Back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, I got started with writing online on the Spore forums. Man, those were the days. We're talking like 12 years ago 2010-ish!
I've been here on and off for almost as long, and have GM'd a bunch of different things to varying success.
I'm about halfway through a post that I was working on in my village. So when my next post comes the first half will be before Mirtagn started burning and smashing stuff. Then he can appear towards the end and I'll respond
Holy Orders also seems like an awfully odd portfolio, which was another reason I wasn't a fan. That and the fact that you get permanent might income for every single Order as compared to a one-time thing when they are founded, or at least just might from Holy Orders devoted to Vowzra personally.
Hopefully my opinion doesn't bother you, I'm just being honest. I really dislike stepping on someone else's ideas or creativity.
Well since you wanted to know what we think, I'll go ahead and elaborate my thoughts.
I had some misgivings about it mainly because it was directly stated that aside from demigods, divine beings are independent of worshipers and don't get any power from them. I recall that part about alternative ways to get might, they seemed more like one-time things. Going with the example of a particularly bloody god, he might have gotten a little bit of Might from all the slaughter that happened at the recent battle, or from a gigantic sacrifice. I don't like the idea of retroactively noticing something like a lot of Orders, give yourself a portfolio over them, and then get what's going to be a permanent couple might per turn (and then even more, as additional Holy Orders get made).
@Cyclone Yup yup, I understand. Don't think I'm presenting myself right. Basically, I need the exact numbers of the members of the Strong Tribe in its Order sense. As you may have noticed, Vowzra recently became the Patron God of Orders and gains Might from them, so I need the accurate number of all those who are members of the Strong Tribe and are thus part of the Order.
So, are the hunters the only members of the Strong Tribe in its Holy Order sense? Or are the full 500, hunter or not, members of the Order?
The difference seems rather arbitrary since I don't know what makes them in a "Holy Order sense". They all worship the Mighty One and such but only the 250 hunters actually get much in the way of the special powers and equipment. So we'll go with the lower number, because getting might from every last one of the Orders even when the gods that own said Orders don't even get that is rather cheap =P
I was vague and said around 500, because there's been several timeskips since when they were founded with 500 and so presumably they would have had more people (though recently the Dyun Champion and your victors cut their numbers back).
I've said repeatedly that not all of them really do much fighting, though. There's probably about 250 hunters left since there were 300 before the battle. The rest are decent warriors too but Ialu never really sends them out with his armies.
It only took me about a month to get around to making a sheet for the Strong Tribe.
Name: Strong Tribe
Description: A tribe with a population that usually hovers around 500 men and women, they were one of the first groups of humans on Galbar to organize themselves and settle into a village. They fared better than most when humanity was tested by winter, eternal night, and foul beasts. As a result they're rather numerous and have a fortified village atop a hill, with a moat, and walls and homes built from mud brick. This village is in a large grassland surrounded by forests, with a wide river cutting through it. They hunt in the woods and fish the river, while their vassals that share the grasslands mostly farm or rear herds of livestock for food.
For all the years that they have existed as a tribe they have followed only one chieftain, Ialu. They would all die in his name, and they worship the very ground that he walks upon. The Strong Tribe are named so simply and pridefully as a tribute to the Mighty One, the only god that they pay worship to. While many others might call that god fictional, his faithful consider themselves his blessed and chosen warriors: the tribe is feared and renowned as dragon slayers and great warriors. While they certainly have access to fine steel forged by their vassals, they still make plentiful use of cruder armor and weaponry forged from the teeth, leather, and scales of the dragons they've hunted.
Of the 500 or so in the tribe, all are capable of fighting and making use of Wi to some extent. Yet around 300 are Ialu's hunters, standing out from the others. Most liekly the most powerful Wi users on Galbar, the hunters can perform the telekinesis common to all humans, as well as their own twisted form of magic that involves tearing apart an enemy and killing them from the inside out through hemorrhages and the like. Now that they have dealt with Garakai and the Victors, they are also beginning to quickly pick up the art of Vistoc as well. In any case, aside from their magic they are the ones that make use of armor fashioned from the scales and leather of dragons. Incredibly light yet still hard as any steel, they are quick on their feet and as adept in melee as with their magic.
Well hell. First I figured that I was going to add War as a second domain, but then Kanros came along. Then I thought about the Sun, but then that got ninja'd as well, and by a horse no less
It's the general hypothesis as to why humans have leas diversity in their DNA than just about every other species in existence. I've heard before that around 70,000 BC a supervolcano reduced us to (in some of the lowest estimates) like 100 people.
