And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Hello to you who are reading this!

I'm Hekazu and I am horrible with titles. Welcome to the second edition of my 1x1 interest check, where I have shifted a few plots around, removed some and brought in new ones. I'm not looking for too many partners for the time being, but don't hesitate to contact me! It is very likely that there is still a spot for one more! You know, like with turns in civilization or crisps from a bag!
More about me

Since I believe it's important to be aware what sort of a person you are playing with to avoid potential problems, have a bullet point list of facts about me:
  • I am a married man in my early twenties from Finland.
  • I obviously am not a native English speaker, been studying it since first year of school and always got good grades though.
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, so I draw a lot of things from there.
  • I sleep like a vampire, so my hours of activity might not be exactly what is expected from CEST (GMT +3). If I could fathom a guess, I'd say I'm most active between 22-4 local time.
  • I reply to RPs in the order of the replies that have come to me, in the time that I have. Usually this means you can get multiple in a day if you do not have competition, but sometimes it also means it can take me days to respond when (ir)responsibilities and backlog strike simultaneously.
  • Post length... I tend to mirror my partners. More about that later.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!

Requirements

Requirements... that's such a harsh word. But on the other hand I do believe it is appropriate, since if they are not met I will more than likely lose interest. Thus, here we are:

1. Mostly looking for female characters right now. If I like RPing with you, I may consider other sort of things later. Exception will be specifically noted.
2. As the title says, 18+ is indeed the requirement. For everything in this check. No exceptions. I seek to better myself in writing mature scenes.*
3. As one could potentially derive from point 2, no fading to black either.
4. That being said, the fact that we'll play via PM should be evident by now. If you have off-site suggestions, I'll hear them out but I usually don't wander far from here.
5. Please do provide me material to work with. While I can make do with two paragraphs for a time, anything less than that will probably kill my interest, as will two for long stretches. 3+ paragraphs would thus be a good rule of thumb. As I mostly mirror, I've observed myself going up to 8.
6. Contributions to the plot are not only appreciated, they are expected.
7. I mentioned my posting frequency. If yours matches up, that's great. I can't wait a week per post.
8. The usual. No controlling my character without prior consent, third person, nothing that's banned sitewide.
9. For the love of Bahamut, Chauntea, Deneir and Talos, the unending hatred of Orcus and Zargon as well as the might of Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion, if you are having to drop the RP or think I did something wrong, speak up! I've had too many partners simply vanish without a trace. I'll be sure to inform you, so I'd appreciate returning the gesture.
10. Lastly, but surely as no surprise to anyone, you should have basic knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling. Feel free to ask "Weird Al" Yankovic what he thinks about it if you have the time.

*:Despite point 2, any such scenes need to be progressed to naturally. No usual VN "and here's the H scene!"/"and then they did the sex" tomfoolery. Some RPs get to it faster, some slower.

Phew, that's that out of the way! If you are still around, let's get to the plots I have in mind.
The reason you are here, probably

Different gender plot bases (MxF)

Same sex stuff (FxF)

The flexible ones (MxF/FxF)

Closing note: Preferably contact me via PM. If you post into this thread, while I'll eventually notice it, I'll just ask you to do so. Let's cut the extra step, shall we?
Does Torus have enough time to exchange verbosities with the Father before taking a much needed long rest?

Long rest? Oh, the final surprise will be here faster than that. Besides, not the whole long rest needs to be sleeping, one can easily have a discussion during one.
Derrick set on his attempt of procuring whatever it was inside the wooden chest hopefully wholly intact and brought the halberd down on the right side of the container. The first hit had been too careful, even a box as weak as this did not seem to have much more than a slight dent in it. The second hit brought the sound of cracking wood to the mixture of sounds as the shoddy construction seemed to be giving way. The third and the final hit nearly blasted the right side of the chest off, sending it on a brief flight to the distance of about a metre away. With it, something had flown out, but a quick inspection revealed that another item remained within.

