It was good of him to try and hack the tall grass but Katniss felt little shock when it refused to relent. She supposed the team had designed it so it wouldn't easily break and give Tributes with a blade, an easy fix to the problem of not having any kind of vantage point. Katniss hated how the stupid Game Makers had thought of so much. Just once, she wished they forgot about something or didn't push combatants so hard with their tricky technology. It was revolting to think they were getting paid to play God as if they were better when they were just luckier. Nothing more.

They got little rest the night before and Katniss had hoped that tonight would be better but he right, if they stopped too long, they would surely be cut down by someone else trying to figure out how to get out alive. She wondered if they could rest once they reached the end. But as Haymitch said, it would take all day. Part of her missed the marsh, as evil as it was. Looking over her shoulder, she made a conflicted scowl before looking back at what was in front of them. The unknown.

She started to walk but not before she felt hi squeeze her shoulder a little and mention that should they get separated, to keep going for the mountains. Katniss wasn't going to let that happen but she knew better than to act immature and hopeful. They needed to be prepared and stay focused. "Alright." She couldn't do anything except agree as they began to walk through the grass. She pushed the thin grass out of their way, not thinking about where cameras could be hidden or what traps could be laid out for them. All she wanted to do was get through the field without losing Haymitch or an arm.

After several hours had passed and sun had been beating down upon their faces, Katniss began to smell something burning. Immediate panic overtook her and she looked around, trying to see where smoke could be coming from. She heard the screams of a teenage boy from District 6, she believed his name was Jaxob or something. Suddenly the boy rushed in front of them before running onward, his whole body in flame. The entire time he was screaming that it just came out of nowhere and sucked him up. Katniss cringed and drew her blade and ran after the boy, unable to continue to hear him screaming for his parents. She quickly shot for his chest but he fell to the ground and she missed.

Cursing, Katniss loaded her bow again and this time she finally got him. A canon was heard and she ran over to get her two arrows. She looked and thankfully saw Haymitch had caught up with where she ran off. "I know, I know, I shouldn't have deviated...it just wasn't right to let him burn." She glanced down at the burnt body, there was nothing to scavenge which meant they could move on. Katniss and Haymitch resumed their walking and as the sun began to set, she knew they had to keep going or risk being woken up by a very hot fire that was as clever as the mist or bugs. "When we get out of here, we'll rest."

Being by the mountains, would give them good enough cover to take shifts resting. Of course once they were there, they'd need to assess the area like any other and Katniss was well aware that it wouldn't be easy. As the sun set, she glanced to Haymitch. "Night time might be when beasts come out to play." She sighed and looked up to see only minimal light now. "We'll be in the dark soon too." She wasn't sure if the durable grass would break off to make a fire but if they stood around and wasted time trying something out, it might lead to a terrible mistake. "Let's try to pick up the pace." Was all she could suggest.

With the rope helping them stay together, as well as remove some of the claustrophobia the field held, Gale felt his spirits rise. He knew they had a long five days ahead of them but at least they were finally making some real progress. When Prim looked over and apologized, he smiled to her, not holding any sort of bad feelings. She was worried, he understood that, even if he didn't understand the extensive worry itself. The arena was a tough place and they were both doing their best to keep a level head, so Gale understood that they couldn't always be calm about things. "It's fine." He whispered in return, his tone light.

The girl tied to his side then added she didn't get it for nothing. Gale smiled a little more. "I love the gift, it's a great accessory with our outfit." He replied, knowing his own attempt at a joke was pretty poor. Humor wasn't his strong suit but he was trying to keep things good between them so they weren't bogged down with anything superficial. Soon they would find Katniss and Haymitch and they could all suffer together. It would be nothing like the party they had for Peeta but it would be something at least.

While Prim hadn't noticed the change around them, which he attributed to her limited time hunting back home, Gale wasn't going to take any chances, which meant untying them. She reached for him but stopped herself. That was good and bad. It meant she saw what he did but it also meant they indeed, had reason to worry. He didn't agree vocally to her suggestion, but instead did it. He put his back to hers and held out his sword. The grass rustled once more and a large mutation hound finally showed itself, its teeth barred at them. Gale's eyes widened and it leaped at them. His instinct was to run but that would be awful, leaving him defenseless.

