Right, to clear up any further confusion due to me:
@Lugubrious@harinezumikouken@Prince of Seraphs@Nytem4re, Gren planned for all of y'all to meet him at lunch, which originally was just the cafeteria, but on a whim I also had him meet up with Team CODE (So that includes you all, @floodtalon@MULTI_MEDIA_MAN@Abillioncats@Forsythe) at the deli just cause. This way Gren can introduce his Team to Grane, as well as invite them and Team CODE to the party he's going to try to throw for them after school and such. Additionally I'm debating if I can somehow involved Team RVGD in this growing clusterfuck because I'm a glutton for punishment.
And while no means a sub plot that I intend to push for, I did have it in my mind for Gren to try to get all the player teams together for a huge party, cause why not? Though it's also his way of trying to earn the hearts and mind of his fellow students and get Sapphire to open up to the group a bit more. Because if she doesn't then Gren could use this opportunity to establish a power base among the students to support him should he ever decide to overthrow Sapphire's current position of leadership.
Also while I know I'm late to that conversation, Sapphire isn't the only one who's strategically smart. Shiro might not be the brightest bulb but he's no dunce when it comes to fighting. Abel at least knows how to protect his people so when it comes to defensive strategies he'll be able to take care of the team. And for Gren? I don't know what Gren is good at, because it implies that I'm good at it. Instead of telling you what he's good at, I'm going to have him show you what he can do. But beside all of that, there's one power that Gren, Abel, and Shiro all have that Sapphire's skills and knowledge won't defeat: The Power of Friendship. She either needs to share that power with them, or she'll have to go without it.
-Bangs palms on table-
OBJECTION! I ARGUE THAT MY KUHAKU SHIRO CHARACTER IS BETTER AT THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP THAN GREN ORCHID! -Points finger, accusingly-
Yeah, most of my comments about leadership stem from my personal experiences in the U.S. Military. I've seen plenty of amazing, great leaders and just as many bad ones. I myself personally lead a small team of about...8-9 Marines for a good part of 3 years or so.
Now that hurts. She's not a bad leader just not much of people person.
Besides I think following someone with a grudge but knowing that they've got a good handle on things is better than following someone you trust and like and being unsure if he's going to lead you to safety or get you killed.
Now that I think about it that's sort of Sapphire's mentality as a leader. She's not popular but she gets the job done.
That's about the only thing Shiro knows that Sapphire has over him. She's far more calm, cool and collected. She's far more intelligent than him. But other than that, there's nothing else. My previous comments were nothing against her as a leader, but it doesn't hurt to have a little heart. A little compassion for her fellow man/woman/etc. Great boss, terrible friend. Terrible boss, great friend kind of thing.
Would I be wrong to say that within human nature, you'd be more inclined to listen to someone whom you admire and like? Or rather the leader who's a fucking jackass that you'd wish would suck-start a shotgun, but gets shit done and with an icy efficiency?
And what's this about him beating her in a match? This is sacrilege.
Shiro likes Abel as a good friend, but there isn't really much unique to say to him. Couldn't think of anything, honestly. -Clears throat-I wasn't...able...to.
As for Sapphire, well...I may or may not have mentioned it before. But, Shiro already believes somewhere in his mind that even he could be a better leader. Purely because he believes he is the one team member that heavily aids in keeping the team somewhat cohesive.
He knows he's not the brightest, but if he were to issue commands on the battlefield wouldn't Abel and Gren follow them without any grudges? Sure, doubts and second guesses. But I think Abel and Gren would have more faith in the furball than Sapphire. If Shiro and Sapphire were to ever throw down and he won, that would only strengthen his beliefs. Believing her to be unfit and undeserving of the role Ozpin assigned to her.
@Lugubrious Come back the Zelda RP Someone else wants to pick up Midna so if you're not sure your done this is your last chance with the Twilight Princess.
@harinezumikouken@Lucius Cypher Also I finally wrote out Sapphire's backstory in the Team Doc. It's a little bit generalized but you get the picture.
Intro: As Shiro walks up, his black stripes burn into existence. The golden color of his irises bleeding out as they changed into a glowing icy blue. With an inviting and warm smile, he respectfully bows his head towards his opponent. Straightening up, "Let's have a good, clean, and fun fight!" he then brandishes his weapons and assumes his combat stance.
