One the surface, meaning 'when at the office' Roxanne presents herself as a casual business owner in attire, often wearing turtlenecks and skirts or simple casual blouses, something that exudes 'professional, but still down to earth'. Who has time for those stuffy suits and ties that the stiffs at the offices and corporations squeeze into? Of course, while she favors the blouses and skirts and turtlenecks when working, what she favors about them is how they look to her employees. Roxanne doesn't wear her attire for the sake of the customers, but rather for the sake of her employees - her turtleneck might be just tight enough in certain areas to make a bit of a...pop; her blouse might not be fully buttoned up near the top, and her skirts? Well, what excuse does one need to show off a brand new pair of stockings? With Roxanne, clothing is all part of the tease, the allure, the mystique - and in her case it's to show that age hasn't reared its ugly head as far as her appearance is concerned.
Because even with her older age, she carries herself like a woman twenty years younger. Sure the natural signs of aging are there, the little wrinkles when she smiles, the little bits of extra cellulite on her arms, the graying hair that she has to constantly touch up and add color to, the maturing features of her physical attributes - but in her eyes she's a fine wine and if she has her way, everyone will see her as such.
Roxanne has medium length hair, it was once a dark, deep brown that has only lightened thanks to early stress and aging; she doesn't want to have her hair fully grey until she's entered a happy retirement or an unhappy marriage with someone desperate and loaded. Appearance matters in Roxanne's world, and considering the people that she's spent so many years with she's willing to bet it matters to damn near everyone. While she doesn't slather on the makeup, she is fond of wearing rather dark, ruby red lipstick and making it stand out against her somewhat lighter complexion. A would be femme fatale masquerading as a simple business owner.
Her body is unmarred by tattoos - though she certainly doesn't mind a bit of ink on another - and she keeps a trimmed body by doing daily jogs. It's no wonder she frequently wears skirts or mini-dresses, because she's proud of showing off the fruits of her cardio and how they did wonders on her legs. With amber eyes and a wicked grin, Roxanne is a woman who believes she has to compete with the younger sorts in town, and if it means being a classier sort of sensual then that's what she'll be.

Roxanne certainly does lean into her own wicked sort of appeal, first and foremost Roxanne is a motivated, confident woman. She has to be to own a business for as long as she has. A part of the reason she wears such...flirtatious clothing is to catch the eyes so that the minds and mouths are much more agreeable to her requests and demands.

