Why can't Shiro speak to Sapphire :(

And what's this about him beating her in a match? This is sacrilege.

Sorry, I was still thinking. You should go ahead, at this point I don't think Ebon would interrupt. If Mokuran and Sepia made things any more awkward then maybe Ebon might step in. But if he came across this scene right now and heard what Mokuran said he wouldn't really do anything, since he would know that Mokuran isn't trying to hurt Skyra, she's just confused at the feelings she is having.

Also Ebon would be reading both your minds to figure out what just happened, so he'll be quick on the uptake if he needs to know what happened.

I'm just going to write something for Ebon heading to lunch.

Have you ever got some Kenwood speakers, turned the Mixer up to maximum, and then played First of the Year on top of Raining Blood?

That's what Mokuren's mind would be like.

Unless Mokuran is incapable of thinking herself, Ebon's telepathy only picks up surface level thoughts. He can't go rooting around for memories. But he can tell how your mind is somewhat working, discerning mood, motives, internal monologues, and focus. If he asks you what your name was, even if you don't tell him he should be able to pick it up if you think your name for even a moment. I liken his power sort of like Nodoka from Negima, though he doesn't need a book or multiple artifacts.

@Stein Was alluding to the figure behind Delta possibly being Vixi. I presumed that V arrived at Beacon during History class, but if that messes up what you had planned, I'll gladly edit the post.
EDIT:
I just realized some of us are passing the 600-ish mark of registering on RPG after guildfall.. -nostalgia ensues-

I lied. Ebon will stick around Skyra and Mokuran just to see what happens. Anyone is free to come find and bother him.

Everything that Mokuren hears inspires a branch of sub-thoughts, that could range from the Pride of the Cheese-Men to how that sounds like someone getting cut in half with a very sharp sword. There is a chance one of those thoughts might relate to the topic at hand, but there would be several other thoughts at the same time. Mokuren herself has managed to distance herself so it is simply a mildly irritating buzzing noise, but reading her mind, even suface thoughts, could be jarring.

@Lugubrious Come back the Zelda RP Someone else wants to pick up Midna so if you're not sure your done this is your last chance with the Twilight Princess.

@harinezumikouken @Lucius Cypher Also I finally wrote out Sapphire's backstory in the Team Doc. It's a little bit generalized but you get the picture.

Shiro likes Abel as a good friend, but there isn't really much unique to say to him. Couldn't think of anything, honestly. -Clears throat-I wasn't...able...to.

As for Sapphire, well...I may or may not have mentioned it before. But, Shiro already believes somewhere in his mind that even he could be a better leader. Purely because he believes he is the one team member that heavily aids in keeping the team somewhat cohesive.

He knows he's not the brightest, but if he were to issue commands on the battlefield wouldn't Abel and Gren follow them without any grudges? Sure, doubts and second guesses. But I think Abel and Gren would have more faith in the furball than Sapphire. If Shiro and Sapphire were to ever throw down and he won, that would only strengthen his beliefs. Believing her to be unfit and undeserving of the role Ozpin assigned to her.

Now that hurts. She's not a bad leader just not much of people person.

Besides I think following someone with a grudge but knowing that they've got a good handle on things is better than following someone you trust and like and being unsure if he's going to lead you to safety or get you killed.

Now that I think about it that's sort of Sapphire's mentality as a leader. She's not popular but she gets the job done.

Sounds like something she needs to show IC, her ability to get things done.

Should be interesting to watch it all play out.

Also I'm hoping to get a Napoli post up tonight or tomorrow morning.

That's about the only thing Shiro knows that Sapphire has over him. She's far more calm, cool and collected. She's far more intelligent than him. But other than that, there's nothing else. My previous comments were nothing against her as a leader, but it doesn't hurt to have a little heart. A little compassion for her fellow man/woman/etc. Great boss, terrible friend. Terrible boss, great friend kind of thing.

Would I be wrong to say that within human nature, you'd be more inclined to listen to someone whom you admire and like? Or rather the leader who's a fucking jackass that you'd wish would suck-start a shotgun, but gets shit done and with an icy efficiency?

Neither actually, I'd much rather just follow myself.

To be fair, a very large part of leadership is being able to actually make people follow you. You can do that through respect, fear, or money. Given that Beacon students don't get paid, that leaves pretty much all team leaders with respect or fear. And the latter would get you kicked out of Beacon if you managed to terrify three people about as tough as you are to such a point that they listened to you.

You absolutely need to be able to lead effectively, but brewing resentment within a team is a surefire way to cause a problem later. This is all IC, of course, so we could argue this until the cows come home, but there's definitely a point to be made about a leader being able to make those under their command want to follow them.

Yeah, most of my comments about leadership stem from my personal experiences in the U.S. Military. I've seen plenty of amazing, great leaders and just as many bad ones. I myself personally lead a small team of about...8-9 Marines for a good part of 3 years or so.

Not saying there's anything wrong with that. It's a valid and more than likely right opinion but Sapphire hasn't figured that out yet. She thinks as long as she's a capable leader and competent enough to get the mission done with a degree of precision and her team home alive and more or less uninjured then she's doing her job correctly. The idea that she also has to inspire the troops isn't one that she's particularly fond of or considers necessary.
