Right as the shooting started one of the doors on the side of the armored van leading to the back was flung open and in was hurled a bicycle, followed swiftly by a panicked advent. She slammed the door shut behind her, took a moment to collect herself now that the immediate risk of being shot was over and then promptly strapped herself to one of the available seats, retrieved her cases from the side of the bike and then folded up the bike so it was not in the way.

Sooooo, into the Wirefort then? Also to clarify are we running away or helping these guys so we can get info from them afterwards?

There really wasn’t anywhere else to go as both ends of the street where currently blocked by hostiles, maybe they could get through the Wirefort base and get out the other side.

While their creator was busy trying very hard not to get shot, three wolf like creatures crawled out of a nearby service tunnel onto the street a little way off from the conflict. What was interesting about these creatures apart from their already exotic appearance where the large cannon looking organisms attached between their shoulder blades and poking over their heads. They rounded the corner a block away from the fire fight, paused while their canons judged the range and then launched 3 large seed pods towards the groups of foot soldiers. The three then made a run for it in order to avoid any returning fire.

The three large pods landed in the mists of the attackers and then split, poisonous vine like tendrils covered in thorns rapidly growing from the seeds and wrapped themselves around the assailants. The tendrils slashed at exposed flesh as they grew, wrapped themselves around the victim's legs arms and weapons, trapping them in the tangled briar patch that had erupted at their feet. 12 of the foot slogging thugs were caught in this manner, and while not dead they would have difficulty breaking out or continuing to fight as a result of the constriction, many bleeding wounds and rashes received from the poison ivy based plant.
Rose “ly’lnd” Cythla

A few hours before dawn

If you were to examine the Tokyo penthouse suite owned by Rose Cythilla the first thing you might notice was how it was 90% library, with almost every wall lined with bookshelves. These shelves held everything from the works of Terry Pratchett and Iain M banks to historical texts and, pride of place, a copy of the Necronomicon sitting just below a PHD from the Miskatonic university. You might ask yourself how the young scientist had afforded such a place, the answer officially being her the very rich nature of the Cythilla family. In reality it was her large network of Deep ones that lived in coastal cities through out the world who had amassed that wealth and had pumped some of it into creating a backstory for their creator, to let her live free of suspicion when the 22 year old looking woman walked out of the sea one day. You might ask afterwards where she was, as the woman was strangely absent from her abode despite the sun still not being up and lack of current emergency to drag her out to work at this time.

The answer could be found if the curious individual were to need to use the bathroom during their snooping and in doing so was curious as to why the bathtub was full. Peering over the lip and into the water the far to inquisitive individual might be driven mad by what they saw, for the water somehow led to a palace deep beneath the sea, a place built with non-Euclidean geometry and Escher architecture.

If the unfortunate intruder where, in their panic and confusion, to fall into the tub they would find themselves far away at the bottom of the southern Pacific Ocean and be able to hear the end of a strange chanting echoing through the warped halls.

“Ch' ly’lnd, bug kadishtu shugg, hai f'-lloig wgah'n 'bthnk f'-gof'nn uaaah” *

The the transforming ritual was reaffirmed for another day and so the ly’lnd: star spawn of Cthulhu was once again able to shrink to the diminutive body of Rose Cythilla, Scientific Observer for the GDF and Kaiju expert. Fortunately nobody had ever tried to break into her home, so as Rose swam through her true home towards her temporary one in Tokyo, she did not meet a drowning intruder and instead launched herself through the portal, landing gracefully in her bathroom. There she swiftly dried herself, donned her work attire and, pausing to select a book to read while she on the Tokyo subway, set off to work.

*Crossover rose, go understand realm of earth, now their mind reside in body of their children

The KGDF Headquarters: - TOKYO, JAPAN

Rose worked as part of the scientific staff for the GDF, she was primarily part of a team that would be on the scene of a Kaiju attack, observing the battle in person from helicopter or other transport, taking notes, offering suggestions to the androids based on prior battles and also having rapid access to the cadaver of the defeated Kaiju. This notably also allowed Rose to be close and intervene if she felt it was necessary as she went to go 'take a closer look’ at the battle.

Rose had checked in with her servants via their psychic communication on the way here and so far both the, small but notable percentage of the staff and the deep ones living in the colony some way of the coast had nothing of note to report in terms of incoming hostiles. it looked like it was going to be another day of looking over old data and acting as the occasional consultant on various Kaiju related issues where she always pushed for advancement rather than stagnation. The amount of times she had had to argue against building massive walls and the like as a defensive measure was starting to get on her nerves. Humanity needed to keep pushing itself if it wanted to survive and then thrive on the galactic stage. As her servants of course.

Rose settled into her little corner of the office space along with her team, located conveniently next to the exit for when they needed to get to transports quickly, and tied to stay out of the way of the rest of the staff as they busied themselves with the day to day running of such a vast organisation. With the Kaiju front quiet and anyone wanting to ask questions about them currently worrying more about moving the existing androids than developing new ones, she settled down to trawl the existing data to try and see if she could work out when the next attack would be. She would go out and be more proactive at her job/mission once the morning rush had settle down, perhaps to see the american androids one more time before they had to leave.

