Current I think I'm Advanced+ level and could do that. But under Adv, I feel compelled to write a certain way and it makes writing feel more like a chore even if it's just in my head. Thus, I prefer Casual

Many people equate "Advanced" to "Big, high effort posts with lots of flowery language." It's a habitual thought I struggle to shake as an RPer with 20+ years of writing experience. It's very draining

Alrighty, sounds good. I'll incorporate that into my next post as a bit of an epiphany he has. xD

And yeah, you would be correct. During the events of The Darkest Faerie, the Bogshot Swamp was where the Council of Altador (before recorded history) banished the Kastraliss. It remained dormant in its statue form until the Darkest Faerie's magic spread to the region and restored it to life. The Kastraliss, with her power, was the cause of the plague, and was guarding the only plant that could be used to cure it, the Bogberries (which needed to be made into a potion by the apothecary). So it was actually Tormund and Roberta who saved the day by defeating the Kastraliss, who in turn returned into his statue form. They obtained the Bog Berries and helped to cure the Squamata Plague.

Though this does raise an interesting question: How far ahead of "Neopets canon" does this take place? Obviously, it can't be a HUGE amount of time if Skarl and Hagan are still in command (unless Skeiths just live for a ridiculously long time since lifespans are never mentioned on Neopets for obvious reasons xD).
Sure, why not? xD I wasn't sure whether or not he'd know much about Bogshot. But a knight he looked up to did go there: Tormund. So I guess this roll might make sense.

Accidentally rolled two, but the first result was a 16-1=15 total, so there we go? xD

Ferrin's gaze locked with the Bori and he smirked at him. That challenging look was returned in kind, as Ferrin gave him a confident smirk of his own. However, he didn't say anything aloud and simply watched as the Ixi a couple seats down finally lowered her hood, giving him a good look at her face for the first time. He was obviously caught a bit off-guard by the color of the hair. Dressing with such a contrasting color was always more of a noble thing; soldiers usually kept their hair, if any, close to their species color, to avoid standing out. Given how the Ixi was carrying herself, he had expected a similar mindset. But clearly, he was wrong about that. He supposed she just liked the color? He knew he certainly did, as a small smile formed on his face.

"Bogshot?" Ferrin said as Eloween introduced herself. Something about that tugged at his memory. He'd definitely heard of the place before, but what could he be thinking of...? It definitely wasn't a place he'd visited before, so then what...? He crossed his arms and thought back to what he knew about Meridell and its surrounding lands. However, before he could continue his train of thought, Eloween continued to introduce herself and her skillset. As he watched her, however, he began to frown a bit. He certainly didn't disapprove of her or anything like that, but there was something about her that continued to bother her.... However, he didn't say anything. If he did, he might only make her feel worse.

"Yeah, that all sounds pretty useful to me," Ferrin replied, taking another bite and swallowing it before continuing. "I can't tell you how much easier some of my missions would have been if I'd picked up some archery. And Meridell's pretty skimpy on magic, so I bet that'll be helpful. We usually relied on Lady Kauvara's potion brewing skills and Motes for most things magic-related."

Greetings, all! How did the holidays fare for you lot?~ Had relatives over until just this morning myself. It was a fun time while they were here, but I’m glad to have my house back to a normal population again xD
Hap Nu Yr to all!~
Name: Vaeros, the Hunter
Sex: Male
Race: Kobold (Red)
Age: 11

Bio: Originally, Vaeros did nothing to stand out from the tribe. He spent much of his time digging tunnels on the hunt for gemstones just like any other common worker, and occasionally helping to hunt for food or supplies. However, on a small, seemingly routine hunting expedition, the group was ambushed by another creature on the hunt: a bloodthirsty harpy. Despite the group's best efforts to fight back, they were overwhelmed, and a handful of them ended up getting captured and carried off....

He remained missing from the tribe for over a week, and was thus presumed dead, a victim of the powerful harpy that took him off. However, he would one day be found in the forest surrounding their tribe's home, collapsed and wounded, a bow in his grasp and a quiver of arrows strapped to his back....

He did not discuss much of what happened; only that the harpy was dead and his wounds had been from the harpy itself. He did not even mention where the bow or quiver had come from. Since he refused to provide much information, however, many of the tribe began to believe that he had taken care of it himself. As a result, he was often added to many hunting parties by default, and he simply rolled with it.

However, there was a noticeable change in his behavior ever since. He mostly kept to himself, and he tended to silently venture outside of the cavern every now and then. Though he kept to the shadows, he would make trips to the outside on many occasions, and return later than he probably should. He became seemingly obsessed with his new tools, cleaning the bow and constructing arrows, or even attempting--but failing--to recreate the bow he was currently using through amateur woodcarving whenever he wasn't busy with working for the tribe.

He also began to claim to have one goal: He was going to defend the tribe from any threats to the best of his ability.
I'd like my character to have a mount or pet. Seeing as how we're playing as kobolds, I was thinking either of the reptilian or dinosaurian variety. I'm assuming that this story will be based more on D&D, so would anyone recommend something?

This is to be approved by OP, but in my experience, there are rare occurrences where Kobolds ride giant badgers, spiders, and giant lizards. Stronger tribes might use Drakes, Mastiffs or Gricks, though.
Excellent. In that case, I might just jump in on this. I get so few opportunities to use my Kobold boi. Every time I get into a D&D campaign where they let me use him, it falls off almost immediately
@Aristocles

Hey there, I usually avoid Large Group RPs since I have a strong preference for smaller groups, but I love kobolds (they are my go-to race of choice xD), so I might make an exception. But, before I decide that (and thus take the time to join a Discord), I should ask something real quick:

I get that the idea of this tribe is to be your typical Kobold tribe; a focus on mining and digging in the dark, limited tools, etc. And I'm definitely cool with that; it'll be different from my own usual koboldfare (I actually have this entire network of varying kobold tribes of various colors and how they work as an interconnected whole in my own setting xD).

But, say I have a kobold character with a particular interest in hunting. Would it be possible for them to get their claws on a bow, and learned to carve arrows out of wood, stone and feathers over time? My main kobold character can be repurposed for this, but archery is tied into his character pretty tightly. I don't mind if he's kind of considered "weird" for his obsession with it and/or is the only "archer" in the entire tribe. But if that's not acceptable for this (and I'd definitely understand that), then I'd probably have to figure something else out.
Will do~ As am I!
