Sneasel VS Magnemite

Given all of the events prior, Ian had naturally stepped forward with the others albeit less vocally. Facing a grunt that seemed a bit greener than the others. Given the fact that Ian was easily the greenest of the trainers here, his Sneasel only hatching a few days prior to this event, perhaps it was just destiny for them to be eachothers' opponents.

"So, are we going to battle or are you just going to stare at me?" The grunt asked, his nerves thickly concealed by a confident tone. He sent out a Magnemite, and was pleased to see Ian send out an ice type like Sneasel. "Oh, good. For a moment I thought I'd be at a disadvantage."

The one thing Ian immediately noted about the Magnemite was the small item in between one of its magnets. "Oh, you like that huh? It's a quick claw, so despite the usual difference in speed..." The grunt trailed off before deciding to demonstrate. "Magnemite, use tackle!" Sneasel couldn't even react before the metal Pokemon slammed into her, that kind of speed shouldn't have been possible. The sudden change in mood as the Magnemite floated cockily near Sneasel as she picked herself up. Her smirk seemed to anger the grunt a fair bit as he tensed up and called out to his Pokemon

"Magnemite, hit it with another Tackle!" This time however, it was too late, Sneasel had already retreated and easily dodged the attack that was much slower than before. "What? There's no way! Magnemite's quick claw should have-" The grunt stopped as he saw Sneasel holding the item in question. "b-but how?"

"Pickpocket." Ian explained. He knew that with that item out of the way Sneasel wouldn't have to worry about being outsped, the grunt's lack of experience showed in his insistence on explaining his ace in the hole. "Alright, fine. I didn't want to have to do this but...Gyro ball!" The grunt shouted. As the Magnemite began to spin it also glowed brightly. Sneasel attempted to dodge, but at this range it was nearly impossible. Given her speed though, she did manage to evade taking the attack head on. "Sneasel!" Ian exclaimed as his Pokemon was thrown several feet into the air. She managed to land back on her feet albeit a bit shakily, she jumped back quickly and forced some distance between herself and her opponent.

"Do it again!" The grunt shouted, but from the distance she was keeping a slow move like that would be almost impossible to land. Maintaining the range between them, Sneasel could easily keep in this fight.

Ian stared blankly at the grunt that was glaring angrily at him. The real battle however, was between Sneasel and said grunt's Magnemite. The former had already dodged two more attempts at gyro ball and the latter seemed about as frustrated as a metal ball with one eye could be.

"Ice punch." Ian said in a bored tone. It wasn't that he was terribly confident that Sneasel could beat a Pokemon whose typing was easily a counter to her own, no. It was just that Sneasel was intense enough at this point for the two of them in this battle. The second she heard his command, her claw emitted a blue glow and she charged directly in. "Hah, we've got you this time! Gyro ball!" The grunt shouted. "The ground." Ian said, his Pokemon knowing exactly what he meant. Sneasel slammed her icy claw into the ground shattering the tile and erecting a small chunk of ice between her and her opponent.

The Magnemite easily smashed through the defense just to find that its opponent had seemingly vanished. Particles of dust and ice showered down on the steel type pokemon creating a veil of mist as it glanced around to find Sneasel.

"Leer." Ian said as her eyes pierced through the veil of ice and dust created by the impact. The affected Magnemite backed up slightly, its defenses lowered. Now, Ice punch.

This time, the claw connected with its original target pushing the Magnemite out of the mist and back into its trainers view. "Magnemite, there it is! Use thunderbolt!" The grunt shouted. Sneasel braced herself preparing for an impact that simply didn't come, opening her eyes the reason why was pretty clear. In the center of a solid block of ice was the grunt's magnemite, frozen by her ice punch.

Using a potion on Sneasel, Ian watched as the grunt sprinted out of the center after returning his Magnemite.
@ADamnFiddle I'm sure Jiru wouldn't abuse an ability like that...>.>
Alright, I'm writing a post right now. Expect it soon. I'm really glad we aren't doing showdown for this battle though. Magnemite vs Sneasel? *laughs nervously*
@Rune_Alchemist I just noticed, now that I finally put Jiru in the character section, that you really did put stealing undergarments in Tsuihō's bio XD.

I'm thinking of actually writing out a post for Jiru and tacking it on to what I just posted, I was kinda focused on just getting a post out for Ryan so I really didn't think about Jiru.
@Lunarlors34 You really really seem to like that picture.
Ryan Dreane

"Boy, do you know this girl?" Came the gruff voice of the 'demihuman'. With a gulp, Ryan managed to choke back his intimidation. Maria being right there certainly didn't hurt, while she was certainly smaller than Grian she was the commander of a group of knights, so he was willing to bet the way she carried herself wasn't just for show.

"Nope, never seen her before in my life." Ryan said honestly. "But I'd definitely like to ask you to let her go so I can speak to her if you don't mind, from what she's saying we seem to be in pretty much the same situation." Ryan spoke as politely as possible, the situation still seemed delicate and if the demihuman hadn't spoken to him directly he would have kept his mouth shut and let Maria do all of the talking.

He was certainly more inclined to believe Chieko than he was Grian given the fact that she likely hadn't even been in Lugnica any longer than he had, and she definitely seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick when it came to the first person she had met. It wouldn't have made much sense for someone in her situation to have been provoking an armed individual that was much larger than she was. From what Chieko had said though, it was good that Maria had walked up when she did.
@6slyboy6@ADamnFiddle I'll work out a post in a few.
@6slyboy6@Rune_Alchemist On the moral side, Chieko would be a bit easier to believe in this situation. Maria meeting Ryan before this also means that she can tell that Chieko isn't lying about suddenly appearing in the world.
I'm conflicted as to whether I should or shouldn't do the same.

@OtomostheCrazy@LuckyBlackCat

"Nope, what'd you-" Rheese started to respond before noticing that Sophia was soaked. After quickly inspecting his Pokeball to be completely certain Wooper wasn't there he let out a sigh. "I'm going to guess it's a water type. They uh, seem to like to do...well, that." He said lightly chuckling, now he knew someone shared his pain.

Taking another sip from the Styrofoam cup of coffee he had gotten earlier. It wasn't particularly good, but it was better than nothing. Rheese was glad that Sophia had come back, this meant that he wouldn't have to attempt to go with Alexis to the gym...but he would probably be treated to a bit of arguing between the two. Heh, well he'd be lying if he said it didn't sound entertaining.

"They probably have some towels you can use. This works out great, now I don't have to go wi- I mean now we can all go to the gym as a group."
Rheese said feigning a smile. As much as he'd love to berate Alexis, it probably wouldn't be very wise. Truth be told, he was a bit nervous about meeting this town's gym leader. From the sounds of things he favored his personal image above the well being of the town, which really didn't bode well for a gym battle. He could probably expect Vincent to go full force despite dealing with new trainers.
