The teams are basically this:
Instinct is Green, Valor is Red, Mystic is Blue.
Just like Green, Instinct is all about finding pokemon with high potential and then trusting in them and loving them to make them reach that potential as friends and partners. They love their pokemon like family and think that the pokemon are strong enough to not need their help, only their friendship.
Just like Blue, Mystic is basically like "I don't fucking know if pokemon are naturally weaker or stronger than others of their kind, let's catch a shitton, raise them with laboratory-like preciseness, and find the fuck out." Yeah they're the researchers, but that's what the fucking profs are for.
Just like Red, Valor is like "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK YOU I'M THE BEST AND IF YOU SAY OTHERWISE I'LL KICK YOUR FUCKING FACE IN YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH." They love their pokemon but want them to go past their limits, even if it means pushing them harder than they maybe should. They also are more likely than the other two to travel on long journeys only to get bored with crushing everyone they come across and go camp on a mountain somewhere.

I like Instinct because it's all about being friends with pokemon and that's sort of my thing, loving all my pokemon and only using the ones I like, even if they aren't as strong as others I could be using.
I like Mystic because it's all about learning about pokemon, which I like to do even though I never try to complete the pokedex, see also: I only use pokemon I like because I'm all about trusting and loving my pokemon. It also seems like the team most likely to be breeders and I'm always a breeder in the games. In SS and HG I was obsessed with the ruins of Alph, like, even though I never fill the pokedex, ever since crystal I've loved the ruins of Alph and the Unknowns, and have caught all 28 in SS and filled out the entire Alph report.
I like Valor because I intend to be the fucking best, it seems like the team top three waifus Mimi, Ryuko, and Chara would choose, (though they'd just as likely choose Instinct so bleh) my first ever pokemon games were yellow and red, and Red is a fucking boss, AND it's the only team led by a girl. Plus, Valor is doing research too, just on how to make pokemon stronger than they should normally be rather than on evolution.

FUCK Instinct is the breeding team. Spark is all about researching eggs and hatching, Nature over Nurture, which I believe and am also always a breeder in the games. Mystic is all about evolution which means they're probably really into Eevee, my fav pokemon, so there's that. Oh hey Mystic is led by a girl too apparently. Not cute enough though. Valor's all about training methods so Nurture over Nature, which I don't agree with, but still. Cutest girl.

I love that it was a mexican who first took the white house, not counting the blastoise that probably got it just by being the first to notice it's a gym. He's also taken over the senate. Trump's already lost. A mexican owns the white house and the senate.

As an Ingress player who joined about halfway through, considering PoGo is just pretty much a reskinned Ingress, I'm sure they will implement balances if they have not already.

I'm sure they will too, it's just that go will keep having a month or two of play and then nothing until a new update for most people.

Okay so team yellow is gay. I'll probably choose red. I like blue's motivation of learning everything about pokemon, but red's got a female leader and if I'm gonna fight for anyone, it's gonna be a cute girl.

I can already tell that it's going to ebb and flow. In like a month, most people will have all 150 and either be way too weak to stand a chance in gyms or so overpowered that nobody can stand up to them. Then trading will be added, and it'll kick up for a week as even more people hit the 150. Then battling other than gyms will happen and players will get stronger on the whole, but the ones who were already leading gyms will still be way ahead of anyone else unless they just stop playing altogether despite the updates. Then legendaries will happen and everyone will be using them only, so every gym battle will be legendary v legendary, and unless they change the way pokemon get stronger, there's really no way to upgrade them, so it'll stagnate and nobody will use regular pokemon anymore because they won't be able to compare with the legendaries and early gym leaders' super powered pokemon. Once everyone is just playing to catch a ton of dupes to upgrade one or two pokemon to back up their legendaries, nobody will play anymore. Then a johto update will come out and we'll have another month or two of what we have now. Rinse and repeat. Unless they totally overhaul the way pokemon get stronger, the gym systems, the battle system, maybe even the catching system at some point, all the game will be is "catch one of everything and use legendaries to do all the battling." If they eventually add a sort of pokeamie, then that would add a lot of life to the game again, but the game will always last for a couple months then die out until the next region update, then die down again after a couple months. It's been, what, a week since it launched? And the gap between current gym leaders and non-gym leaders is already impossibly large. Add in that a lot of people don't live near pokestops or gyms, and now you've got players who HAVE to pay to play, and can't battle at all.