The one on the floor was a brass locket, housing an inscription that was difficult to read in this light as well as a piece of parchment folded many times over. Once opened, it looked like a hastily drawn picture of a young man, made with nothing more than an ink pen. Then when it came to the contents of the chest, the item seemed to be a little stuck but a brisk pull brought it out of it's wooden prison. It was a ring, housed within a (now slightly damaged) transparent crystal box. Seemed valuable, silver with several purple gems embedded, not to mention the box it was in.

It took some time before any response was given from the other side of the old sewer tunnel door. Some of the civilians were already getting nervous which had Mr. Lake and Father Falconmoon trying to calm them down, all the while the old druid and the younger priestess had their hushed discussion. The aforementioned discussion had not yet completely reached it's end point as the locks on the door gave their clicking response and the wooden barrier slowly crept away from it's closed position. It seemed as if the people inside were not willing to open it fully by themselves for some reason. But given the locks were out of the way, the door was no obstacle any longer.

Having already seen the methods employed by the "guards" of this door, the people originally sent on this rescue mission could probably tell what it was. The small group resorted to stealth, thus they probably wanted to maintain the element of surprise in case an enemy had made it this far. As soon as the unmistakable figure of the paladin pulled the door further open and stood visible in the doorway, those nearby could hear a snapping of fingers, the sheathing of a blade and see as someone in dark clothes and a mask walked into the meagre light, gesturing the group to head inside. The two of his friends refused to show for one reason or another, but there was no reason not to believe they were there somewhere.

As the rescued denizens of the town of Greenest began pouring inside, Torus and Kyra had plenty of time to finish their discussion, gathering some curious looks from passersby, especially from father Falconmoon who had this strange feeling of something being... off with the older man. Deciding not to make a big fuss out of it now, the old priest made a mental note to have a chat with the man at some point during this night. For now, he made sure his flock made it in.

Back in the keep, not much had changed in their absence. A familiar face was admitting citizens into the keep, that being sergeant Longwater. He tried to catch the attention of the rescue party with a wave and did his best to gesture them to stay around, but the group of people around him made this somewhat difficult to see. To those that did notice and take heed of the suggestion, he shared the following news: "The governor thanks you for all your work. Did you happen to catch any attackers on the way? ...no? Well as the big man himself said it, while that sure would've been nice, what you've already done is more than we could've ever hoped for. Rest well for the rest of the night... given they don't seem to be even preparing for a breach, there should be little trouble to be anticipated."

But in the end, the night held yet one more surprise, one that came by mere hour or two before he morning sun shone on the Greenest in flames...

No, it is probably for the better if I provide the explanation of whether the box breaks and if it does, what is inside. If you believe the attempt not to be an IC post worthy event (which I personally think it could be), just confirm with me whether you are going to try it and I'll describe the process in my post.
@Dusksong
It does not look too sturdy. You can try throwing it, it'll either work or not work.
While the only man of the group moved to rummage through the pile of fabric, the women approached the larger door. It didn't seem to be locked and a brisk shove indeed caused it to creak on it's hinges as it opened into another hallway. There were no lights in that corridor, thus leaving most of what they otherwise could have seen into the darkness, but judging by the piling of dust and a slight windy breeze coming towards them, there was some connection to the outside over here. An all too familiar blue light was barely visible at some distance into the hallway where the roof probably should have been, but no sign of the creature itself for now. As a matter of fact, the light seemed to be dimming even further now and had they not noticed it earlier they surely would not have done so now.

As for what Derrick found, hidden beneath the cloth which barely had recognisable colour at this point lied a flimsy wooden chest. This one was locked though and the lock looked sturdy enough and they had no winged monsters slamming things open for them this time... although that was probably for the better, given there no longer would be a cell door between them. The chest was unwieldy to lift, but surprisingly light as Derrick raised it to judge what it might contain based on weight.

Yah, seems about right. I'll try to get it done quick, but unfortunately cannot make promises... I've got many things to do.
So long as only our characters need memorize it, @Hekazu. As in, we're allowed to look back to our posts. Hah.

I do believe I specified your characters, not you as the players, so sure, go as far as back as you believe the paladin protecting Greenest, Ashkar Brannor, might remember
