Hogwarts 2010

The year is 2010, it is a modern age. The muggle world moves swiftly forward, and thanks to the efforts of muggle rights advocates like Arthur Weasley and Hermione Granger, the wizarding world is following along, if sluggishly. A new year starts at Hogwarts, with a new crop of First Years boarding the Hogwarts Express.

Here is a CS, feel free to post a character. I should warn that I am a picky character judge, don't take it personally, I'm usually nice about it.

Appearance: Pictures okay, but no anime style, please. If you like, you can list stats instead of describing in prose(hair color, eye color, height weight, etc).

Personality: Short but to the point, give me a good basic gist.

Wand: You can create one, or leave this blank for me to assign one based on your character

House: Same as above, feel free to fill out or leave blank.

Pet:

Class rankings: Rank your character's core classes. You can put as many in the middle as you like, but for every Top, you must have at least one Bottom.

I am counting flying as a class. I probably won't count History of Magic or Astronomy, just because I don't want people shoving them in the bottom so they can keep DADA and Charms on top without sacrificing anything.

@Pyromaniacwolf So my main concern will be that everyone stays on more or less equal footing. To this end, I'm thinking of having everyone list their strengths and weaknesses. The way I was going to do it was have them list their core subjects in three categories, strong, average and weak. You can have any in average, but for every one you put in strong, one has to go in weak.

To actually answer your question: as long as the dark spells he knows are level appropriate, I don't mind the nature of them. I think it's heavily implied that Draco knew spells because of the darker connections his family had, even in earlier years. So, if we're starting first year, I don't want to see Sectum Sempra.

We could even revive my Dark Arts society, as a side plot. Could be fun, if more characters have the interest.

@Demon Shinobi Hey, don't worry about it. If this keeps going, we can just sort of hash out an ending to that scene and move on to whatever it is that's going down with hulks in the mountains.

Well we can put a pin in co GM. Would either of you be willing to at least play a teacher, who could help create events to keep things moving?

I'm definitely thinking modern-ish, I don't know if we're talking starting 09/01/2017, or maybe just a few years after the Battle of Hogwarts. I did one(sadly did not get far) that took place two years after the BoH, the school had spent one year rebuilding and it was the first year it was open after the events of the books, the RP focused on an illicit Dark Arts club run by students who had been there two years before, when the Carrows ran DADA.

The trouble with doing it literally this year is that a lot of canon character's children would be in school at the time, and I don't want that, so maybe we'd be looking at a few years in the past from now.

Let me know what you guys think for time.

Canary has not been in this thread in months. Someone else was about to start his own RP since everyone was so excited, but the that person also hasn't been on in eight days.

I'm currently thinking about trying to get one started myself, but I would need someone else to help take the responsibility of driving the game forward.
