In Depth Appearance:
When one thinks of a child of the god of war, the image that comes to mind is not likely that of Alessandra Sykes. For starters, she's rather, well, short, standing at 4'9" without the aide of any sort of platform, be it shoe or podium, and with that small height comes a rather small frame to match. Alessandra is certainly a healthy person, but her slender physique and small musculature has her looking more like someone who would be protesting a conflict rather than engaging in one. She isn't a physically weak or frail person by any means, but intimidation is not a look that suits her in any shape or form.

Her rounded face has a youthful look about it, her mother always said it was due to being a 'late bloomer' but Alessandra believes that her blooming period came and went by this point. Her eyes are rather expressive and wide, with vibrant brown pupils and ever-present makeup so that the eyes of others are instinctively drawn towards her own. Underneath her eyes, both of them, are two silver gems, one under each eye, that she received as a birthday gift. It's like a permanent accessory, her face is bedazzled. Alessandra's hair is as brown as her eyes and constantly blows in the breeze, which is an annoyance with how wild and in-the-way her bangs tend to get. She's been told to cut it shorter but she has yet to heed that advice.

Alessandra is fine with her size and build, but if there's one thing she's self conscious about it is her nose. She is not a fan of how small her nose is, nor does she like it when people press their finger against it and go 'boop' which stopped being cute right about the time she was able to walk.

Clothing Style:
A startling number of Alessandra's clothes tend to be black in color. She's not going through a phase or anything, she just finds that black really brings out the color in her skin, plus it pairs well with a wide variety of clothing. She doesn't exactly put forth a lot of effort in co-ordinating outfits, however. Most days will find Alessandra in a sundress (spaghetti strap being her favorite) and boots. Hardly anything that would mark her as a fashionista, but it's what she enjoys and feels comfortable in.

Because Alessandra is often the shortest and smallest person in any given location (barring her being around children for some reason) she's taken to also being one of the LOUDEST wherever she goes. She doesn't scream every word or anything ridiculous like that but she is always full of energy and practically raring to go at the drop of a pin. Is it any wonder why she likes to go to bed earlier? Older sorts, like adults, tend to label her as a hellion but she's not really a troublemaker.

What she IS is someone that always seems to be looking for a reason to throw down. "You wanna go?" is not a rhetorical question with her. To her credit, however, Alessandra isn't one to bully people into fights and more often than not her requests and threats of fighting are met with laughter because how could someone short be serious. She's a competitive person, but manages to channel that competitive nature in ways that don't revolve around fighting people.

Alessandra is rarely taken seriously until people see that behind her diminutive and cute persona is someone that came from the god of war. Really, Alessandra wants to be taken seriously after being seen and treated like a child just because of her physical attributes and the best way to get people to notice and acknowledge her is by MAKING them notice and acknowledge her. But it just becomes so difficult when she so often acts like a child emulating her older siblings.

Background:
The sad part of Alessandra's life was when she realized she didn't know her father, but it didn't last all that long. The god known as Ares was not exactly a considerate father or lover when he had a single night of passionless action with a police officer who made media attention thanks to her handling of an armed hostage taker situation. Ares was attracted to the woman's bravery (as he saw it, plenty disagreed), while Margaret Sykes was attracted to the Adonis belt before realizing how awkward and awful the night was. It was supposed to be a one and done, two adults being adults.

Nine months later Alessandra was born and by that point the father had all but vanished.

It was hardly easy being raised by a single parent, especially one that worked a career that was potentially dangerous (though the chief did put Alessandra's mother behind a desk for the duration of her pregnancy and the early years of Alessandra's life), but Alessandra didn't complain, understanding the sacrifices that surely had to be made for her sake. She was close with her mother because of that, even during the moments of annoyance such as whenever Alessandra asked about her father.

Of course, when the truth came out, Alessandra assumed it to be a joke, to the point where she appreciated the efforts her mother would go to just to appease her. After all, how could she be the daughter of the god of war when the most 'war' she got involved in was the card game of the same name? But the disbelief and humor morphed into morbid understanding, aided considerably by her acceptance and arrival at Olympus Academy.