Eventually. I'd like to see that. That or like only 1 million copies of each legendary so not everyone can have them. Make them actually legendary.
Mew exists in the middle of a giant rainforest where there isn't any coverage on any provider so people will have to actually brave the jungle and have special equipment in order to even have a chance to find it just like if it were the real pokemon world. Or it'll occasionally travel around the world randomly but not show up on the poketracker.
The other fairies will have similar impossible conditions, like Celebi will only be available on leap years or if you find a really tranquil forest with a lake in it and get really lucky. Jirachi will only be available on eclipses or meteor showers or when comets come by. Manaphy is at the place where oceans converge but you'll only find the egg that'll take 100 km to hatch or you might find Phionne. Victini is at the top of the highest building in the world or at some absurd depth below the surface or in abandoned buildings only on the day they're going to be torn down.
Unknown are found at historical sites that are run down like Rome and shit.
Raikou is only found during storms so bad that coverage gets too spotty to reliably use the app, Entei is at active volcanoes, Suicune wanders the lakes of the world randomly. Lugia is at the ocean where the equator and other thing I forget what it's called intersect. Hooh is found during wildfires or if the three dogs are all at the same location by some miracle.
Groudon is found at fault lines but only during earthquakes of them. Kyogre is at the Bermuda Triangle but only during rainstorms. Latios and Latias roam the planet randomly but are most commonly at in the desert oasis's because of the mirage thing. Deoxys is only found at meteor crash sites but only before the meteor is moved. VERY rarely it can be found at meteors in museums, and it's form will change if you go to a meteor just like in the game. Rayquaza is found at the top of the highest mountain in the world but only if the Bermuda Triangle has a rainstorm and there's a 5 or higher earthquake happening at the same time. Regice is found at glaciers or during blizzards, Registeel found at iron foundries or machine shops, Regirock is found in deep caves or on medium sized mountains. Regigigas can only be found at the land location where the equator and other line intersect but only if all three Regis are nearby where all owned by the same trainer or by separate trainers.
Dialga appears at the roman Parthenon or mt. Olympus but only for a single minute when daylight saving is changed at those locations. Palkia is found at the Hadron Collider or at the International Space Station. Creselia is found during eclipses or during specific phases of the moon and wanders the world. Mesprit is found at a specific lake on each continent but only to trainers who have raised a pokemon from the wild to incredibly high levels or if Go gets a poke amie esque function added and you maxed friendship with a bunch of your pokemon, Uxie is only found at a specific lake on each continent but only to trainers who can correctly answer difficult questions about pokemon and otherwise without closing the app, Azelf appears at a specific lake on each continent but only to trainers who spend two weeks within a certain range of it. Darkrai wanders the world during nighttime and more frequently during solar eclipses or blue moons. Shaymin can only be found at a beautiful flowering location in each country but only at exactly noon and during the middle of summer. Arceus wanders from holy site to holy site like the Vatican and the Israel locations everyone is fighting over, or Buddhist and Taoist and so on and so forth holy sites, but only on holy days for that religion. Giratina can be found in highly populated area that have a lot of glass on many buildings in the area, or at random highly populated areas but only at exactly midnight. Heatran is found at dormant volcanoes.
Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion randomly show up at places where natural or violent tragedies occur shortly afterwords. Keldeo will show up at thwarted disasters since he's still too young to know when he's actually supposed to show up. Tornadus and Thundurus show up at hurricane and tornado sites right before and right after them, so they'll often run into one of the three swords too. Landorus shows up right after places hit by these things are rebuilt. Meloetta appears at popular concerts that have enough people show up to. Genosect randomly shows up where any other legendary might appear as if it's hunting them. Kyurem is found at glaciers and caves during the winter where winters are harsh. Zekrom is found at electrical generator plants during massive thunderstorms. Reshiram is found during days where the temperature is above 100 degrees F randomly throughout the world.
Diance shows up in random caves or gem mines, and occasionally at jewelry shops. Hoopa shows up randomly across the world incredibly rarely, and somewhat more commonly at the arabian desert since it's basis is a djinn. Volcanion is at random mountains and places with tons of fog year round. Xerneus is found at ancient trees' forests very rarely. Yveltal is found at the location of any natural disaster that destroys nature, so it might show up around the sword trio or weather trio. It'll only definitely show up if a natural fire starts that kills ancient trees. (Natural to prevent people from fucking destroying forests, so like it would HAVE to be from a lightning strike only otherwise it won't show up.) Zygarde just wanders the planet in natural areas, and appears where humans are really fucking up the ecosystem somewhere or where natural disasters fuck up ecosystems. It'll become more common over time due to climate change unless we can reverse it somehow in the near future.

Articuno at the top point of Alaska or in Antarctica, Moltres in the circle of fire or Hawaii, Zapdos appears near nuclear power plants but only during massive thunderstorms...
Mewtwo of course is located on the moon, so good fucking luck with that.
