Sabrina was laying on her bed wearing headphones and listening to a podcast when Bugbear, her kitten sized freak of nature and one of the few creatures she let wander about without supervision, was sitting next to the pillow on the bed gently headbutting her, determined to get her up. Pulling off the headphones it was immediately clear why, sounds of pain and fear could just barely be heard emanating from somewhere in the Cafe. She roes and drew back the curtains that shrouded her bed, the creature landing on her shoulder, cling on to her as she tried to get a grip on the situation.

Are we under attack? Is someone hurt?

She mumbled to herself as she stumbled out into her room, going to fetch the things she would need if either was the case. Looking around the room it would immediately obvious to the observer why the bed had curtains around it, several large cylinders of softly glowing light where situated about the room, illuminating the chamber in a dull orange glow. Within these columns half completed monstrous things rested, ready to be fused with her body or requiring completion to become autonomous servants. Along with this there were several fridges holding flesh for her work, along one kept distinctly separate from the rest and specifically labeled with fridge magnets that held alcohol and caffeinated drinks. The rest of the room was mostly filled with boxes full of scavenged machine parts: gutted computers, limbs of broken droids, heat-sinks, batteries and large boxes of wiring and circuit boards. Most of the room had been amateurly tiled like a bathroom and indeed there was a sink located against one wall, along with a mop and bucket. Finally, next to the bed was a part of the room that actually looked like someone lived there, a battered desk was home to a PC, a few books and sketch pads with designs or notes haphazardly scribbled on them.

Next to this was a wardrobe that was promptly flung open and a medical case, a simple pistol and a lab coat, which was hastily thrown over Sabrina’s casual cloths, were pulled out before she burst out of the room looking for the source of the noise, signaling for one of the chipped combat creatures to follow her. The small beast awoke and padded after her as she rushed away towards floor B1.

She bust through the door of the living room, coat flapping behind her, BugBear clinging to her shoulder, medical case in one hand and the handgun held awkwardly sticking out of one of the coat's pockets. She was followed by a jet black creature that came up to about her knees that looked like a dog she had tried to make into a dragon. Parts of the creature's scaly skin were breached by orange glow where the internal powers system needed to vent excess heat, the same glow emanated from the creature's mouth allowing its bites to also badly burn whatever it latched onto if it was currently fired up enough.

I heard someone screaming, what going…

It was at this point she noticed the source of the sound, the young man with the bullet wound laying on the sofa.

Good evening to you both, I hope you don't mind if I take a look at the young gentleman there? My magic involves working with flesh so I may be able to do something to at least stem the bleeding. Biter take this.

She dropped the pistol (which it turned out she had forgotten to load in her haste) to the creature and the beast obediently griped it in it's jaw, as Sabrina stored up to the wounded individual, plonking the case down next to him and kneeling down to inspect the injury. She flicked open the case which primarily contained some disposable gloves and 2 coulombs of light containing respectively: a blob of stem cells she had carefully cultivated from animal bone marrow and then altered slightly to be human compatible and Meld, a substance used to bond magitec to flesh. She retrieved a pair of gloves and quickly snapped the case shut again because though they were useful the contents of the meat cylinder were not a pretty sight and she would rather not disturb either the subject or the unknown man with the exact nature of her craft at this time.

Right. Let’s take a look at this wound shall we. I am going to use my magic to see the depths of the injury so do not be alarmed by the light and try to remain still.

She made a circular motion with a finger above the wound and a ring of light forming as she traced it. Then, placing her palm to the circle, extended a column of light from it into the damaged zone.

Hmm. There's debris still lodged in there, if we can get it out I can repair your body.

She turned to the others in the room and asked.

If anyone has the ability to easily get it out or destroy it that would be most helpful, otherwise I am going to have to widen the injury to get at the shrapnel, which is going to take a while and could make the situation worse.
I'll make a finalizing post with the AI conversation and then I will be ready to move on as well

Just in time for me to be off to bed. I will see to the patient in the morning.
@Gutshot

hopefully this does not involve shooting the messenger.
or in this case punching her, which probably poofs the civilian cast gem.
Brother Felbane of the Angels of Absolution had apparently decided they were in charge and ordered the rest of the kill team to form up alongside him in the direction he had arbitrarily chosen when dismounting. Due to the lack of information about the external space combat, due to the lack of camera feed on the boarding craft, it was not at all clear where they had hit the enemy vessel and thus where the objective was. It could very well be that they were heading the wrong way. Still, Felbane‘s swift commands did give them unit cohesion and a purpose as well as getting them away from the impact site before they could be surrounded. He followed their direction for now, beginning to advance along side Brother Ironmarch, having returned the individuals nod and hoping the Harbingers did not run in front of his line of fire in their eagerness for glory.

They flicked off the safety on their shotgun, readying the Wyrmsbreath round loaded weapon to fill the corridor in front of them with a burring wall of death. While he advanced he made sure the skull probe continued to keep an eye on their rear in case the cocky Ultramarine's eyeballs failed him, the way behind having been obscured by steam that the probe may have a better chance of seeing through. Draksal Corbite then open communication with the Watch-captain, intending to resolve the direction issue.

Watch-captain Roa, is it known where in the enemy vessel the Assault Ram has impacted? Such information would improve our ability to find the bridge. In a similar vein, where is the shadowfeild located on this type of vessel?

I am probably going to change my character to female because I like this artwork

way more than the one I was using.