In the cut throat world of ours, where real estate is a commodity and a seemingly simple morning service station doesn't fit into the plans of moguls and heirs, Roxanne has had to use her wit, her intelligence, and her silver tongue to survive.
The business she owns comes under fire and is constantly called into question - namely the way in which 'eye candy' is on the menu; certain sorts have gotten the wrong idea about what goes on at the Stop. While it's true that Roxanne does enjoy having beautiful people working for her, she treats her employees as if they were her family. A sort of weird family that flirts and encourages relationships but a family nonetheless.
Though Roxanne has a mind for manipulation and keen business sense, what she doesn't have is, well, happiness. She knows full well that her trysts and flings are just momentary dips into enjoyment, just simple fun between a consenting adult and someone who has probably just become old enough to drink legally. She doesn't have anything waiting for her at home, which is why she poured so much and cares so deeply for her establishment. It fills a void that she's slowly realizing will never be filled by anything else.
Her sharp tongue and backroom dealings have people unsure if they can truly trust her. The gift of the silver tongue is the gift of a liar, after all. Her employees certainly seem to trust her enough to work for her even as her reputation as nothing more than a lonely old cougar precedes her. Roxanne is an east coast woman at heart, having been born in Manhattan and spending the first thirteen or so years of her life as a New York girl. She wasn't born into wealth nor was she born into poverty - mother was a lawyer and father was a beat cop who died in the line of duty by accidentally causing a traffic collision. No medals or salute service for Mister Valenti. It was because of her father's untimely death that Roxanne was sent to the other side of the country - dear sweet mother didn't want to raise a child by herself and instead opted to let Uncle Nick handle things. Unbeknownst to both Roxanne and Roxanne's mother, Uncle Nick had become Aunt Nicki and though initially reluctant, Nicki was willing to let Roxanne stay.
Nicki was working on a rather long con when Roxanne entered the picture. Nicki wasn't a resident of Lakewood Summit but desperately wanted to be - that place meant something. Nicki was sweetening up to some of the more eligible bachelors and married men alike, fishing for her ticket to the good life. Roxanne, meanwhile, occupied her time by caring for herself. Aunt Nicki wasn't exactly one for parental instincts so it became Roxanne's job to cook, to clean, to do the shopping, to raise herself. Roxanne isn't bitter about it, in fact she's glad that she had such an independent upbringing - it's served her well to this day. Aunt Nicki never found her way inside of Lakewood Summit - not permanently, anyway as she did find herself in the bed of a resident who demanded she keep it very hush-hush from the wife - and sadly passed away from an STD when Roxanne was supporting herself through college.
A business degree after four years had Roxanne in a bit of debt. She met a rather charming man who offered her a decent amount of cash (not enough to satisfy the student debts but enough to at least have a roof over her head for a good year or so) for appearing in a 'home made experience' with him and his wife. It wasn't Roxanne's proudest moment, but the universal language of money is the loudest of all. As far as she knows the tape never saw mass circulation, though she does own a copy herself. That same man routinely came knocking on Roxanne's door and yet another affair played out. But Roxanne wasn't happy with simply being someone's dirty little secret. The manipulation had to start somewhere, why not by knocking on the man's front door, greeting his wife again, and starting her own sort of long con.
Roxanne used the both of them, eventually causing a sizable rift in the marriage. The idiot of a husband made a few changes in his will - egged on by the sultry tones of this attractive young woman with a brain - and when his wife found out that his savings would be left to his mistress...jealousy and anger reared its ugly head. To this day people still ask how Roxanne managed to both own a five million dollar house and a business by age twenty seven. Her response of "Killer deals," is more than just a bit of sass. While Roxanne didn't life a finger she was no less guilty - but her manipulations continued as she convinced the spurned housewife (who was no less guilty as she was involved in the affair) to get rid of the bastard of a husband. "We'll start fresh, my love" was all it took.
After the husband was reported missing and his body found a month later, the now widowed wife began to panic. She had poisoned her husband and tossed him into a lake. The panic took over and she took her own life. Roxanne penned a suicide note, wherein she had the deceased wife confess to the murder. While not everyone remained convinced, the man's bank account went to his mistress, one Roxanne Valenti. She opted not to live in the house where the murder took place, taking residence further in Lakewood Summit and using the remaining savings to open her own business.
The Whistle Stop is damn near a staple of the community. If only people knew how it came to exist. Some might've had their theories, but Roxanne sure is keeping that close to the chest. The fact is, Roxanne and The Whistle Stop have been a part of Lakewood Summit for nearly twenty years now. She'd like to keep it going for another twenty.

It's gotten flack over the years as people assume it to be some sort of brothel masquerading as a cafe just because the young men and women that work there flaunt their...assets. Roxanne is not some sort of Madame, she's just a simple business owner who isn't above sampling the goods and who specifically hires attractive young people for both her own enjoyment and to keep the business booming. Come for the coffee, stay for the illusion that one of her baristas might sleep with you if you tip generously.

Roxanne is an avid runner, she runs to stay fit and healthy and just to unwind. She participates in marathons and fun runs - using the latter as a means of fundraising for The Whistle Stop.
Politics is something Roxanne enjoys reading about and discussing it with like minded individuals. She's always trying to politic her way into becoming the head of the Homeowner's Association.
Swimming. Roxanne enjoys going for a swim in the lake or at the country club pool. She has a tendency to go for a skinny dip at the lake since the club is so stingy with their rules. If she does go to the country club it's only ever to swim and have a sauna or, in rare cases, a stop in the gym.
