You ever realize that you haven't changed your status in months, go back to change it, and then wonder what the *fuck* your previous status was even talking about?

No, no, they clearly are referring to Ohio -- which Georgia is geographically south of, so the theory is still sound.

Bio

Oh, hi. Thanks for checking in.

I'm an exceedingly enthusiastic roleplayer who's been writing for about ten years now and yet still hasn't managed to produce any kind of solo piece of writing worth reading. I like to consider myself a good writer, but that's kind of a matter of opinion, as many would argue that my tendency to ramble on at entirely excessive length about things is boring rather than interesting. I'm also incredibly OCD about formatting, so if you're wondering why my bios look so fancy, that's why. It's just something I do because... reasons, I guess.

Anyway, as you've probably noticed from my avatars and RP choices, I'm more than a bit of a fan of anime and manga, but also enjoy movies, video games, the occasional comic book... the list goes on. For you see, I am not a mere dork - I am the one spoken of in legends, the one whose dorkiness transcends all forms and boundaries. I am... the Legendary... OMNI-DORK!

...Anyway, thanks for dropping in to check on my profile! Hope to RP with you sometime!

Nyanpasu~.

It had been almost ten minutes since Yoshida left. A normal person probably would have assumed that he wasn't coming back. And yet, Fumika was still sitting out on the back veranda of the cafeteria. She could have just as easily left. After all, she'd long since finished eating, and, in fact, she probably should have departed. After all, cooking class was next on her schedule, and it would be starting any minute...

But she didn't think about any of those things. After all, Yoshida had said to "excuse him for a moment." "For a moment" implied that his departure would only be temporary, right? That meant he had basically asked her to stay there. He had said he was willing to be her friend. It would be mean to leave one's friend behind. If she left, she'd be being mean. But she wasn't supposed to miss class, either, especially on the first day... She was supposed to do her best, otherwise she might not succeed at becoming a hero. If she didn't become a hero, Haruka would be disappointed in her. In that case, what was she supposed to do? Her blue eyes darted between the entrance and the table in front of her as she weighed her options. No matter what, she didn't want to disappoint either Yoshida or Haruka... But she'd have to choose between her goal and her new friend, anyway? There clearly wasn't any right answer to be found.

This was why, above all else, Fumika hated having to choose for herself.

Lancer

Dɪᴀʟᴏɢᴜᴇ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✦ #0EB94D || Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #FFFA90

Her deception had failed. As she fell through the clouds, her Rune-enhanced vision caught sight of Archer stopping his flight approximately a mile away. He knocked two arrows to his bow, but as he fired, he twisted his aim, sending one of the two projectiles streaking upward and behind him. So, his perceptions really were infallible. Not only had he seen her discard her spear, he'd managed to follow its movements perfectly without even needing to divert his attention from her. But it was no matter, right? Her spell had already taken effect. Under its guidance, her lance would seek him out, no matter where he ran or how it tried to divert it. Unless... No, wait! As the two projectiles were about to collide, Lancer saw what was about to unfold. His arrow... It was going to strike the runes she'd engraved upon the spear's haft. If those were disrupted, then the entire spell would fail. Damnit... So he'd even seen through her tricks that far? Or perhaps his instincts were simply that good. Regardless, she had no choice. As his second arrow nearly reached her, she called back her spear once more, and it crackled and vanished in a streak of lightning just before the arrow could connect.

Originally, she'd intended to use the array on her right hand - Ansuz encircled by four Sowilo runes - to release a destructive burst of fire and hopefully intercept her enemy's coup de grace. However, he'd done something unexpected. Instead of a powerful shot that was sure to connect, he'd simply fired another simple projectile, evidently falling completely for her deception of being nearly crippled and unable to defend herself. True, his last shot had pinned some of the tendons of her left arm. She couldn't raise it in order to wield her spear. But even so, so long as she had at least one hand to hold her spear, she could still fight. With her first attack having failed, there was no reason to waste a valuable advantage on simply defending herself.