It was a bit of a shock at first, because of course it would be, but Alessandra adapted and even began embracing her heritage. She doesn't know her father but she knows OF him. Ares has seen the type of girl Alessandra has become, short, weak, soft, and wants nothing more to do with her. She's probably better off, having been raised by a more moral person means Alessandra's conflict and innate affinity towards it can be geared more towards causes of justice rather than war for the sake of it.

Her lack of height she blame entirely on her father and wants to punch him for it.

Ares, the god of war, son of Zeus and Hera, brother of Athena, lover of many, father of many more.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
Ares has no daughter. Well that's not true, he's had kind of a lot, but specifically he has no daughter named Alessandra. Were she born in Sparta and also a male, she would have been chucked aside, or so Ares believes. It's clear that Alessandra is not exactly the image of war and conflict and this has contributed to Ares all but abandoning her to her own fate. She doesn't mind, but she'd one day really like to punch him in the face just to show that she didn't fall that far from the tree.



Godly Abilities:
Conflict
-Alessandra has a knack for both finding and pulling others into conflict, be it actual physical fighting or just verbal arguments. She secretly enjoys getting into fights even if she swears otherwise. She cannot command others to fight, but staying around her for a long enough time just might draw out the base desire for fighting.

Swordsmanship
-A not so fancy way of saying that Alessandra knows how to wield a blade. She prefers fencing, obviously, but knows techniques. When weapons aren't involved she can use makeshift things, like say a thick enough stick, like a sword. A stick does not turn into or take on the characteristics of a sword, but she wields it the same.

Righteous Indignation
-Though Alessandra does secretly enjoy getting into conflicts, she not-so-secretly finds more fulfillment in fighting in reaction to negative actions such as abuse, mistreatment, insults, and the like. While she doesn't fly off the handle over every little bit of injustice, she will often step into conflicts that aren't hers both to fuel her desire and to be seen as something of a guardian.

Nerves of Steel
-Alessandra has no fear (listed fears above aside, but those are secret duh) and with a lack of fear comes courage by way of rushing into things. Multiple opponents? No problem. Scary movies? You're fucking WEAK if you get scared. Final exams? She doesn't even STUDY.

Sex Appeal
-Not actually an ability but Ares had a lot of consorts and Alessandra wishes she knew his secret because everyone just sees her as this little hellion and not as a prospect for sick make outs.

So I know I said everyone would get a hat, but much like my parents when I brought home my future wife for dinner, I must disappoint you all. Turns out that newspaper hats with freakishly large newspapers like the ones our city has makes newspaper hats a pain in the ass to make and by the time I managed to make one that wasn't a shitshow...I was out of newspaper.

Fortunately...it's big enough for everyone to party under so it can be like...the community hat?

There's a good chance that many people will be looking up at A.J. in both the literal and figurative sense. Such things tend to happen when one is gifted with height. A.J. is a tall woman, standing at a good six foot two, and she wears her height rather well by not being a gangly sort of tall. While not in possession of an overly shapely figure, when she isn't dressing down A.J.'s more physical attributes come into the light, starting with the length of her legs which, depending on who you ask, rank high on her list of physical features. There's little cellulite to be found on her body thanks to what she claims is a good metabolism. Though her legs and the toned nature contained within are certainly points of interest, it is her sharp jawline and cheeks that A.J. is most proud of. Her visage is strong, elegant and angular, that it's such a shame that it's rarely shown to be smiling genuinely.

A.J.'s hair is always medium length and bounces between a sandy color and a more obvious blonde. She doesn't often experiment with new styles, preferring the standard middle part and healthy amount of brushing to maintain its straight nature. Her eyes, less bright and more pronounced, are a muddy brown but that doesn't stop them from being able to carry her glances of interests and incredulity. There aren't any blemishes on her skin, not even so much as a lingering scratch or wound or even tan lines. It's evident that A.J. enjoys making herself look presentable, and often that translates to a healthy amount of eyeshadow/eyeliner and lipstick, but it's never to the point of being caked on. That would just be disastrous.

