”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter. 

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height. 

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Cosette de Villiers

21 | She/her | 5’4 | 115 pounds

Augmentation: Once upon a time, she had visual augmentations that changed her appearance, and augmentations that removed all of her memories, and an augmentation to link up to an unknown device. All except the unknown device link have since been removed. This exception is mainly due to any attempt to remove it likely resulting in brain damage for Cosette.

Since remembering all her memories, Cosette has pestered her father, Thierry, in allowing her to get a scanner implant. This scanner acts somewhat like an AR device, scanning things Cosette sees and letting her know little facts about them, like their origin and history. This is so she never picks up a cursed statue ever again, or at least has more knowledge in her defense.

Personality:  After having recovered all her memories, including the ones where she was tortured and experimented on by Von Galloes, and having lost her sister, Cosette is often seen with a thousand-yard stare, and struggles to find happiness and satisfaction in doing most things. She is seeing a therapist, who has diagnosed her with depression. In rare moments with her family, she is seen smiling.

Defining Trait: Hurt

Goal: A way to make the pain stop.

Backstory: Cosette’s journey started in the pyramids of Egypt, where, after much struggle with her family, she was stolen by the Egyptian gods and given to Von Galloes. This is where many years, seven exactly, were spent in isolation and forgetfulness. Cosette forgot who her family was, and who she was, despite her sister Auri always coming to visit her cell. 

Eventually, she was left for dead in a simulation when Nick and Stella came and rescued her from a pack of wolves. With their help, she regained her freedom and started learning more about herself and who she was.

In the final battle between everyone and Von Galloes, Cosy lost her sister, who saved her. After the battle, she was inconsolable, insisting she get her memories back quickly. 

Perhaps it was a mistake. Anything in her memories was only a gateway to more sadness and pain, causing Cosy to lock up and isolate herself. Was this just another way of Von Galloes to torture her and her family?
Now with talk of a CDE site acting erratically, she’s requested her father to go see what’s going on. She has experience, and she wouldn’t be able to bear another tragedy of someone dying or suffering at a CDE site.

Skills: Her father has taught Cosette how to shoot a gun, and she’s a fairly good shot.

Director Von Galloes

45 | He/him | 6’1 | 201 pounds

Augmentation: He has spectacles that read the energy frequency on a person, allowing him to be able to tell the given emotion on a person at any given time. He also has an embedded AR HiveMind Sight chip with a small light green LED glowing on his right temple. This allows him to pull up a database of information on the fly. The rest of his augmentations are, at this moment, unknown.

Personality:  He appears to be cold, cruel, and calculating, causing suffering for his own personal enjoyment and playing games with his toys for sport.

Defining Trait: Predatorial

Goal: Unknown.

Backstory: The best day of Von Galloes’ life was whe he was reunited with his daughter, Stella. It would seem those de Villers were good for something, after all. After he won the world with his daughter, he was going to make those de Villers suffer a thousand times more with the Crown Jewel in his grasp. But alas, it was not meant to be.

Disappearing is good. Like a shark smelling blood, he’s always nearby…

Skills: Unknown.

Description: He is like a cold and calculative guard dog, loyal to Director Von Galloes.

Augmentation/Skills: Has enhancements that other drones don't have, plus a more advanced learning algorithm. One of the abilities it has displayed is the ability to project real-time holograms and create light-based shields.

Organizations

A technological firm, first and foremost, with an interest in ancient technology second. Once they saw the scrawled tablets and artifacts from the shoddy footage of [REDACTED], they knew they needed to send in their own contractors. Not just anyone, though. Only the best of the best would do.

Arming their contractors with the best of their AI technology and make-shift devices for controlling and containing everything related to dark energy, they are prepared to stop at nothing to get what they want: answers. 

Due to their hunger, HiveMind has been sanctioned and shut down.

The Ethereum is a secret society that's been around for millennia. Some have even gone as far as to say they were the original discoverers of dark energy, using it to prolong their lives. Not many meet The Ethereum and live to tell the tale. They are very selective with who they share their secrets with.

It's unsure how secrets of dark energy got into the hands of HiveMind, but it's a definite case that Ethereum is not too pleased with the global handling of this mysterious resource.

The Ethereum Elite hails from Ethera.

The updates look great! NPC CS is for anyone you rp with less, feels more like a side character, rps in other stuff apart from the main story line, or you don't want to have to post every week for. So yes, it works perfectly for them. :)