Her spear flashed back into view, appearing within her open hand as she twisted in mid-air, battering his final arrow from the sky. Once again, she'd been underestimated. Rolling sideways, she abruptly stopped her fall, bracing herself against the unseen air and leveling her spear like a knight about to charge. As her enemy crowed out his victory, Lancer's beautiful face contorted into a mask of rage. "Feel no shame," he said. How could she even begin to do such a thing? She'd sworn upon her life that things would be different, that this time, she'd protect her master and achieve lasting victory, no matter what. And yet... And yet...

She couldn't overtake him, even with her great speed. She couldn't strike him down, even with her vast power. She couldn't outwit him, even with her vast knowledge. She couldn't even sway the odds in her favor, regardless of her sacred right. It was disgraceful. Shameful. Unseemly. Disgusting. Her master was watching her, and she was bringing this shame upon his and her cause by being so soundly bested? Utterly unforgivable! She would never saddle her beloved lord with the ignominy of defeat... She wouldn't allow this infuriatingly smug bastard to make a mockery of one such as her...! Even if it all seemed hopeless... there was still one tool she had left at her disposal. There was no longer any reason to be hesitant. If she allowed this prey to escape her grasp any longer, he'd surely be the end of her, if not today then tomorrow, or the day after. This chance to claim his life would never come again. For the sake of her master, and for her pride...!

"You'll pay... You'll pay for this!" She hissed, her fist clenched tightly around her spear as it trembled in barely contained rage. Sparks seemed to fly from the head of her spear, jumping higher up and into the clouds and spreading across the sky. Tempestuous winds flurried around her, as if her fury had become incarnate in a sudden gale. "Did you think I would simply flee like a dog with my tail between my legs?! I swore to my beloved that I would show him the farthest limits of my power, that I would protect him no matter the cost... I won't be bested by merely the first of his enemies...! For the one who commands my everything, nothing short of victory is acceptable!" Her roars of anger slowly changed their tone as a wild smirk broke forth on her face. Upon the haft of her spear and the back of her gauntlet, nine runes sprang back to life, flashes of fire erupting from her hand and encircling her spear, which seemed to shiver in anticipation as if alive. Miles away, upon a distant rooftop, Edward might already be feeling it. Lancer's prana intake had skyrocketed from almost the moment the fight began, but the amount of energy needed for her upkeep now dwarfed even that. There could be no questioning in his mind what she was about to do.

"You want to exchange gifts, Archer?" She drew back her head and gave a raucous laugh, her golden hair whipping wildly around her and her eyes flashing with malice. "Very well! In that case, I'll give you oblivion!" The moment she spoke those words, almost too fast to be seen, she dropped into a crouch and hurled herself forward one last time. The distance between them was almost a mile, but as she'd done initially, she accelerated from a motionless stance to her top speed almost instantaneously. To any eyes less keen than Archer's, it would almost have been as if she simply disappeared. This was her only advantage over him - her acceleration.

And yet, even though he couldn't reach his top speed as quickly, she knew. He'd made enough of a distance between them. He had time to dodge. At least, he would have... if this was an ordinary attack. But this blow wasn't just one dealt with the very utmost of her strength, but rather, served to conceal the fact that her earlier runic spell of vengeance was still active. While it lacked the authority to boost the power of this attack by any significant margin, that wasn't her intention. Rather... Even if he dodged, this attack would still seek him out! And unlike before, regardless of the distance between them, this blow was still one she'd deliver herself. His instinctive defense against her cast javelin would do him no good here!

"VALKYRJA DÓMR: EXPUNGING LIGHTNING!"

As she thrust her spear, something changed. The swirling vortex of power around it had previously been drawing inward, as if harnessing the very lightning to incorporate its destructive power into itself. Yet, the moment she thrust, the weapon in her hand could no longer be called a "spear." Rather, it was as if the thing she wielded was "lightning itself." This unmistakable power could only come from the authority of one being. And, even if the weapon she wielded was not the same as the famous Gungnir from which it was derived, its power was still the same: the divine lightning of the heavens! At the same moment, the runes inscribed upon her hand sparked fully into view, releasing a burning wave of flames that surrounded the lightning in her hand, bursting forth in a radiant double-helix that tore across the sky in an instant, thunder booming in its wake as this heaven-spanning spear of lightning sought its prey above all else. The distance between them no longer mattered, and even assuming he was able to move faster than the lightning and get out of the way, it would follow him relentlessly! From this, the peerless blow of a servant of Odin, she would permit no escape!

