Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!

I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.

@Willy Vereb

A somewhat small detail, but important one nontheless is that Nahku was indicted for treason by Babur's father several years ago, for reasons that weren't said. Presumably it was over something petty or minor because the Sultan wouldn't explain his reasoning, but ironically not saying what Nahku did only makes it worse. It leaves people with the chance to dream up all sorts of horrific possibilities.

Anyways, he's been in Velikaya's company for a few years. He also was never officially exiled, he just fled from Tin to avoid being arrested and possibly imprisoned or executed.

The ones that Babur imprisoned rather than kill were his brothers and cousins, and they're still locked up in towers.
@Elitestpotato

I don't have a problem with having a second demon as a companion, provided she isn't too powerful.

Nobody seems blatantly overpowered, but a few are close to that line. Again, provided you don't single-handedly massacre an army or something in the beginning I won't have a problem with you having an ability like invisibility or superhuman speed. But if it turns out to be too much I might ask for some powers to be toned down a bit.

@Kangutso

If the Dungeon Keeper gets/makes lesser minions it will probably just be through summoning them through a portal or doing some black magic to create them. While obviously inspired by the Dungeon Keepers roleplays this one is quite different. The focus and emphasis is on the Overlord's champions rather than he himself. I'll probably be spending a lot more time writing as the humans that are fighting against all of your characters as compared to writing as the Dungeon Keeper.

They would most likely just exist for the purpose of being a reward. Do your missions well and you get a pack of gargoyles to command!™ Or maybe the boss will show you a new spell. There's a lot of potential for different rewards.

Definitely, if things go well. Just a question, how long away is 'tomorrow'?

I live in the EST timezone (-5:00 GMT). It's about 8:30 PM as I type this.

@Kho

Sometime tomorrow do you want to do a collab for my intro post like we talked about in the PM conversation?
I don't remember Kaban posting hers in the interest check.

I'll vouch for Emily's sheet being there; I saw it somewhere. In any case Kaben was there at the beginning before I even started the interest check, so I'm not going to say that it's too late.
Name: Narza (unable to remember her last name)
Physical Form:
Chimeric Specter

Narza is an amalgamation of a wide variety of souls, brought about by a somewhat mediocre dark mage. The dark mage combined: a few dozen tormented human souls, the soul of an innocent young human girl, freshly killed to serve as the catalyst, and three different Elementals, one of Wind, one of Water, and one of Darkness. Dreaming of power and infamy, dark mage aimed to create a fearsome tri-element familiar and make the familiar’s personality more servile by using a young girl’s soul as the base. While the dark mage succeeded in fusing the souls, one of his more mediocre points showed in his binding abilities.
The chimeric spirit broke free and consumed the dark mage the split-second after it was born. Because the chimeric spirit hadn’t settled and solidified, it ended up absorbing the dark mage into its core, giving it some of the abilities of the dark mage as well. A battle for dominance over the soul ensued. The dark mage, already weakened by the fusion process, was unanimously dealt with by the other souls. The elementals fell next, overwhelmed by the many insane human souls. With the elementals gone, the tormented souls fell upon each other, tearing each other apart in mindless agony. In the end, only the soul of the young girl, added most recently (aside from the dark mage), was left intact. Her name was Narza.

Magic and Abilities:

  • Invisibility (turn invisible, simple for a ghost)
  • Incorporeal Form (she actually can’t touch things if she tried, currently)
  • Soul Steal (steal a target’s soul, works better on weaker and weakened targets)
  • Devour soul (grow stronger by consuming a soul, stronger souls are more difficult to consume but are worth more. Slightly increases her magical power.)
  • Possess Husk(take control of a soulless body. Allows Narza to take a physical form and use that body’s magic at a fraction of its strength. She can’t preserve its health until stronger.)
  • Elemental Affinity for Water/Ice
  • Elemental Affinity for Wind/Air
  • Flight (ghosts can naturally fly)
  • Resistant to poison (How would you poison a ghost?)

