Ancient Greek lesson time!

ὡς δὴ καλὸν τὸ χρῆμα τιτθίων ἔχεις.

Basically, if you know the "Little Red Riding Hood" fairy tale, then you should be able to get the first line ("How large a mouth you have, grandma!).

ὡς = How! (Exclamatory)
ἔχεις = main verb, 2nd person singular, "have"
καλὸν = "beautiful, good, fine"
τὸ χρῆμα = when it takes a genitive case (what τιτθίων is in), it expresses size.

Edit: Blame this on Aristophanes, not me.

I see you used Google translate. First, Google Translate is a piece of %#@#. Second, the "Greek" it has is for modern Greek, not ancient.

Since I know that some of you have your heads buried in the gutter, I thought you might appreciate these two lines of Greek that I was reading for class today. Look up Aristophanes Lysistrata to find out what they mean (lines 84-5). ;) And yes, there is a Greek word that looks like a certain English word. It means the same thing.

I had to look back a couple posts because I couldn't remember what I was responding to.
