Bio
I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO and 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books for over 48 years. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge on the subject to include personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.
I have been writing for pleasure for at least 34+ years, but only got into forum-based Role Playing about fourteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.
When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons (Edition 1 & 2). Later editions came out after I quit that game. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts. I love doing this form of role play, especially since I have a solid foundation on the past.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport three years ago. :(]
In July, I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government.
Send me a PM for a Role Play.

History
What Brings You To Role Player Guild: There is a large community of writers here. I enjoy the hobby even though I rarely get time to participate. Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. Life Before You Came To Role Player Guild: It was very different. I don’t know how to explain it in just a few words or sentences. Life Since You Came To Role Player Guild: This is just a side hobby. I have many irons in the fire and this is just one of them. It has taken a back seat to my real life activities.

Quotes or Sayings: “Those who fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.” – Winston Churchill paraphrasing George Santayana. “If you’re going to fight, fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark and brother…It’s starting to rain.” Theme Song: Warrior’s Call Advice To The World: Forgive the actions of those who came before us. Behaviors we consider heinous crimes today were generally accepted practices many years ago. Anything Else:
The AMC was built while technology was still good. Before the apocalypse. But the apocalypse caused the destruction of most of the AMC, but now they are rebuilding. Robots do not forget how to build things unless it was deleted. They are AUTOMATED. They can construct more of themselves and build more facilities. The AMC is still alive. Just weakened. But if the GM does not want this one ether, I will reconstruct again.
We'll see what Kuro says, but your tech level is 2040s. I don't believe the tech in this RP has passed 1940s. With that said, it is rare. You're faction would make it more than abundant.
Every once in a while, at work, I’ll steal all the pens from a specific manager I don’t like’s desk. Sometimes, I’ll throw them directly in the garbage. Others, I disperse them among coworkers to muddy the trail. But every time, I revel in the chaos.
@Nate1008Wow! The Automatic Militia Corporation (AMC) appears to be a fantastic organization for a Role Play set in a very tech heavy futuristic Science fiction Role play; not unlike your previous attempt with the Cybernetic Construct Corporation (C.C.C). They both look very fantastic. But I think you are kind of missing the point of this dystopian, post apocalyptic Role play. It is sort of like a pitcher, standing on the pitcher's mound and throwing the ball to second base, while the batter waits at home plate--totally in the opposite direction.
Dystopian: relating to or denoting an imagined state or society where there is great suffering or injustice.
Post-apocalyptic fiction is a subgenre of science fiction, science fantasy, dystopian or horror in which the Earth's technological civilization has collapsed. The apocalyptic event may be climatic, such as runaway climate change; natural, such as an impact event; man-made, such as nuclear holocaust or resource depletion; medical, such as a pandemic, whether natural or man-made; eschatological, such as the Last Judgment, Second Coming or Ragnarök; or imaginative, such as a zombie apocalypse, cybernetic revolt, technological singularity, dysgenics or alien invasion.
If you have ever read anything in the Steampunk era, you'll note there is a serious degradation in technological advantages. Most that I have seen are set around the turn of the 19th/20th centuries or The Great War era. This one would at least allow you to possess 1940s tech. From the quote below, Kuro has allowed an extremely rare opportunity to find a working lasrifle or titan machine to use. Your idea suggests quite the opposite of that intent. You may want to rethink the direction you are heading.
What I have in mind for this roleplay is to create a mishmash of some of my favorite settings and genres...To explain in the simplest way possible: the world is FUCKED! The war we know as World War 2 left devastation throughout the world, with the collapse of empires and countries leaving behind only the RARE WORKING lasrifle or titan—monstrous machines of death—behind in their wake. In addition, the various remnants of humanity are not the only enemy, with mutated beings and zombie-like plague carriers guarding ruins and the roads between makeshift outposts. Safety and shelter, while not unheard of, is a rarity in a world where anything could kill you.
