And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Dyn'yer'zhead, Jill, Nemiea and Cynthia were the first of the crew to arrive to the bar, though the Beholder was rather sure Koan could figure they would be here, if only to annoy him with her presence. Prior to the arrival of the other folk, the four engaged in idle chatter, their subjects drifting from drink recommendations (Ladybones Road was the best drink out there, if one asked Dyn. Who would not want a drink with over half of it being pure alcohol with cucumber and lime for added taste?) to future plans through a quick summery of everyone's abilities to the newcomer.

Eventually the rest arrived and Dyn presented their map to the table. After a passing mention of how they could turn this endeavour into even more profit if they gave it a bit of time, they got to taking a more thorough look at the map itself, the Beholder insisting to be the one to manipulate the projection. Their boat naturally did not appear on the map on its own, but with a quick comparison of the landmarks they had seen on approach, it was easy enough to locate it in the opposite direction of the stream. They would be staying the night here most likely... with the exception of the newcomer Dyn had actually had some hope for and the ghost of a pirate to make sure she would be believed back at the ship.

The rest spent some time drafting their route for the next day, but eventually chose to leave the bulk of the work for the time they would actually be out there since then they stood a chance of remembering what direction they were supposed to take. The rough draft gave them a sense of direction though. "I will need to prepare a different array of spells for tomorrow... I've mine prepared for fighting from a ship, not under water", Dyn shared, expecting others to agree with him to take a longer rest. Besides, the kobold was bleeding. That was a vote he could easily count for him.
Theodore could not be sure whether he had hit on the first shot, but he knew for a fact that the big thing was now threatening Thea to the best of its ability. He cranked the crossbow's reload mechanism with as much speed as he could muster, pulling the string back and placing another bolt onto it before shouting the same words that Thea had mumbled: "علامة هنتر"

He raised his crossbow towards the flailing monstrosity of a shadow, the creature both blinded by Birbin's magic as well as made vulnerable by Theodore's abilities. The bulk of the creature allowed him to avoid shooting at Thea even if the shadow did happen to be behind her from his point of view and as soon as he could be sure of his aim he let the bolt loose. And this time there was no question whether the shot would hit or not. "Focus fire! Take it down!" he bellowed as his hands darted back to the loading crank once more.

@JBRam2002 - Your turn!
The Ragnarov Fleet members have left Vasishka behind to return to their own area in space.
Hello @fluexim, and welcome to the guild!

I shall now accept your challenge. Fisticuffs at dawn?
We have our own topic now! Yay for us!
In case you happen to be wondering what Ragnarov Fleet is...

Hello and welcome to the Exploitation Zone of the Ragnarov Fleet! As the title might suggest, we are not exactly very welcoming of newcomers, but get your papers in order and nothing will go wrong (that means discussing it here in the OOC)!

Current areas of interest:
  • Universal Nova, the giant artificial planet at the centre point.
  • The Titan, one of the faction's critical points, is currently here near Universal Nova.
On Universal Nova, a certain member of the council was enjoying some time for themselves at a club when ACASIAS contacted them out of the blue. "Please excuse the interruption Duke, but as the representative of Internal security..." The voice modulated message of the supercomputer was shushed by Virne waving his hand and rising up from his chair, leaving those who had joined the celebrations in his table briefly wondering what had happened.

"I am sorry ladies and gentlemen, but my duties call. Another time, perhaps?" he excused himself and headed outside. Once the sign of the club he had left from was no longer in sight, he reopened the discussion with ACASIAS. "So what is it? What has happened now? Has the leak spread yet? And was it a freelancer unit?" he bombarded the AI with questions, who easily kept up by responding to each as it received them. Soldiers dead. Killed by allies. Contained. In a way. The combination of them suggested a certain option, something that had him stop in his tracks for a moment. "You are telling me...", he began, not even bothering to finish. The answer was yes.

As soon as the vessel the group of diplomats were using to return from Vasishka had passed the third surveillance and counter-surveillance vessel, their radio burst to life. It came as a surprise to none of the council: The perimeter that had just been passed was the outermost layer council level confidential material could be sent over communications... the one all returning vessels knew to dread if there had been any protocol breaches. Creft opened the link and was unsurprised to find a familiar metal man staring at him from the video feed on the screen.

"I had heard that there are now two dead guards on your vessel, the cause of which being from inside the ranks of our Fleet. You must be aware that this means I will be starting and leading this investigation, yes?" Duke Virne requested confirmation in a tone much sterner than in which one usually heard the man speak in. If they could not explain this well, they could be in trouble.

"I deny nothing of the sort, Duke. The attacker has been identified and contained-" Creft began his reply, only to see the Duke respond by turning his head to the side and raising a finger to the screen.

"I am not asking about what happened after, ACASIAS has filled me in. What I am wondering is just how this came to be. How did you let an individual you well know to be unpredictable and violent to their own devices? Have all my regulations rang to deaf ears?" Virne asked, lowering the finger after the question and pressing his fist against the table. "I expect a full report of what happened and how you are going to be fixing that by the time you return. You have two standard hours after your arrival to show up at my office. With the perpetrator. I will be hearing all sides involved. Duke Rexes Virne, over and out."

The video screen shut down, returning the terminal to its usual state of showing monitored statistics of their flight. Creft turned to the other Fleet members in the cabin and made a request: "You heard the man. Please, speak up. What went wrong?"

I did a quick character sheet review. If I had anything to say about yours, you can find the comments in your PM inbox.
The heroes gathered around the Priestess did not need to consider her words for long. Whether it was her question that spurred to life the will to fight the invading cult or that the will had been there all along, everyone agreed that this crusade would need to be started. The cult had fought a winning battle here, but they would take the battle back to them and show just how powerful a select few could be, compared to their masses. Sure, the cult had the numbers... but they had the will and the skill. It was no longer fighting to survive. They would be fighting to avenge.

However glorious, the plan could only come to fruition after they had rested their bones, mended what wounds they had and gathered back the will, resolve and whatever else they needed for their more exceptional abilities. Come early afternoon, the group once more stood before governor Nighthill, who granted them two Potions of Healing, his lackeys handing them over to the man who had acted as the champion of Greenest not too many hours earlier. It was all rather surreal: In the light of the day, one could see that while many buildings had been burnt and all ransacked, people were back on the streets rebuilding. Life in Greenest would go on. Even while the adventurers' task would take them away.

To Brannor's surprise, the villagers also offered to repair the suit of armour for him while they were gone, but since they had little for themselves as things were, they would need a small sum of gold to cover the costs, that would then go to purchasing further materials for rebuilding. Unfortunately the man didn't quite have the money now, so he left the suit of armour behind... but not without arranging with the villagers that he would return with the required sum later. The smith would not work with quite as much zeal, but the job would go onward.

What had followed had been a quick departure to follow the tracks the small army had left behind themselves, a remarkably simple task in fact. A wide swath of grass has been trampled down, but the exact numbers of the attackers are impossible to tell. What Torus and Kyra were able to tell was that the prints they could find were undoubtedly deeper on the way back, but that did little to aid with the question at hand.

Perhaps five miles of travel later, they spotted smoke coming up from somewhere in front of them. It was a single trail, way too small to belong to the entirety of the opposing army... and they still had a good three miles of distance to go to reach it. If the path they were following would continue as expected, the smoke would be a good distance off to the side... Possibly even unrelated. But who would be camping here, in the wake of a marauding cult? They would need to pick a course of action to take with this find. To ignore or to investigate?