Valkyrja Dómr: B-Rank, Anti Unit
Lancer thrusts her spear, an inferior derivative of Gungnir bestowed unto the Valkyries, which becomes lightning to strike her opponent, even at great distance. Although seemingly a very simple attack, its power can be boosted through the usage of Runes. Its effects may vary slightly depending on what runes are used to modify it. However, only highly advanced runic chains can actually increase its power by any noticeable margin, although additional effects such as tracking or the like can be added. Despite its formidable power, it still seems incomplete somehow?

Mira Grace

Mira tumbled to the floor as her servant fell, barely having enough time to give a shocked cry before she was dropped from Saber's arms and landed roughly on the floor of the entrance hall. She sat back up, rubbing her head, only for her confusion to be greeted by the sight of her Servant lying collapsed and bleeding on the floor. Frantically, she scrambled over to Saber's side and, after a moment of struggling with feeble hands, managed to turn her over. This was bad... Her wounds had nearly opened fully to the surface from her frantic sprint back to the mansion. She had to do something quickly, but Saber's body was so different from that of her other familiars, it was difficult to know where she should even begin working. Her earlier panicked attempts at first aid hadn't helped much, but even now that she had the time to do things more carefully... It seemed as if her container as a Servant gave a defined form to her existence, though... So maybe, if she just input prana into that formula... Sure enough, Saber's wounds began to close where they'd torn open externally, but the internal damage wasn't going to be so easy to fix. She'd gotten back to safety... but at what cost?

Elsewhere, everything was a blur. Her familiars couldn't make out much of the battle between Archer and Lancer - they were simply too fast. But then something changed. An enormous power, and a sudden flash of lightning... That was definitely a Noble Phantasm. She did her best to store her memory of what she'd seen, making a note of investigating it later. For now, though, she had an important job to complete. In the church, the raven caught sight of the blue-haired girl, and immediately hopped down from its perch. Opening its beak, it dropped a small roll of parchment tied with string onto the floor, and nudged it towards the overseer. Its contents were short and simple - as they had to be, given the limited size of the paper. Nevertheless, Mira hoped her message would be clear.

I, Mira, have summoned Saber successfully. I couldn't make it to the church, but I'll be fighting.

With that, the raven gave a caw, and fluttered back into the air and out the window. Its work was completed.

Lancer

Dɪᴀʟᴏɢᴜᴇ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✦ #0EB94D || Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #FFFA90

As the clouds scattered from the force of her aerial leap, Lancer could see her prey. He wasn't even facing her. It should have been easy to take his head, and yet... There were three arrows already knocked to his bow, and it was drawn back ready to release his shot at any moment. But how could he hope to aim three separate shots in the blink of an eye? Was he panicking, hoping he'd catch her with one of many arrows wildly loosed? There was no way that was his intention. She'd seen countless great warriors upon countless battlefields, and none would so hastily resort to such risky tactics, even against a powerful enemy such as herself. But then, that could only mean that...

He's bluffing! He knows exactly where I am!

This realization came not a moment too soon, as at the next instant, Archer spun into a rapid dive to the side, loosing all three arrows vertically as he did so. She'd already begun twisting her spear to defend herself, and intercepted the middle arrow almost without thinking, catching it between her lance's blade and its axe-like edge and shattering it to bits with a crack like thunder. However, the other two shots weren't aimed at her, but rather... Another deliberate miss? He was going to box her in! With her own remaining momentum carrying her right into the line of fire, there wasn't any way to pull back and disintegrate them as she had done before. If she spun with her remaining momentum, then she might be able to bat one out of the air, but just as likely, they'd bend around her and strike her directly. At the very least, there was no way to escape unscathed. Damn. She hadn't wanted to resort to this so early, but she couldn't risk being injured and picked off by this enemy. She'd have to use it. Her eyes shifted, focusing entirely upon the form of the retreating Archer. A shimmer of gold seemed to ripple through the air between them, as if the nature of the battlefield itself was being replaced by something else. Almost two miles away, Edward would momentarily feel a vast tug upon his energy as Lancer's true power was unleashed. She opened her mouth to speak its name, and then...!