My favorite movie of all time is "Kelly's Heroes" which came out in the early 1970s. But I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan.Loved the Spaghetti Westerns from the 1960s and Dirty Harry movies.
LOL It's Lake Placid. Oldest movie I've ever owned and watched was the black and white video cassette Night of the Living Dead.
Lake Placid (1999) is 20 years old and I rarely watch horror. I can't stand that genre. Some of the oldest movies I've seen are The Wizard of Oz (1939) and Sergeant York (1941). When I was a kid, The Wizard of Oz was on Television every year about two weeks before Christmas. That was back when there were only three or four stations on Television (ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS). Today, if you want to see some outdated movie, you can find it online.
I'm watching a movie I saw at the movies 14 years ago. It's still good
A 14-year old movie? That's not old at all. I have several movies I watch on a semi-regular basis that are much older. Hell, I know I have shoes older than that movie. What was the title?
Tom followed the the group into the safehouse after the young woman was greeted with terror in the parking area. ‘That poor young woman must have shit her britches at that introduction.’ he thought to himself. He held a gauze to his left cheek covering the bleeding wound. He took a seat waiting quietly for his turn to be treated by Jason. He held the gauze over his face in order to put direct pressure on the wound, stopping the bleeding. He saw the new girl walking around, wondered who she was, but she didn’t talk to him so he wouldn’t find out tonight. He still didn’t know who the guy they picked up in the SUV was. Apparently, introductions would happen in time.
Eventually, Jason got to his face. He applied a few steri strips and then covered with a clean bandage. Tom figured he would have a scar when this healed. Scarface. Once the bandage was in place, he retired to his room. He took a quick shower and went to sleep thinking about the creature in the woods. He really didn’t know what he had gotten himself into but wouldn’t miss this for the world. He hoped Justin was OK. He would talk to him later.
At zero five thirty the next morning, he was awake before the rest of the house and went for his morning run. His limbs were a bit stiff from the sprint through the woods the night before. The morning run would help to work the kinks out. Exercise is the best remedy to help stretch out the muscles, making him limber today and not walking around all stiff and lame. Most people who do not appreciate the benefit of exercise would prefer to use the I’m all stiff and lame excuse than head outside to exercise. He preferred padwork but didn’t have anyone to spar with. He hoped Justin would, but he didn’t seem available either. He recalled some martial arts training when he was a teen. It was at that time in his life when he learned to train daily. It really helped to prevent that stiff achy feeling the next day.
After quietly exiting the building so as to not wake anyone, he ran his standard seven miles. He loved the country, the woods and especially the smell. It was nothing like home in Eastern Massachusetts—no traffic, sirens or rumbling trains. The country was very peaceful, serene. Being alone with his thoughts helped him to reflect on the important things in his life. He thought about Jillian, his parents, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He wondered what one-two-five marines were doing without him down near Charleston. He knew once this was over, here in bumfuck, West Virginia he would need to return to his Marine Reserve unit in the woods. He actually looked forward to it. He would have to return the parachute to VMM-744 when he got back. At least he had time to repack it. Finally, his thoughts returned to his wife and their unborn child. He thought about the dream the night before, how is sister told him she was going to have a nephew. He would remember that when they had the ultrasound. He wanted to know the gender now. Sure, it was fifty-fifty, but it would be a bit freaky if his dead sister told him in a dream he was going to have a boy and indeed the baby was a boy.
When his run was over, he returned to the second floor of the safe house to shower and get dressed for the day. Even at this hour most folks were still asleep. He looked at the new guy asleep on the couch as he crept through the living room. He didn’t want to disturb him. He grabbed a cigar and headed out onto the porch for a smoke and to appreciate the morning air.
I took three of my four children without on vacation to Hershey, PA this past week. My oldest daughter's HS started this past week and the wife remained home to get her to school. We visited Gettysburg Battlefield, Hershey Park and Chocolate World. It was a fun time.
