Quote: “A little less boy, a little more genius!” (Imagine this given with "double guns" and a mouth click)
Theme Song: Technologic - Daft Punk
Name: Cecil Monroe
Alias: None, though his squadmates may adopt one.
Age: 25
Powers and Skills: Super Genius(specializing in physics and mechanical engineering)

Weaknesses: Normal human. Though he's a brilliant inventor and can build improvised high tech from everyday appliances, he's not a genius in many other areas. He's not a great strategist, for one glaring example, and is often caught because he failed to cover his bases in planning.

Personality: Excitable and talkative, most people don't expect the “evil genius” to be as easy to get along with as he is. He might have done well in academia or engineering, but he is nihilistic and impulsive, and has been using his genius for grand attempts at personal gain since he was barely a teenager.
One thing that can be said for him is that none of his schemes has(intentionally) threatened human life. He is surprisingly compassionate and socially conscious, and has gone to court against the state for the rights of his fellow inmates on more than one occasion.

Appearance: A thin framed young man, of thick and wavy dark hair and black eyes. He has a tired look about his eyes, and is usually artfully disheveled.
He dresses fashionably, be it name brand street clothes, or a two thousand dollar top coat.

Biggest Claim[s] to Fame: Held a military satellite hostage from his mother’s basement at thirteen years old.

How Long Have You Been in Prison: On and off for twelve years. His current uninterrupted stint has been two years.
Brief History: Cecil first came to the world’s attention in what would become his accustomed grand style at the age of thirteen, calling himself a “boy genius.” He launched a rocket from his backyard that intercepted and attached itself to a military satellite. Once attached, Cecil contacted the pentagon and threatened to detonate it if he wasn't paid.

They traced his call and arrested him.
He likely would have been tried as an adult for treason or terrorism, but DARPA saw value in someone who could assault an orbiting installation with a rocket made of garbage and tried to employ him. Cecil went along with this, until he managed to slip his handlers and make off with two hundred thousand in embezzled funds. The FBI caught up with him six months later, but the money was never recovered.

He was never given a second chance, and yet has spent more than half of the time since his second arrest a free man. He simply keeps escaping. The list of privileges he is allowed in prison has dwindled until the only things he can have in his solitary holding cell are books, which he had to sue the state to allow.
@OfWindAndRain Not that it matters anymore, but she doesn't amplify others powers, she has the ability to borrow them while touching others(which is in the description given). So in those cases it's not that she made either of the others stronger, but rather that she was simply having the same effect at the same time. Please don't blame me for not being thorough in my writing, I did in fact give you that information.

As for me dictating how powers work, well that's kind of the point of this RP, isn't it? I didn't tell anyone how their character should behave, I just wanted to remind you of when your power becomes applicable.

If you didn't feel you had enough information, you could have asked for more. I felt like I had given enough to be getting on with, and I was working towards more to be revealed very early in the story. If it was not enough, I understand that. It's easy to think that the plot one is writing is obvious when it really isn't from the outside.

I had no problems with Allen, but Junk was rude. There is a polite way to express a grievance, sarcasm is not that. When I asked him to watch it, I was met with more sarcasm(and a vague implication that I was lying). It sucks to lose active(indeed the most active) players, but in my opinion it's worse to have someone who is going to treat people with such disrespect around.

It sucks for others to follow him too, but I don't feel bad for kicking him.
It's ironic to lecture me about bringing things up in private and then pull that.

It was also a dick move, because I'm sure everyone here knows that open conflict harms RPs. So thanks for being a deliberate detriment, that's a very mature way to handle this.

@Mr Allen J She got distracted by several people showing up, that's a perfectly reasonable thing to happen. In fact, it would be very unnatural dialogue for her to address all of the newcomers in turn and then say, "but coming back to you" all in one long speech.

Think about how conversations really go for a second; you don't doggedly stay on topic no matter what distractions crop up around you.

This is something that bothers me about a lot of RPers. Oftentimes people feel the need for their character to have a reaction to every single event that transpires between their last post and their next one. That's ridiculous, it doesn't even make sense. In conversation if you cut in every time you had something relevant to say, you'd look like a dick.

This is why I've been trying to stress shorter posts, the way things go are often strange and unnatural(as @CharmingDevil has actually noticed). Another reason is that longer posts take longer to make and longer to read, and it just stretches out time when the plot is trying to move.

@Eyeris You might be, get on skype and we'll hash it out. In the mean time, if you can post I can get things back into gear.

@Everyone: I'm working on a second series of plot motions, so that those who aren't about to be involved in the Audrey/Solomon scene will have something to be going on with.
@JunkMail Watch your attitude, please. I did in fact read that, but I assumed it was meant to be a representation of his own nervous response to Alex's hug.

My post was just a reminder, it wasn't meant to berate anyone for forgetting.
@JunkMail@OfWindAndRain Yo, as Alex and Dex are touching, what clouds are visible in the sky start to converge and the wind and rain start whipping up even worse. By their contact, she's borrowing his power and so the passive effect is doubled.

Dexter is gonna get shocked when Zoey joins the hug, because she has her own charge, and it gets added to the one that Alex will start to generate from borrowing her power as well.
@Mr Allen J Er, I may have misunderstood. Is it meant to be implied that she didn't physically speak?
Otherwise I think my post is reasonable. She may have heard it in her own "voice" but she was also hearing it outside. So she combined the two together and attributed it to Bae(and then remarked that it was weird she could hear it so well).
@CharmingDevil@Goblinesque@JackalopeLove

Just wanted to ping some of the people who have been quiet lately. I get that it was the weekend, and some may be busy, but I'd like to keep momentum going.
@Mr Allen J @Eyeris

When Jasmine tried to whisper in her ear, Audrey answered back, at normal volume, "I cannot hear you." She had, however, heard how Jasmine had reacted to Alexandra, and thought Alex was quite right to storm off like that. Aud almost told Jasmine the same, but with the roar of her bike to go with it (see how you like that, miss "I can hear heartbeats").

But Audrey felt too entrenched in the mystery of this town's lights and the sudden apparent supernatural powers to turn away someone who was claiming to be affected by it. And that line of thinking brought Audrey to Bae, with her claim that she could read minds. Strangely enough, Audrey didn't have any trouble hearing anything that Bae said, ringing ears or no, and that gave her a thought.

Can you? Audrey thought, staring intently at Bae, Tell me how lovely and pink the sky is today.
@Mr Allen J
There's passive aggressive and all that, but your character's really just kinda assholish.

Really torn between Alexandra verbally punching her back or just having her hurt. Dunno yet.

@Gisk
Would it be possible that Alexandra could intentionally leech the energy out of someone via touch, provided she wanted to hurt that person, or had a strong negative emotion? Like, she just gets really angry, and grabs them- and drains them of just about any energy they had.

Of course, then she'd be horrified.

But is it purely a passive effect or will it have this more active one?

Yeah, that's definitely one way the power is meant to work.

Alright, folks. There's a few intro posts going around still, I know, but other than them, the average for post length is pretty long. Just consider what actually needs to be there, don't go putting filler in to make your post longer.
