But you just complained about how there were so many bios that brought up the tournament, so...? Yeah the Saiyans are coming to earth, but the characters on earth don't know that and if they're supposed to, then that should've been clarified is all.

When did I say they should? At no point did I type those words. Some words I DID type, on the other hand, are in Negi's bio where it says plainly that the last Tournament was two years ago and that it would be another year at least before the next one.
@Headhunter The keywords there being "heading to Earth". As in that's how it's going to open. So no, I don't see how Tournament Opening is in any way a "reasonable assumption".
@Eviledd1984 So an actual alien lands in the middle of the big city... and he just gets community service? No government people moving in to take him away for questioning or experimentation or whatever? That's sort of why I preferred the first option of my suggestions, cleaner and raises fewer questions.

@Headhunter They can go to Papaya Island if they want to, but they won't find any tournament going on there. I'm not sure why so many bios have brought up the tournament as if we're opening on one but... well, we're not. We're opening with Saiyans landing on Earth. No Tournament happening any time in the near future.

@Weird Tales I see nothing wrong here, he's good to go.
@Genon

Let me answer the questions one at a time:

1. It's not that closely related, no. The Dragon Balls exist, as do many of the planets from Canon but not much beyond that.

2. Canon Characters, for the most part, don't exist here. A few select villains will show up but the characters will largely be original.

3. The power gap will be much narrower. My intention is for the Races to feel distinct from each other without letting one overpower all the others. While it's true that Namekians and Saiyans may still commonly possess higher raw power levels, Humans are specifically intended to be far more versatile. They will be learning more techniques than any other race which means they will get to have a larger pool of skills to rely on in battle.
@Chev Okie dokie, she's all good then.
@Eviledd1984 Well, namely, did he land somewhere remote and just sort of quietly integrated himself into the population or did he land in the middle of some city and cause a societal meltdown? Personally I prefer the former, but you get the idea. About the only thing that makes him different from humans is the blue skin. And honestly, when the Earth in this setting is known for having people like Chiaotzu, then a dude with blueish skin probably isn't going to be too difficult to explain away.

@Chev If I may ask, did her pod drift for 5 years before it finally made it to Earth? Just wanted to clarify that Planet Vegeta's destruction was five years ago and Negi would have arrived on Earth some weeks or months after that. It would be awfully hard for a second pod to also end up on Earth without Negi or someone else detecting it. Like I said, if the pod's been drifting with her in stasis for 5 years then I can accept that, otherwise... I'm not so sure.
@Eviledd1984 That seems fine but could I get a bit more detail about his arrival on Earth? That's a bit of an important detail that I'd rather not leave out.
@NylaofShadows Most of those holes you mentioned are filled in by Negi's character bio. It goes into more detail about the planet's destruction and how and why he's been able to hide on Earth. And even then, the hiding only lasted five years before he is found by the arriving Saiyans. And the timing if the destruction of the planet is important, it happened 5 years before the game starts, and Negi and Okuras war happened immediately afterwards. According to Chayots age, she would have been 18 at that time, so we'll old enough to be aware of it and even have a stake in its outcome.
@NylaofShadows Planet Vegeta was destroyed because the plot demands it. Just because Canon Events didn't happen is no excuse for not reading the plot synopsis, which clearly points out that Planet Vegeta. I don't know why you're being argumentive about this.
@mattmanganon Alright, looks to be in order now. You're good to go.