Locked: (until more souls are eaten and she grows stronger)

  • Corporeal Form (become solid, taking any appearance)
  • Soul Scour (rip apart a soul for information. Narza can learn a magic if she rips apart enough souls that know that magic. Also aids in digestion.)
  • Elemental Affinity for Darkness
  • Soul Fusion (combine stolen souls.)
  • Soul Replacement (put a soul back into a soulless body.)
  • Lightning (subtype of Wind/Air)

Weaknesses:

  • Fire/Heat
  • Earth
  • Holy/Light Magic
  • Sanctified ground/equipment
  • Holy Water (somewhat nullified by Water/Ice Affinity)
  • Due to Narza’s Wind/Water/Darkness affinity and spirit body, she’s doubly vulnerable to light and heat. She also can’t pass through the ground like normal ghosts until she’s stronger. Additionally, Narza cannot learn any magic of opposing elements. Has no skill with weapons.

Personality: Innocent, naive, and terribly hateful. Has the personality of a young girl, the ambition of a failed dark mage, and the hatred and anger of several dozen tormented souls. As a former twelve-year old, Narza little knowledge of the world save for the bits absorbed from her shredded inhabitants, but is curious and sharp. She’s also spiteful and mischievous, with little moral direction even without factoring in the dark mage in him. When the malice of the tormented souls wrests free of her control as they will from time to time, she’ll seemingly lose her temper without warning.

Wants/Needs: Souls, especially magical ones or those of mages.

Relationships: None

Backstory: ((Maybe the dark mage that created her worked for the dungeon keeper? And Narza is expected to take his place?))

Other: Would be classified as an Assassin/Mage I suppose.

I hope there's room for me in this one :3

I posted twice in the interest check but GM never responded.
If space ever opens up, I'd like to submit this.

Ah, I was meaning to talk to you about the backstory but then I got caught up in starting this thread. Sure, we could say that the dark mage came to serve the Dungeon Keeper but then failed that ritual and died horribly. And not knowing what else to do, Narza presumably just offered her services to the Overlord, who of course wouldn't turn down anybody willing to serve him.

Since you were over in the interest check you're accepted. Same goes to everybody else if I wasn't clear: if you were on the interest check and I let you make a character, you're accepted.

Am I able to join?

I've lost track of who the 20 people that expressed interest on the interest check were. If you were there, then you can join. Otherwise, we just have too many people at present. Like I've been saying though, I might open up and allow some more people to trickle in once this gets going if I'm not overwhelmed by the number that we already have.
I have a question Cyclone for those whose characters weren't accepted in the interest check. Should we just post them here and wait for you to approve them? I'm assuming that is what you want us to do.

All the ones that were posted in the interest check were fine, I didn't see anything wrong with them. Anybody who posted their sheet over there can just dump it into the character section over here now.

For those that didn't do that, sure, just put it here in the OOC and then I'll either approve it for the CS or point out any thing that sticks out to me as needing to be changed.
I don't blame him for missing it; it's small. I for one want to say thanks to @The_written_John for pointing out that it wasn't immediately clear, that way I could edit the OP before anybody else was misled into thinking that we were still accepting.

Let's all stop arguing now; it's reflecting poorly on this roleplay and all of us here.
Eh? There's nothing that says the roleplay is "full" and if it was, the OP would have said so in the title...

AND WOW, OKAY SO IT IS FULL.

christ, that's just... wow.

Why dont you try putting it in your title? It's a little annoying to post up an rp and not even declare in the OP itself that its full. :/ And i was really interested in joining...

There is a join status tab on all roleplays. It's small and in the top left corner, if haven't noticed it before. I did indeed have that status set to "full", but to be clear I just edited the OP to say so as well.

I hate to give you that sour surprise, but it's literally gotten to the point that some people left because it was too crowded. As I said above, this isn't final. I may let more join soon.
Im guessing the CS is on the interest check? XD Would so love to join this x3

The CS is both in the character section and on the interest check.

But unfortunately, about 20 people expressed interest. So right now unless you were one of those that posted over there I'm afraid we're too full to accept any more. Check back to this thread occasionally though, because if not all of those 20 show up over here or if it turns out that I can somehow manage 20+ people easily enough, I may allow more to join us early on in the RP.