Sorry about making more work for you @Asuras with the really cool links you made for the char page

Not that it matters much because most of the time because they are going to look like a giant monster.

Actually now that I think about it gender basically means nothing for someone who regularly messes with their own biology to this degree.

The spirit of the local woods: they are a stuck up old jerk.

Bio/History
She is effectively the anthropomorphic personification of the local Botanic Gardens, having existed there since it was founded over 200 years ago. Thus she owes her existence to humans so, unlike most forest spirits, rather than being seeing them as destructive pests she has seen how many of them diligently look after her subjects, going to great lengths to study and preserve them, partially for research purposes but also simply out of an appreciation of the beauty of nature. The constant exposure to humans has lead to a quiet fascination with them, it was a great day whenever any of them forgot some book, or more recently laptop, and she would eagerly peruse and absorb all the information she could about the odd creatures before they or some gardener came looking for the lost item.

Unfortunately humans are easily spooked, so after the first few attempts at communication in the 1800 had resulted in the humans either running away screaming or assuming they had gone mad she had gotten into the habit of simply blending in with the surrounding foliage and resigned herself to her lonely existence. That is until she read about the supernatural integration policy in a newspaper, the man over whose shoulder she was reading was quite surprised when the small tree he was leaning against suddenly set off at a brisk pace for the mayor's residence.

A bright orange flash briefly lit up the kindergarten, as if for a moment dawn had somehow penetrated through the city streets down to the canyon to greet the newborns. For some it might have been reassuring that they were not alone, for Howlite it left her blinded and flailing, the distant sound of rock being crushed flowing this up where rather terrifying. If anyone had seen her they would have seen a rather panicked gem covering her eyes with one hand and flailing about with her Gladius in the other. Fortunately the Clinohumite took some time to work out her frustration and thus once the bright orange gem arrived, standing out like an inferno in the dull stone cavern, she had managed to compose herself and had put away the blade. The Clinohumite was then followed by a yellow gem who appeared to have simply walked down the wall to meet them.

She decided to look up what the kindergarten had to say on these particular gem types as the individuals in question approached and requested to be shown to their superiors. Fortunately data retrieval was relatively low on the power requirement scale as she could simply use her Techno-Empathy to read the data without needing display devices.

Cymophane
A Chameleon Gem
Abilities: Terrain navigation via surface adhesion, they also have the ability to use an active camouflage system to hide themselves from sight

Clinohumite
A Burrowing Soldier Gem
These are a prototype super soldier gem that were undergoing testing in the battle against the Crystal Gems
Abilities: capable of tunneling through solid surfaces they are designed to ambush hostiles by burrowing into the soft soil of the earth and then leaping out at unsuspecting foes
Gem type deemed a failure, all known specimens were decommissioned.

The decommissioned part worried Howlite a little, because it was not particularly clear why this had been the case, it might have been because they were dangerous to their fellow Gems, though the polite nature of the soldiers request put her somewhat at ease. In the end it didn’t really matter, their masters were gone and this Clinohumite was going to have to deal with that fact. So perhaps she would keep this information to herself for the time being rather than overwhelm her with revelations. At any rate, as a human had once said, it was time to rip off the bandaid. The first one at least.

Ah! Damn and blast it. My eyes. Again!

At least she was going to do so when a green flash lit up the cavern, once again blinding her. This time she simply plopped down on the ground, the ring at the end of her braid making a soft ‘klink’ sound as it hit the rock, seating herself and covering her eyes, waiting for the pain to go away and her eyesight to return. Two more sounds of rock being pulverized were heard, equally unnerving as the last time so she was grateful for the wonderful human stress relieving concept that was swearing, it calmed her down enough to get back to the matter at hand.

You two may want to sit down for what I am going to tell you

She decided she might as well let the two get over their predicament while she was incapacitated, so from her seated position she informed them.

There are no higher ups. I have been up for quite some time and have looked all over for them, not just in the kindergarten but the surrounding area as well. Not only could I not find any but none of the humans seemed to have any idea there was ever was a massive gem presence on the planet, so it probably been awhile since they left or died or got mutated or something. As far as I know there's just me, the humans, nature and a bunch of gem based monstrosities left on the planet. And now you two as well I guess. And possibly some others, judging from the blasted light show and those sounds. Maybe like four more have or will emerge according to the kindergarten’s monitoring system. anyway, welcome to earth, where you have no purpose so you have to make it up as you go along.

She shrugged and awaited the newborns mental breakdown. She realized that once they calmed down Clinohumite’s digging ability and Cymophane’s climbing skill would be useful for getting her back to the surface, where hopefully she could tap into one of the numerous electronic devices the humans had apparently made and get her more power hungry stuff working again.
@Gutshot

that is what i had in mind, a secret weighing on Howlite's mind about her new found ally/friend.
I will add the scrapping to what is effectively going to be Clinohumite's Pokedex entry.
@Gutshot

A brilliant orange flash could be seen

This blinds the Howlite.

I love idea of the episode title under her name, that's really fun.

quick question, seeing as Howlite has basically stolen the the command and control system of the kindergarten and strapped it to her hair I was wondering if you want the scraping of Clinohumite's sisters to be on there? Howlite would probably keep it to herself initially anyway, the "yeah I think they abandons us and its been ages since the war" bombshell would be enough of a shock already, but it would like to leave said decision on this particular piece of information to you.