There's a word for people like to use about A.J. and it's not one used in polite company, though the truth of the matter is a bit different than what it seems. It's quite easy to see just what traits she took from dear sweet mother despite A.J.'s protests on the matter. Popularity is something that A.J. flocks to, believing herself to be someone worth knowing due to her having a finger on the pulse. She wants people to know her name even if she can't be assed to remember any herself. Always with some new bit of candy around her arm or in her eyes, A.J. seems to be the type to be seen as a bitch due to her interests in physical beauty in herself and others, but while it's true she surrounds herself with yes-men and women and enjoys being the center of any given attentions, A.J. is hardly a bitch or even catty. She treats those that make an effort just the same as she treats her inner circle and is always willing to lend an ear to the girls that need a little bit of guidance.

It's just that her more...negative aspects overshadow her kinder ones. A.J.'s love of physical attractiveness has made her rather vain. Her fear of romantic involvements and entanglements has made her into something of a tease though it's something of a status symbol to be her bit of arm candy even if all that comes of it is a single night. Though she does have a heart, especially for the girls in the academy, A.J. buys a little too much into her own hype which serves to make her equal parts ice queen and motherly. With a bit more emphasis on the ice queen on most days.

Background:

Though a marriage was not involved, A.J.'s mother had a particularly wild night after another in a long series of one-ups she was having with someone who won't be mentioned and this one ended with a pregnancy; an unwanted side effect but then, who hadn't been there before. A.J. was raised by her mother just long enough for her mother to instill some very important wisdom about life and people in general. A.J. didn't quite understand at the time, what young person does when the topic consists of such concepts as 'infidelity' and 'people will disappoint you'?

But A.J.'s father, despite not wanting to be one, had little choice but to take her in after her mother suddenly parted to continue to game and her spiteful existence. A.J.'s father, Anthony, is a wealthy sort that managed to turn his less than stellar looks into million dollar paychecks thanks to his ability to believably act. Growing up, A.J. was spoiled, raised more by the house help than the parent that stayed behind. There were visits from her mother, but they grew less and less frequent the older A.J. got.

It was actually her mother that insisted A.J. attend Olympus Academy if only so she could be among people A.J. could relate to. A.J. didn't understand at the time how...higher up her mother truly was and she entered the Academy with the hopes that there weren't any expectations to live up to anyone. A.J. really just wanted to continue being doted on like she was at home, though that was a bit more difficult among peers. Difficult, but certainly not impossible.

A.J. started exhibiting habits from her mother, namely in how she dealt with people that she felt betrayed her, the liars and cheaters of the world. Jealousy and spite reared their heads far too often and with it came a desire to be wanted...to be desired. Comparisons between herself and more unsavory aspects of her mother were quick to raise her anger, and considering the sorts that attend Olympus Academy, thsoe comparisons were made rather often.

She's more like her mother than she cares to admit.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
A.J. wouldn't say they have a great relationship, but they have an...understanding. She no longer thinks Hera left her behind now that she knows more about the pantheon and her heritage and all that, but it's doubtful A.J. will say she loves her mother. But she wouldn't say she loves her father either and he was actually there for more of her life. Hera cares for A.J. no more or no less than any other child she has borne but there is care to be found.

Godly Abilities: Due to Hera's status as the 'Queen' of the gods, A.J. considers herself as something of a 'Queen' of the demigods and with this status comes the ability to influence her 'worshipers' to do her bidding, which mostly consists of telling her hangers-on to do things like take her tests, do her homework, and cater to her.

On the more positive side, A.J. can also grant favor to couples and her blessing to young couples comes with assurance that their love is for real and will last. A.J. doesn't play matchmaker, but she can see who is faithful and who isn't and if two people have genuine feelings towards one another.

