And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Pump your brakes, now we are going a bit far aren't we? At least Ambush Drakes are not intelligent lifeforms! Besides, you would be correct with the limited time thing. It'd take quite a bit of time to process enough workable hide from those little creatures to make a shirt for him.
Well done search engines, well done. Welcome to the guild @Ozmemendyas!

It seems like you would be a fellow tabletop enthusiast and we do indeed happen to have a section for that over here on the guild! Can't tell if there are games that would directly fit to your tastes, but since you are more of the GM sort anyway that shouldn't be a problem, right? I'm sure that you'll find players for what you have!

If you need help navigating this place, might I recommend our navigation guide? I am aware that you have said nothing of the sort, but it's a common thing newcomers ask about, so...
@Lucius Cypher

The hide of a simple Ambush Drake will not grant any obvious benefits I am afraid. Kobolds might consider it a threat as the scaredy cats they are, but anything more substantial than that will be likely to shrug it off. But hey, with the amounts of kobolds you are seeing that might yield some benefit!
@Lucius Cypher

It is a possibility, but it will take time. Same story with the Splint. Not to mention that it would cost a bit of money to boot, and would not be as good as chain shirt, probably something akin to hide armour. But it is doable.
@Lucius Cypher

Thing is, we are talking about city guard here. Ringmail is cheap and effective even on less trained folk, so that's what they use and have stocked. It is what is available. It just so happens that it does not match what Orchid is accustomed to wearing.

Right, it's about time I took my DM boot and kicked this thing onward since nothing much seems to be going on. If anyone has anything against considering the 8 hours of the Long Rest spent and handwaving most of the morning (including automatically accepting the reward provided by the locals) and setting you on the trail of the cult, speak up now. If nobody objects, the RP will move on tomorrow.
@StrangeLotus

What I meant with that was that most of the activity happens outside of the Tabletop section. The impact of rules on games in that section depends largely on the DM, so I cannot really say about that. I tend to stick around the same few people who I know since I keep getting interested in the ideas I see them pitch.
Welcome to the Guild @StrangeLotus! If you've got that many Bard levels, may I request a casting of Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion? I've a party to throw.

We do have a separate Tabletop section if you are looking to try some forum based tabletop gaming, but most of the things here are of the more rules lax sort. With the exception of the Arena, but that makes sense since the place is built for PvP. Needs to have guidelines an all. I am sure you'll be able to find the things you have come looking for somewhere around here. To aid you in that cause, I present you the in depth guide to navigating the guild!

Oh, and in case you haven't seen them yet, here's the main rules.
The General and the rest of the people were already on their way back to the transportation vessel when ACASIAS delivered worrying news from his sister. The message was simple, two words in all. "THREAT PURGED", she affirmed. If his exoframe would not automatically root out behaviour that could harm the delicate parts of the faux face it carried, Creft would have called for it to bite its lip. What does she mean, 'purged'? It didn't take him long to add one and one together though: Nick had gone against his direct order of explicitly not doing anything stupid, hadn't he? Dammit.

He responded to the information post-haste: "This is about Zelthis is it not? Virne is going to rip us apart." The latter statement carried the same matter of factly tone which the General was known to use when issuing orders that could well lead to the death of the unit. He knew that they would not get any too serious reprimands, but deaths of crew on peaceful missions like these always warranted an investigation. And the Duke was known to be a thorough and dutiful man under their joking and approachable exterior.

Eventually they arrived at the ship and it would be the time to extract their unruly, even rebellious lunatic from the space they had been confined into. To make sure any further stunts of foolishness would not be taking place, Creft donned the set of twin plasma repeaters on his shoulders, the familiar targeting reticules appearing in his field of vision. He would personally be looking after this fellow for the rest of the trip, if the guards were too incompetent to be trusted with said job. As soon as they'd have recovered Zelthis and ran a successful and fault free diagnostics test, they would be heading back to Fleet space. It had been far too long since he had last walked in the familiar hallways of the Universal Nova.

The sudden influx of new arrival to Grug's wagon threw him off. First in came this figure with something he couldn't quite place his finger on about them, yet it seemed Fionn had picked up the same uneasy feeling. The new arrival did mention heading the same way as them and that they were even hiring help, but Fionn seemed to have made his mind up about it without asking the old orc. Perhaps it was for the best too. If that man of virtue from his visions had second thoughts, there had to be a good reason to it. The situation itself was defused by even more people entering, which prompted a quip from the Oracle: "If half of my days were this lively, I'd have a house of my own and two farms to boot."

Nonetheless, the situation was as quick to de-escalate as it had appeared and the group could get back to preparing for their journey off to the ruins where Grug was sure they would find some antediluvian evil they would need to stop. And now that he stood there amongst other undoubtedly more capable warriors and spellcasters he couldn't help but feel a little outclassed. But in this case that was merely a good thing, their power could deal with the horde of the dead that stood before them.

Fionn's address was mostly towards those that he knew beforehand, which meant Grug stayed a bit further away. He had run his divinations already and shared them with the man. There was nothing for him to add here and he could only hope that he would take them more seriously than the older of the two ladies that accompanied him earlier. The old orc stood there at the back, leaning against his staff. He would join them on the journey deeper, even if it would cost him. The undead could not be left roaming free.