Playstyle: Rushdown/Zoner
[RUSHDOWN] When his sword is separated from his shield, his focus is on moving in close to batter his opponents with fast and furious attacks. Using his shield to give himself breathing room if he needs to back off to recalculate the situation, alternating between sword and shield swings. With his sword slashes being light attacks, and his shield swings being heavy. Only when fighting in this Style can Shiro use his Shield Parry. Only in this style can Shiro reload his Shotshells.
[ZONER] If an opponent is too dangerous to be fighting up-close and personal, he can combine his trick weapon together to create his Great Axe. With his axe, he benefits from increased attack power and range that allow him to safely engage opponents at distance. As a downside, his attack animations are slower and are easily telegraphed. Only when fighting in this style can Shiro unlock a different moveset with 'Launcher' abilities. Cannot be reloaded with Shotshells when in this style.
Special Moveset:
Sword & Shield 1. Cool Boogie... - Shiro waits for a perceived opening and then does a wide sweep outward with his shield. If an enemy attacks within the small time frame of his feint, Shiro can counter the attack to open them up for a punishing strike. However, this move requires precise timing. If off by even a second or two, Shiro is instead left wide open. If successful, he moves in for a quick jab at the head with the edge of his shield to stun. With the extra time bought from the stun, he cocks back his sword for a powerful swing and slashes. Firing off a Dust Shotshell to enflame his sword and increase the damage. 2. Jazz Cat Funk! - During the sword swing animations of his combos, he can fire off shotshells mid-swing to throw off the predictable timing of his attacks and increase the overall damage per second. Plus, it just looks cool with blue flames bursting from his sword every so often. 3. One-two Step - Cocking back his sword arm and 'charging' his attack, he can fire off a Dust Shotshell and drive himself across the stage for a powerful slash. The longer this special is charged, the more damage it does. The special can be unleashed at any time so that he doesn't leave himself as wide open for too long. The obvious downsides being he's completely defenseless during the time he's charging and he can only travel in a straight line.
Great Axe 4. Golf swing - Fore! With his Great Axe, he rears its head back before a massive upward swing and firing a Dust Shotshell off for an extra fiery boost. The primary focus of this special is to launch opponents into the air before transitioning back into his Sword & Shield mode to close the distance with a flurry of aerial combos. 5. Spin to win - Expending his Dust Shotshells, he rapidly spirals back and forth across the stage in a flaming tornado of doom. A few seconds after the attack, he is left queasy and unable to attack. 6. Drop the Bass - Expending his Dust Shotshells with a massive swing, Shiro can cause an explosion in front of his attack that sends opponents flying should they be caught in the blast radius. Temporarily deafened by the blast, Shiro is left dazed and unable to attack for a few seconds.
V-Trigger:"By royal decree of the King!" - By building his 'meter' from taking hits and connecting strikes of his own, Shiro unleashes a morale shattering/bolstering roar. The effect is being twofold, affecting both his opponent and himself. For his opponents, their animation frames have been altered. Rather, it makes it difficult for them to put together their usual favorite combos, thanks to the animation times being randomly thrown off. For Shiro however, his animation speeds have only increased. Allowing him to conduct and string together combos much faster and easier. As an added bonus, all of his attacks can be canceled out of. Affording him the ability to pull together ridiculous chains that can quickly turn the tide of a difficult battle.
Whenever activated, his V-Trigger has a 10% chance of placing him into a 'Blood Frenzy' state. Losing control of himself, he wildly and uncontrollably swings and moves about the field in a panicked/crazed state. Subsequent V-Triggers where he goes into 'Blood Frenzy' increases the length of time exponentially each time.
Instant Kill:Stardust Curtana - In order to unlock this attack there are three prerequisites. One, he must be in V-Trigger. Two, he must successfully pull off and then cancel out of a Cool Boogie to leave the enemy stunned. Finally, immediately after canceling out of a Cool Boogie he must taunt with his weapons completely empty.
