When we get villains with minions then it can be used more effectively. In truth I missed that part of the cs

*cough*Saibamen*cough*

Alright, I'll let it go. Jeez.
If anyone's curious I'm going to be implying that Yang has a rather acute ability to sense Ki... more so than an average Z-fighter. Take for instance his suspicion that Raditz (aka the large Ki he senses) has more power that he still isn't showing yet. I'm also going out of my way to emphasize how much control Yang has over his Ki, as that's going to be another unique trait of his... that he can be more precise about how much he raises or lowers his power level.

"No, this is my father. You really think he would allow himself to be photo'd otherwise?" that single bit of logic would have to be enough to prove his case for the time being, "But if he's your father too... clearly there's more to the story than either of us know." notably he didn't exactly question her response. He really didn't think she'd have any reason to lie about something so specific. Besides, from what he knew, Saiyans weren't exactly into playing mind games. A conversation between the two would have to happen eventually, but it had to be put on hold for now.

It was the shout coming from the other that reminded Yang that he was not alone with the Saiyan. In assuming the other person was leaving, he'd briefly let his guard down. And after shouting about his intentions, the strange man flew off in the direction of the gathered Ki, "No, WAIT!" Yang shouted in response. This was a dangerous game to take part in, but he had no choice. The stranger had murderous intent, but more importantly, the Ki Yang could feel coming from the city was unlike anything he had ever felt before. And to make things worse, he was certain it was only the tip of a giant and ugly iceberg. He shot a glance at the Saiyan, unsure of her intentions. But his were clear... Yang floated up and prepared to fly after the stranger. His Ki only rose a small bit, enough to fly and that was it for the moment. That would be reflected on the Scouter, as his power level of 10 made a small jump to 50.

"Ah, yes, forgive my rudeness." Yang offered a quick and short bow, "May name is Yang." he said, turning the photo around to look at it for himself, "This man is... was my father, and I was hoping to learn what happened to him. I believe this image was taken before I was born, I don't know if he's changed at all since then or if he's even still alive." he closed his eyes and took a small breath of air, "I've told you what you wish to know, so please kindly return the favor..." throughout this exchange, Yang's Ki lowered itself. What would have been a full 400 on the Saiyan's scouter gradually fell down to a mere 10. Probably an oddity for someone who had never heard of controlling Ki before.

It looked like the Saiyan's opponent was turning to leave, a positive sign as far as Yang could tell. As such he let himself focus more fully on the Saiyan woman as he awaited an answer. Before that answer could come, Yang's senses were hit like a ton of bricks and he suddenly jerked his gaze in the direction of a distant city, "Incredible Ki... all converged over there." he said to himself, aloud, then asked one more question of the Saiyan, "You didn't come here alone did you? I only know a small amount about the Saiyans, but enough to know that they're a race of warriors and conquerors. Is that what you're here for? To conquer us?" he widened the stance of his legs ever so slightly, as if to enter a fighting stance. However, his arms remained lowered save for the hand that held the photo. And through it all, his Ki remained lowered, the Scouter wouldn't show a single numerical change in his power level after it fell down to 10 earlier.
@TheForgottenArc@geminironin
I am SO sorry for not posting. All this time I was waiting for Forgotten and it turns out he posted five days ago. I feel very silly. I'll get a post up ASAP.
@Fallenreaper Not the scariest retelling in the world, but I don't suppose The Tortoise And The Hare gives you much to work with in that regard. Nice idea making Hare's loss due to nefarious interference. Honestly I wouldn't mind drudging that up as a case to be solved later. Give Hare some closure about the race and stuff. One last caveat before I accept you, though. Fables tend to hide themselves from Mundanes, as some of them share stories of Fables effectively falling victim to lynch mobs because of what the more villainous or monstrous Fables had been known to do to Mundanes and other victims. Otherwise, it's acceptable. Also note that Rolfe and Basil will have been hesitant to hire a Fable, and yes, they'll know exactly what he is well ahead of time. They make a point of knowing who all the Fables in Ravenport are and what they can do, Hare would be no exception to this. They'll hire him but also tell him on no uncertain terms that they'll be watching him closely and that he would be wise to keep his nose squeaky clean while working for them.
@Fallenreaper Probably. I tend not to accept characters before actually seeing them first.
@mattmanganon I'm sorry to say that I don't consider that to be a valid argument. When one character is clearly going to be overpowered for no other reason than "plot" then other players are prone to losing their motivation to continue playing. After all, what's the point in trying if you already know a specific character is just going to magically be stronger for no justifiable reason whatsoever? There's adhering to a narrative, and then there's just asking me to accept something that is flat out impossible.
@mattmanganon Maybe the Galick Gun isn't as important but it's still an absurd pill to swallow. Saiyans have absolutely zero respect for anyone that isn't one of them. That goes double for Vegeta in particular. And you failed to answer my second point regarding skill over power levels. If skill really does trump battle power, then riddle me this, Batman: Where was Zhao when Planet Vegeta was blown up? Why didn't she just march on up to Frieza and whoop his ass because of all her skill and training somehow being more effective than Frieza's power level?