Luck: E

The gold light faded before it could even reach its target. Lancer's eyes went wide in disbelief. There was no way... Why did she have to be matched up against such an unfair enemy?! Even if she tried to use her Noble Phantasm, she couldn't even activate it! Even she, who should have been able to resolve a battle such as this easily, could do nothing? Who the hell was this Archer?!

There was no time. The arrows were almost upon her now. She'd just have to do what she could. Twisting with the momentum of her initial swing, she released another burst of energy to flip her sideways, bringing down her glaive to strike the arrow aimed at her from beneath. It, too, shattered to pieces, but as she tried to raise the haft of her weapon to deflect the arrow striking at her from above... Only narrowly did she escape having her throat pierced completely through, as she managed to partially deflect it at the last second. However, it still wasn't enough. It lodged itself in her shoulder, burrowing cleanly through the scales of her armor and drawing blood. She stifled a cry of pain, but pressed on. The moment she let Archer get distance, this would all be over. She'd shown herself willing to use her Noble Phantasm, and it had been completely ineffective. He had no reason now not to just finish her off the moment he got the chance. There had to be something, some way she could strike him from the sky... And yet, he seemed aware of her every move, even if he couldn't see her. His arrows would seek her unfailingly, making evasion impossible, and she couldn't close the distance...

Eyes that unfailingly tracked their target. Projectiles that would seek her out no matter what. But what if he could only see her with his eyes? In that case... Instead of fighting as she was accustomed to, why not try her luck on his terms?

She leaped forward, reaching up and pulling out the arrow lodged in her shoulder as she did so. She'd be needing this. Once more, she darted upward into the cloud cover, as if trying to break line of sight to make her getaway. However, in the moment she disappeared from sight, she ran the bloodied arrowhead along the haft of her spear, tracing four runes upon it in her own blood.

ᚨᚦᛊᛒ

A simple rune chain. Ansuz serves to awaken the power of the inscription, while Thurisaz, the rune of giants, converts this energy into raw physical force. Sowilo here stands in opposition, serving to invoke revenge and retribution, which is given a vector by her blood. Berkano is used as a "seeking" rune, giving direction to the spell. As a result, the goal of the spell is "vengeance," and it will seek the one who drew first blood, aiming to deliver a blow with tremendously amplified force. However, it has low conceptual priority, as the hastily constructed runic chain doesn't have any particular meaning to lend power to it.

She reached the apex of her flight, and cast her spear violently upward, before kicking back off and rebounding downward as though falling. As she fell back through the clouds, she began drawing more runes upon her gauntlet, hoping that she'd have enough time to complete her defenses before he struck. She'd play up her injury, make herself an easy target, and prepare to receive his finishing blow. If she could just withstand or evade one shot, then while his attention was fully fixed upon her, he might not even notice the spear descending from the heavens, already turning about to round upon him, its edge stained with her blood and thirsty for his...

Mira Grace

Dɪᴀʟᴏɢᴜᴇ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✦ #8AB8E6 || Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #EBB40E

Mira gave a quiet squeak of surprise as Saber hoisted her up. She wasn't used to being approached by others, much less being bodily carried, but the sensation wasn't necessarily unpleasant. Even so, that wasn't what she was worried about. Saber had been so badly wounded defending her, and yet she was still struggling to carry her to safety. Was that really alright? Nevertheless, she couldn't bring herself to protest. The Lancer-class Servant had only been stopped from killing them both by the intervention of a third party - was it Archer? There were so many enemies, they were almost surrounded... There really was no choice. The outside wasn't safe. Retreat, regroup, heal Saber's wounds before it was too late...

"Just a little further," She murmured to herself, the familiar woods giving way to the grounds of her mansion. They were almost there now. Soon they'd be safe...

Elsewhere, the flock of ravens that had circled over the crater quickly began to disperse across the sky. A few headed towards the Church, while others scattered over the city, and three of the swifter members of the flock began circling around the tops of nearby skyscrapers, their red eyes watching the unfolding battle with keen interest.

At the church, a single, large raven fluttered in through an open window, keeping its distance from the altar and perching instead upon one of the far pews. She'd had a feeling they might not be able to make it to the church, so she'd prepared a brief message in advance, which the bird held in its beak. Now, if she could just find the overseer and give it to them...

