ie. their father. Which could have been the same in Little Red Riding Hood's and The Big Bad Wolf's story. It just seemed interesting.

I love that idea. Having the two related to The Woodsmen would likely make things twice as uncomfortable for B.B. I bet they still consider her a threat or some kind of malicious nuisance given dear old dad slit her stomach and threw her into a river with rocks in her belly.
@Holy SoldierThis is a really nice twist on Hansel. Sweet related powers? I hadn't considered someone going for that angle. That's absolutely delightful. Excellent formatting, beautiful descriptions, Hansel is accepted in my book. Drag's acceptance is needed but I'm sure they'll love this too.

Ceasing his gaze at the ill-dressed half-genie Jack knocked back his glass of whiskey in appreciate of Taric participating in his hasty toast. It was tempting for the cop to explain or outright ramble that a lot of things in Grant City weren't the most well thought out. If it wasn't the police regulations then it was the behavior of the gangs and if it wasn't the gangs it was the subway layout, or the traffic flow, or some other god forsaken aspect of the urban that made him and everyone else wonder why they put up with the nightmare of a city.

Instead Jack simply refilled his glass with a another helping of whiskey and picked up his BLT sandwich to get something besides hard liquor in his stomach.

"Hey I'm good at a distance or up close, Taric. I think I've used my fists more then I have guns to be honest. But if you can somehow keep me from having to take anymore punches to the face or groin then I already have then I'd appreciate it." Biting into the thick, almost bloated sandwich of meat and vegetables Jack began to chew his food just as Shantae and Steve called his attention. Taking a moment to swallow the cop shook his head and Shadow turned his head backwards to look at the half-genie, the white fur around his mouth stained red from the bloody meat he'd been gorging on.

"I'm Jack Slate, and I can't say I've ever met anyone named Boots before much less someone who matched that description." Jack simply gave a shrug of his shoulders and raised his sandwich to get back to his meal when Taric turned to him.

"Well it's not like I'm a VIP or anything. Hell I showed up to the castle late and drunk, and from what I understand ended up missing the first mission related to the virus. So I doubt anyone is going to do us any favors if I lead you all there, but I won't say no. Just let me finish me food and I'll take you up there. Just don't do anything crazy, I heard they were having a funeral."

Jack grimaced slightly at the idea of going back up to the castle. If they were lucky the funeral was wrapped up already. Even if it was though just being there would likely remind him of his father's own funeral and everything that had come before it...
Posted! I hope everything is OK. I made sure to read over the combat notes and rules, but I wasn't sure what the heading format was so I just stick to what we do in the regular RP.

"The only person who needs saving here is you Tinman. Shadow's just here to nibble on what's left of the competition when this is over and done with. Though I might need to break out something bigger then a can opener for you."

Jack rolled his scarred shoulders and bent his thick neck from side to side, producing a number of faint cracks as he stepped underneath the warm glow of the overhead arena lights. His dark grey blow-back handgun was already clutched firmly in his right hand and he pulled back on the slide as he moved. A familiar, threatening metallic click reached his ears as the well kept components snapped back into place and shoved a high caliber round into the chamber for firing. 8 rounds, one already in the chamber with plenty of clips to spare.

Shadow stayed by Jack's side as he moved. The large black and white dog remained slightly crouched, growling in a low feral tone as he bore his ivory teeth at their opponents across the fighting arena. The sharp scars turning upwards from the dog's black lips almost made it seem like it had some kind of unhinged grin as it readied itself to taste blood.

"A metal metal man. A boy and his dog. Vs me, my dog, and some strang guy in an orange suit of armor."

Jack's eyes narrowed as he looked over the metal man facing off against him. Just hearing his voice and seeing the strange stillness he possessed made it difficult for the cop to tell if he was a robot, some kind of cyborg, or just another spooky prick in a mechanical suit with really stupid looking dreadlocks sticking out the back. What wasn't difficult to tell was whether or not the man machine was dangerous. Appearances could be deceiving or incredibly forth coming. Just glancing at his opponent made it clear to Jack the enemy in front of him seemed better suited to the orange fellow he'd be paired up with. They both looked hi-tech and neither seemed totally human.

Behind the dreadlock sporting metal man Jack could see a young man and what he assumed was some kind of dog. The two were dressed in strange suits, but both possessed a military air to them.

“I’d really rather see who’s the better dog owner, but I guess I’m stuck fighting robo-dreadlocks here until I can get him to tag out.”

FIGHT!

As soon as the shout was given to begin Jack's arm up flew from his side. Left hand cupping his right to support and steady his aim Jack quickly leveled his pistol at Cyrax's right knee and pulled the trigger three times in rapid succession. A trio of deafening bangs rang out as hot gasses and metal left the chamber of the gun into the open air.

"Shadow, around!" Jack yelled over his shots and Shadow quickly sprang into action and began bounding across the arena. Instead of blinding charging at the obviously dangerous man-thing Shadow kept his distance and attempted to circle around and position himself behind his target. Attacking from opposing directions was ideal for splitting the attention of an enemy. The canine's predator mindset understood the line of thought all too well.

@LmpkioThanks for the heads up. I'm working on a post myself.
@LexiconThe local community is mostly Tales but there are plenty of humans wandering around. Generally though humans are supposed to be kept in the dark about the existence of Tales. Breaking that rule is likely to bring down some serious heat from just about everyone. Boogie could boss around a couple of human drug dealers though.

@BishopThat's a good question. I mostly know the Horned King from Diseny's "The Black Cauldron" but apparently it was based off of a book series called the Chronicles of Prydain? So I don't know if the Horned King really counts as a Tale. What do you think Drag?