A.J. can't turn into a bird, but she can understand and communicate with them if the need should ever arise. Birds see many things from above and are shockingly good for intel.

Really, Alessandra wants to be taken seriously after being seen and treated like a child just because of her physical attributes and the best way to get people to notice and acknowledge her is by MAKING them notice and acknowledge her. But it just becomes so difficult when she so often acts like a child emulating her older siblings.

Background:
The sad part of Alessandra's life was when she realized she didn't know her father, but it didn't last all that long. The god known as Ares was not exactly a considerate father or lover when he had a single night of passionless action with a police officer who made media attention thanks to her handling of an armed hostage taker situation. Ares was attracted to the woman's bravery (as he saw it, plenty disagreed), while Margaret Sykes was attracted to the Adonis belt before realizing how awkward and awful the night was. It was supposed to be a one and done, two adults being adults.

Nine months later Alessandra was born and by that point the father had all but vanished.

It was hardly easy being raised by a single parent, especially one that worked a career that was potentially dangerous (though the chief did put Alessandra's mother behind a desk for the duration of her pregnancy and the early years of Alessandra's life), but Alessandra didn't complain, understanding the sacrifices that surely had to be made for her sake. She was close with her mother because of that, even during the moments of annoyance such as whenever Alessandra asked about her father.

Of course, when the truth came out, Alessandra assumed it to be a joke, to the point where she appreciated the efforts her mother would go to just to appease her. After all, how could she be the daughter of the god of war when the most 'war' she got involved in was the card game of the same name? But the disbelief and humor morphed into morbid understanding, aided considerably by her acceptance and arrival at Olympus Academy.

It was a bit of a shock at first, because of course it would be, but Alessandra adapted and even began embracing her heritage. She doesn't know her father but she knows OF him. Ares has seen the type of girl Alessandra has become, short, weak, soft, and wants nothing more to do with her. She's probably better off, having been raised by a more moral person means Alessandra's conflict and innate affinity towards it can be geared more towards causes of justice rather than war for the sake of it.

Her lack of height she blame entirely on her father and wants to punch him for it.

Godly Parent:
Ares, the god of war, son of Zeus and Hera, brother of Athena, lover of many, father of many more.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
Ares has no daughter. Well that's not true, he's had kind of a lot, but specifically he has no daughter named Alessandra. Were she born in Sparta and also a male, she would have been chucked aside, or so Ares believes. It's clear that Alessandra is not exactly the image of war and conflict and this has contributed to Ares all but abandoning her to her own fate. She doesn't mind, but she'd one day really like to punch him in the face just to show that she didn't fall that far from the tree.



Godly Abilities:
Conflict
-Alessandra has a knack for both finding and pulling others into conflict, be it actual physical fighting or just verbal arguments. She secretly enjoys getting into fights even if she swears otherwise. She cannot command others to fight, but staying around her for a long enough time just might draw out the base desire for fighting.

Swordsmanship
-A not so fancy way of saying that Alessandra knows how to wield a blade. She prefers fencing, obviously, but knows techniques. When weapons aren't involved she can use makeshift things, like say a thick enough stick, like a sword. A stick does not turn into or take on the characteristics of a sword, but she wields it the same.

Righteous Indignation
-Though Alessandra does secretly enjoy getting into conflicts, she not-so-secretly finds more fulfillment in fighting in reaction to negative actions such as abuse, mistreatment, insults, and the like. While she doesn't fly off the handle over every little bit of injustice, she will often step into conflicts that aren't hers both to fuel her desire and to be seen as something of a guardian.

Nerves of Steel
-Alessandra has no fear (listed fears above aside, but those are secret duh) and with a lack of fear comes courage by way of rushing into things. Multiple opponents? No problem. Scary movies? You're fucking WEAK if you get scared. Final exams? She doesn't even STUDY.

Sex Appeal
-Not actually an ability but Ares had a lot of consorts and Alessandra wishes she knew his secret because everyone just sees her as this little hellion and not as a prospect for sick make outs.