As Victoria awoke once more in her own bed, she swiftly rose to her feet. It would have been easy to dismiss all she'd just seen as a dream, and yet, even before she saw the red light creeping in from beneath the blinds of her window, she knew that it had been much more than that. Even if she'd ostensibly only just woken up, and even if she was still in her pajamas, her eyelids didn't feel heavy at all. Rather, she felt wide awake from the moment she regained her awareness, as if she hadn't slept a wink. The crimson moon that greeted her when she drew back the window only proved beyond the shadow of a doubt the truth of which she was already certain.

"No time to so much as prepare, huh?" Victoria sighed in disappointment. "Really, how inconvenient..." She ran through again what she knew about the system. Nobody else was present here, which meant that in this world, she could do whatever she liked without fear of hindrance save from her enemies. Everything that existed in the real world seemed to be mirrored here, so any tools and objects she could find could be used freely. The first course of action that came to mind was simply to break into a gun store in this world where it would be unattended and arm herself to score easy kills, but her instincts told her that wouldn't work. Right... She wasn't the only one who'd received supernatural powers, and of course only magic could beat magic. The worst part of all, however, was that someone needed to die within the next 24 hours to ensure she herself survived... And given how people were, the others would probably be sobbing and crying about how they didn't want to hurt anyone right about now. What a joke. Society cultured them all to be obedient servants to their betters, putting the needs of others before themselves. Well, then, surely they wouldn't mind putting her needs before their own lives, then? Regardless, it was unpleasant. The powers she recieved seemed to have a defensive focus, but the only person she could count on to ensure a sacrifice was made before the designated time was, as always, herself. She'd have to go hunting, it seemed. Her house was in the north residential district, but there was no telling how close or far away her enemies were. Given population density, however, it was more likely than not that she'd find her targets closer to the center of town. Even if she didn't, there was more cover there than there was out in the middle of a small neighborhood. And so, the city's center became her destination.

And what of the purpose and rules of the system? It was supposedly a device to uphold the world... What a joke that a monster like her, set loose to kill without restraint, would be upholding the world's order. It was even more laughable considering her wish... But she supposed she couldn't have everything. Even if she couldn't destroy the world, she might be able to make it more bearable, or remove herself from it. She sighed, sliding her hands into the sleeves of a long cardigan, worn over her oversized shirt and hoodie - although she'd also donned some shorts for modesty's sake. The fabric fluttered out dramatically behind her as she swung open the window and hopped out, landing gingerly on the grass of the yard. Covering her eyes, she peered up into the crimson sky. The false moon hung motionless overhead, the clocks stopped just as they had been when she was first dragged into this nonsensical world. It was as if time had stopped. Time was... The time was...

And it was so bloody inconvenient. Not just this irrational survival game which hadn't even given her any time to think, but the world that existed outside, too. It was every bit as unreasonable, every bit as incomprehensible, every bit as painful as whatever fate might await her here. Life... it was nothing but a living death. Was she supposed to be satisfied with that sort of world? Of course not! She'd never accept it. It didn't matter how many lives it cost, or what she had to do to accomplish her dream. Starting today, she finally had the chance to make her dreams a reality! She, Victoria Stein... would fix this unreasonable, disgusting world!

"Ah!" She declaimed theatrically, swooning beneath the crimson moon. "'The time is out of joint.'" A grin spread across her face as she spread her arms as if to take on the weight of the very heavens above.

"'O cursèd spite... that ever I was born to set it right!'"
@dreamerWhat races are there in this setting? The intro mentioned "Lycans." Are those standard werewolves, various assorted beastkin, or something completely different? Also, are there other races than just that? If so, what are they and what sorts of culture do they have?
Ooh, now this seems like an interesting homebrew. I think I'll keep an eye on this one.

Fumika blinked at Yoshida's comment, raising a hand to her own face as he pointed to his. However, she didn't seem to take into account that their relative left and right sides were reversed, so she completely missed what he was trying to point out. Or at least, she missed it until he licked his fingers, at which point she decided to brush the spot of curry off her own cheek and do the same, since that was apparently normal. After that, she went right back to eating, brushing off the rest of her curry in a flash and swiftly moving onto her dessert. She was halfway through devouring a cinnamon roll when Yoshida's attention suddenly was directed elsewhere, and after a few moments of frowning angrily at some kind of commotion inside, he said to excuse him and swiftly headed back in. She craned her head, trying to make out the details of what was going on, but all she could really see was a bunch of people gathered around a toppled table. They were shouting loudly... That meant they were angry, right? People were even harder to deal with than usual when they were angry, so it was probably best if she just didn't get involved. Someone like her would only make things worse, no matter how hard she tried to help. Yoshida, though...

