Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
The former vigilante wasn't particularly attentive to her surroundings, and gave in to the momentary respite the park provided. The sounds of nature, however artificial they were, ushered her into a state of relaxation. She leaned back against the tree, finishing the remainder of her sandwich, before picking up the fantasy novel. The previous entry had left off at a cliffhanger, so she was eager to- "Hey, Elliot. How are you settling in?" A squeak, not from a mouse but a girl, was his response.
It was easy to see he had accidentally frightened her, considering how her body jolted. Eliott's heartbeat was running at a million miles an hour, and she looked warily about for the person who had greeted her. Upon seeing Silas' face, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh... Silas..." She said between breaths, slowly calming herself down, hand resting on her heart. "You... frightened me a little..." She quickly set the book down between her legs, stacked on top of the philosophy one she had also taken. A firm tapping of the ground beside her indicated she was inviting him to sit. Apparently she was calm enough to want to talk. She was usually hard to approach, unless she felt comfortable. Her mind finally caught up with his question. "O-oh, uhh, I'm settling in OK, I think... I haven't talked to many people. Joseiah is funny. I like Valora. I want to know more about the people here, especially Epsilon team."
Her fingers absentmindedly pulled at the grass, twirling them round and round. She couldn't keep any sort of eye contact, but was able to speak clearly with her focus on the greenery. Her head was trying its best to think up something to keep the conversation going, but she never felt confident in her ability to converse. However, before he could speak, an idea struck: "S-sandwich?" She offered the toasted sandwich to Silas. It still radiated warmth from beneath the foil, and he could see a slight tremble as she held it out to him. She still couldn't face him, but it was the least she could do to be courteous. "I made it in case someone came up here... Or if I was still hungry..." Her mind automatically caught on to her mistake. 'Oh no!' She thought, anxiety slowly creeping in. 'He's going to think I'm fat for saying that...' @Prosaic If you'd like we can collab with our next post? c:
I also won't be posting tonight, as it's time for me to go to bed c: Looking forward to some interaction with Silas! I hope you don't mind @Prosaic! :D I wonder how this plot hook of mine will turn out? :3 (Hint: Eliott may have a few questions about his power and dead people)
Im going to give you active participation in the story, with the ability to adjust the scene for narrative appeal. If you need to blow something up for your post, you can probably go ahead and do it. If you need to show off some sick wrestling moves on some NPC guards, you totally can.
So like you said, I'll narrate the scenes and changes for each character or group, probably splitting my posts between them for each group. Ill try to be as specific and detailed as possible, using pictures to better narrate the scene, most of the time offering paths and choices and things to interact with. There will be no, go down path A, turn over at path B kind of thing, get back on path A.
But again, if you need to do something that changes things a bit, I'm going to let you do it and Ill react and change the scenes accordingly.
I hope I'm answering your question.
Just for the players' sake, I'd like to ask: would there be anything in particular that may require the GM's consultation? c: We wouldn't want to do things which might accidentally change the story, after all XD
Despite the alarm being heard within the psychologist's office, the man ushered the debut hero to stay. They were in the middle of a checkup, both for Eliott's bracers as well as her mental health, as her split personality sounded like a problem to the higher-ups. Despite her claims that she is in full control of herself, the rest of New Horizon don't share that kind of mentality. She had experience dealing with and talking to psychologists before, however they often brought up bad memories... "You appear to be doing well, Eliott. Your cooperation is appreciated." A small button beneath his desk silenced the alarm. It could be heard in the distance, but apparently disabled the speaker within his room. She nodded to show her understanding. "Your bracers seem to be fine and well-calibrated. No adverse effects..." He pointed to a not he had scribbled a half-hour earlier. "But I would like to ask you a few questions before you go. Just some little things, bits about the Tower and whatnot. Please, be honest with me, I know you're not a bad person."
"That sounds OK." Responded the meek voice of Eliott. She still hadn't quite grown accustomed to his presence, as well as that of the other heroes, but was making progress. "Alright, how do you feel about living in The Tower? Do you feel safe? Do you get along with the other heroes?" There was a pause. Eliott liked to think over her answers carefully. "It's comfortable. I haven't made an impression with everyone, but there are some who I like, some who I don't. I-I want to get to know them..." "That's fine, that's fine." More scribbles. "And how goes the training? I hear you're almost finished?" Eliott nodded again. "Almost finished. I might get to go on the next mission, or so they say. I have a test to do, and that's apparently the end of it."
The psychologist raised an eyebrow. "Congratulations! You're pretty quick, huh? It took some heroes here much longer to reach where you are now." He cleared his throat and leaned in, catching Eliott's affirmative hum. She could already tell what he would ask next. From her experience, they tended to feed into a conversation, as opposed to ask random questions. "Then do you mind if I ask if that 'other you' has came out much?" Eliot shrugged. "Eliott, please. I need to know." Eyes looked down to towards the floor. She frowned. "A little." She sighed. He nodded and wrote some more., but didn't say anything, silently pressuring her to keep talking. She gave in. "I... I get a bit more excited at the practical things. But I'm quieter when I do the written things..." That much he already knew, but it seemed like Eliott wasn't willing to divulge anymore information. While it did worry him, he wasn't going to push her, and instead let out a relieved sigh. "OK. OK! That's good - this is good!" Reider's gaze returned to the man, confused. "We're about to run out of time, so let me ask you a couple more questions before you leave. Is that OK?"
Another couple minutes of questions came at her, and she did her best to answer them well-enough. Most had to do with the Tower, the heroes, and how she herself felt. Though none of them were particularly hard, she came out of the psychologist's room feeling tired, like she had just undergone exercise. She was beckoned to visit the park on the roof; some peace and quiet would be hard to find with all the other heroes around, and the sense of nature it provided was refreshing as always. But first, food. She made her way to her own room, and prepared a pair of sandwiches. It was a simple meal - lettuce, tomato, bacon, buns toasted. She made two in case anyone came to visit her while she was up there. Hallway, elevator, hallway, stairs; the roof was a long walk to get to. It wasn't visited by too many heroes, which is why she found it relaxing. She'd brought books with her, one about philosophy and another about fantasy. Her choice of books never really had a preference, just those that seemed interesting to her.
The park, as ever, was beautiful. Her favorite place by far was beside the pond under a tree. It was shady, and the grass was just soft enough to lay down on. The tree served as a nice backrest when it came to reading, and the serenity of it all often put her mind at peace. Even when people came to play volleyball, the sound was drowned out by the flowing of water, and the tree's thick trunk meant sound couldn't penetrate it. She could still mute sound if things were really bad, but then she wouldn't be able to hear the birds. True, they weren't really there and were just sounds produced by the dome, but it added to the relaxing vibe of the park nonetheless. As she found her place, her spot, she settled into it comfortably. The toasted sandwich was good, just as she had learnt, and reminded her that she needed to cook more often. The thought of cooking for other heroes crossed her mind. It sounded nice, since she hadn't been invited to anyone else's cooking yet, but there were some faces she was unsure of inviting. Perhaps a smaller crowd -- Epsilon -- would be ideal?
She lost herself to thought, absentmindedly chewing her toasted sandwich, even as the announcement that the other heroes had returned echoed throughout the park...
Gonna make a post soon, sorry to keep ya'll waiting ^-^ I know Claw has fell into a writing slump of sorts, and I can't say when he'll be able to respond, but mine will likely be tomorrow :D

Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn
to survive.

~Exurb1a