Gale swung at the animal and hit its shoulder. It then hurled itself toward Prim. For the next twenty minutes, the pair took turns taking on the beast, needing breaks to catch their breath but finally they killed it. Gale had taken some clawed swipes to his arm as well as a bite but for now, he needed to rest and make sure Prim was okay. He wasn't bleeding heavily and thought he'd be okay. Of course now he wished he hadn't cut off his sleeve and turned back to Prim to see how she was doing. "You were right." He gave her a tired pained smile as he picked up their pack.

The pair started to treat their wounds which weren't awful, but needed treatment regardless. A sound could be heard and he looked up to see a shiny object fall and land off to the left, about five feet away. Gale jogged over to it and opened it to see some salve as well as a canteen half filled with water. He ran back to Prim, rather surprised that Peeta had managed to swing such things for them. Sadly though, there wasn't a lot of salve for them, probably enough to patch them up now but none to save for later. The sun was also beginning to slowly descend. "Let's save the water and keep moving. I don't think we'll find sleep tonight." He said as he returned his arm to Prim so she could work her magic.
Oooh wonderful. I'll get started on a reply as soon as I'm done with the post I'm working on~
Thanks for the heads up, I should be around for most of the day so no rush. :)
Yes, that's her! Scream Queens has that Emma Roberts, I am so sick of her. I do love Jamie Lee Curtis though...Scream Queens looks like a parody of horror though, which could be super fun...ah well, we have time to decide. ^^;

Sure, it could be fun if you'd like. Otherwise I'm cool with just calling him a dick over the phone lol

EDIT - I posted~ I sorta skipped to the evening since I know we wanted to shave posts off a little for the day and for the evening. I also assumed putting them at the mountains in the morning/early afternoon would be alright. If you need to change anything though, I can. ^^
Kingdom of Ferelden: Woodsmen Outpost

Perhaps it had been overly optimistic for her to think he had seen what she had. She had hoped he could have provided more insight into the events that occurred but she also knew he may have been in an area where he had only fought, having not noticed much else around him. Wystellia didn't have all the facts and until she did, she knew she couldn't make too rash of a judgement when it came to Loghain. Where she thrived though, was when she was given an order. She liked to follow them, the structure provided was somewhat comforting, possibly contradicting her need for freedom but to her, freedom didn't mean chaos and recklessness.

For now, the two of them were sitting on the edge of chaos, considering they could have easily been killed but were instead alive.

There was silence and the mage waited, unsure if he would remember anything else from the cluttered battle and ruins. Things hadn't gone according to plan and in her mind, Loghain could have handled it but instead he hadn't. Why? Blinking away the images of the dead bodies, she looked back to Julien, unsure of how well he was to travel. But where would they even go? Sure, they couldn't stay where they were but who could they turn to? His next words solidified his disorientation and she told herself to be careful and tread tenderly. "Alright." She licked her lips and looked off, not sure what to say and what to keep to herself until he seemed more physically and mentally up to hearing more of the blunt facts.

"I don't know much because I just got up as well." She gave a disclaimer to the man, even if she was in a better spot than him. He then mentioned how some magic would be great, making the woman give him a small nod. His final comment coaxed a medium sized smile to scamper across her face. "I don't think they're the dancing sort...trampling, I suppose but let's see what I can do about that." Wystellia said lightly and began to channel her healing magic. "We're in a small little village where woodsmen often congregate." She began to tell him as she pointed her staff at Julien's body and began to do a basic healing spell for his wounds before she began to use something more potent, having needed to ease both the patent and herself, into the healing process.

Wystellia's eyes were focused on her target, taking note of what needed more effort and what could be left to heal on its own. "I think I walked here but you, I have a feeling someone helped you find your way here." She told him. "I did offer to stay and help but those who are here, insisted we not linger when we're well enough to leave on our own." She set her staff down, rather pleased with what work she could do. The major injuries had been fixed and even some of the minor ones, were mended as well. "I don't know if there's anything...or anyone left back in Ostagar." She told him grimly and got to her feet. "It might be helpful to go back though, see if it helps us remember anything, maybe there would be a clue as to what exactly happened." Or didn't.