Before the ship was locked a final ‘person’ joined the party, a trench coat hovering slightly above the ground with a balloon, which had a smiley face drawn on it, sticking out where ahead might be, two little sticks poking out the bottom that were clearly not supporting the rest of the construction and two grabber sticks coming out of the sleeves. This oddity lurched oddly down the ramp, the legs ineffectual trying to imitate walking, before it stopped in front of Elarin. If you where to listen closely the sound of several voices engaged in a brief argument along with the sound of someone typing could be heard from the chest of the balloon head man. Right afterwards the unmistakable sound of microsoft sam speaking for the contraption could be heard coming from just below the balloon.

”Hello fellow solo, what a wonderful day it is to be an individual. I am looking forward to this party we ar going to. Oh yes indeed. As a pilot you will make an excellent wingman. Come, we go forwards as two completely independent individuals ”

The balloon man then staggered off drunkenly after the rest of the swarm.

Some of the bees had arrived at the door and, placing their ear and antenna to the door overheard the situation on the other side. It appears the suspicions may have been correct, these scoundrels had intercepted Hip Kallo and stolen his clothes and identity (poorly)

”good work you two. Toony keep ahold of our friend there as he does the knock. Vanessa as soon as the door opens pop behind the two scoundrels that are waiting on the other side with the actual greeter, while we take the front”

The bees collected around the door, the soldiers drawing their rifles and the red shirt bees drawing their small stinger swords and laser pistols. The whole armed swarm buzzed in a hemisphere around the door as the civilian specialists buzzed round out of the way, hugging the side of the dome. The only ones not doing this where the those in little black hats, hawaiian shirts, nintendo power gloves and oddly shaped glasses who were ineffectual bashing random combinations into the keypad while spewing the kind of technobabble and cliché remarks you find in 90 hacker movies. Unsurprisingly they were not getting much done, but they were providing a nice synthwave backing track as they did their hacking montage, so the Mind let them continue.
This looks cool, when are you thinking about starting?

I was considering Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown as a character.
Howlite

At this moment a lot of things happened all at once, two Crystal gems made an appearance and made some surprisingly friendly introductions considering the homeworld machines swarming the place. She was rather confused by the fighting comment, but then again there was a poofed gem, the forcible acquisition of Seraphinite and the head hit she had received for her light so she supposed that could make sense. It was very dark down here after all, easy to misinterpret these things. On the other hand it looked like there was in fact going to be fighting, as Tugtupite ordered her, a data management gem, to help protect them alongside the chameleon and the super soldier.

”uh, Tugtupite ”

”Just so you know”
”I wasn’t built for fighting”
”But I guess I can still draw my sword and try”
what they don't know,
was her real reluctance,
when you live for yourself, your not prepared to die.

Still maybe they could all end this peacefully, Tugtupite was very insistent that joining homeworld was voluntary and she was going to negotiate. Sure this didn’t match here vitriol about the crystal gems earlier but maybe things where not so bad as the kindergarten's archives led her to believe.

"Your from homeworld? Are you trying to kill these newborns.... Or saw innocent gems being shattered just to make geoweapons."

Then again maybe not.

Some of the Moldsvite’s speech lined up with what she knew, gems had been noted to be shatter for just that in the archives. But maybe had that changed since, after all she had just been ordered to break with her role by a homeworld agent, and the defective Marnie had not been shattered either. She was lacking so much data and it frustrated her infinitely that she couldn’t make informed decisions. So she remained where she was, carefully watching the two other gems that were off in the dark behind them and hoped to learn more from the discussion between the Cavansite, Moldsvite and Tugtupite.
just to preempt the complaint, Etherean Fire has agreed to what I describe fox doing and has had the post early to read and confirm he is ok with it.
Naija

Lvl: 2
Day: 1
Location: Forest surrounding the Demon lord's Castle -> travailing towards the abandoned castle ahead of the boss
Mentions: Mario@Holy Soldier, Fox McCloud@Etherean Fire
Word Count: 1,285
Seed statuses: Napple Seed(18/18): two napples collected. rest of Napple seeds now wasted

The Phozons raced along ahead of Naija as she soared through the forest towards the Napple Seed, making for an rather beautiful if morbid display as the winged Mithalan giggled and did cartwheels in the air followed the glowing sparks. Naija caught herself laughing at the display and quickly shut this off in distaste, she hated that she did that, that she took joy in killing things. Certainly they were corrupt and dangerous and she was justified on putting them down, but to feel such catharsis from doing so was a demon she had wrestled with for a long time.

The Phozons were absorbed by the plant which, having collected the requisite amount of life force, bore two napples as fruit which she harvested as she flew by, the bind song plucking them as she had reaped so many of the wild plants of aquaria for cooking ingredients in the past. Then she weaved towards the forest towards where Odin and Mario had landed as the two napples where stored in her inventory.

