Both accepted! Feel free to move them over to the characters tab.

@JrVader

Okay, a few notes here before acceptance. For starters, the picture is broken, which I think you noticed - this is because Pintrest is a garbage website that doesn't want to be used. A quick search suggests that this might be an alternate url for the same image that wouldn't have that problem, so, there you go. Second, also a minor note, I need to know what the mark actually looks like. Third, like I said in the OOC, I'm not a massive stickler about grammar but there is a standard, so I'm going to have to ask you to fix some of the cases of missing punctuation and extra adverbs stuff - if you want to PM me about that, I am 100% available and happy to help and discuss it with you. Fourth, minor note and this isn't your fault at all, just a side effect of me posting the character sheet before some information came out in the OOC, calling it 'Heaven' is a little on the nose for the tone of this RP - if you wanted it to be, like, 'Aetheria' or some other fantasy word that was basically the celestial kingdom of a certain divinity with angels and all of that, that would be 100% cool. Last but not least, I'd like to see a slight expansion in terms of his personality - I think he's emerging pretty well as an awkward, sort of sheltered kind of character, but I think we could do more with questions like what he values, what he believes in, how he relates to his heritage - he seems proud, does that ever become arrogance? He's a romantic, but how does that play into his sheltered life? What does he think of the realities of the world? And so on.

I do like the character - I think he's very sweet. If you want to discuss any of this, feel free to PM me.

@Saltwater Thief

Yes, apologies if that wasn't clear, PCs will be matched with each other - if worst comes to worst and we just have an odd number no matter what, I'll make an extra character so that everyone gets a partner.

Speaking of, I need to get to work on my first character.
@ShwiggityShwah

Goodness, that hair is a fire hazard. But, I don't see why not.

@JrVader
Right, I saw your PM! I'll get you notes on that tomorrow, hopefully.

A wild OOC appears!

Charizard used flamethrower!

Oh god, the OOC is on fire! It's burning! It's burned to death! You've killed it! Why would you do this?

... I need to get out more.
The Festival of Destiny

Come one, come all!

Friendly faces from across the lands are invited to Andour City, for the famous Festival of Destiny, held every five years. All present in the city may partake in a week of merriment and festivity. Rare and exotic delicacies! Delights, performances, games and amusements! Religious observations, ceremonies, free weddings at any temple! A grand contest of arms! And of course, the great Parade of Destiny, in which the city honors those Marked and blessed by the Gods, where all Marked are invited to march across the city, hand in hand with their fated partner.

All are welcome! All are invited! By the grace and generosity of the Royal Family, King Dreyen Allervai and Queen Landra Allervai, we celebrate the bounty of the Gods and the joys of fate.

Come one, come all!

Welcome to the Festival of Destiny! This is a High Casual Fantasy and Romance RP about celebration, fate, and finding that special someone. Set in a D&D / Pathfinder inspired fantasy world, players will play as Marked, people from all over the world born with a special mark on their bodies that signifies that they have a soulmate somewhere in the world that they are fated to fall in love with. Everyone’s mark has a different design, but when a fated pair falls in love, their marks change and transform into a new one, one they share that usually takes elements of both.

The RP will take place over the course of the week-long Festival of Destiny, a celebration held every five years by the cosmopolitan (though primarily human) Kingdom of Andour, during which Marked come from all across the land, hoping to meet their beloved (or for any number of reasons – a celebration needs entertainment, supplies, professionals, many dignitaries from the Kingdom and its allies are expected to make an appearance, and so forth). Festivities will vary from day to day, but in general you can expect the RP to have an ultimately light-hearted, rom-com, adventurous tone, as players roam about, get into hijinks, partake in the various adventures and amusements the festival has to offer, and hopefully find true love by the end of it!

Any and all (humanoid) characters are accepted: you can be a princess, a wizard, a dragonslaying knight, a pickpocket, a crime boss, an innkeep, a blacksmith, a soldier. Whatever you want. This is a lighthearted RP, but that doesn’t mean that serious topics or characters are taboo; feel free to have as dark and tragic a backstory as you want for your character, it’ll make it even more fun when we throw them into the festival. When the RP begins, I will secretly match all of the characters together, and over the course of the RP, fate may twist and turn to bring certain characters together… or drive them apart. Either way, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Rules

