And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Dyn glared intently at the frozen wolf with his main eye, but the others did turn around to try and keep him informed of all that was going on. A few of the crew members played around in the rigging, hopping into the crow's nest with only incoherent babbling following. Ugh, get a room, we are in the middle of a battle here. Other things he noted were Shivs promising to handle the drakes if his magic failed, which it naturally would not do, given it was his, and Koan taking the control of the ship. Hopefully she knew what she was doing, in addition to sounding confident about it.

But the most important thing he had to remark was the negotiation between the wolf, the gnome wizard Eliza and by extension the captain who gave her the okay to lower the barrier around the creature. Dyn's mouth curled from his usual sneer to a wicked smile as he recognised how the wolf conceded to being outsmarted, although the anger in its voice made Dyn quite distrusting towards it, especially since it had said "we shall see". Not a good sign. As much as he would have liked to hold a spell ready to throw at the wolf, he could not do so without interrupting the tentacles he had sent out earlier, so he simply remained on his place, staring.

Theodore had anticipated some sort of a retaliatory strike, but would not have dared guess his actions to bring two of the birds against him. Now that they were kicking and pecking and clawing at him however, he scolded himself for not being prepared enough for it. The massive ravens were ruthless in their attack, but something was not quite right. No matter how hard the attacks stung, his body did not give in. No wounds appeared, no blood was spilled. It was just as it had been with the shadows back at home. Were these birds some similar creation of darkness?

As he was busy being manhandled by his adversaries, his allies acted to help him and, judging by the voices he could hear, Cesar who had been unfortunate enough to draw the ire of the remaining bird. He could not see beyond the bird he had weighed with his newfound divine knowledge, so whatever it was that happened there for now was not anything he'd really know. However, eventually a familiar fur covered companion of his came crashing to the side of the wounded bird, clawing at its body, only to reduce it into an explosion of darkness and some clinking thing, which she quickly picked up in the process. "The early cat catches the bird, huh?" Theodore quipped as a Scorching Ray struck the bird keeping a hold on him.

Theodore chose this to be his moment, attempting to escape from the clutches of this bigger-than-usual avian, but was distracted by the loud bang Cesar's voice made, leaving his attempt half-hearted at best. While he could feel Wick's magic wearing the raven down, it still managed to keep hold of him, making the situation even more hazardous. If it were to take flight, even if it was killed after, he would fall. And after that beatdown, he was not too sure of he could take it.

There were little precious options for the templar, so he chose to drop his crossbow and draw one of his two blades, as well as staring right into the creature's very being. If it was to take him to the sky, it would get something back from him in return. But Theodore dared yet hope his allies could spare him from such a fate. Katia had climbed into the tree he had chosen as his cover, but could not quite reach to grab. Perhaps she was up to something?

@JBRam2002 - A few words were spoken to Katia
The heavy clanking of metal boots made it clear to the adventurers that someone was approaching the cell they had taken into use. A moment of listening later it became evident that it was not just someone, but a group of people. The footfalls were way too frequent to belong to a single man, even one as short as Escobert. And soon enough from beyond the corner marched Sergeant Longwater, flanked by four guardsmen who in turn were followed by more heavily armed men protecting a single figure. Governor Nighthill himself graced the catacombs with his presence.

"A simple second, milord", Longwater requested of him and approached the adventurers as the other people in tow slowed down. "Have you begun yet?" he asked, but as he peeked into the room he received his answer without anyone saying a word. He pulled his head back and took a puzzled look at the adventurers, the glimpsed back into the room, especially at the floating ball of water, and then back at the people again. His expression said it all: 'What the hell?'

He was relatively quick to collect himself however and gestured at the rest of the people to follow. "It is a small room, probably only I and the Governor can make it in with all that's going on", he instructed the other guards before he marched in. He laid a single venomous glance at the still blindfolded raider, but walked to Torus and whispered into the Druid's ear: "We are not common bandits. We do not start interrogations with torture, alright? Put that away." With that said, he removed his gauntleted hand from his shoulder and sprang to attention as the Governor walked into the room.

Nighthill nodded mutely, both signalling the adventurers to go on with their business as well as relaying the unspoken 'at ease' command to his sergeant. Longwater held a firm grip on the handle of his blade, standing slightly off to the side of the Governor so that he could see and hear unobstructed, but so that the guard himself was ready to lash out if any threat arose. But as things were, there would probably be nothing to worry about.

All the while this was going on, the prisoner shook her head under the steady dripping water, awakening from her unconscious state, only to find out she couldn't move. "Well, shit", she muttered accompanied by the clinking of the chains the priestess had affixed. As she settled down, she could hear a female voice talking to her. The voice demanded to know who had sent the attack here, why Greenest of all places... and indeed the most pressing question of them all: Why?

The chained woman shook her head again, trying to get the makeshift blindfold off her eyes, but did not have much luck with the motion. "Another chance you say? Being captured does not usually mean such things now, does it? But I know not how much I could ever use it. The Cult of the Dragon will not look kindly upon those who leave... and I have no intention of doing so. We are too close. The great hoard that will usher the reign of the Queen of Dragons is almost complete. Greenest was but one more place for us to gather treasure." Having spoken those words, she closed her mouth, ignoring the question about her leader. But after all, the people of Greenest knew more than they had known before.

In that case I'll get to writing my post. Might take me a while, but it should be out tomorrow!
@Norschtalen
I do trust in your abilities to play said man. Besides, they are more integral to your personal story than the plot in general, at least when compared to Falconmoon, so feel free to keep control of Kyra's father.
The beat of its spectral wings brought the Jailor ever closer to Mistletoe, all the while its gargoyles kept an unbreaking watch over Kenza. "Do not run from me, fragile one", it echoed at the hunter it had just injured. "You only prolong the inevitable." The shackles it carried clinked as they shook with each beat of wing, but before it quite reached the one of elven blood, it turned to look back and made a quick evasive move to the left. It had heard the shelves starting to fall and avoided them to its best.

Even the gargoyles were momentarily distracted by the sudden jolt of their master, but quickly set back on guarding Kenza... or chasing after her, if she decided to run. As for Mistletoe, the Jailor seemed suddenly disinterested in her, instead turning to face the location from where the shelves had begun tumbling down. "I see. Prepare yourself", it declared in as a matter-of-fact tone as a spectral echoing voice at all could and began its flight towards Derrick.

The rumble of the bookshelves soon reached the final one, sending the final domino piece crashing down on the mutilated carcass of the spider that had once called this library its home. Undoubtedly the same structure would crush many of the smaller arachnids, but as evidenced by the amounts of them that began pouring out from underneath, that was hardly all of them. They had been startled.

@Dusksong@Lord of Evil
I'm currently working on a short collab with Norshtalen between Kyra and Parum. Hopefully we'll have it done by today.

Very well, I will wait for that before going onwards.
@Gordian Nought
Morning is not shining its radiance upon Greenest for a few hours more. If the part of your post that implies otherwise could be changed or omitted, that would be great.

Is there anyone else who would like to have a word in before I post her response to these threats?
Welcome to the guild, local man ruining everything! Or @Ahab at Sea, whichever you happen to prefer.

As far as I've seen there's a bit less of the advanced side on the 1x1 department, but I'm pretty sure if you set up your own check you'd find people interested. I hope you have a good time here!
