@Bright_Ops

the king is offering a bounty of two hundred and fifty thousand gold to any group that can provide solid evidence of this strange army.

While it is possible to interpret it as "Everyone that brings the evidence gets that sum", the use of 'any' as opposed to 'every' should at least imply that the bounty is a first come first serve deal.

That and the fact that it would be incredibly exploitable otherwise...y'know if you just split into pairs and each gave the same info each of you would get the 250k.

(At the bare minimum, duplicate information would not be accepted)
@SukuThat's totally fine, I understand completely.

"Trial by combat? A bit barbaric, but...If bringing her along is such a big issue it may be the best option. Though it would be unfair to just toss her into it out of the blue. She's likely a bit malnourished after hiding all this time after all." Troe said approaching the newcomer. Glaring a bit at Kieran for his carefree comments in this situation, he sighed. "If this were a military vessel all three of you would likely be tossed overboard. But thanfkully this isn't a dictatorship, or really a democracy for that matter. We're an alliance, not a nation. That being said..." Troe's expression softened a bit "I know you've been harassed quite a bit, but I have to ask your name and purpose here."

Stowaway or not, it would be wrong to deny her the chance to plead her case. After all, they were simply adventurers chasing a bounty, not any type of official force. The only problem he really saw was that the bounty that many on the ship were after was essentially a race. If some other group of adventurers got there first and came back with the needed information...well there wasn't any type of consolation prize. Not that Troe cared, he had essentially forfeited the bounty before even boarding the ship.

@dabombjk Timeskip the unimportant bits. Also, neither of our characters have much (if any) experience with melee combat which is half of our group so training wouldn't be super simple. I like the trial by combat idea though. Give her two days to prepare and have our other spear user train her...

Though there's one other issue as Levias said, we're scouting, so time is of the essence...there's also the issue of us not being the only ones after that bounty.
@Bright_Ops

We do happen to have another lance/spear user on board for training and such. I'm going to let Dabomb post before I do anything, I'm sure someone else would also probably intervene though.
@Bright_Ops

That being said, Kieran is still an idiot.
@Bright_Ops A few days, they'd have to go around Airi.

Also, I totally understand Artyom's thought process in this situation as a soldier, though it doesn't make Kieran wrong either. It should certainly be put to a vote. The kicker here is that all three of them have seen what the things from the Abyss can do. They also likely realize that fighting them head on in such a small group would be suicide for even the most highly trained warriors.

I'd also like to mention that Ade claimed to have been trained in the basics, which is pretty much the average here. If anything it'd be more prudent to refine her fighting style.

"For your information I know plenty about weapons. I worked for people who fought practically daily. They taught each of us the basics of weapon use. How to clean them, sharpen them, repair them, and obviously how to use them."

@Bright_Ops

Glad we're in agreement there.

"Interestingly enough, that's pretty similar to my own idea." Troe said, clearly pleased that he wasn't the only one with that line of thought.

"Though, there is one difference from what I was thinking. I'd have to see whatever these things are to confirm it, but I believe it's linked to the few side notes I found in that book. It mentioned something of a space between worlds that is devoid of any light. It wasn't anything substantial, but the way some people described these things and the darkness they brought along with them just seemed to click. I just have to actually get a good look myself...and maybe find that book if that's even possible."

Troe looked toward where one of the other people that had come along was talking about forcing people to do things and votes and such. He didn't really understand what that was all about, but he did see a girl that he hadn't before they left.

"Err...Excuse me, what's going on now?" He asked the three that were arguing.
@Bright_Ops

Gonna go ahead and say that @alexfangtalon isn't in any way obligated to change their class.
