Audrey practically jumped out of her skin when James grabbed her. She moved quickly, like one who is used to having to fend off unwanted touching, and had his hand in a death grip for just a moment, before she realized who he was and let go.

"James. Shit, where did you come from?"

Meanwhile, she couldn't help but notice all the weirdness. The entire cafe seemed to be falling apart, and Kassidy didn't seem to see James either, just completely missed him and ran right into him. She stumbled backward and knocked into Audrey.

A new pain blossomed in her hand, much like the one in her foot, and she looked down and saw that she was bleeding from it.

"Ach!" she exclaimed, and pressed her palm into her shirt to try to staunch it.
@Kyrisse

I'm gonna make a kind of executive request, that you change your post so that when James knocks her back, she stumbles toward Audrey and tries to steady herself on her. I'm going to post assuming that they touched each other, sorry if it seems like I'm making you do something, but it's a really natural moment for them to touch, which I wanted to happen.
@R31GN Problem with geography in post, and this is kind of my fault for discouraging you from reading the OOC because it's actually come up already.

This isn't a normal, sunny fun tourist beach. We're talking more like this:

Imagine that the town is up on top of that cliff, and all of the shops on "Beach Street" are basically right on the edge, overlooking it.

The beach is definitely a staple of town life(so it makes sense to meet there, or to hang out there) but there aren't any shops down there, because high tide comes right up to the cliff face.

This fact kind of ruins a lot of the flavor and background of your post, but it's a thing.

He might also remark that he hasn't seen Audrey in a couple years, she's been gone since she dropped out of high school, and this is the first she's returned to town(and it's very likely that she was a customer of his for some time).

@AbandonedIntel

It's not that I don't have tons of cool ideas for powers already on hand, it's that I'm not sure what to fit her with.

Have you read the post about how powers were chosen? I don't remember if I asked you not to, I was trying to keep it a secret from people before they posted.
@AbandonedIntel

I see no inherent problems with the character, but I am having trouble coming up with a good power to match her with.
@AbandonedIntel Yeah, if you want to make a character, feel free to apply.
@SouffleGirl123

Wanted to make sure you saw the time limit above.

If you miss it, we're just gonna move on without you, you're not getting kicked out or anything like that.
@Ellion I never did, but here's one.

Tomorrow, at about 6 PM EST. Because that's when I'll be able to post next.
1) No, it applies only in person. Electronics are capable of recording him, and playing him back.

2) See number 1

3) I didn't have things as large as cars in mind when I mentioned him interacting with things. The way I see it, a car is too big for his filter to include.
People will, however, find the driver of the car impossible to recall.
@R31GN

Perception Filter: He is not invisible, but rather others simply fail to notice him. Any items he is holding fall under this filter, as well as most objects that he interacts with, and changes he makes to the environment.

The Catch: This power is always "on." The only times it stops affecting someone are when:

1) He is physically touching that person.

2) He extends the filter(by touching, interacting or holding) to something that that person is looking directly at.

To reapply the filter, he must break visual contact with the person. When the filter is reapplied, the victim will remember seeing him, but will not be able to spot him again, no matter how hard they try.

Early Presentation: People will seem to be ignoring him, and will seem to start ignoring him again very quickly even after he manages to get their attention.

((Reasoning: His pathological need for companionship. He will have to try even harder to be friends with people.))

Audrey nodded at Kassidy. "Yeah, I saw that much, he- it came from the beach, I was down there when it happened. I lost sight of it when it passed by the Cafe."

She looked at Mary as Kassidy went to take care of some service industry related business, "Did you see where it went after that?"

~~~
The mystery light in question had flown out, away from the sea and over toward the next town, keeping low the entire time. But now, as Mary and Audrey discussed it, it had doubled back and, unseen by those in the cafe, was flying over the beach, back and forth. Every turn was jerky, as if it were having a difficult time making the curves. Every once in a while, it turned sideways and made a wider streak as it rolled across the sky.