1. Don’t be a jerk.
2. Post quality is High Casual. I’m not a massive stickler about grammar, but I do have a bare minimum of expectations. Two paragraphs or more a post is fine.
3. Posts should come at least once every five days – if you’re going to be unable to post longer than that, just let me know beforehand. I promise, I don’t bite.
4. This is an RP about character interaction, so characters should ideally be complex and have a good deal of depth to them.
5. Worldbuilding is encouraged! Make up a kingdom across the sea, make up an order of knights or a mercenary company, make up whatever you want. Work with other players if you want! Be creative! Have fun with it!
6. Multiple characters are allowed, though for now I’m going to limit it to two a person. I also reserve the right to close admissions down the road to characters of certain genders / orientations, in the name of everyone getting a partner, should an imbalance develop.
7. All standard guild rules apply. If things get heated, fade to black or take it to PMs, please.
8. Have fun with it! We’re here to tell a fun story about true love, adventure, and magic.
9. Post CS applications in the OOC or PM them to me, then move them to the characters tab when approved. Whichever way you want is fine. Hell, you can even mail them to me via passenger pigeon, though I’d probably ask how you got my address.
10. Be excellent to each other.
11. Party on, dudes!

Character Sheet

I think that’s about all. I look forward to playing with you all!
As promised, the CS skeleton, so that those who want to can get cracking. If you finish before I complete the OOC tomorrow, then you can post it here, or PM it to me, or just wait till the OOC is done. I'll see it whichever way.

Awesome to see the interest! I'll see about getting a CS together tonight so people can start working, with the OOC hopefully following tomorrow!
Hey guys, I'm here to gauge interest in (and possibly recruit a Co-GM for) a large-group fantasy RP about magic, romance, and general light-hearted goofiness. The essential premise is that it would take place in a Standard Fantasy World (probably using Dungeons and Dragons as inspiration), with the key conceit being that certain people in said world are born with a mark, basically a personal magic tattoo, that identifies them as Marked - signifying, essentially, that they have a soulmate somewhere else out in the world that they're destined to fall in love with. Not everyone meets theirs within their lifetime, sometimes people lead long and happy lives with people who aren't their fated match, and so on and so on. Y'all know the drill.

The RP would take place over the course of the week-long Festival of Destiny, a yearly celebration in the great cosmopolitan Kingdom of Andour in which Marked gather from all over the world in hopes of meeting their fated partner. Players would all play as marked, and could be just about anyone - grizzled mercenary? Check. Wizard's apprentice? Check. Elven gardener? Innkeeper? Prince of Dwarves? Travelling bard? Captain of the Guard? Check, check, check. If they're a (humanoid) character in a D&D style universe, they're welcome. Before the RP starts, players will be secretly matched by me (and hopefully my Co-GM), the RP will begin, and we'll see who ends up with who by the end.

So, if you're interested in a light hearted fantasy rom-com RP full of odd couples, adventure and hijinks, then, well... leave your interest here!

Alannah Ó Ceallaigh

Location: X-Factor Team Common Area -> X-Factor Briefing Area

Alannah was still formulating her reply to the other two women when the announcement came through. She flinched at the unexpected noise in spite of herself - it was ridiculous, but hearing the words of people who were nowhere near her was still something that unnerved her. Had there been any other news, she might have wrinkled her face in frustration at the weakness of her reaction, but instead a wide grin broke across her features.

"Finally!" Without waiting for Evelyn or Demetria, Alannah tossed the book aside and took off running, out of the Common Area and down the hallway, half-skipping with excitement. An assignment! An actual, giant-blessed battle to fight. A chance for Alannah to be good at something, to be something other than the slowest, least-informed person in the room. As she ran, she sang in her native tongue:

"Step we mighty,
Fletch your bow,
We march to war,
To hot and bloody war!
"

She half-slid into the briefing room, still grinning like a little girl. "Who are we killing?!" she shouted without waiting to see who was inside.

Alannah Ó Ceallaigh

Location: X-Factor Team Common Area

"Pride and Prejudice," Alannah said, pronouncing the name of the book carefully. "It is one I just began. Are you familiar with it?" She was always impressed by the things Evelyn knew about. In her old life, to meet someone like Evelyn would have been incredible - a worldly and intelligent warrior woman, embodying all the things Alannah had grown up wanting to be. This future was strange, but there were good things about it.

When Demetria entered, Alannah placed the book aside on the floor and rose up to her full height, towering several inches over the two other women. That was one thing that hadn't changed: she was still very, very tall. "We're all waiting around for something to happen," she said. "One of ours is dead. How is it that we are not looking now for...?" She paused, struggling to find the word. "To kill the ones who made it." She grimaced at the sentence. That hadn't felt right. This language was a nightmare.