Of course, they could move on elsewhere if the idea didn't sit well with Julien. "Right now, we're both without a clear direction. We need answers and we won't find them if we stick around here." She pointed out. "These generous people don't need to be taking care of us. It's our job to take care of them...and everyone else for that matter." Wystellia walked the four steps over to the window and looked outside to see people still doing their work, cutting wood, making stew, carrying food for their livestock. "There have to be other Grey Wardens out there...right?" She turned back to the man. "Maybe they found other places to flee to." She knew deep down, it was desperate thinking.
Oh, @tsukune thank you for the kind words. Even if we don't share anything in common, we at least share a passion for writing and that I can often get behind.

Oh you flatter me quite, @Altered Tundra thank you! I know I've watched you for a while too, you're one of the awesome originals who have stuck around. :) By the way, your signature and avatar set? *fans self* I'm always happy to see the Glube.

And thank you too, @Nightrunner that's really sweet of you to say~

Now for me...

@xodus is a GM I have always tried to emulate. I've been stalking their C.A RP for many years and have had a hard time sticking to the sidelines. They're what pushed me into becoming a GM and starting my own line of RPs. They're awesome and creative, a great inspiration for me since I joined the site many moons ago.

@SoleAccord He's a badass friend who I love to plot with. He's also a bombass writer who has stuck with me for quite some time. He is so great with fandoms, I almost hate him but instead, I love him to bits! He's passionate and strong with his posts and the effort doesn't go unnoticed. <3

@mmidnight You're my girl, we've been working on our THG for eons and it's never once taken a dip in awesomeness! I credit the success to you and I am so stoked to keep going~! :3

@vietmyke I couldn't leave you out. My trusty co-GM...my rock...my lover--wait no! I mean...um ahem! I kid, I kid. You're patient, give great input and are easy to mesh with. Without you, I'd be utterly lost though, it's icing on the cake that you're not only super nice but a super cool writer too and I know you've got lots on your plate. The fact you make time for C&C and me, is really appreciated.

@Krauxis Your posts make me smile, getting something from you is always amazeballs. I'm so glad you've stayed with me and the RP for so long with everything else going on. I love ya!

@NeoAC and @TalijaKey are both fun to have around as well and you have both been so cool with the turbulence lately. Thank you so much!

@Marx I'm not sure if you're the same guy I RP'ed with a while ago when we had the 1x1, I'm still bummed you dropped it but I'm only saying this because I think you're a freaking awesome writer and no matter what you do, you're doing it well. So no hard feelings, bud. Just know I'm always rooting for ya.

@Vena Sera Even though I thought we had a good thing going, you were really good. Like super fucking awesome good and you should know I admire your skill. Keep on writing, man.

@Torchwood I don't know where you are now but you were a FANTASTIC Ninth Doctor and I needed to let you know that.

I'd give shoutouts to my older crew but since they haven't been around since relaunch, I can't. I'm sure I'll be back to remember those I've forgotten though! ^^;
@sMoKe I'd do my best to ensure that those unfamiliar with DAO are well informed, comfortable and confident, so I wouldn't want you to be deterred. :3

@Arcanaut Hello fellow gamer! I am almost done with one run through DAO, will tackle Awakening this fall I foresee...ahem. In terms of the events that have taken place, I am erasing some canon events as well as the characters themselves because they won't really be needed. So in a way, the DAO canon protagonists don't exist and the antagonists themselves will also be tinkered with. If you'd like Grass, that would be Green or Emerald. But that's cool with me!
I don't think I'll watch it but maybe I'll do a rewarch of Asylum or maybe...Coven because as cringy as it was at moments, it was still fun. I love Lily Rabe but Quinto and...um that other lady are good to watch. If I hear Gaga isn't disastrous I may watch the pilot some time but I really want more gore and thrills, and less gimmicks and teen drama.

I see your post! I think we should totally make Dhyn or however we'll spell his name, be from District 2? Maybe~?
All suburbs are dullsville, bro. Unless there's a killer on the loose or something? It is close to Halloween haha.

Oh I probably already but are you gonna check out AHS Hotel or nah? I think you said you would right. Tell me how episode one sets things up cause it'll feel weird not watching this year.

Coolio, and yes, I'll drop you a text now actually haha.
Ohh yeah, better stay away from bears but it's good that there's a lot of places for you to check out, I'm sure with some awesome views too.

Yeah I'd be down to catch for sure. I'm gonna nom on some dinner eventually but yeah here or via call works for me too. I hope things are going super swell for ya with the good news you've been getting thought. ^^