Naija was not acquainted with the concept of fall damage as it was not a thing in her game and had not thought of the consequences of Mario falling back to earth. Thus she expected to have found the gigantic legend battling heroically against the Valkyries. Instead she saw in the distance was mario battered and bloody, the Valkyries swarming around him like carrion birds.

The plumber spotted her and called for her to stay back, but Naija completely ignored this demand, she had healing items, she could get him out of there and have him fixed right up. She redoubled her efforts, her new wings pounding as she zipped through the forest but the black and corrupted hord closed again, tearing at his flesh, the Mario who was relieved as they parted could barely stand, blood seeping from his many wounds. The plumber, sensing the end was near called out one last time for them to leave him to his fate, to go warn the others as he made a final stand.

No! She was almost there, she could still...

The mace falls, and the plumber is no more.

The order is give, the murder of crows leave.

And for what feels like an age Naija just stares. Lost.

Her only thought is a hazy confusion as to why she could smell the sea again.

That is until she hears the rapid pounding of footfalls coming through the woods towards her

She is shaken from her paralyzing shock as panic, shame, horror, guilt, misery and a million other emotions engulf her, swirling and wrestling for dominance of her psyche. It was all her fault, she had allowed him to go against the plan, to take them on the boss alone and just assumed from his confidence and legend status he could handle himself while she bailed out Fox. If only she had gone to him first, this wouldn't have happened. If only she had stood up to him in the first place! Naija despaired, for despite her life in the graveyard of civilisations, despite her violent bloody existence, she had never experienced the loss death brought first hand. For a moment, she considered giving up, what was the point, what was she even doing here, what could they even do against that monster.

But by the time Fox has arrived all here emotions had submitted to the oldest and strongest of them all. One that had seen here through so many dark places full of nightmares and abominations. A ceaseless, all consuming burning anger. Mario might have been kind of an ass, but despite the short amount of time they spent together Naija had actually cared about him. As with all times something she cared about was taken there was only one course of action. She would kill them, she would kill them all.

With here stolen wings she rose from the sorrowful collapse to the floor she had not realized she had taken. She slowly turns to the approaching Fox. Her fists are clenched, her breathing ragged and harsh, her eyes are hard and burning with anger and tears streak her face. Her original curious and carefully cheerful demeanor replaced by a barely contained rage and bloodlust.

”They killed him. That's not going to stop us, we are going to kill them all. but first we need the others

She says flatly, struggling to contain her emotions as she flaps into the woods. The bind song can be heard once more, and though the notes have not changed they reverberate through the forest, imbued with with all her sorrow, and the woods sing in kind. She swears it will be the last break in her resolve before the monster is dead. She returns with another log.

”Hold on to this Fox, we’re going to fly to the abandoned castle”

This one was from a tree that had been split vertically down the center, so that there was a flat surface upon which Fox somehow managed to perch himself. She had expected him to cling to it for dear life, but it looked like he had done something like this before and so instead easily balanced on the object, weapon at the ready. There wasn’t time to ask when he had flown like that before, so she took off after the dark flock.

Najia, with fox in tow, flew in a long wid arch around the flock in order to stay out of range of whatever they might have to throw in retaliation till they were flying some distance ahead and straight towards the castle. Naija was relieved to find that the speed the enemy group where flying at was not anywhere close to how fast she could go with her Valkyrie wings. With this information and Fox’s dexterous balancing act she came up with a plan.

The plan relied on a few facts. First because of how the bind spell worked what she was carrying did not slow here down at all, thus she had the same flight speed as the Valkyries and could thus stay ahead of them indefinitely. Second, unless the valkyries had some hidden tricks up their sleeves they only had throwing weapons/vials as ranged attacks, she thought that if they had the ability to shoot they simply would have decimated the forest with fire upon the first attack. Thirdly, foxes laser pistol had a better range than thrown objects and the shots were very quick, thus they could safely and effectively fire on the valkyries from a distance further than they could retaliate. Finally, if she had missgudged the distance and they could attack her and fox, Naijas was from a place where all the wildlife had ranged attacks, dodging projectiles was her forte.

Thus the plan was to stay just ahead of the enemy and hopefully out of weapon range while Fox lay down a massive unending barrage of laser fire upon them, massacring them as they were unable to retaliate.

This gave the Valkyries 2 options, stick with their boss or give chase. Either way they could not catch the duo and thus would suffer attrition along the entire flight to the abandoned castle. If they stayed they would suffer more, if they chased they would be split off from their boss, letting the heroes deal with the army and him separately. She relayed most of this thinking to fox.

”Blast them fox, make those bastards pay for every mile!”

She soared on, checking over her shoulder for incoming, but mainly focusing on maintaining a constant speed and level flight path, letting fox get the best shots he can before the inevitable attempted response.
@Archmage MC

there's kind of a wide selection reasons for the rebellion that are personal to those who join.

pick one or make your own, there's no real specific binding philosophy on why/how much they're mad at home-world, so long as your consistent with why/how angry she is.

on a side note, I am aiming to post today.
