Wonder Woman’s “proclamation” hadn’t gone unheard, that much was for sure.

In only a matter of a few hours, Diana had gone from a surprising hero to a esteemed special guest of the Kaznian Royal Government—a honor that she felt was unnecessary given her efforts in Kaznia were purely non-political. But Diana wasn’t so tactless to refuse a royal honor, even if it was a small one. After all, the Izabran lineage had persevered as far back as the 18th century; long before the revival of Serbian nationalism that led to the eventual independence from the Ottoman Turks. Much like Latveria, Transia and other Serbian states there was a perseverance and tenacity that refused to submit to foreign rule.

It was something Diana could admire about them: the will to fight back, never allowing their ideals to be conquered.

Perhaps it was another reason to stay in Kaznia a little while. At least until she stopped the attacks at their source.

“I hope you are enjoying your stay here in Kaznia.”

The voice was Princess Audrey’s, heir to the crown. Kaznia was one of the few monarchies left on the planet and the only one that held an absolute cognatic succession1— a system that Diana found meritorious in an age where men still dominated women despite claiming that the other had equal right to lead; a political fallacy made to give the illusion of liberty.

“I appreciate the accommodations, but I really need to get back to solving your terrorist problem.”

“Of course, but even a heroine needs some time to rest.”

“It’s been a few hours, I’ve had more than enough. Princess—”

“—Audrey. You are not of Kaznia, you do not need to be so formal, Wonder Woman. I am not your Princess.”

Audrey’s interjection caught her off guard for a moment, Diana’s lips rising as the superheroine’s intensity faded for a moment.

“Then you may call me Diana.”

“Oh good, it is like we are friends!”

Diana nodded, “Indeed.”

Lost for a moment, Diana decided to get back to the point. Her stay in the royal castle had been nice indeed, but she needed to be out there and with the King of Kaznia giving Diana full access to the infrastructure of their nation to solve the issue it would be far easier than had she had to do this back in America. Though such a allowance, even to a ‘superhero’ was strange. Were these attacks that devastating and common that they could endanger Kaznia as it did? If so, why had not the United Nations or even neighboring Latveria tossed in their hand to help?

Perhaps the Kaznian Prime Minister believed it to be an internal issue and made that clear to anyone from the outside looking in? Such pride was dangerous… but Diana understood it.

But Diana knew desperation when she saw it, and the royal family was nearing a breaking point; that much was evident when the fact reached her that Audrey’s father had fallen ill from stress before she had even entered the country. But that was just another reason to deal with this quickly. The faster she found the source and dealt with it, the fewer people had to suffer from man’s wrath and greed.

“I’ll be heading out now, I have some experience finding trouble. I’ll have this thing done and buried before you know. Kaznia will be safe once again, you have my word.”

“Be careful, Diana. With Kaznia, she is not as gentle as she looks.”

“Neither am I.”

Speaking of, I should get back to working on my second Wonder Woman post.
I called that bluff so hard I should’ve bet money on it.
@Morden Man

This is yet another reason I don't like large groups. I mean, I don't create characters in the hopes that "everyone likes me." but if a good amount of people don't agree with it, except the GM, then I feel like I'll be put out when the time comes gamewise. I've been screwed over before in that instance when I was RPing in MMOs back in the day.

I don't think it'll happen here, but it's hard to let go of preconceived notions. I am sticking with Harley regardless if anyone agrees or not, but it seemed like multiple people didn't and I don't want to step on people's toes if it interferes with the game.

Do note that I do not intend to ignore your action in-game at all, though I doubt my characters will run into you. With that said, I do hope my clarification and preferences didn’t set you off the game; I did it only in the sake of transparency like I did with Green Arrow’s politics or Lex Luthor’s link to the MRA. Even as a player my interests are only for the sake of the game but despite that I don’t want anyone to feel ostracized, ignored, or belittled.

Besides I’ve written with you before, so if things are like it was in that RP we will have no problems. =)

I had my Negasonic Teenage Warhead sheet all ready to go, but then no one went for the muties.

I’ll believe that when I see it.
If we were all so worried about what every other player “likes” we’d be playing a long game of nothing. I was just simply asked for my reasoning and my input, subjective as it might be.
Well Morden Man did say his ruling is final. If he's ok with it, then that's that. But I would like to point out that the rules say Mainstream Marvel and DC. It didn't specify heroes only, no sidekicks. I am sure Robin could come out as his own "hero" given the right motivation.

The GM also has told players not to “ultimize” thus meaning to not make major character changes that ‘reinvent the wheel’ as the idiom goes. I was allowed for variation on Wonder Woman after a discussion about it, but someone who made bigger changes like turning Black Panther into a teenager in New York City wasn’t. There are exceptions to this so far, but I believe Morden has been consistent in his rulings for the most part. This is why the issue of Harley comes up because her traditional origin is impossible in the framework of the game.
Hang on, though. Why would Ivy even be out of place? Okay, sidekicks coming too early I get, but Ivy's just a villain. Not being argumentative, just genuinely curious about the reasoning.

I sort of believe when Batman is only just now getting into the thick of his career where he hasn’t tangled with his more audacious and eccentric villains (The Joker, Two Face, etc.) that it kind of goes beyond my personal suspension of belief. Basically you can sum it up as she’s a legacy character that hasn’t debuted in-continuity and has been changed to accommodate player interest rather than storytelling dynamic. This is not an insult towards Blue Demon, who I’ve written with before and completely trust but rather my subjective feelings that “it’s too soon” for both Ivy and Harley. But I can put my preferences aside and put trust in the players and the GM’s, because ultimately this isn’t my personal fan-fiction and it has a different feel than the RP’s I run, so I’m just going with the flow. I just want to point out my personal misgivings.
A active OOC is better for the game, anyway.
<Snipped quote by Blue Demon>

Don't get him started on Damian being around before Dick, Jason and Tim.

or Spoiler being around before said. But these are of course just my opinions and I have no say on any of these things. I can respect the direction my fellow writers want to take things even if I disagree with them conceptually! I know you, Bounce, etc. will pull things off.
Chiming in with my opinion, but given Batman is only like his second year I have huge problems with Harley being about; even more than I do with Poison Ivy. This is a "One Universe" game not an "Ultimate" game, so shouldn't most characters go by the "don't reinvent the character and ultimize them; only minor changes, not major ones." rule?

do I need to clear it with him to play that character?

It's kind of what the games ask with legacy characters: to make sure you can work something out with the parent character's player so to not step on too many toes.
