As if calling to or welcoming him, the doors slowly creeped open beckoning the stranger to enter.
The cold silence of escaping stale air resonated with a longing and loneliness. It was as if the building itself was aching and pleading for some company, for some purpose.

Then with a rustling gush of air the tavern inhales. Despair turned to hope swiftly sweeps in on a soft breeze. The heavy wooden door swung wide open and softly 'clanged' against the wooden wall to which its hinges were tied.

With the door fully open a forgotten light cascades into the wide open empty room. This new gleaming life reached across the decrepit wooden floors and still statuesque furniture, pausing at the foot of the bar and seemingly not daring to reach up the ancient grand oak stairway.

The once idle and ancient dust now stirred by the breeze played in the welcoming rays of sun. It swirled about in the air shimmering and dancing, giving a false life to these dead halls.

Thanks for the advice, I just didn't want it to sound too OP.
I'll find some alternate weaknesses instead :)
Hopefully have a WIP up soon for further critique.

The War of the Three: Exodus

So I just finished watching 'Altered Carbon' and it's got me inspired to make a character with the same concept.

His life and soul have been digitalised and can be put into different synthetic bodies or mechs. Happens automatically when he dies but he might not get all his latest memories depending on his latest upload.

My character is different because his soul/spirit is active like a ghost in these mechanical bodies. They are still stupidly expensive to replace, death is always painful and reawakening can take some time depending on where the next available body is.

This is my concept along with some early demonic intervention during his normal human years that set him on a very vengeful, demon hating path.

Biography: A young and daring photographer of the early 1940's he was renown for his risqué raw portraits and truthfully brave war photos. It was in that profession that he caught the attention of his future sire.

At first she lured him with her mysterious beauty, then the riches and glory of a celebrity lifestyle, later fear became the motivator. They had many years together.
When he eventually separated himself from her he reinvented himself by travelling afar and stealing a mortals identity.
A few years ago he returned to LA. A place that in their early kindred years was full of wild, rich and sentimental memories.
Seeking his former glory and lavish lifestyle he has taken the role of a plastic surgeon.