As expected of a hero like him, he immediately jumped right into the middle of things, and although she couldn't quite hear what he was saying, everyone seemed to calm down and scatter after he intervened. She breathed a faint sigh of relief. It was good that they weren't fighting anymore, and even better that Yoshida didn't get hurt. Then again, Yoshida was really strong, so was there even anyone who could really hurt him? Even in their fight, the only damage he'd received had been caused by his own strength rather than hers...

Either way, she was done with the rest of her meal now, so normally, she'd have just returned her tray of dishes and gone back to the classroom. But Yoshida had said to excuse him "for a moment," so that meant he was going to come back, right? He wanted her to stay there, right? So then she couldn't leave. But in that case, what was she supposed to do in the meantime? She sat in silence, contemplating this as her eyes and, subsequently, her attention slowly began to wander. She supposed that all she could really do was wait for him to come back.

Oh, but that bird out there in the garden was pretty. Its blue feathers were very bright and distinctive, and the crest on its head looked fluffy. It was hopping around and chirping to itself, but then it took off quite suddenly and flew into the air. Fumika watched as it disappeared, and sighed to herself. She wished she could fly. The world probably looked even prettier from up above...

Needless to say, Victoria's initial impression of the others around her was... less than stellar. For one thing, there was some idiot in a trench coat who, judging by his choice of "compliment," seemed to have somehow mistaken her for a boy. Really? She might not have been "curvy," persay, but it wasn't like her features were overly masculine! And what the hell was he talking about actually sleeping? It was as if he didn't even realize the meaning of her metaphorical words, let alone that she'd been quoting Shakespeare. Uncultured rube.

And then there was the Witch - Yama, as she called herself - who swiftly began... well, actually, what the hell was she even talking about? Her explanation of the "Naraka System," as she called it, appeared to line up with the new information that had appeared in Victoria's head, and the strange new powers her instincts told her she now possessed. And, leaving that much aside, she was standing in a park with a bunch of people she didn't know in the slightest, with no idea how she'd come to be there, and without a so much as a bird chirping to disturb the utter, unnatural silence of the lifeless world around her. Between that and the red sky... well, ridiculous though the situation might have seemed, it was a little hard not to believe the Witch's explanation.

Anyone else, put in her shoes, might have panicked, or been horrified by the knowledge that they'd have to kill in order to survive. And, even Victoria, who was well used to the fear Humans had towards "something foreign" that might take their own lives understood, in some sense, the enormity of what it was she would have to do. But simply thinking about it didn't change anything, so there was really no use dwelling on the inevitable loss of the lives surrounding her, now was there? Besides, they'd just as soon kill her in order to preserve themselves, so it wasn't personal or anything. There wasn't any reason to be upset, even for her own sake, since having her existence erased didn't sound all that different from what it was she desired in the first place. Whether she killed or was killed, where exactly did she come off losing? So, she shrugged, and moved on to what was clearly a much more pressing concern.

...Or at least, she would have if she hadn't been interrupted by that loudmouth in the trench coat, who was asking about Yama's HAT, of all the stupid-

...No, wait, damnit, she couldn't actually fault him for that. Now that she got a closer look at it, it was a REALLY NICE hat. ...But even so, that was hardly her most pressing concern.

"Ehem," She cleared her throat and butted in without waiting for the Witch to answer the first inane inquiry. "So basically, what you're saying is that you'll grant someone's wish in exchange for murdering each other? And yet, it doesn't seem as if you'd benefit in any particular way from any of our deaths. Perhaps you're simply in a charitable mood, but do forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical." Perhaps it was an odd assessment of the situation, but even given the survival game she'd been apparently tossed into without so much as being asked first, this whole setup seemed a bit... too good to be true?
EDIT: Nvm, guess somebody beat me to the punch. I'll drop out, then.