If all prerequisites have been met, then a special song will unlock and play in the background as the cutscene rolls. With a smirk on his face and a gleam in his eyes, Shiro will slam his weapons into the ground. Stripping all of the Dust Shotshells off his belt, he'll then toss them high into the air. Quickly picking up his weapons, he'll forcefully sheath Kladenets into Perun and transform it into its Great Axe form but halting it halfway through. Focusing his mind and spirit as hard as he possibly could, his Aura unlocks and begins to glow intensely. Blue flames radiating from his body brightly as the falling Dust Shotshells freeze in midair before they hit the ground. Seizing control of both his aura and of the Dust within the ammunition, the shells begin to swirl around him in rings as the Dust within is pulled towards the Incomplete Great Axe and collects along its shaft. Roaring fiercely, Shiro collects and mixes his aura with the Dust and forms a gargantuan Great Sword of Light. Rearing the massive blade over his head, he cuts through his foe and ends it with one slice. The empty Dust Shotshells floating around him finally dropping to the ground with a clatter.
Taunts: Taunt 1: Bashes the flat of his sword against the face of his shield to make a metallic racket, purely to annoy and distract. Taunt 2: Sheathes his weapons and slings them behind himself. Leans forward as he makes random faces and noises at the opponent, laughing in a mocking tone. Most commonly blows raspberries. Taunt 3: Sheathes his weapons and slings them behind himself. Turns around and sticks his butt out, smacking it at the opponent. With his head turned over his shoulder, he winks and makes a 'kissy' face as he smacks his butt. Taunt 4: Sheathes his weapons and slings them behind himself. He leans to one side of the screen and fails to cover his mouth as he yawns. Obviously very tired/bored/disinterested, he examines his hands and picks at his ears.
Win animations: Animation #1: Shiro breathes a sigh of relief, smiling. Sheathing his weapons and slinging them onto his back, he bows his head at his opponent out of respect. [If the fight was close] Animation #2: Laughing, he jumps up and down out of excitement. Almost dancing before slamming his weapons into the ground and standing in a triumphant pose, two fingers stuck out in a 'V' as a sign of victory. [If the fight was one-sided, towards his favor] Animation #3 vs Sangue Naga: Kneeling down on both knees, Shiro lays down his sword with the edge towards himself. Palms of his hands down flat in front of him, he bows and touches his head to the ground. Animation #4 vs Sapphire Rode: Speechless and expressionless, he sheathes his weapons and slings them onto his back. Turning, he walks away. Animation #5 vs Gren Orchid: Drops his weapons with a clatter and dramatically crawls away, heavily panting and gasping for breath. A look of absolute terror and disbelief on his face, eyes wide. Animation #6 vs Gratia Mindaro: Shudders as he visibly shakes in his boots, a shiver shooting up his spine. Teeth chattering slightly. Slowly turning around, he carefully walks away. Checking over his shoulder every other step. Twitchy, jumpy, and nervous before finally just darting away in a sprint.
Win Quotes: vs. Sangue Naga - "I sense a great deal of duty and honor within you. May we duel again in the future." vs. Lucas Schwarze - "Looks like I win again. Huh, maybe I do need to fight you with a handicap..." vs. Robert Fallson - "I can beat you BOTH in the real world AND video games! Hah! Speaking of which, you wanna go to the arcade after school?" vs Sapphire Rode - "..." vs Gren Orchid - "I. CAN'T. BELIEVE. I'M. ALIVE!" vs Gratia Mindaro - "Y-you...Need a hug. Or therapy. Or both. N-not from me though. I-I mean...Uhh...BYE!"
Alternate costume/voice packs! Paternal Memento - With this alternative costume/voice pack selected, Shiro is clearly older. Taller, more muscular, and with an even deeper tone of voice. His silver white hair is so long that it reaches the small of his back. In this costume, he's missing his right eye and wears an eyepatch over it. The rest of his clothing being a sort of form-fitting bodysuit and his cowl modified to no longer having a hood. No effect on gameplay, purely aesthetic changes.
Alternate Universe - With this alternative costume/voice pack selected, Shiro is female. She has a sweet, alluring voice and does battle in a white tank top with a blue button-up over it in blue jeans. No effect on gameplay, purely aesthetic changes.
This^. Remember everyone, we're at 10 participants right now. If we get four more entrants (looking at you Harine) we can proceed to the final stage of rewards.
